The United States' infant mortality (death before age 1) rate was 5.6 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2019, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Insider Today

Cristiano Ronaldo's son has scored almost twice as many goals for Juventus as he has since moving to Italy.

Ronaldo joined Juventus from Real Madrid in July 2018 for a fee of $112 million, and has since scored 34 times in all competitions for the Italian champion.

Nine-year-old Ronaldo Jr. however, who joined the club's academy at the same time, has far eclipsed his famous father's record in front of goal, finding the net an astonishing 58 times in just 28 games.

Adding to that impressive total, he's also provided 18 assists for his "Pulcini Under-9" teammates.

—Premier Sports 📺 (@PremierSportsTV) October 30, 2019

Ronaldo Jr scored four goals on his debut for Juventus in September 2018, according to Tuttosport, and in April, he  scored seven in a single half against CS Maritimo, say AS.

Even his dad admits he's been better

Ronaldo Sr's return of 28 goals last season for Juventus was his worst in a decade — the last time he tallied fewer than 30 in a single campaign was the 2008-2009 season when he represented Manchester United.

And the Portuguese star admits his son has adapted to life in Turin better than him.

"He is playing for Juventus and adapting really well," the Portugal international told DAZN.  "It has been easier for him than for me."

"I hope that [he] can be like his dad. He says he is going to be better, but I think it's difficult."

The 34-year-old's fortunes are back on the up this term having scored six times in just 11 games, including a 96th minute winner against Genoa on Wednesday.

Juventus next take on Torino on Saturday, November 2.

Ronaldo

Who Is Ronaldo?

Ronaldo established himself as an unstoppable scorer for European soccer teams in the mid-1990s. He bounced back from a disappointing finish to the 1998 World Cup and a series of knee injuries to lead Brazil to victory in the 2002 World Cup, and retired in 2011 as one of the game's all-time greats.

Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima was born on September 18, 1976, in Itaguaí, Brazil. His parents, Nélio Nazário de Lima and Sônia dos Santos Barata, separated when he was 11, and Ronaldo dropped out of school shortly afterward to pursue a soccer career.

Ronaldo joined the Social Ramos indoor soccer team at the age of 12 before moving on to São Cristóvão, where he was discovered by his future agents, Reinaldo Pitta and Alexandre Martins. The two arranged for the sale of their new client's contract to Cruzeiro, a professional club in the city of Belo Horizonte.

Professional Soccer Player

Ronaldo showcased his impressive goal-scoring ability for Cruzeiro, helping the club to its first Brazil Cup championship in 1993. The talented 17-year-old was named to the Brazilian national team for the 1994 World Cup in the United States, though he watched from the bench as his countrymen won the Cup.

Ronaldo hit the ground running when his contract was sold to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands in 1994, averaging nearly a goal per game against top-notch European competition. Two years with PSV Eindhoven were followed by one with FC Barcelona and then a move to Inter Milan, a four-year period in which Ronaldo twice won FIFA World Player of the Year and carried his teams to victory in the Dutch and Spanish Super Cups.

During his peak, Ronaldo possessed an unstoppable combination of speed and power, equally capable of plowing through defenders as he was of nimbly sidestepping their attacks and accelerating away. Adding to his aura was an aversion to practicing and training hard, an attitude that did little to stem his dominance.

Big things were expected from Ronaldo and Brazil in the 1998 World Cup in France, but while he was named the Golden Ball winner as the Cup's best player, the tournament ended on a sour note when Ronaldo suffered a convulsive fit before the final and was ineffective in a 3-0 loss to the host country. Bigger setbacks followed when Ronaldo ruptured a knee tendon in November 1999 and reinjured the knee five months later, knocking him out of action for almost two years.

Ronaldo made a triumphant return in time for the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan, netting eight goals to win the Golden Boot Award as the Cup's top scorer while leading Brazil its fifth world championship. Ronaldo transferred to Real Madrid that fall, winning the FIFA World Player of the Year Award a third time before leading his new club to La Liga and Spanish Super Cup championships in 2003.

Ronaldo appeared in one final World Cup for Brazil in 2006. Although Brazil was bounced in the quarterfinals by France, Ronaldo scored three times to set a record with 15 career goals in World Cup play.

Ronaldo transferred to AC Milan in 2007, but in 2008 he sustained another serious knee injury and his contract was not renewed after the season. The Brazilian legend returned to his home country in 2009 to play for Corinthians, helping them to victories in the Campeonato Paulista league and Brazil Cup that year, before announcing his retirement in February 2011.

Post-Career and Legacy

Ronaldo is recognized as one of the best soccer players in history. In 2004, he was named to the FIFA 100, a list of the greatest living players compiled by the legendary Pelé, and in 2010, he was deemed Goal.com's "Player of the Decade."

Often criticized for not training hard as a pro athlete, Ronaldo set himself up for an active post-playing career by founding 9ine, a sports marketing agency. He also joined the organizing committees for the Brazil-based 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics, ensuring that he would remain an influential figure in Brazilian sports and international affairs for years to come.

♦ Who Is Georgina Rodriguez: Biography, Career, Net Worth, Cristiano Ronaldo: Girlfriend or Wife?

♦ who is cristiano ronaldo: biography, personal life, career and net worth, who is cristiano ronaldo’s son - cristiano ronaldo jr.

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr was born in San Diego in 2010.

In the family, he is nicknamed 'Cristianinho', which means 'Little Cristiano'.

And he is already living up to that billing, having joined the Man Utd academy.

Cristiano Jr has also been regularly seen performing his father's famous "siiiu" celebration when scoring for the Red Devils U12s.

Who is Cristiano Ronaldo Jr's mother?

The identity of Cristiano Ronaldo Jr's mother is not known and Ronaldo Sr says he will never reveal it to the public.

However, he did say that he would inform Cristiano Jr when he feels he is old enough to know the truth.

He told Jonathan Ross: "People speculate I was with this girl or another, or there was a surrogate mother.

"I have never told anyone and never will.

"When Cristiano [Junior] is going to grow up, I am always going to say the truth to him because he deserves it, because he is my son.

"But I am not going to say [it just] because people want me to say."

Ronaldo added that he did not believe it would be an issue for Cristiano Jr to grow up without his mother.

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr's football career

There has been plenty of debate over whether Cristiano Jr will become a footballer like his father but he has shown in recent years that he is well on the way to following in his footsteps. Cristiano Jr played for Manchester United under 12s, after signing for the club earlier this year.

However, whilst Ronaldo was at Juventus, his son started playing for the club’s youth sides, and a number of videos of him scoring a hatful of goals went viral as he showed glimpses of the talent he already possesses and the similarities he shares with his father in the way plays.

While the family were still living in Turin, his father revealed: "I hope that Cris, my son, can be like his dad. He says he is going to be better [than me], but I think it's difficult. He is playing for Juventus and adapting really well, it has been easier for him than for me."

By the time he left Juventus following his father’s transfer to Man Utd last year, Cristiano Jr left a huge mark at the club after producing some phenomenal numbers for the youth sides. In just 23 games, the 11-year-old notched a remarkable 58 goals and 17 assists during his time in Turin.

Despite having to wait a while to join the Red Devils' youth set-up, Cristiano Jr is now an important member of his side and plays alongside Wayne Rooney's son, Kai, while he wears the famous no. 7 shirt, just like his father. The pair have impressed at the club and Cristiano Jr even copied his dad's famous 'Siu' celebration after scoring at an overseas tournament recently.

In 2020, Ronaldo said: "We'll see if my son will become a great footballer. He has potential. He is fast and dribbles well, but that is not enough. I always tell him that it takes work and dedication to have success. I won't pressure him to become a footballer, but if you ask me if I want him to, yes I would like it. The most important thing is to become the best at whatever he does, whether it is as a footballer or a doctor."

We delve into the pivotal moments that have marked the career of this Portuguese football superstar. Starting from Ronaldo’s formative days through to his ascension to fame, SoccerBiography maps out the journey of this extraordinary athlete.

For those interested in a visual journey through Ronaldo’s life, our collection of photographs from his youth to adulthood provides a vivid illustration of his biography.

It’s common knowledge among sports fans that Ronaldo has a long-standing competitive relationship with Lionel Messi , with debates often focusing on which of them is the greatest of all time (GOAT) in football.

However, despite his fame, many of his fans may not be familiar with the condensed story of Ronaldo’s life. We’ve compiled this for you and are ready to present it. So, let’s get started without further delay.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Childhood Story:

In our biography, we reveal that Ronaldo’s favourite moniker is ‘the GOAT.’ His full name are as follows; Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro. And CR7’s official website is cristianoronaldo.com . The Football Legend, born on February 5, 1985, was named ‘Ronaldo’ by his father, who admired the then-recently re-elected U.S. President Ronald Reagan.

Ronaldo’s birthplace is Funchal, situated on the Madeira Islands, an archipelago that, while not part of mainland Portugal, is one of its territories.

The youngest of four, Ronaldo was raised in a family with humble beginnings, his mother being a cook and his father, a man of various trades including soldiering, gardening, and working as a kit man.

Among his favourite boyhood collection is one of the earliest photos of the football legend, captured with his parents after a visit to the local Catholic church in the Santo António parish of Funchal.

Growing Up as the Youngest in the Family:

Cristiano Ronaldo, affectionately known as Ronnie, was the youngest child in his family, growing up with his older brother, Hugo, and two older sisters, Elma and Katia. As the youngest, it’s reported that he received a great deal of attention and indulgence from his parents.

At home, Cristiano was often spared punishment. Whenever he was caught in a misstep, he would resort to tears, and his older siblings—Hugo, Elma, and Katia—would find themselves blamed for his mischiefs.

This leniency allowed Ronaldo to grow up with less pressure compared to his older siblings, who were expected to live up to their parents’ expectations.

From a young age, Ronaldo harbored dreams of carving out his path to success. Unlike his brother Hugo, Cristiano always had an abundance of clothing. His parents, Maria Dolores dos Santos and José Dinis, made sure he was well-dressed, perhaps to mask the reality of their financial struggles.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Family Background:

Despite being recognized as football’s first billionaire, Ronaldo’s story is one of a modest beginning. His family was far from wealthy and faced severe financial hardships during his childhood.

The house where he grew up was a stark testament to the family’s poverty, a humbling reminder that Ronaldo has not forgotten.

The scarcity was so acute that Cristiano shared one room with his siblings. There was a point when his mother, grappling with poverty and her husband’s struggle with alcohol, considered terminating her pregnancy with Ronaldo. She even sought medical intervention, but the procedure was not performed. In her desperation, she resorted to drinking warm beer and engaging in strenuous activities, in the hopes of inducing a miscarriage. Fortunately, these attempts were unsuccessful, and Ronaldo was born healthy.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Family Origins:

It is a common misconception that Ronaldo’s heritage is solely Portuguese. Contrary to this belief, our genealogical research into Cristiano’s background reveals connections to Praia, the capital city of Cape Verde, an island nation off the coast of West Africa. This indicates that Ronaldo has West African roots.

It is documented that Isabel Rosa da Piedade, the mother of Humberto Cirilo Aveiro—who is Ronaldo’s paternal grandfather—originated from Praia. At 16, she relocated with her family from Cape Verde to Madeira, another Atlantic island, which became the birthplace of the following three generations, including the football superstar himself. Thus, Cristiano Ronaldo’s lineage extends to West African heritage.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Biography – The Soccer Story:

At the age when children typically start school, Cristiano Ronaldo was enrolled at Escola Básica e Secundária Gonçalves Zarco for his elementary education. However, from an early age, Ronaldo showed little interest in academic studies, preferring instead to spend time at Andorinha Football Club in Funchal, where his father, José Dinis Aveiro, worked as a kit man.

Ronaldo’s apathy towards schoolwork only increased as he became more engrossed in football. He joined the Andorinha football academy at just eight years old. To support his son’s burgeoning talent, José Aveiro took a full-time position as a kit man at the academy, dedicating himself to Ronaldo’s future in the sport.

Ricardo Santos, who played with Ronaldo during his time at Andorinha and is now the club’s coach, remembers him as being extremely competitive and sensitive. Ricardo recalls, “Cristiano really enjoyed winning. Whenever he didn’t, he would cry so much that he earned the nickname ‘crybaby’.”

Climbing the Youth Football Ranks:

After two years at CF Andorinha, Ronaldo caught the attention of Nacional, another local academy. His exceptional skills were unmistakable, showcased by the numerous trophies and awards he won while playing there. A photograph via social media from this period captures a young Ronaldo celebrating a tournament victory alongside his proud parents, club staff, and relatives, none of whom could have imagined he would one day be regarded as the world’s best footballer.

Journey to Lisbon:

Determined to hone his football abilities and lift his family out of poverty, Cristiano faced a pivotal moment in his youth. At the tender age of 12, he left Madeira for Lisbon, embracing a significant opportunity to advance his football career.

In 1997, Ronaldo attended a three-day trial with Sporting CP, a club that would later produce great names like Rafael Leao , Bruno Fernandes , Goncalo Iniacio , etc. His performance was so impressive that the club signed him for a fee of £1,500.

Parting from his family was heart-wrenching, and Ronaldo found himself crying daily, living up to his “Cry Baby” moniker once again. Despite the loneliness and the challenge of adjusting to a new life away from his family, Ronaldo remained steadfast, dedicating himself to his craft and the game he loved.

Aspiring to Excel and Considering School Dropout:

At 14 years old, Ronaldo had developed a resilient mindset, driven to excel in football and motivated to cope with the isolation from his family. His singular focus on football began to overshadow his interest in education, leading him to contemplate abandoning his studies altogether.

Ronaldo discussed with his mother the possibility of dropping out of school to fully dedicate himself to football. Despite being well-liked by his peers, he often clashed with his teachers.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Incident at School:

It is lesser known that Ronaldo was once expelled for bad behaviour. Research has it that he threw a chair at a teacher, whom he felt had disrespected him. Following this incident, he resolved to prove the teacher wrong by immersing himself completely in football, refining his skills, and focusing on improving his speed, which some felt was excessive for his young age.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Health Scare:

Ronaldo’s intense training and rapid pace on the field led to a worrisome health issue: he developed a condition that caused his heart to race. This cardiac abnormality threatened to derail his football career before it had fully begun.

Sporting CP’s medical team consulted with his parents and proceeded with a minimally invasive laser surgery to correct his heart rhythm. The operation was successful, and after recovery, he was cleared to return to the field, much to the relief of his family and supporters.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Rise to Stardom:

By the age of 16, Ronaldo’s commitment to rigorous training began to shape his ambition. His talent was undeniable, catching the eye of Sporting’s first-team manager László Bölöni, who was impressed with his exceptional dribbling skills and offered him a chance to train with the senior squad during the pre-season.

A pivotal moment arrived on August 12, 2003, during a pre-season friendly between Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United. Ronaldo’s outstanding performance led Sporting to a 3-1 victory over United. His skill on the field caught the attention of United’s players, including Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand, who then recommended him to their manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Impressed by his abilities, Sir Alex Ferguson decided to sign Ronaldo for a fee of £12.24 million, making him the most expensive teenager in the history of English football at that time.

Upon his transfer to Manchester United , Ronaldo initially desired the number 28 jersey, as he had worn at Sporting. Instead, he was offered the iconic number 7, previously worn by United legends such as George Best, Eric Cantona, and David Beckham. Accepting the number 7 jersey, Ronaldo found new inspiration to succeed at Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Biography – The Rise to Stardom:

At Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t just maintain his exceptional level of play; he further refined his skills, setting his sights on becoming the world’s preeminent footballer.

After the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Ronaldo was embroiled in controversy when his teammate Wayne Rooney was ejected from a game, leading to Ronaldo being jeered during the 2006–07 season. In response, he set a resolution to drown out the criticism with his performance, swiftly surpassing the 20-goal milestone and securing his inaugural Premier League title.

His relentless drive yielded a cascade of team triumphs and personal accolades, culminating in his first FIFA Ballon d’Or.

Before that memorable 2009–10 season, Ronaldo made a headline-grabbing switch to Real Madrid, transferring for a world-record sum of £80 million (€94 million), accompanied by an extraordinary €1 billion buy-out clause.

Becoming a Legend:

At Real Madrid, affectionately known as Los Blancos, Ronaldo reclaimed and sustained his Ballon d’Or-winning form, securing the award multiple times. His impressive tally of 451 goals in 438 games, along with numerous trophies and recognitions, bolstered his claim to being the greatest footballer of his era, a status akin to multiple Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas’s achievements in Spanish football.

However, after a disagreement with Real Madrid’s president Florentino Perez, Ronaldo sensed his time at the club might be nearing its end.

The unexpected occurred when Massimiliano Allegri of Juventus gambled and won the opportunity to sign the esteemed player. At Juventus, Ronaldo continued his record-shattering spree, notching up national and club records.

Beyond his club commitments, Ronaldo led the Portuguese national team to accumulate a plethora of national trophies, enhancing his illustrious career.

As this biography goes to print, Cristiano Ronaldo, alongside notables like Kylian Mbappe , Messi, Ronaldo de Lima , Theirry Henry, Kevin De Bruyne , Neymar and Erling Haaland , stands among the top icons in 21st century soccer. His ongoing career continues to be a testament to his enduring legacy.

Georgina’s early career included working as a waitress in Jaca before she moved to Bristol, England, to live with a family there.

The Couple’s First Meeting:

Georgina Rodriguez first encountered Cristiano Ronaldo while employed as a sales assistant staff at a popular Gucci store in Madrid, as reported by AS Sports News.

Georgina has described their initial meeting saying:

“I was immediately struck by his physique, height, and handsome appearance. I found myself shaking a bit when I saw him. There was a definite spark between us right away. I’m quite reserved, which made my reaction to him, someone who with just one look could affect me so deeply, all the more surprising. How Ronaldo has treated me, cared for me, and loved me completely won me over.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Family:

Cristiano Ronaldo embraced fatherhood for the first time at the age of 25, with the birth of his son, Cristiano Jr., on June 17, 2010.

Ronaldo has chosen not to disclose the identity of Cristiano Jr.’s biological mother, maintaining this privacy since his son was born in the United States.

Cristiano Jr. frequently accompanies his father at public events and has expressed a desire to follow in his footsteps as a professional footballer.

The football star is also a father to twins, a son named Mateo and a daughter named Eva, born via surrogacy in June 2017.

Later, Ronaldo and Georgina welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Alana Martina.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Lifestyle and Interests:

As for his expenditures, Ronaldo, like Neymar , has a passion for collecting cars and properties. His garage boasts a $300,000 Lamborghini Aventador, as well as a Maserati, among other luxury vehicles. His car collection also includes a Bentley, a Porsche, and a Mercedes.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Residence:

In the context of Cristiano Ronaldo’s biography, it’s noted that he resides in a $1.6 million mansion crafted by Otero Group, a developer known for luxury villas. While the amount might appear modest for a footballer of Ronaldo’s stature, often listed by Forbes, this home is only a fraction of his extensive $47 million property empire.

His real estate portfolio encompasses a variety of dwellings, including a house in Turin, an apartment in the Trump Tower in New York City, and a residence in La Finca, Spain. Of all his properties, the aforementioned residence seems to be his favoured retreat.

Ronaldo’s Vacation Home:

Despite his professional commitments taking him to Italy, Ronaldo’s heart remains attached to the Iberian Peninsula. This affinity led him to acquire a new residence in Spain, designed to be a holiday haven for his family along the Spanish coast.

Ronaldo’s Personal Traits:

Referring to a BBC report, it’s interesting to note that Ronaldo and his football rival Lionel Messi share more similarities than commonly perceived. Two aspects of Ronaldo’s personality stand out: his pride in his modest upbringing and his unwavering self-confidence, a belief in his destined greatness. CR7 holds the Aquarius sign, like these footballers: Jarell Quansah (English Defender), Hannibal Mejbri (Tunisian Midfielder), Matheus Nunes (Portuguese Attacking Midfielder), Niclas Fullkrug (German Forward) and Hamed Traore (Ivory Coast Attacking Midfielder).

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Family Bonds:

The most valuable legacy Ronaldo offers his family is a profound sense of unity. He has fostered an enduring bond of love within his family circle. Further details about his parents and other relatives will also be discussed.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Father:

José Dinis Aveiro, born on September 30, 1953, to his mother Filomena Aveiro, was not only a gardener and kit man but also a soldier who participated in Portugal’s colonial war in Angola. He fought to keep Angola under Portuguese control but was on the losing side of a conflict that saw many horrors and left deep psychological scars, contributing to his subsequent struggle with alcoholism.

Ronaldo abstains from alcohol, a decision heavily influenced by his father’s addiction. José Dinis Aveiro battled with alcoholism up until his death from liver failure on September 6, 2005, which tragically occurred just as Ronaldo’s career was burgeoning at Manchester United. José Dinis Aveiro’s passing was attributed to complications from his excessive drinking.

About Cristiano Ronaldo’s Mother:

Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro entered the world on December 31, 1954, born to Matilde dos Santos da Viveiros and Jose Viveiros, who worked as a cleaner. A cook by profession, Maria Dolores has not remarried since the death of her husband, José Dinis Aveiro, in 2005. Reports indicate that she later began a relationship with a man named Jose Andrade, who is Ronaldo’s potential stepfather.

Currently, Maria Dolores revels in a comfortable lifestyle, relishing time spent with her son, who is her main source of support, and her grandchildren. On social media, she boasts a significant following, with more than 1.7 million on Instagram as of 2020.

The family faced a difficult period when Maria Dolores found she was diagnosed with breast cancer in the year 2007. Thankfully, after undergoing radiation therapy and continuing with medication, she made a full recovery and continues to take anti-cancer drugs to prevent a recurrence.

In 2015, Maria Dolores faced legal issues when Spanish authorities detained her at Madrid’s Barajas Airport for carrying €55,000 in her handbag without the required declaration form. The money was seized by the authorities.

About Cristiano Ronaldo’s Brother:

Hugo dos Santos Aveiro, who was born in 1975, has had a life marked by personal challenges and is often perceived as dwelling in the shadow of his younger, famous brother, Cristiano. Hugo, once an aspiring footballer, succumbed to alcohol and drug abuse in the late 1990s, an issue that seems to have been a familial struggle.

With Cristiano Ronaldo’s help and support, Hugo overcame his addictions and now manages Ronaldo’s museum in Madeira, Portugal, testament to his recovery and the strong support within the family.

About Katia Aveiro:

Katia Aveiro, born on October 5, 1976, is Ronaldo’s elder sister by nine years and is a Portuguese singer. Her music career has been positively influenced by her brother’s fame. Of all of Ronaldo’s siblings, she is notably close to him and often publicly defends him against criticism from fans, especially from those who support rival Lionel Messi.

About Elma dos Santos Aveiro:

Elma dos Santos Aveiro, born on March 10, 1973, is the eldest sibling and was the first child in the family. Although not as widely known as her sister Katia, Elma pursued modelling and furthered her education in Peru before attending the University of Cincinnati in the United States.

Elma, much like Katia, does not hold back in defending her brother, Cristiano, against critics and is particularly confrontational towards fans of his rival, Lionel Messi. She has even posted images depicting Messi as if venerating Ronaldo, showcasing the fierce loyalty she has for her brother.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Maternal Grandparents:

On his mother’s side, Cristiano Ronaldo’s grandparents, Jose Vivieros and Maria-Angela Spinola, are part of the Portuguese community residing in Yangebup, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. They moved from Madeira’s capital, Funchal, to Australia in the year 2000 in pursuit of a new beginning.

During their migration, Ronaldo’s mother, Maria Dolores, decided to stay back in Portugal to be by her son’s side as he progressed through the ranks at Sporting Lisbon. Maria Dolores has an extensive family in Australia, and it’s conceivable that Ronaldo’s life could have taken a different path, potentially growing up in Australia. Jose Vivieros, Ronaldo’s maternal grandfather, takes pride in his daughter’s role in nurturing Ronaldo’s successful football career.

Paternal Grandmother:

On his father’s side, Cristiano Ronaldo’s grandmother was Filomena Aveiro, who passed away in a Portuguese hospital on July 8, 2014, after a period of illness. The identity of Ronaldo’s paternal grandfather remains undocumented.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Extended Family:

Elma dos Santos Aveiro, the eldest daughter of José Dinis Aveiro and Maria Dolores, is the mother of Eleonor Caires, Ronaldo’s first niece. Eleonor has garnered social media fame and is well-known for her presence online. She was born to Elma and her partner, Edgar.

Alicia Beatriz Aveiro, another member of Ronaldo’s family, is the daughter of his elder brother, Hugo dos Santos Aveiro. Like her cousin Eleonor, Alicia has found popularity on Instagram, sharing her family experiences and travel adventures.

José Dinis Pereira Aveiro is Katia Aveiro’s son with her ex-partner, José Pereira. He shows promise in football, similar to his cousin Cristiano Jr., and the two seem to share a close bond.

Rodrigo Pereira Aveiro, born on August 4, 2000, is yet another nephew of Ronaldo and son of Katia Aveiro. Lastly, Hugo Tomás is the son of Hugo dos Santos Aveiro. He enjoys a close relationship with his cousin Cristiano Jr. and celebrates his birthday every September.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Personal Facts Beyond Football:

Beyond the well-documented career achievements of Cristiano Ronaldo, there are lesser-known aspects of his life that might intrigue his fans.

The Disguise Incident:

In a memorable event, Cristiano Ronaldo disguised himself as a homeless person and took to the streets of Madrid. Even while demonstrating his renowned soccer skills, bystanders, unaware of his true identity due to his appearance, largely ignored him. Many of those fans later expressed regret upon realizing they had overlooked the football star in disguise.

Religious Beliefs:

While Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed admiration for Islam, calling it a beautiful religion, he identifies himself as a devout Roman Catholic. His Catholic upbringing was such that as a youngster, he even served as an altar boy in the parish of Santo António in Funchal.

Controversy with Buddhism:

Ronaldo once faced backlash for a social media post perceived as showing disrespect towards Buddhism. The contentious photo via social media depicted him casually standing with his hands in his pockets, with one foot resting on a statue of Gautama Buddha. Despite the criticism from some members of the Buddhist community, Ronaldo chose not to remove the post, which led to disappointment among some of his followers from the religion.

Tattoos and Donations:

Distinct from many of his peers who sport various tattoos, Ronaldo remains tattoo-free. His decision not to get inked is closely tied to his commitment to health and philanthropy, as he is an avid blood donor. Tattoos can sometimes restrict how often a person can donate blood, and Ronaldo chooses to keep his skin clear to avoid these restrictions. Additionally, Ronaldo has extended his altruism by becoming a bone marrow donor, further exemplifying his dedication to helping others.

Speculation on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Sexual Orientation:

Several years ago, there was speculation that Cristiano Ronaldo could have had a romantic affair with Moroccan kickboxer Badr Hari. This speculation was fueled by reports in the Spanish media of Ronaldo’s frequent visits to Morocco to spend time with Hari. Adding to the speculation was a photograph posted by Hari with a teasing caption: “Just married. Hahahaha.”

The Mayorga Case:

Kathryn Mayorga, an American from Nevada, once filed a lawsuit against Cristiano Ronaldo, alleging he sexually assaulted her in 2009 at a popular Las Vegas hotel after meeting her in a nightclub. She accused Ronaldo of sending a team of “fixers” to derail the criminal investigation and alleged she was coerced into accepting a settlement of $375,000 for her silence. Ronaldo has consistently denied these allegations, maintaining that his conscience is clear. Mayorga has expressed reluctance to share her story publicly, citing the overwhelming influence of Ronaldo’s celebrity status.

Ronaldo’s Shortcomings:

The Story of Ronaldo and Albert Fantrau:

Before Ronaldo’s career took off at Sporting Lisbon and then Manchester United, there’s a touching tale of his friendship with Albert Fantrau. During a game watched by a scout who promised a spot in Sporting’s academy to the top scorer, Ronaldo was given the chance to score a third goal after Fantrau, already having scored once, passed up a clear opportunity to score his second. When asked why he chose to assist Ronaldo instead of scoring himself, Fantrau simply said, “Because Ronaldo is better than me.” This act of selflessness allegedly cost Fantrau his chance at stardom. Years later, it’s said that Ronaldo has helped Fantrau live a comfortable life in gratitude for his sacrifice, though the authenticity of this story has been questioned.

CR7 Museum Insights:

Cristiano Ronaldo has established a museum dedicated to his football achievements in his birthplace, Madeira. Managed by his older brother, Hugo dos Santos Aveiro, the museum showcases Ronaldo’s impressive collection of over 150 awards and trophies. The facility is designed with additional space to accommodate future accolades, which Ronaldo anticipates winning.

Closing Thoughts:

Cristiano Ronaldo’s journey from humble beginnings to global superstardom is not a fleeting tale. His biography exemplifies a poignant truth about our world: that many people fail simply because they don’t realize how close they were to success when they decided to give up.

Ronaldo’s ascent from a modest background underscores the invaluable support he received from his family. Despite financial constraints, Ronaldo’s parents ensured he lacked nothing of true value.

His father, José Dinis Aveiro, left his job as a kit man to support his son’s burgeoning football career, while his mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, remained in Portugal to oversee her son’s development, even as other family members moved to Australia. In the absence of their late father, Hugo dos Santos Aveiro stepped in to provide paternal guidance.

Ronaldo’s sisters, Katia Aveiro and Elma dos Santos Aveiro, have also played protective roles, often coming to their brother’s defense against career adversaries. The biography also touches upon Kathryn Mayorga, the woman who has accused Ronaldo of rape, offering another dimension to his story.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Son, Cristiano Jr, Lifts Saudi U13 Premier League Trophy While Wearing Captain's Armband

C ristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr side look unlikely to win the Saudi Pro League title this season as they currently trail unbeaten leaders Al-Hilal by nine points with 12 rounds of fixtures remaining.

But the club's under-13 team, led by Ronaldo's eldest son, Cristiano Jr, won their league last month , three weeks before their final fixture.

That final fixture took place on Sunday when Cristiano Jr and Co ended their Saudi U13 Premier League campaign by beating Al-Shabab 2-0.

After the game, Al Nassr's junior stars were presented with their prize.

Cristiano Jr - who was wearing the captain's armband and the no.7 jersey just like his dad - was the first player to get his hands on the shiny gold trophy.

He also featured prominently in a post on the club's official Instagram account.

Five photos - including one of Cristiano Jr posing with the trophy - were captioned: "Present Champions. Future stars".

Ronaldo's girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez - who is not Cristiano Jr's biological mother - replied with a heart emoji followed by a crown.

Rodriguez later shared a photo of Cristiano Jr via her Instagram story alongside the words: "Mini The best CR".

Meanwhile, Ronaldo responded by sharing two photos of his son on his Instagram story with the message: "Congrats team!"

Cristiano Jr was born in California in 2010 to a surrogate mother. He will turn 14 on June 17.

He signed for Al Nassr last year , having previously played at junior level for Juventus, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
