From the classic knock-knock jokes to some cheeky puns, let me help you take your humor game to the next level. Let the laughter begin!
What is Joke Telling in Presentations?
Joke telling, for the purpose of livening up a presentation or spicing up a speech, is an art form. Jokes and punchlines bring levity to a presentation, but if done incorrectly can fall flat or worse, offend. On one hand, when used appropriately, jokes can provide comedic relief that allows the audience to connect with the speaker and adjusts the mood from serious to positive. On the other hand, it can be extremely risky because humor is subjective to individual taste and when words are spoken publicly any misinterpretations can be difficult to remedy. Therefore, it is essential to consider an audience’s sense of humor and align it with humour appropriate for the subject matter. The art of crafting punchlines requires skillful delivery as every joke setup requires a payoff they will find funny. It is all about timing. Punchlines should be delivered with clarity, confidence , and conviction by using subtle vocal intonation such as raising or lowering of one’s voice at the right moment. Knowing when to pause before or after makes all the difference in how funny a punchline will be received by an audience. With practice, anyone can become an expert joke-teller that adds comic relief to their presentations.
The Art of Crafting Punchlines
Crafting punchlines that effectively punctuate your presentation can be an effective way to add humor and insight into a topic. Crafting and delivering a well balanced joke are essential components of comedic timing and ensures that the audience is engaged when listening to you. To craft the perfect punchline, you must consider two important aspects of writing: timing and structure. When it comes to timing, the punchline should come in at the exact moment when your audience thought you had finished talking. You must focus on a consistent rhythm, as this will let your audience know what kind of impression you’re trying to make, allowing them to anticipate the punchline and find it hilarious. Additionally, the structure of your punchline has a great effect on its delivery. When constructing a joke, you need to make sure that each component makes sense and serves its function in the overall joke. A single misspoken word or poorly placed pause can easily disrupt an otherwise good joke. Additionally, remember to keep things short and sweet; often, overly wordy jokes lack impact due to all the fluff around them. The art of crafting punchlines has both technical and artistic components, as any good comedian knows that proper timings and structuring is essential for making a joke successful. Next, we will dive into the techniques behind telling jokes that really get laughs from an audience.
Here are the first 10 public speaking jokes:
- “I used to be afraid of public speaking… but then I realized everyone in the audience is just as scared as I am.”
- They say that public speaking is one of people’s greatest fears.. . which is why at a funeral, most people would rather be in the casket than giving the eulogy.”
- “Why did the public speaker get a standing ovation? Because he finally stopped talking.”
- Public speaking tip: Start with a joke to break the ice… or in my case, break the tension.”
- “I’m not saying I’m a great public speaker, but I do have a black belt in awkward pauses.”
- I always prepare for public speaking by practicing in front of a mirror… it’s the only way I can make eye contact with someone who won’t judge me.
- “They say that the key to public speaking is to imagine the audience in their underwear… but I tried it once and it just made things even more awkward.”
- “I’ve been told that I have a face for radio and a voice for silent movies… but here I am, giving a public speech.”
- “Public speaking is a lot like driving a car… you need to keep your eyes on the road and avoid hitting any potholes.”
- “Why did the public speaker wear a wig and a fake mustache? To deliver a convincing TED talk.”
The Techniques Behind Telling Jokes
The technique behind telling jokes is an important element of making sure the audience finds the joke funny. Many people make the mistake of thinking that if they are funny, then the audience will find their jokes funny as well. However, humor is subjective, and what might sound funny to one person can fall flat for others. Therefore, it’s important to understand the different techniques behind telling jokes so that your comedy is well-received by everyone. To begin, it’s essential to be aware of timing when delivering a joke . A joke too early in your presentation may end up taking away from more important points you need to make while a joke too late after those points might be forgotten. Also think about how quickly you deliver the punchline of your joke. If it’s delivered too quickly, or abruptly, your audience may be caught off guard and miss its effectiveness. Another technique to consider is understanding how to structure your delivery . This includes things like varying your loudness and inflection when setting up the joke versus delivering the punch line; this will help emphasize the element of surprise for those listening and make them laugh even more. Additionally, consider opting for shorter jokes with fewer words but still finding creative ways to set them up so that they connect with your overall point and tie into something relevant for the group you are speaking too; this will help get audiences even more engaged with what you have to say. Ultimately, there is no right or wrong way when it comes to telling jokes in a public speaking setting; each speaker should find what works best for their personal style while also considering lessons they have learned from practice runs or experience speaking at other events. While some speakers may prefer longer jokes while others opt for shorter ones – knowing these key elements of effective comedy can ensure everyone in attendance gets a good laugh before going back to taking notes on the presentation. With these techniques in mind, let’s turn our focus towards exploring “The Benefits of Public Speaking Jokes.
The Benefits of Public Speaking Jokes
The purpose of public speaking jokes are not just for comedy. While at face value, they do lighten the mood and provide immediate entertainment , underlying benefits to jokes during a presentation can have longer-term impacts that assist in better engaging an audience. Contextualized properly within the narrative of a presentation, insights from resulting laughter lead to increased engagement while also paving the way to more meaningful conversations. The use of humor has been proven to break barriers and stigma between speaker and audience—straight away gaining trust and respect. Jokes also help keep your material fresh; constantly reminding listeners why they stay tuned to your presentation. Furthermore, telling a joke can help defuse negative situations caused by dissention or distractions stemming from the audience. On the other hand, it is important to note that with any comedic element used in presentations, there is risk involved. Poorly delivered punchlines or misappropriated humor can turn off the audience and even cause harm to the topic being discussed—rapidly souring the atmosphere of any presentation. It is therefore important for presenters to carefully consider their use of humor as it conveys message as strong as any technical fact or figure. By juggling these opposing issues, public speaking jokes can enhance presentations by breaking down boundaries between speaker and audience, delivering content within refreshment contexts, uniting fragmented audiences under collective laughter and providing power through authentically delivered messages. As such, how telling jokes enhances presentations is an element worth further consideration.
How Telling Jokes Enhances Presentations
It’s no secret that humor has a practical place in the art of public speaking . Used correctly, jokes can enhance the experience of your presentation and create a more memorable atmosphere for you and your audience. Here are a few reasons why laughing is your best bet when it comes to delivering a successful address. One powerful advantage of using jokes in your speeches is that well-crafted humor can help keep your audience engaged . A joke serves as an emotional hook for attendees and helps keep them interested in what you’re saying by capturing their attention and establishing a connection with them. Furthermore, many people are much more likely to remember funny stories, which can help them recall key concepts from your speech even after it’s over. Another reason to keep things light-hearted is that humor helps reduce performance anxiety by lightening the mood before you reach the podium. Writers such as Richard Harris and Andrew Tarvin would agree that one of the most difficult aspects of public speaking is simply getting up on stage, but telling a joke can break the tension and make both you and your audience feel more comfortable in the moment. Similarly, laughter may also help people relax while they listen, resulting in greater focus and understanding. On the other hand, there is some debate over whether every speech should contain jokes. While there’s no denying that humor can improve overall interest in a presentation, there’s also always the risk that a joke may be perceived as too off-color or inappropriate for a formal environment . As mentioned above, public speakers must be mindful about their level of wit when addressing an audience; This means that tasteful joke selection is paramount if you want to avoid any potential problems with colleagues or viewers. In conclusion, incorporating humorous remarks into your speeches may help boost engagement levels, set an enjoyable tone, and combat unease among audiences. With these strategies in mind, let’s move on to learn some tips and tricks on how to add genuine levity to presentations.
Here are 10 more public speaking jokes:

Humor Tips and Tricks
Humor is an essential part of a successful public speaking presentation. Not only does it help lighten the mood and liven up the atmosphere in the room, but it also helps to create a more engaging and memorable presentation . While there is no one-size-fits-all formula for humor, there are some tips and tricks that can help you inject humor into your presentation. The most important tip for adding humor is to be authentic. If your audience can tell that you’re not comfortable telling jokes, or having a sense of humor, they will likely not respond well. Instead, focus on being yourself while you’re presenting and look for subtle opportunities to lighten the mood by using self-deprecating humor or referencing your own experiences or observations. You don’t need to be a stand-up comic in order to add wit and charm to your talk, just speak genuinely and authentically with a lighthearted air. Another tip for injecting humor into your talk is to keep the tone appropriate. Make sure that your jokes are appropriate for the occasion; if you’re speaking at an event with children present, it’s probably best to avoid using any language that might be considered inappropriate or racy. Similarly, don’t rely heavily on stereotypes or stereotype jokes; these types of jokes may come across as offensive or inappropriate. Finally, be mindful of cultural differences and sensitivities; even if a joke works well elsewhere, there might be nuances specific to your audience that could cause offense. Finally, remember the importance of timing when invoking humor in public speaking presentations. Jokes rarely work if they are delivered too slowly or quickly; instead, find ways to keep your delivery natural by practicing delivering your presentation until you have it down pat with all the associated intonations for when the joke should occur. Keeping this timing intact also ensures that any potentially funny moments will not get lost as people laugh at prior jokes or stories in your talk . Ultimately, while humor can make any public speaking presentation more enjoyable and engaging , it should never take away from the overall message of your talk – jokes should always supplement rather than overshadow your main points. When used appropriately and authentically, humor can help create a lasting impression on the audience long after your presentation has ended . By crafting hilarious stories and punchlines to use throughout their presentations, speakers can successfully use humor as an effective tool for delivering their message effectively. In the next section we will discuss taking these tips into account when crafting funny stories and punchlines that invite laughter from both young and old audiences alike.
Crucial Highlights
Humor can be a great way to add charm and wit to a public speaking presentation. However, it is important that the tone of humor is appropriate for the occasion and audience. Additionally, speakers should be mindful of cultural differences and sensitivities when using humor. Furthermore, timing when delivering jokes is crucial; it is important to know when to deliver the punchline for maximum comedic impact. Lastly, remember that humorous anecdotes should supplement rather than overshadow the overall message of a talk.
Crafting Funny Stories and Punchlines
Crafting humorous stories and punchlines is an art form. Not all presenters are naturally funny, but there are ways to increase your comedic prowess. On one hand, crafting your own jokes allows for originality and customization for your specific audience and presentation. This can help increase your performance’s impact as a personal touch can be more memorable to listeners than generic jokes. Creating unique content allows you the opportunity to practice joke-telling in a way that maximizes impact and leaves your listeners laughing and engaged. On the other hand, using prepared jokes carries its own benefits. This can help reduce any performance nerves as they have been tried and tested by other comedians. Additionally, if you are new to presentation design or don’t consider yourself too funny, it can provide a safety net of ready-made material. Drawing on proven jokes can insure that even if your audience isn’t amazed, you can be confident that they will at least laugh at the stories or punchlines you selected. Both methods of comedy-creation carry their own pros and cons; ultimately it depends on the presenter’s comfort level with delivering joke material. Whether you choose to create unique content from scratch or use existing jokes, adding humor should never distract from the success of your presentation as a whole. With careful consideration for the right timing and attitude, humor can be a powerful tool in capturing an audience’s attention. Next we’ll discuss how to find the right jokes for your audience.
How to Find the Right Jokes for Your Audience
Finding the right jokes to throw into your presentation is an essential part of public speaking, but it’s also an area that can be tricky to navigate without experience. When selecting jokes and other humorous elements, there are a few points to keep in mind. First, you want the jokes to stay true to your subject matter. It can help if you know a lot about your topic, as this will make it easier for you to draw up relevant jokes that may even reference specific points in the presentation. However, some speakers take a different approach and use jokes as an opportunity to create an interesting distraction from the main point. There are benefits and drawbacks to both approaches; if you choose the latter, make sure not to cheapen your message or distract too much from the main idea of your talk. Second, consider the type of audience you’re addressing. Are they well-versed in your subject matter? Will they appreciate obscure references or would something more overt be better? And most importantly, what kind of comedic style do they prefer? A joke that works well with one group might come off as offensive or awkward with another. You don’t want undecided voters at a political debate out of fear of making the wrong joke! Finally, take into consideration how often you introduce humor into your speech . Many presentations begin amicably enough with some appropriate levity, but overdoing it can be counter-productive — no one wants a speech that’s all laughs and no information! Use humor in moderation so it can have its intended effect when it appears. When selecting jokes and humorous elements for your speech, be mindful of the content and context while keeping an eye on pacing and frequency.
Final Tips for Becoming a Jokester
As a public speaker, you can use humor to engage your audience and spice up any presentation. To capitalize on this, you’ll need to become a jokester – someone who can insert funny remarks and witty one-liners on the fly. It requires finesse, though, so to help you out here are some tips for becoming a jokester: First, make sure you know your audience . Crafting the perfect joke is not much good if it falls flat with an unappreciative audience or worse yet, offends them in any way. Take time to get to know those you will be addressing during your presentation and use that knowledge to tailor your delivery. Second, strive for authenticity. Simple jokes may get the job done momentarily but don’t rely on them too often. Just like public speaking itself, jokes should stem from personal experiences and insights since that’s usually what resonates most with listeners. This can take practice though; prepare yourself by writing down ideas or potential topics that you may want to cover in advance of speaking. Third, pay attention to timing. When telling a joke (or even making a quip) timing is everything so using natural pauses throughout your talk can really help enhance the humor element within a presentation. One thing to keep in mind is that silence is awkward so be aware when it goes on for too long as it can make the joke lose its humor and effectiveness. Finally, remember that humor should be used as seasoning – sprinkle a few lighthearted references throughout your talk but don’t overdo it. Although humorous moments can create powerful connections with your audience and offer something for them to remember about your speech days later, too much joking can have adverse effects if handled improperly. There are many strategies outlined above that can help turn any public speaker into a jokester. But before reaching the conclusion of this article there is one more step to consider – deciding how far is too far when introducing comedic moments into serious talks…
In conclusion, adding public speaking jokes while giving a presentation can help to entertain the audience and provide lighthearted moments that help to keep them engaged throughout the entire presentation. However, it is important to be aware of the risks of using such jokes, like potentially offending members of the audience or not being well-received. Ultimately, if used appropriately, public speaking jokes are an excellent way to make a presentation more entertaining and enjoyable for everyone involved. It is necessary to take into consideration who your audience is when considering what kind of jokes you should use. If you are giving a presentation primarily to younger people, then it may be more appropriate to use more modern references or “pop culture” humor than if presenting to a room full of older people. Additionally, carefully researching the topic of your presentation beforehand and using any relevant information in your jokes can really help them land with the crowd. Ultimately, humor can be used as a powerful tool in a presentation and can make people more engaged in what you have to say. It is important for presenters to be self-aware about their capabilities as well as their audience in order to ensure that their jokes will receive positive responses. By following these guidelines and abiding by professional etiquette , speakers can use public speaking jokes effectively and boost their presentations’ impact on an audience.
Common Questions Explained
What are some topics that are off-limits for public speaking jokes.
Some topics that are off-limits for public speaking jokes include topics related to race or ethnicity, religion, politics, gender or sexual orientation, disability, and illness. Using jokes about these topics can cause deep offense and hurt the audiences’ feelings. Additionally, any topic that could potentially be considered offensive or insensitive should be avoided. Jokes about controversial topics have the potential to spark heated debates and detract from the main point of your presentation. Additionally, jokes about violence, death, war and crime are also not appropriate for public speaking. It is important to remember that humor should always remain respectful as well as appropriate to the current audience when using jokes in public speaking. Keeping these ideas in mind will help to ensure that your audience enjoys the presentation without being offended by it.
How can I use jokes to break the ice for a public speaking event?
Using jokes to break the ice at a public speaking event can be an effective way to win over your audience and set the stage for a positive atmosphere. Jokes are an excellent conversation starter and can help alleviate the stress of a live performance. The key is to choose jokes that are universally funny and appropriate for all ages. This means avoiding jokes that might be offensive or tasteless, as these can backfire and potentially leave the audience feeling uncomfortable. Pick jokes that relate to your topic in some way and weave them into your presentation style in such a way that they feel natural to hear. Remember, the goal is to make people laugh, not interfere with their concentration on what you’re saying. Laughter is contagious and will help create an enjoyable atmosphere for your entire presentation!
What are some tips for using humor when public speaking?
When using humor when public speaking, the following tips can help you create an engaging and successful presentation: 1. Know your audience: Before adding any jokes to your speech, make sure you know your audience and their sense of humor. This will help ensure that your jokes are appropriate and not offensive to anyone in the room. 2. Choose appropriate material: Make sure the jokes or humorous stories you select are relevant to the topic of your presentation, as this will further engage your audience. Avoid inappropriate or off-color humor too. 3. Practice: Timing is key when it comes to humorous speaking, so practice each joke until you have it down before delivering it in front of an audience. Don’t overdo it either—jokes should be used sparingly with other content to keep the focus on the main message of your presentation. 4. Tell the truth: An effective way to use humor is to tell a personal story about a funny experience you once had related to the topic of your presentation. People appreciate honesty and genuine self-deprecating stories are often more endearing than fabricated ones. 5. Relax: One final tip for using humor when public speaking is to remain relaxed throughout your presentation and trust in yourself—your delivery and timing will naturally become better with practice, so don’t be afraid to dig a little deeper into your own experiences for material.
15 Public speaking jokes and Ice Breakers
Getting a speech going can be very difficult at times. A typical audience member might have no idea who you are, and might not care about the topic of your speech. In order to break this barrier between speaker and audience, you should try starting off with a joke! This way the audience will feel more comfortable with you being up there talking. Also, if the joke goes over well, they will be more likely to like you and stay engaged for the duration of your speech.
Below are some jokes that might get your audience to laugh and make them interested in what you have to say.
1. “Ladies and Gentlemen, I was very honored when I received the invitation letter to come speak to this group this evening. But I must admit, I didn’t expect so many of you.”
2. “What did the magician say to his business partner?” “You may think I’m magic, but today is our day off!”
3. “Where’s Waldo?” “I don’t know where he is, let me check with the audience.”
4. “How do bees get to work?” “They take the tubes!”
5. “This is my first speech tonight, and hopefully not my last.”
6. “What time is it when an elephant sits on your fence?” “Time to mend the fence.”
7. What did the judge say when the skunk walked into the courtroom? “Odor in the court!”
8. “I just came from a job interview, and I definitely won’t be getting that position.”
9. What do you call a penguin who’s just been promoted? “Sir-penguin”
10. How do you keep your shoes from going black? “Take them to the tannery!”
11. Why did the scarecrow win an award? He was outstanding in his field!
12. If two’s a company, and three’s a crowd, what are four and five? Nine!
13. Knock knock! Who’s there? Banana! Banana who? Knock knock banana anyone!
14. Two antennas meet on a roof, fall in love and get married. The ceremony isn’t going too well, so the priest asks if they want to try again. The antennas agree but are interrupted by thunder and lightning, so have to take shelter under a nearby tree. A squirrel runs up excitedly with an acorn and tries to give it to the female of the antennas, who is now very upset at her husband for revealing their secret location!
15. “What kind of music do they play on the radio station that never plays any music?”
Ice breakers are a great way to start off any speech. If the speaker just got up there and started talking, it would seem awkward and forced. The audience also wouldn’t know how to react and might feel uncomfortable with you just yet.
Starting out with a joke makes everyone laugh, and then they can listen to what you have to say without feeling stressed or intimidated. It’s kind of like on TV when the teacher gets up in front of the class on their first day! They usually use an ice breaker such as asking for someone’s name, etc., so that they can get to know the students before starting on their lesson plan later on in the day.
How do you start a fun speech?
An ice breaker is a great way to start your speech. Using jokes, stories, and intriguing anecdotes are all great ways to get the attention of an audience.
The first impression is the most important. If you make a bad first impression, then it will be hard to gain back that person’s or persons’ good opinion. The good thing about making a great first impression is that people of any age and of either gender can enjoy ice breakers.
Ice breakers can be very fun and enjoyable to create. Making up a new one every time you present a speech is overrated, but there are some that can be reused with different variations. For example, you could ask people in the room what their favorite ice cream flavor is and then give a story about how that flavor represents them or represents what they like.
Ice breakers also let the audience know that you are no expert and do not expect too much from you, because it is a known occurrence that sometimes speakers do poorly; therefore, making an ice breaker shows the audience that this may happen but understand if it doesn’t. However, it is better for a speaker to never bomb a speech, so revision is key.
Ice breakers are simple ways to engage an audience. It can also help them get to know each other on some level, which may be the only thing they take away from your presentation. Sometimes it’s just nice for people to connect with one another.
You do not have to worry about your ice breaker being the highlight of the presentation. There are bigger things to worry about like making sincere eye contact with everyone in front of you , not saying too much or too little, and having good body language. An ice breaker can be used as an introduction to set up what comes after it; for example, this is what my speech is going to be about.
An ice breaker can also help if you feel like you don’t want to do a presentation at all. Ice breakers will engage the audience immediately and give them something they can relate to that will make them open up more. You might end up with some great questions!
So keep your sanity intact by doing an icebreaker every now and again! It will make doing presentations a whole lot easier.

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Groan and you groan alone: Gyles Brandreth on why bad jokes are still funny
He is often regarded as the quintessential Englishman but Gyles Brandreth has revealed his funnybone was forged in Scotland.
The actor, writer, TV presenter and former politician has been collecting – and writing – jokes all his life, and now, in these difficult times, he has gathered them together in a collection he describes as both the best and worst joke book in the world.
From his love of DC Thomson comics like The Dandy and Topper in his childhood, to idolising Scots comedy greats Duncan MacRae and Stanley Baxter, to having his life changed at the Edinburgh Fringe, Gyles, 72, says he has always looked north for laughs.
“My mother’s family was from Glasgow and, growing up in the 50s, I used to read all the Dundee comics and collect the jokes from them,” explained the former Conservative MP.
“The first letter I ever sent to someone who wasn’t a family member was to DC Thomson. I sent a joke – it was a joke about a joke…have you heard the joke about the pancake? Probably not, it fell flat.
“As a child, one of my role models was Duncan MacRae, who was a wonderful man. He had this lugubrious manner and waved his fingers around while performing these extraordinary poems. I tried to learn the poems of William McGonagall as a child. Duncan used to do similar poems and was hilarious.
“I worked on some books together with Kenneth Williams and one of his best friends was Stanley Baxter. I got to know him and went to see him in Mother Goose at pantomime. I thought he was the funniest man I’d ever seen. There is no doubt Stanley’s Mother Goose is the greatest panto performance since Dan Leno, the English comic who was the first Mother Goose in 1902.
“Stanley told me a couple of Scottish knock knock jokes that I’ve included in the book. Knock knock. Who’s there? Thistle. Thistle who? Thistle’ll be the last time I knock on your door. And then there is The Krankies. I used to go to their shows, but then they told me about their swinging lifestyle, so my wife stopped me, she said it would lead me into temptation and was too dangerous.”
Gyle’s love of jokes can be traced back to his father.
“Everything he did was full of jokes, so I was brought up on them. He had a collection of joke books I loved.
“I remember he had a dribble glass, which was a crystal glass with little cuts in it, so whenever you drank from it, you dribbled. My sisters were 10 years older than me and when they brought their boyfriends round, he would give them the dribble glass.”
When Gyles and his wife, Michele, had three children, he dusted down his dad’s joke books, which were from the Victorian era. But Michele said some of the jokes were politically incorrect and threw them out, so Gyles began writing his own, as well as collecting them.
After complaining about the quality of jokes in Christmas crackers, a manufacturer employed Gyles in the 70s to write his own. He then wrote jokes for Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal boxes. He amassed piles of notebooks full of wisecracks, and when lockdown began he went into the basement and dug them out, both to entertain his seven grandchildren and with a view to compiling a definitive book.
And scientists now back up his long-held belief that even bad jokes are good for us. “Recent research by Oxford University and Aalto University in Finland has shown that not only is laughter good for us, but groaning at bad jokes is too, because it’s something we do as a collective, a community.”
At this time of year, Gyles would usually be spending the month in Edinburgh at the Fringe.
“I lost my seat when Tony Blair came in and I didn’t know what to do, and a friend said I should go to the Fringe. I thought they would loathe me, but my friend said they didn’t know what a Conservative MP was up there because it had been so long.
“I did a show called Zipp, which was 100 musicals in 100 minutes, and we received a standing ovation and won awards. Since then, for the last 20 years, I’ve been a regular. It’s been a wonderful thing for me – it was like being reborn. It’s strange not being there. I always associated the Fringe and Edinburgh with Nicholas Parsons, who last appeared on stage there last year. He was actually taken ill there and I had to host a couple of Just A Minute shows in his place.
“We would take a flat up there, go for dinner together and have good times. He carried on until he was 96, which is not a bad innings. He was a great role model. If I can equal his record, I’ll still be appearing at the Fringe in 2045.”
What’s Black And White And Red All Over? is published by Puffin.
Funny ha ha?
Here are just a few of Gyles Brandreth’s favourite jokes as featured in his new book of gags that may be so bad they’re good…or just so bad.
A team of small animals and a team of big animals decided to play football. During the first half of the game, the big animals were winning 2-0, but during the second half a centipede came on the pitch and scored so many goals that the small animals won the game. When it was over, the captain of the big animals’ team (a gorilla) asked the centipede where he was during the first half. The centipede says: “Putting on my boots”.
Knock knock
Who’s there?
Mikey doesn’t fit in the keyhole!
Knock! Knock!
A little old lady A little old lady who?
Wow, I didn’t know you could yodel!
Why did the giraffe do badly at schools?
He had his head in the clouds.
What do you call a bear with no ears? B
What has four legs and goes “Oom, oom”?
A cow going backwards.
Which animal is out of bounds?
An exhausted kangaroo.
“Waiter, there’s a dead fly in my soup!”
“Don’t be silly, dead flies can’t swim.”
Father Tortoise ordered vanilla ice cream, Mother Tortoise ordered strawberry ice cream and little Tommy Tortoise ordered chocolate ice cream. The family was just about to start eating when Father Tortoise said: “I think it’s going to rain. Would you pop home please, Tommy, and fetch my umbrella?” Off went Tommy. Three days later, he still hadn’t returned. “I think,” said Mother Tortoise to Father Tortoise, “that we had better eat Tommy’s ice cream before it melts. A voice from just by the café door yelled out: “If you do that, I won’t go”.
“Doctor, doctor, I can’t get to sleep.”
“Lie on the edge of the bed and you’ll soon drop off.”

What is Speechmeme?
Speechmeme is a tool that allows you to easily turn images into trendy and popular speech bubble memes, often seen in chat messages on social platforms like discord.
What type of images do you support?
You can currently use any image format such as JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, SVG, WEBP, TIFF, AI, PSD, EPS, PDF, SVG, and more.
Why did you make this?
I made this tool because I often found content on Discord and other social media platforms that needed to be turned into a speech bubble meme. However, when I tried to find a reliable speech bubble meme generator on Google, I couldn't find any suitable websites. Let's be honest, nobody wants to search for a template and then go through the trouble of editing it to fit their needs. That's why I created this tool.
Why is the output image always of type '.gif'?
Discord only permits you to star/favorite gifs. Since many people enjoy favoriting speech bubble memes, I concluded it was the optimal choice to make.
Can I delete my images?
Images uploaded to our public gallery can be easily deleted by clicking on the little trash can icon in the top right corner of your post.
Is this free?
This speech bubble meme maker will forever stay free. I hope you enjoy using it!
Speech Bubble Meme Makers
Dive into the fascinating world of speech bubble meme makers and discover the art of creating hilarious and relatable memes.
With the rise of social media and digital communication, memes have become a universal language . They are a fun and creative way to express thoughts, ideas, and emotions. One popular type of meme involves adding speech bubbles to images, creating a comic-like effect. This article delves into the world of speech bubble meme makers, their features, and how to use them effectively.
Understanding Speech Bubble Memes
Speech bubble memes are a type of image macro that includes a picture with a speech bubble added. The speech bubble typically contains a humorous or witty caption that relates to the image. These memes are popular on social media platforms, forums, and other online communities.
Creating a speech bubble meme involves selecting an image, adding a speech bubble , and inserting a caption. The process can be simple or complex, depending on the meme maker tool used and the desired outcome.
The Appeal of Speech Bubble Memes
Speech bubble memes have a unique appeal. They combine visual and textual elements, making them more engaging than text-only posts. The speech bubble format also allows for a narrative or dialogue, adding another layer of creativity.
Furthermore, speech bubble memes are versatile. They can be used for humor, commentary, storytelling, and more. This versatility makes them a popular choice for both personal and professional use.
Choosing a Speech Bubble Meme Maker
There are numerous speech bubble meme makers available, each with its own features and capabilities. When choosing a tool, consider factors such as ease of use, customization options, and output quality.
Some meme makers are web-based, requiring no download or installation. Others are software programs that you install on your computer. There are also mobile apps for creating memes on the go.
Key Features to Look For
When choosing a speech bubble meme maker, look for features that will make the creation process easier and more enjoyable. These may include a user-friendly interface, a variety of speech bubble styles, text editing tools, and a library of images.
Additionally, consider the output options. Some tools allow you to save your meme as an image file, while others let you share it directly to social media. The best meme makers offer both options, giving you flexibility in how you use your creations.
Creating a Speech Bubble Meme
Creating a speech bubble meme is a straightforward process. First, you select an image. This can be a photo, a drawing, a screenshot, or any other type of image. Next, you add a speech bubble and insert your caption. Finally, you save or share your meme.
While the process is simple, there are tips and tricks that can help you create more effective memes. These include choosing the right image, crafting a clever caption, and positioning the speech bubble for maximum impact.
Selecting the Right Image
The image is the foundation of your meme. It sets the tone and context for your caption. Therefore, it’s important to choose an image that aligns with your message. This could be a funny photo, a dramatic scene, a familiar meme template, or anything else that fits your concept.
When selecting an image, also consider its quality and clarity. A high-resolution image will produce a better-looking meme. However, keep in mind that some meme makers have file size limits, so you may need to resize or compress your image.
Crafting a Clever Caption
The caption is the heart of your meme. It’s what makes it funny, insightful, or thought-provoking. When crafting your caption, aim for brevity and wit. Memes are meant to be quick and punchy, so avoid long or complicated sentences.
Also, consider your audience. What will they find amusing or interesting? What references or inside jokes will they understand? Tailoring your caption to your audience can make your meme more effective.
Positioning the Speech Bubble
The position of the speech bubble can affect the readability and impact of your meme. Ideally, the speech bubble should be placed near the speaker’s mouth, following the natural reading direction (left to right, top to bottom). This makes it clear who is “speaking” and in what order.
Also, ensure that the speech bubble and text are clearly visible against the image. You may need to adjust the size, color, or outline of the speech bubble to achieve this.
Speech bubble memes are a fun and creative way to communicate online. With the right meme maker tool, you can easily create your own memes and share them with the world. Whether you’re a seasoned meme creator or a beginner, there’s a speech bubble meme maker out there for you.
Remember, the key to a great meme is a combination of a fitting image, a clever caption, and a well-placed speech bubble. With these elements in place, you’re well on your way to creating engaging and entertaining speech bubble memes.

Bubble Talk In Speech Therapy
Sep 23, 2014 | 1 comment
Today I want to share how to use Bubble Talk in speech therapy with your upper elementary and middle school students. When I saw this game at Target, I had to have it. I think you will want it too! The format of the game is similar to Apples to Apples. You place a photo card in the middle of the table and each player finds a “talk caption” that they think would best represent the people or animals in the photo and puts it face down in a pile.
The judge shuffles the cards and then reads the talk bubbles out loud for the group. Next, the judge picks the “talk bubble” that they think goes best with the photo and that person gets a point. This ends the round and then you get a new photo. Everyone can be the judge, but I was the judge in the speech room to avoid too much conflict.
There are pictures on both sides of the cards, so there are plenty of cards to make this game last for a while.
Here is how I use this game in therapy:
- Each round is really quick, so it is a great reinforcer for fluency and articulation goals in between production practice.
- I used my visual attribute strip and had my vocabulary students describe something in the photo. Above is a picture of a baby in a drawer. The student had to describe the dresser by attributes.
- My higher functioning social thinkers really liked this game and I got a lot of spontaneous eye contact, comments and initiation without prompting or asking. This is also a great way to incorporate humor.
- Most of these photos require people to use context clues to determine what is happening. These photos are great for working making smart guesses, inferencing and predictions.
- Use these photos to have students create sentences using conjunctions, noun-verb agreement, and verb tense.
- Let the students bring in photos from home to use with the game. Before using the picture, the student has to retell who, what, where, when, and why about the photo. This targets personal narration and language organization.
- Talking about what is expected vs. unexpected about the photo and what the person may be feeling or thinking can be incorporated. There is a photo of a man dressed as “super man” trimming the hedges in his yard. We talked about how this might make people have uncomfortable thoughts about us.
- You could also target think vs. say as well as let the kids make their own talk bubble cards for fun.
Things to consider with this game:
- There are two giant stacks of talking bubble cards, which is awesome, but you need to filter through the cards to make sure they are school appropriate. I found a card “That’s what she said”. I don’t want any uncomfortable moments with my middle school boys (enough said).
- I would also filter through the photos to make sure they would be appropriate. Most are, but you just never know.
- This game is best used with kids who are exhibiting higher social thinking skills and cognition. There are a lot of underlying skills required to understand and enjoy this game. My 4th-5th general ed students loved it as well as my middle school students, so don’t be afraid to try this with upper elementary students.
You can also snag this game on amazon (amazon affiliate link provided). Since I have such awesome followers, I wanted to give this game away for FREE to one lucky person. Enter below!
Just picked this game up. I can’t wait to get started using it. Just wondering what you included on your visual attribute strip? I looked on your TPT store but couldn’t find anything like it.

Paige DeSorbo Jokes She Took a "Nap For Two Hours" While Craig Posted the Sweetest Video Tribute
In the words of Craig Conover's Southern Charm cast member, Madison LeCroy: "Awww, I'm crying."
Summer House 's Paige DeSorbo and Southern Charm 's Craig Conover 's relationship is worthy of being the subject of a romantic comedy.
How to Watch
Watch Southern Charm on Peacock and the Bravo App .
Paige first started seeing the Sewing Down South pillow magnate in May 2021, a few months after filming Winter House Season 1 together.
It's been almost three years since then and their romance has only gotten stronger. They've gone on vacations together, and have made themselves at home in each other's homes, and Craig has revealed that he plans on proposing to Paige in the future.

In honor of this Valentine's Day, Craig made the cutest video post for Paige on Instagram and it's basically like a trailer to the romantic comedy that is their life. Read on to see her hilarious reaction to it.
Craig Conover's video tribute to girlfriend, Paige DeSorbo
Craig took to his Instagram account on Feb. 13, where he posted a reel filled with little video snippets of Paige during moments from their relationship. She looks cuter than ever in the video, doing a number of things: holding up clothes, eating a variety of food items, cuddling up to Craig, riding a mechanical bull, smiling on vacation, and laughing a lot.
Craig simply captioned the post with a black heart emoji.

But it's ok, because the comments in reaction to the post made up for his lack of words.
"I take a nap for two hours and this is what happens on the internet," Paige wrote in the comments of the post, followed by a separate comment with pink heart emojis.
"CRAIG I'M ALIVE I DIDN'T DIE," she added in her third comment.
Craig's Southern Charm cast members are also loving the post. "Awww, I'm crying," Madison LeCroy wrote in the comments. "I can't with this," Summer House 's Amanda Batula added.
Craig Conover on when he's planning on proposing to Paige DeSorbo
Craig Conover and Paige Desorbo attend the Cucculelli Shaheen fashion show at New York Fashion Week on February 10, 2024 in New York City.
Craig is almost ready to take his relationship with Paige to the next step. At least, that's what he revealed during a Jan. 18 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen .
Craig Conover and Austen Kroll Share a First Look at Their New Restaurant
He told host Andy Cohen that he plans on proposing as soon as they hit the next milestone in their relationship.
"So, September [2024] will be three years," he said, referring to their next dating anniversary. "I think between two and three years is an appropriate time to get engaged."
When Andy asked if that meant that Craig would be proposing before their three-year anniversary, Craig confirmed his answer. "I guess — yeah we're gonna go with that," he said.
But, Andy noted that Craig did previously say that he would be engaged to Paige by Thanksgiving 2023 , which came and went without any ring on her finger. "That's why [the comments] don't mean anything," he joked.
Only time will tell what next Valentine's Day (or Thanksgiving) brings.

How To Add Speech Bubbles To Your Photos
By Whitney | Basic Photo Editing • Photo Editor Tutorials
There are some photos that are just asking for a speech bubble. The expression on someone’s face usually sets it off. You take one look and instantly think of the perfect caption, then proceed to laugh out loud at the perfectness of it all. They say pictures are worth a thousand words but some can be summed up in just a few hilariously fitting ones.
For all the photos you come across that would be made even better with a speech bubble, we’ve got a little something that will help you get the look in just a few clicks. Whatever the caption, you can add BeFunky’s Speech Bubble overlays to your photos and type away! They’re sure to help you share the fun with all of your friends, all in a matter of minutes.
Speech Bubbles Help Tell A Story

You can make an image hilarious by adding the right caption, or simply say exactly what you were thinking when you took that last selfie. There are many different kinds of speech bubbles that are available in BeFunky to help you tell your story. Here's a little sample of them and when to use each kind:
Similar to making memes, speech bubbles can help you get the point across in a unique way. Here are some of the best cases where speech bubbles can make your photos more amusing:
Awkward Family Photos. Family photos can be a great opportunity to add a thought or speech bubble, the more awkward the better!
Pet Photography. Since animals can say so much with their facial expressions and nonverbal cues, you can give them a voice with a speech bubble.
Photos With Your Best Friend. Because you know each other well enough that you have a million inside jokes.
For Stating Facts And Quotes. For a school project or a website, a speech bubble can be an easy and intriguing way to make a point.
How To Add A Speech Bubble In BeFunky
If you’re dying to add a speech bubble or two to your photos, BeFunky makes it incredibly easy. First, head to the Photo Editor and upload a photo.
Under the Graphics tab, click Search Graphics and then search for Speech Bubbles. Multiple options will come up, some with pre-filled text and others that are blank for you to type your own messages.
From here, you can click and drag the speech bubble wherever it fits best on your photo, and use the blue circles around it to resize and rotate. If you hold down the Shift key while dragging the blue circles, you’ll be able to resize your speech bubble in freeform!
Notice that when you click on your speech bubble, a Graphic Properties toolbar appears. In this menu, you can flip the orientation of the speech bubble so it’s facing the correct direction, if need be. The Graphic Properties toolbar also presents you with tons of options to change the color, opacity, blend mode, and more!
When you’ve got your speech bubble exactly where you want it, it’s time for the fun part: adding some text. Click on the Text tab in the left menu and select Add Text . Select the text box that appears and start typing!
From the Text Properties toolbar that appears when your text box is selected, you can change the font, font color, paragraph orientation, and more. It’s best to start by resizing your text box to fit inside the speech bubble. That way, you’ll know exactly what the end result will look like.
Once you've got your text looking perfect, you're ready to save and share your photo! Using the Save button at the top of the Photo Editor, you'll be able to save your photo to your computer, Dropbox, and more.
If you're ready to share it on social media right away, select the Share button at the top of the Photo Editor and automatically post it to your Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, or Twitter!
Take It To The Next Level With Cartoonizer
If you’re going for more of a comic book feel, we’ve got some really cool effects that will take your photo to the next level! Clicking on the Artsy tab will open a huge library of photo to art effects that will transform your photo into something that looks like it came from the pages of a graphic novel. One of the best effects for this is BeFunky’s Cartoonizer .
When you click on the Cartoonizer category, you’ll find several effects that will take you from photo to cartoon in a single click. Preview each effect on your photo until you find one you love.
Notice that each Cartoonizer effect has it’s own Settings Menu where you can control the strength of the effect, colors, and detail level. Once you're satisfied, click Save.
The best part about these Photo To Art effects is that they’re completely exclusive to BeFunky - you can’t find them anywhere else. That means you’ve got yourself a photo that’s truly unique. And just look at that detail!

She hated the chews
He was Boba-fettered.
Yes son I do.
Me: Well he's back in town and he's looking for you
Next week the museum I work at begins a three-week run of what we call Bubblefest. There will be bubbles everywhere, a bubble laser show, all kinds of exhibits and interactive shows explaining some of the science involved with bubbles. So I need some jokes and puns to replace the old standby of "my pop is bigger than your pop!"
a boba fete!
...I'll just show myself out.
I call it the HEPA-weizen.
Unbeliebubble
"Well, of course I did."
"Well, he's back in town and wants your number."
My dad told this joke to me for the first time when I was like 10.
Foam is where the art is.
Cause it was a chew chew.
I got a daughter otw, and the gf got me a book of dad jokes, more to come!
It left a bad taste in my mouth.

Any ideas on bringing Office Management and Hockey Terms together for a good team name?
I guess you could say we blow through them.
A shampoodle!
He’s back in town and wants your number
As they flew away I said 'These things really take my breath away'
I got back to back groans
The boss said “pop it in the corner”. Took me five hours!
We're all ridiculously tired and the father peeps up "Looks like everyone's bubble burst"
My sigh was strong.
Because he is a chew chew train
Chew chew train.
Me: "Yeah, why?"
Dad: "Well he's back in town and wants your number!"

Defeat to Donald Trump looms over Nikki Haley. So why stay in the race?
- Published 1 day ago
- US election 2024
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is staring down another resounding loss to Donald Trump, this time in her home state of South Carolina. But Ms Haley has vowed not to quit, raising speculation about the ambitions of her long-shot campaign.
Three days before the state primary, a crowd of Republican voters in North Augusta, South Carolina, packed shoulder-to-shoulder in to the sunny top floor of a municipal building for a Nikki Haley campaign event.
As the state's former governor, Ms Haley gave the gathering an assured and newly combative stump speech. She made frequent and pointed jabs at her rival and the Republican frontrunner, former President Donald Trump - a tactic she had long avoided.
"He was literally unhinged," she said at one point, remarking on his victory speech after the New Hampshire primary. "He's obsessed with himself," she added later.
In this room at least, Ms Haley's pitch and criticism of the former president were landing. Her jokes received loud laughs, the applause breaks were long, and at least a dozen voters in attendance told the BBC they were all in on Ms Haley.
"She's got an outstanding record," said supporter Holt Moran. "She's just the perfect person."
But again and again, when asked if Ms Haley had a chance of winning the primary - or even another Republican contest down the line - each voter seemed to wince before saying no.
"Unfortunately not," Mr Moran said.
Despite her publicly sunny outlook, the packed events, and beaming crowds, it will be nearly impossible for Ms Haley to find a path to the nomination. She has lost every contest to Mr Trump so far, and is likely to do so again on Saturday, this time in her home state.

Watch: How has Haley's tone on Trump changed?
Polls show the former UN ambassador is trailing by nearly 30 points in South Carolina and her odds are even worse in votes to come.
Barring a dramatic and unforeseen twist, Mr Trump will - for the third time in a row - be his party's nominee. But Ms Haley has so far shown no signs of quitting.
So is Ms Haley's enduring campaign a quixotic exercise or - as she says - a principled stand against Mr Trump? Or is she perhaps playing a longer game and laying the groundwork for future political ambitions?
'I refuse to quit'
With pundits and commentators - and her own party leadership - claiming she is wasting Republicans' time and money, Ms Haley has struggled to defend her resolve.
In Greenville this week, in what her campaign had billed as a "state of the race address," Ms Haley gave a 26-minute speech devoted entirely to why she still sought the Republican nomination.
"I refuse to quit," she said. "South Carolina will vote on Saturday. But on Sunday, I'll still be running for president."
- Republican hopefuls audition to be Trump’s VP pick
There, and in most public appearances since, Ms Haley has cast her enduring campaign as an act of principle, a decision meant to give Republicans an alternative to Mr Trump or President Joe Biden - who she contends are "the most disliked politicians in America".
"There are 70% of Americans who don't want another Biden-Trump rematch and 60% of Americans who think Biden and Trump are both too old," one of Ms Haley's spokeswomen, Olivia Perez-Cubas said. "They [voters] deserve a better choice."
Friends and allies of Ms Haley have insisted that her public remarks are sincere, and that she is focused solely on this year's Republican nomination.
"When you talk to her in private, she says I'm sticking with this," said Jenny Sanford-McKay, South Carolina's former first lady and Ms Haley's friend. "The opportunity for her is now."
Some contend Ms Haley is continuing as a candidate in case Mr Trump, who faces numerous criminal and civil legal challenges, suddenly had to bow out of the race.
But Republican strategists have also raised another theory: perhaps Ms Haley is looking four years ahead, with an eye toward the next presidential election in 2028.
If that is the plan, Ms Haley's current campaign would provide her a significant head start, functioning as a nationwide rehearsal for her messaging and fundraising. Even as she trails Mr Trump, Ms Haley has assembled teams in at least a dozen states and planned a seven-figure ad buy ahead of Super Tuesday on 5 March, when Republicans in 16 states will vote.
"People will remember her, and that she was a solid candidate," Ron Bonjean, a political strategist, said.
The road ahead
Deep-pocketed donors are helping her ongoing efforts by pouring millions of dollars into her campaign, with several saying publicly they see her as a competent counter to Mr Trump's chaos.
In January alone, campaign officials said Ms Haley raised $16.5m (£13m) - her largest monthly total.
That money seems to correlate with the energy on the ground. Almost in spite of the steady drum beat of bad polling, on the campaign trial this week Ms Haley appeared relaxed and upbeat, drawing out her tightly-rehearsed stump speeches with new riffs, laughing at her own jokes.
The voters in attendance seemed energised too, both about Ms Haley and about leaving Mr Trump behind.
"She's a real path forward," supporter David Hood said at a campaign event in Georgetown on Thursday. "Trump is an embarrassment."

Another voter, Tim Ferguson said he would be proud to cast his ballot for Ms Haley, after twice voting for Mr Trump. "I've always said, after I vote for him I go home and take a shower - I don't feel right," he said.
But just outside the bubble of Ms Haley's campaign and her future prospects is the reality of the current Republican Party, with a base still very much devoted to Mr Trump. And, despite sending Ms Haley to the statehouse and then to the governor's mansion two times over, South Carolina is proving no different.
In Lexington County, where Ms Haley lived with her young family when she launched her political career, residents mostly shrugged when asked about their former neighbour's campaign for president.
"I don't care where somebody's from," said Gregg Moore, who owns an antique store in downtown Lexington. "Mr Trump is from New York and Florida. I'm not from New York and Florida, but he has what this country needs and therefore I'm voting for him."
Mr Moore, like other Lexington County voters who spoke to the BBC, was not particularly critical of Ms Haley. Most said simply she could not compete with the former president, who they believed had proved his mettle in the White House.
And it is not just South Carolina's voters who are lining up behind Mr Trump. The state's Republican lawmakers and leadership have as well.
"We all know it's Trump's party at this point, right?" South Carolina Republican strategist and Trump critic Chip Felkel said.
That may be true. But for now, as long as there's money left to spend, Ms Haley can simply carry on. After all, he said, "what has she got to lose?".
