1 Minute Speech on Who Is My Role Model?

A role model is a person whom I can look up to; learn from, and imitate. I can also be inspired to succeed the way he or she has done in his or her life.

A role model can be my father or mother; it can be my teacher, my best friend, a sports personality or a leader in my neighbourhood or community. What makes a role model impact my life is not the position he or she holds; but the positive influence and the way he or she sets an example by his or her behaviour, speech and courageous action.

Now we need to note that we either consciously choose role models or sometimes we are influenced by them without our even knowing it.

So just ask yourself this question, “Who am I looking up to as a standard of behaviour, and reference point to emulate or follow?” The next question to ask yourself is “What makes his or her life a success?” Once you have identified those elements like honesty, discipline or courage; the third question to ask is, “What character traits of that person can I copy, implement, and reproduce in my life so that I too can shine a light for others?”

Again, a role model is one who brings about a positive change in me. He or she is someone whom I can relate to in my struggles as well as my dreams.

Personally, I have had not one; but many role models in my life. At each stage of life’s journey I have looked up to someone for motivation to live life better.

If I look at them close; they may not be perfect but there is something good about them which makes me respect and admire them and also push myself to excel in life.

Surprisingly, many role models that I have had are not public figures, but unsung heroes and heroines whose lives shone a bright light for me!

“My mother is my role model, she inspires and motivates me to grow without any barriers”

Children with disabilities, global youth ambassadors, diksha dinde, diksha dinde, a 23-year-old student and activist from india, tells how her mother is her role model and the reason she was able to get an education and fulfil her potential..

Super humans. We read about them, watch them and admire them in the virtual world – but I live with a superhuman. She is my mother.

I am Diksha Dinde, a 23-year-old student and activist from India. I am 84% differently abled, trying to break the stereotypes related to disabled people.

Be it teaching underprivileged children from the slums near where I live or raising awareness to break taboos around menstruation, I have been doing my part to make this world a better place to live.

My mother, Mrs Chitrarekha Dinde, is my role model. She inspires and motivates me to grow without any barriers. It seems to me that this woman looks at life as a challenge and wholeheartedly intends to seize the day every day. My mother looked after me and supported me in every part of my life. Right from childhood she has been with me like my shadow. It had been riddled with hurdles and difficulties, but she has managed to cross them all to because of the amazing and independent person she is.

Being physically challenged I am not able to move by myself and because of this I have not been able to do daily routine activities since childhood. At the beginning this was a hardship for my mother, but she was determined to make it work.

She not only helped me whenever I needed but she also taught me to help myself. She taught me to keep myself clean and neat, how to eat and how to know how much to eat. She says, “a child does not learn from what parents say but from what parents do”.

I have had three operations and various therapies on my spine but none have been successful. I was rejected from schools because of their lack of infrastructure and facilities. I was finally admitted to one school.

My mother had to be there with me the whole day, but at the same time she also had to handle our home life. So she started tailoring and working during school hours. That is how she was able to satisfy financial needs in the home.

Now I’ve graduated in Business Administration and I’m pursuing a Masters.

Whenever I look at my mother I see an ordinary person but when I think about what she does and how she does it she becomes divine and the reason of my smile!

The experience of my life so far has truly brought things into perspective. My mother has taught me that hard times can be overcome and that losing battles can be won. She has taught me more than I could have learnt from any book.

She sets an inspirational example to me teaching me how to live life and make wise choices, even in the most uncertain situations.

I respect her a lot. She is my inspiration, my role model.

Sometimes, he travels on an economy class ticket for flights and surprises his fellow passengers. This shows that he is not a man who lives a luxurious life and teaches us that no matter how rich we are, we must stay grounded.

His primary focus is on the severe issue of malnutrition. He said that the health of children and pregnant women is essential as it will change the mental and physical health of the nation. He believes that children are the nation's future, and we need to nourish children for a bright future for the country.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he recommended companies not lay off their employees. Also, during the pandemic, he donated hundreds of crores to the nation for the help of frontline workers and those who are fighting the virus.

He believes that everyone has the right to education and lack of money should not be a hurdle.

He visited around 80 families who were impacted by the 26/11 attack. He helped many street dogs and also requested his followers to do so. He always inspires and motivates people on his social media handles.

We celebrate Father’s Day every year on 19 June to strengthen the relationship and remind a father of the sacrifices he endured towards his kids when they were in need. Unfortunately, it has become a mere formality for many, lacking genuine emotional connection and appreciation. In today’s times, children often choose to live separately from their fathers, prioritizing their own families and disregarding their responsibilities towards their aging fathers, who cling to hope for support.

We, in fact, thrive on being a person like them. He or she is a role model in our lives. I, too, have a role model in my life. He is a five-and-a-half-foot man with short hair and a calm posture.

I have a face and body structure just like his because he is my father . He is my father; even though he is not a superhero or doesn’t possess an infinite amount of strength, he is the person that I look up to the most.

My father is the person who inspires me all the time, and he has had a strong impact on my life in the most profound way.

I share a very deep relationship with my father. My father and I may not speak with each other sometimes, but we understand each other properly without even talking.

That’s how strong my bond is with my father. Everyone admires my dad because he too admired and wanted to be a person like his father.

He is responsible and a man concerned about his family . A man is always there for you, no matter what, and ensures that all your needs are fulfilled. He is not only a dad but also a company, a friend, and he has always been a good mentor to me.

To me, it is a blessing that I got all of these qualities in a single person, and that too, in my father. He is a very humble and kindhearted man. Everyone knows him for his calm behavior, intelligence, and helping nature. For these reasons, he is loved by all in many ways.

My father is the most hard-working person that I have ever known. He works as a government servant in the agricultural department as an Assistant Agriculture Officer. His work is to ensure that all the villages and panchayats in his block are provided with their farming and agricultural needs.

A lot of people worked under the superiority of my father, and there were many panchayats under his agricultural leadership . That’s why there is a lot of pressure in his job, but still, he handles everything swiftly.

All the farmers come to visit him whenever they have any problems or issues with the crops, and he guides them and effectively solves their problems. He has also bagged the title of being the best agriculture officer in our district.

Apart from his professional life and financial pressure, he still makes time for his family. He also does our household work like taking care of the garden, the plants, repairing the garage and other jobs as well. I have also seen him fix the electrical and plumbing things as well.

My father has always been there for me since I was a child. He always pushes me and guides me to face the challenges of life. He helps me in my studies and even makes me understand the topics that I haven’t properly understood in school.

He shows a constant interest in my hobbies and studies, so it helps me do things properly and effectively.

I consider myself one of the luckiest people on this planet because I am able to get my mother’s love no matter what. She is not only my mother but also the mother of three children; they are my brother and my sister .

No doubt, we are there, but we are one for my mother. She loves each of us equally and makes sure that we are healthy and good.

She has made the biggest contribution to our lives. Starting from the morning, as soon as I woke up till the time I went to sleep, she had her involvement in everything. She wakes up early tomorrow morning before anyone else and starts her day by making breakfast for us.

As soon as the breakfast is made, she wakes me, my brother, and my sister up and then asks us to freshen up. While doing this, she makes sure our school bags and other items are ready. She makes sure our uniforms and shoes are clean.

She then serves us breakfast. She also makes some extra breakfast so that we can carry it to school. At home, when we are in school, she makes breakfast for my father and sends him to work.

She makes sure that every member of the family starts their healthy day with good food. She also offers Dad a proper, neat, and clean dress for his office. When Dad goes to his office, she starts doing household work.

She washes the clothes, cleans the house, and does all the other household work by herself. She prepares lunch before any of us comes home. When we are at home, my brother and my sister help our mother with all the work.

My mother is a wonderful lady. She is smart, wise, hard-working and ambitious. Like all other mothers in the world, she is also very concerned about her family. She makes sure to make all the ends meet together and provides us with a happy and healthy life.

Another great thing about my mother is that she is friendly to everyone and has a welcoming attitude. People like her company and are always attracted to her positive vibes. She is a very calm and modest person, and getting angry is something she does really slowly.

She is a mature-minded woman and knows how to use words properly. Her words never hurt anyone.

Her generosity is something that I really admire. This is what she always tries to teach us. If there is someone I see as my role model, it is none other than my mother. All the good qualities that I have in me are because of my mom.

The unique thing about Abdul Kalam is that he was elected as President with the support of both the BJP and the opposition party, the Indian National Congress. In fact, people at every party liked him.

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was an extremely talented scientist. He played a major role in the development of missiles and nuclear weapons in India. It is because of him that our country is now a major power in the world.

In the year 1982, when he was working at the Defence Research and Development Organisation, he developed a programme and developed a large number of successful missiles for the nation. For this reason, he is known as the ‘Missile Man of India’.

He was a man who believed in secularism and promoted communal harmony in the nation for each other’s religion. He secured a place in everyone’s heart; a man loved by all. Today, everyone likes and admires him for his philosophy and teachings.

He is a man who has dedicated his entire life to the people of this country. There are a number of ways in which Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam inspired me. He always had a positive attitude towards failure; this is what I liked the most about him.

Failures are natural, as we don’t succeed on our first try, but we should not keep trying till we achieve success . I admire his way of thinking and mindset when it comes to adapting to success.

He is a person who never stopped working or dreaming just because he failed in his attempts, and in fact, he worked even harder to achieve his goals.

He was a true legend for the youth of the country. Throughout his entire life, his professional career, work, and writings, he inspired the younger generation. He always loved young people, especially school students.

He used to say that youngsters must dare to dream and then convert that dream into thoughts and, finally, into actions. His life has indeed been an inspiration for the youth of the nation. As youngsters of the country, it is our duty to be a part of making India a developed country.

In my life, my father is a hero, guide and someone I can always look up to. He’s the first person I think of when I’m under any difficulties. All of my significant life decisions have been guided by my father. In reality, I’ve never regretted following his advice because it has always shown to be effective. My father despises wasting time. When dad finds either my sister or me doing nothing and just idling our time during the holidays, he assigns us some chore or another. He is also extremely well-organized and keeps everything in order.

My father is my role model because of his commitment to his career. He puts in a lot of effort to provide for our family. He is always there to support me at my school tournaments. He inspires me to do things I may be afraid of, in an attempt to get over my fear and to emerge victorious. On weekends, we spend hours playing games together. He assists me with my homework, teaches me life lessons such as how to treat others with respect, and takes me to swimming and karate classes. He also encourages me to learn new things every day. He excels in playing music. He sings a lovely tune to me every night before I go to sleep. My father is my dearest buddy, and I am so grateful for him; he is God’s greatest gift to me.

He instructs me to behave nicely, talk politely with elders and friends, help those in need, and never say anything negative about anyone because he wants me to grow wise in the future. My father bestowed onto me the greatest gift somebody could bestow upon another person: his faith in me.

When he gets home from work, he inquires about my school activities and informs me about his office activities. They say that girls are a father’s favourite. A father’s relationship with his daughter is of a confidante and her hero, while with his son, he is a close buddy and a best friend. He acts like a child, gives advice like a friend, and guards like a bodyguard.

Photography is one of my father’s hobbies; he takes images of birds, plants, and animals. He is a passionate animal lover. We visited a dog park and a cat cafe to spend time with adorable dogs and kitties. He is always happy when he plays with them. On my father’s birthday, my mother and I gifted him a dog, and our family grew by one.

Many things have been taught to me by my father and I strive to be like him. He tells me not to cry when I make errors because mistakes are how we learn in life. A major settlement could spell an end to 6% real estate commissions

The National Association of Realtors has reached a nationwide settlement that could change the way real estate agents are compensated. Critics say the current system artificially inflates agents' commissions.

For years, sellers have effectively set the commission paid to buyers' agents as a condition of using a multiple listing service (MLS) — a regional roundup of homes for sale. The combined commission — shared by buyers' and sellers' agents — is typically 5% to 6%, which is higher than in most other countries.

There's also a potential conflict in having the home seller decide how much the buyer's agent is paid, since they have different objectives in negotiating a home sale.

2023 was the worst year to buy a house since the 1990s. But there's hope for 2024

Under the settlement, commissions will be subject to more negotiation, which could lower the cost of buying and selling a home. It could also drive some real estate agents out of business. Home sellers can still offer a commission to the buyer's agent, but that will no longer be a condition of using an MLS.

The National Association of Realtors lost a $1.8 billion jury verdict last year and was facing other lawsuits over the commission structure. The penalty threatened to put the organization into bankruptcy.

As part of the settlement, the National Association of Realtors did not admit to any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $418 million over the next four years.

The settlement still needs approval from a federal judge. The changes to real estate commissions are set to take effect in July.

In October 2022, amid a flurry of media appearances promoting their film “Tàr,” the director Todd Field and the star Cate Blanchett made time to visit a cramped closet in Manhattan. This closet, which has become a sacred space for movie buffs, was once a disused bathroom at the headquarters of the Criterion Collection, a 40-year-old company dedicated to “gathering the greatest films from around the world” and making high-quality editions available to the public on DVD and Blu-ray and, more recently, through its streaming service, the Criterion Channel. Today Criterion uses the closet as its stockroom, housing films by some 600 directors from more than 50 countries — a catalog so synonymous with cinematic achievement that it has come to function as a kind of film Hall of Fame. Through a combination of luck, obsession and good taste, this 55-person company has become the arbiter of what makes a great movie, more so than any Hollywood studio or awards ceremony.

Today I am going to tell you about my superhero, my father. Most of us but not each one of us is blessed to have a father in his/her life. I consider myself very lucky to have a father with me who cares for me and takes care of our whole family. He fulfils our emotional and financial needs.

My father is my superhero. I think he is the strongest man in this world. He protects me from all kinds of problems and makes me feel secure. I am not afraid when I am with him.

He is very joyful by nature. He has maintained a very open environment at home. I and my sister can talk about anything and everything with him. Every night we wait for him at the dinner table to chit chat with him. He also takes us for a walk after dinner and tells us stories of great warriors.

My father is the source of my inspiration. He is a businessman. He is very hardworking and works day and night to give us healthy living and fulfills all our needs. He is a man of principles and very disciplined too.

He not only understands his responsibility towards us but also our society. He feeds stray dogs and helps poor people. On weekends, he teaches poor children for free. He also works for an NGO where he makes donations and takes care of abandoned old people.

My father is also a great cook. He makes some of the tastiest dishes like pizza, pasta, and puris for us sometimes. He takes us for a picnic or a movie once a month.

He enjoys playing badminton. He never misses his early morning walk and his badminton practice with his friends. He has taught that health is wealth. He believes in regular physical exercise and has also taught us the same.

I love my father very much for being caring and loving always. He scolds me sometimes but I do understand that it for my betterment and growth only. He wants me to excel in whatever I do. I want to make him feel proud of me one day.
