IPhone 11 Phone Case

Introduction: IPhone 11 Phone Case

My Name is Jordan Jean, and I will be showing you how to make an iPhone 11 phone case.
Getting all the materials you need for this project is very easy! All you are going to need is any laptop that you own at home, and a TinkerCad account.
Step 1: Finding the Right Shape or Your Phone Case

First you want to drag in a rounded box onto your platform.
Step 2: Changing the Height, Width, and Depth

The Height of the iPhone 11 is 150.9 mm and, the width is 75.7 mm. That means I needed to make the case bigger than the actual phone. I made the the height, width, and depth one mm bigger than the actual phone.
Step 3: Changing the Depth

The depth of an iPhone 11 is 8.3 mm, so I made the the depth of the case one mm bigger than the actual phone.
Step 4: Duplicating and Changing the Size

So you what you want to do is to duplicate the model. You should find the duplicating button on the top left. After you do that, you want to change the height, width, and depth of your duplicate. I changed it to the exact size of the actual size of an iPhone 11 phone. The height of an iPhone 11 is 150.9 mm, the width is 75.7 mm, and the depth is 8.3 mm.
Step 5: Making a Hole

Now you want to make a hole and the location of the button is on the top right. You should see a sign that looks like the picture up top. Press the hole button to turn the duplicate into a hole.
Step 6: Aligning and Grouping Your Hole and Case

First you want to press on the hole. When you do that, raise up your hole off the ground up to 3 mm. you should see a button that kind of looks like a cone. After you do that, you want to press on a button on the top right that has a line going up and that has two rectangles next to it. That is the align button, and it will align the hole and the case perfectly. After you do that, you have to group together your hole and case. You do that by going to the top right of the page again and pressing a button that looks like a square and circle morphed together. Once you do that you can wait for a few seconds to see that a hole was put on your model, so that you can put your phone inside.
Step 7: Examining Your Hole

After doing step 6, your project should look like this. As you can see in this picture, there is a hole on the phone case, so that the iPhone 11 can fit inside.
Step 8: Starting to Make Your Camera Space

What you want to do is turn aside your phone case, so that you are seeing the back of the case. Do that by moving a button that looks like this. It may take you sometime if this is your first time using Tinker Cad. If it isn't, you'll have no problem. After you turn the case around, bring out a cube.
Step 9: Making Your Cube a Hole and Changing the Size

I had to measure the space the cameras of another iPhone 11 case. When I measured it, it came up as 30 mm meters on all sides of the cube. I made the cube 30 mm on every side.
Step 10: Placing the Hole on the Phone

You want to put your hole at a reasonably place where a an iPhone 11 camera is located. As you can see, there is a picture where I put the cube on the top left, exactly where an iPhone 11 camera is located.
Step 11: You Are Finished!

You are now finished! This is what your phone case should look like now. I hope you enjoyed my Instructable Lesson and I hope you enjoyed making this. To see if your creation was up to code, I would 3-D print it, but only if you have access to a 3-D printer. Thank you, and I will see you next time!

Cell phones come in many shapes and sizes, and finding a case to fit your phone can sometimes be tricky and expensive. Luckily, making a custom cell phone case is easier than you'd think. You can easily make a case at home using a hot glue gun or some silicone and cornstarch. You can also make a simple slip cover out of felt. If you already have a plastic case, then why not decorate it to make it stand out?
Things You Should Know
- Create your own phone case using hot glue, silicone that you can buy from a home improvement or crafts store, or felt.
- You can buy many of these items cheaply, but the steps to make the cases functional are a little more intricate.
- Decorate a plastic case that you already have with puffy paint, dimensional fabric paint, or lace.
Making a Hot Glue Cell Phone Case

- Trace your phone onto a sheet of paper.
- Draw your pattern using a black marker. Make sure the design touches the sides.
- Cut out the template along the outline.
- Tape the template to the back of your phone.

- Wrap your phone as tightly as you can.
- Make sure that the phone is turned off first to prevent overheating.
- Make sure that you are taping everything on the front of the phone.

- Make sure that the color you use shows up against your phone.

Making a Silicone Cell Phone Case

- Try to work in a well-ventilated area. Silicone can have a strong odor.
- The silicone used in this method is not the same as hot glue.

- Make sure that you are using clear silicone. You can find it in home improvement stores. It comes in a syringe. [11] X Research source
- If you can't find cornstarch, look for cornflour. You can also use potato starch instead.

- If you want to make a quilted design, let the silicone harden for about 10 to 20 minutes, then dust it with cornstarch. Use a knife to make cross-crossing diagonal lines in a diamond/quilted pattern. [14] X Research source

- If the case is dusty inside, wipe it down with a damp cloth.

- You can also carve a rectangle or trapezoid into the top and/or bottom edge for the speaker instead of cutting out a slot. [17] X Research source

- You can make more shapes out of silicone separately, let them dry, paint them with nail polish, then glue them to the case with a drop of clear silicone. [20] X Research source
Making a Felt Cell Phone Case

- If you are doing this by hand, consider using embroidery floss in a contrasting color.
- If you are doing this on a sewing machine, backstitch at the start and end of your sewing.

Decorating a Plastic Cell Phone Case

- Make sure that the glue is clear and glossy.
- Add a piece of fabric on top of the lace for a layered effect.

- You can find washi tape in the scrapbooking section in an arts and crafts store.
- Try a chevron pattern for something more interesting.

- You can lay the tape down horizontally or vertically.
- Do not cover the sides of the phone case.

- You can also use patterned, cotton fabric instead.
