सालों का इतिहास ईंटों, पत्थर और चूने की इमारत के रूप में खड़ा किया गया, ताज महल भारत में एक ऐतिहासिक स्थल है. जो पर्यटकों को हमेशा से अपनी ओर आकर्षित करता रहा है।

भारत ऐतिहासिक इमारतों व स्मारकों की भूमि है। लेकिन वास्तुकला का सबसे उल्लेखनीय उदहारण ताज महल है। इसलिए हमारी कक्षा ने ग्रीष्मकालीन अवकाश के दौरान ताज महल की सैर (भ्रमण) का फैसला किया।

हम लगभग 9 बजे पर्यटक बस द्वारा ताज महल (आगरा) पहुंचे। हमने सौ रुपये पर एक गाइड किराए पर लिया। गाइड ने हमें बताया कि इस सुंदर इमारत का निर्माण मुगल सम्राट शाहजहां द्वारा 1650 में अपनी प्यारी रानी मुमताज की याद में बनाया गया था। यह सफेद पत्थर व संगमरमर से बना है।

ताज का नजारा देखने में अद्भुत है ये भारत के इतिहास की गवाही देता प्रतीत होता है। कहा जाता है, कि बीस हजार श्रमिकों की रात दिन मेहनत के बावजूद इसे खड़ा करने में 20 वर्ष लग गये थे।

मुमताज का मकबरा सफेद संगमरमर की एक बड़ी शिला पर बना हुआ है जिसके चारों ओर चार खूबसूरत मीनार हैं। मकबरे के अंदर, मुमताज महल और शाहजहां के मृत शरीर को दफन किया गया था।

रानी की कब्र पर कुरान आयते उत्कीर्ण की गई है। मगर शाहजहाँ  की कब्र पर इस तरह का कोई विवरण नही मिलता है।

दूर से देखने पर ताज महल एक सफेद परी की तरह दिखता है। इसकी सुंदरता चंद्रमा की की रोशनी में मुस्कुराती है। लेकिन, चांदनी रात में, इसकी आभा को शब्दों से बया कर पाना असम्भव है।

यह वास्तव में दुनिया का आठवां अजूबा है। शाहजहाँ के बेगम के प्रति प्यार की निशानी सैकड़ो साल बाद भी प्रेम की गवाही दे रही है। रविंद्र नाथ टैगोर ने ताज के बारे में कहा, कि ताजमहल अतीत पर एक सुंदर आंसू है।

पास ही खड़े पेड़ो पर पक्षियों का कलरव इसकी सुन्दरता को कई गुना तक बढ़ा देते है. पास में चल रहे फव्वारे व बगीचे ताज की आभा को बढ़ाते है. इसके पीछे से यमुना नदी बहती है, नदी में इस इमारत की परछाई देखने पर आँखे खुली की खुली रह जाती है. ऐसा लगता है जैसे ताज कुछ बोलकर हमे कुछ कहना चाहता है.

संक्षेप में, ताज महल भारत के सबसे बड़े पर्यटन स्थलों में से एक है। यह प्राचीन भारतीय कला, वास्तुकला, और संस्कृति की एक जीवित तस्वीर है। यह प्यार का सच्चा प्रतीक है। ताजमहल जाने के बिना, भारत भ्रमण अधुरा सा लगता है.

हमारे स्कूल के छात्रों ने आगरा के प्रसिद्ध एवं एतिहासिक ईमारतों की सैर की. ताजमहल सैर बहुत रोमांचक थी. वहां फव्वारे, संगमरमर के तालाब, फूलों की क्यारियाँ और साइप्रस के पेड़ थे.

साइट लेआउट:

मुख्य संरचना अपेक्षाकृत पूरे वास्तुशिल्प लेआउट के एक छोटे से हिस्से में व्याप्त है। साइट आयताकार है जिसकी माप 579 मीटर 305 मीटर है। 305 मीटर की ओर का एक चौकोर हिस्सा उत्तर की तरफ अलग रखा गया था जिसमें एक उभरे हुए चबूतरे पर सफेद संगमरमर की इमारत को केंद्र में नदी से सटे चरम उत्तर की तरफ बनाया गया था।

एक उच्च सीमा की दीवार प्रत्येक कोने पर व्यापक अष्टकोणीय गढ़ वाले स्थल को जोड़ती है। एक स्मारकीय प्रवेश द्वार दक्षिणी ओर के केंद्र में रखा गया है। सामने की दक्षिणी अदालत में अस्तबल, आउटहाउस और अन्य सम्पादन जोड़े गए थे।

प्रवेश और मार्ग:

दक्षिणी प्रवेश द्वार चम्फर्ड कोण, मेहराब, पैरापेट और वॉल्टेड छत युक्त है। इस द्वार के माध्यम से मुख्य बाड़े के बगीचे में पहुंच प्रदान की जाती है। ताजमहल की इमारत और उसके बगीचे का सामने का दृश्य इस दृष्टि से देखा जाता है। बाग चारबाग के सिद्धांत पर रखा गया है।

आंतरिक में मुख्य अष्टकोणीय केंद्रीय हॉल होता है जिसमें सहायक कक्ष भी होते हैं जो विकिरण मार्ग से जुड़े प्रत्येक कोने में रखे गए अष्टकोणीय होते हैं। मुख्य हॉल दो मंजिला है, जिसमें एक सेनेटोफ़ चेंबर है जिसमें नीचे उतरते हुए कदम हैं। मुख्य हॉल को गोलार्ध की तिजोरी से ढक दिया गया था, जिसमें डबल गुंबद का भीतरी खोल था।

इसके ऊपर मुख्य गुंबद को बीच में एक बड़ा शून्य छोड़कर बनाया गया था। छिद्रित संगमरमर स्क्रीन ने दो स्तरों में धनुषाकार खिड़कियां भरीं। कोने के कमरों के अंदर डैडोस पर कुछ नक्काशी है। स्मारक का प्रत्येक भाग सुंदरता, सुंदरता, घटता, सजावट को दर्शाता है जो एक शाही महिला को विशेषता देता है जिसे स्मारक समर्पित किया गया था।

एक सुंदर और बारीक घुमावदार गुंबद केंद्र में 57 मीटर की ऊंचाई तक एक गोलाकार डॉम के ऊपर होता है। इसी तरह के छोटे गुंबदों को कोने के कमरों में रखा गया था। दीवारों के ऊपर मेरिलेंट किए गए पैरापेट्स इमारत के क्षितिज को सजाते हैं। पत्थर के जोड़ों की बारीक रेखाओं ने न केवल सतहों को विभाजित किया, बल्कि सतहों की सुंदरता को भी समृद्ध किया।

Sprinkled with the stardust of Bollywood, the Hindi-language film industry that bases itself here, and studded with billionaires , India’s hyperkinetic metropolis, known as Bombay until 1995, feels like a place where anything is possible. But over the years, the city’s reality has been one of crumbling infrastructure, unmoving traffic and unending slums. It's Pretty Convenient To Visit

Standing tall and proud in the bustling city of Agra, the Taj Mahal is about four hours north of the country's capital, Delhi. Agra is the most populated state in India, which means there are multiple different options for getting here. The fastest route to the Taj Mahal would be to fly. If you're already in India, your best bet is to arrive at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Airport, in Agra — just over 4 miles from the city center. But if you're coming from outside of the country, the nearest major airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

From here, Agra is easy enough to reach by train. You'll want to arrive at Agra Cantt Railway Station, with several superfast, express trains running to and from all the major cities, including Mumbai, Kolkata, and Delhi. If you'd prefer to take the bus, Agra also has a well-developed road network, which you can access from various nearby hubs, including Delhi, Jaipur, and Varanasi. It Took Around 20 Years To Build

To give you a little background, the iconic monument we all know and love was commissioned by the fifth Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan, as a memorial for his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal -- she died during childbirth in 1631. The building process was started almost immediately after her tragic death and took around 20 years to complete. As well as incredible white marble from the Indian state of Rajasthan, materials for the Taj Mahal were sought from all over the world, including turquoise from Tibet, white sapphire from Sri Lanka, and jade imported from China. Around 1,000 elephants were also thought to be involved in the construction process, transporting these special materials across borders, and helping to lay them in place.

When the Taj Mahal was finally finished in 1653, there were rumors that the thousands of laborers who helped create it had their thumbs chopped off, so that no such monument could ever be built again! Whether this holds true or not, the Emperor was also buried here after he died in 1666, alongside his beloved wife.

You Need To Wear Shoe Covers

A visit to the Taj Mahal can feel a little overwhelming and be a lot to take in. So much so that it may be easy to forget it's also a mausoleum — the final resting place of the Emperor and his true love. It's really important to be respectful of the rules around the monument, including covering your shoes when you go into the burial chamber.

While most temples in India require you to take off your shoes completely, the Taj Mahal simply asks tourists to use shoe covers, which are given to you in a fetching light blue shade, at the ticket booth when you arrive. These are used to prevent dust particles from being tracked into the mausoleum and to keep its marble-clad surfaces as shiny and clean as possible. On your way out of the Taj Mahal, be sure to put these disposable shoe covers, and any rubbish that you have, in the trash cans provided. Sadly, the world-famous monument has suffered from plagues of litter in recent years.

Tickets Cost More For International Tourists

Don't be surprised to see that domestic tourists pay much less for the privilege of gawking at the Taj Mahal. Indian citizens are charged 50 rupees (approximately $0.70), while foreign visitors must pay 1,100 rupees ($15.50). You'll need to part with even more money if you want to go inside the mausoleum itself — there's an additional 200 rupee fee ($2.50), but it's worth it. Plus, the foreign tourists' ticket comes with shoe covers, a water bottle, a map, as well as a bus or golf cart service, which takes you to the nearest gate. Expect to pay around 2,000 rupees ($25) for a tour guide per day, but if you just want someone to show you around the monument for three hours, you're looking at somewhere near the 1,500 rupee mark ($18). These prices increase dramatically for the pushy kind of guide who lingers outside the Taj Mahal waiting for tourists. So, it goes without saying — book in advance for less stress on the day itself. If you do decide to go with a guide when you arrive, ask them for an approved identity card before you begin.

Where To Take The Best Pictures

The signature shot of the Taj Mahal (the one doing the rounds on social media) is on the approach from the South Gate.
