AI Cover Letter Writer FAQ
While we’ve tried to make this tool as easy to use as possible, it’s okay to have questions. If you don’t find your answers here, contact our customer support.
What is an AI Cover Letter Writer?
Kickresume’s AI cover letter writer is powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3 natural language processing model. It can generate role-specific cover letters that look and feel a lot like cover letters written by real people.
On the other hand, it has its own limitations. Artificial intelligence doesn’t know you. It cannot tell your story the way you’d be able to.
That's why you should use this cover letter writer with caution. Nevertheless, it can produce a decent-enough cover letter that you can use as your first draft in case you’re struggling with writer’s block. However, remember to edit your AI-generated cover letter and make it more you.
Learn more about the AI cover letter writer or try it out for yourself and generate your cover letter .
How does an AI Cover Letter Writer work?
Simply enter your most recent job title, press the “Use AI Writer” button and the AI writer will generate a cover letter for you.
If you don’t like that cover letter, simply press the button again. It will generate another set of sentences or rewrite the cover letter from scratch.
What is the best AI Cover Letter Writer?
Kickresume's AI Cover Letter Builder . Here are the reasons why:
- Kickresume AI Cover Letter Builder is based on OpenAI’s GPT-3 neural network, which is the world's most powerful natural language processing model .
- It can generate role-specific cover letters that look and feel a lot like cover letters written by real people.
- Each cover letter that is produced by our AI Cover Letter Builder is unique and custom-built for you.
Is the AI Cover Letter Writer free?
Unfortunately, it is not. On the other hand, there’s a large number of uses (or credits) included with every Kickresume premium subscription plan.
Why is it not free? Kickresume has to pay the OpenAI corporation for every use of its GPT-3 model. Because of that, every use of the AI writer consumes a credit.
In case you run out of these credits, you can either wait for the next billing period or contact our customer support.
If you want to unlock the full power of Kickresume, you can upgrade to a Premium subscription at any time for as little as 5 EUR per month.
Also, Kickresume is free for students .
What is GPT-3?
GPT-3 is OpenAI’s autoregressive language model that uses deep learning to produce human-like text. Put more simply, it’s an AI that can write all kinds of texts, including a programming code, really really well.
GPT-3 is the third generation of this model and it’s very powerful. For instance, even its previous iteration, GPT-2, was considered too dangerous to release to the public. Why? Just imagine what a motivated internet troll or spammer could do with it.
Anyway, the current generation of this language prediction model was in the end released to the public and you can now use it for all kinds of things, including writing your cover letter.

People Are Using ChatGPT To Write Their Job Applications. Should You?
Senior Reporter, Work/Life

In today’s competitive job market , candidates need to make a strong first impression to stand out from the pack. And for an increasing number of job seekers, that means using an artificially intelligent chatbot to write and edit their job applications. ChatGPT , which was made free and publicly available by the artificial intelligence lab OpenAI in November, is a chatbot powered by machine learning. People can ask it questions and it provides a quick response based on “a massive dataset of human-generated text,” as ChatGPT will tell you. ChatGPT’s capabilities are remarkable and are already transforming how students write essays and how teachers grade and plan lessons . It can write surprising raps, eerie poems and detailed cover letters based on information you give it. It gives people answers that are not just grammatically correct, but with an understanding of how hiring managers want to read it.
As an example, I asked ChatGPT to write a cover letter for a barista role that highlighted a passion for coffee and customer service experience. In less than a minute, I had a detailed response:

For job-hunting, you can also tailor ChatGPT answers to your unique needs by copying and pasting your resume into its chat feature and asking it to build cover letters based on that resume and the role you want. “The more specific you are to ChatGPT, then the better your results will be,” said Gabrielle Woody , a university recruiter for the financial software company Intuit. “When I type ‘I am a job seeker looking for a software engineering role at a startup. How can I make my application stand out’ into ChatGPT, it comes with recommendations of how to highlight skills, technologies and industries that one has previously worked in.“ Ashley Pancoast, a Wilmington, North Carolina-based data analyst who is currently job hunting, has asked ChatGPT questions like, “How can the resume be improved to match the job description?” to help tailor their cover letter and resume. Pancoast said the number of interview callbacks they have gotten has increased using ChatGPT for help. They see ChatGPT as “if it were a professional I was consulting with to give me feedback.” “I mostly ask it for key competencies that are listed in the job description, and then for it to ... summarize things easily for me,” Pancoast said. “Since job searching takes so much time, it just makes things go quicker.“ For Pancoast, ChatGPT is helpful at generating potential job interview questions they have not thought about, too. “If I have questions, I can ask it, ‘Can you explain this key competency more? What it would it look like in the job?’ I’ve also asked it, ‘What interview questions might they ask me for this job description and I can think through ‘OK where does my experience line up with that?’”
Recruiters think it can be a good starting point. But they caution about using it without edits.
The results of ChatGPT-written job applications are uncanny and can fool humans. There have already been instances where companies have recommended people using ChatGPT-generated job applications for a job interview. “I suspect a lot more candidates are using it and honestly, I couldn’t tell you who is and isn’t right now –– I think that’s part of the power of using a tool like this that will build responses around your specific examples,” said Bonnie Dilber, a recruiting manager with app-automation company Zapier. Jerry Lee, the COO for a job-search coaching firm, claimed on TikTok that he got seven callbacks in two days after he used ChatGPT to write applications for 190 jobs.
@jerryjhlee Replying to @jaymie_inc this is how you apply to 200 jobs in 2 days — perfect timing with the holidays #resume #jobtips ♬ Betty (Get Money) - Yung Gravy
Some job seekers see using ChatGPT as a way to level the playing field in a job-search process that can seem largely out of a candidate’s control. As one comment to Lee’s TikTok reads: “They use automation so can we.” Recruiters said they were fine with job seekers using ChatGPT to automate parts of an application, as long as they add in their own voice. “So much of recruiting leverages standard templates and automated responses, schedulers, etc.,” Dilber said. “I love any tool that will help a job-seeker bring the same approach to their search. But just as a great recruiter starts with the templates and then tweaks for the individual role and candidate, a great job applicant should do the same.” Tejal Wagadia, a recruiter for a major tech company, said ChatGPT’s cover letters can be a good starting point. But in the end, it is a computer program that cannot go beyond repeating what you say in a resume. And one of the biggest mistakes you can make in a cover letter, experts say, is to be generic and boring as if you just copy-pasted a template. Wagadia said when she tried putting in specific resume and cover letter templates to tailor ChatGPT’s response, it still created a generic cover letter that would not be helpful for a recruiter evaluating a candidate. “The cover letter that it gave me was full of fluff words,” Wagadia said. “It is saying words like ‘dedicated,’ ’highly efficient, ‘productive,’ ‘detail-oriented’ – things that we consider nonquantifiable words that don’t really add anything to your resume.” In this way, Wagadia said the fact that ChatGPT can do a good job of writing subjective cover letters demonstrates the limit of using them to evaluate candidates. She personally finds that a portfolio of someone’s work can give recruiters better insight into a candidate’s writing style. Beyond its use of subjective fluff words, a drawback to ChatGPT is that it cannot fact-check itself. As ChatGPT explains to users: “T he system may occasionally generate incorrect or misleading information and produce offensive or biased content. It is not intended to give advice.” But its answers can surprise you, as they did for me. When I asked ChatGPT to write me a poem on how job seekers are using ChatGPT for their cover letters, it immediately wrote back to me, in part:
“It’s a tool that’s worth a try, To make your words fly high, No more writer’s block, no more sigh, Your letters will be sharp, like a spy. But don’t forget to add your touch, Make it personal, that’s the key, Don’t let the machine do too much.”
Whether you are an AI-powered chatbot or a job seeker, these are good words of moderation to live by when job-hunting. At best, the AI tool can refine your answers and give you writing inspiration. But ChatGPT cannot yet fully replace your own voice. It may help you get a callback, but you will have to be the one doing the job interviews. Take it from Pancoast, who has asked ChatGPT to point out strengths in their job application answers and to note which qualifications Pancoast may not have mentioned. Pancoast said they appreciate the pep talks ChatGPT gives, but also are aware of the limitations in its answers. “It doesn’t know me,” Pancoast said. “It has my resume, it has my cover letter, it doesn’t have my full life experience, but again, it just gives you things to think about.”

What Are the Best Things to Highlight On Your Cover Letter?
The best things to highlight on your cover letter are your most relevant strengths to the job duties and responsibilities. These should imply to your hiring managers that you’re a good fit for the role.
Here are a few examples of things to highlight:
- Accomplishments
- Work experience
If you’re a student or graduate, then it’s worth focusing on your academic background since you likely won’t have much work experience. On the other hand, those with more than 2 years of experience could focus on their employment background and workplace achievements.
The only rule is to not repeat what you’ve already mentioned in your resume. Unless you’re adding in new information, don’t write about the same things over and over.
Which AI-Generated Cover Letter Version Is the Best?
It depends – which one do you find most suited to your needs?
This comes down to your professional judgment in deciding whether or not the cover letter best represents your ability and character as a worker. Look at the job description and think about your own skill set.
If you’re not satisfied with the results, you can keep using the feature until it generates something you’re happy with.
How Many Times Can You Use the AI Cover Letter Generator?
As long as you have enough AI writer credits, you can use the feature as many times as you’d like. Just remember that once you press the AI writer generate button, the previous draft won’t be saved.
The Best Practices for Using the AI Cover Letter Generator
Editing and proofreading.
Using the cover letters that have been generated, see which ones you like the most and edit accordingly to suit your needs. It’s good practice to edit and proofread what’s been written to customize the job application as your own.
Personalize It
Your cover letter isn’t generated randomly. It uses the information from what you’ve mentioned in your resume and the short form you filled out. Aside from solely relying on this, think about the expectations of your employers.
Ask yourself, how are you the best person for the job? What do they want to see from you? There may be subtle details that could be included for further personalization.
It’s worth saving each draft the AI cover letter feature generates.
Although you might not be entirely satisfied with what’s been written, use them as references for certain sections in your application. Or even use them as inspiration for the future cover letters you work on.
Using An AI Cover Letter Generator VS Writing From Scratch
Let’s briefly look at the benefits you stand to gain from using the AI writer compared to writing from scratch.
Using an AI writer:
- Skip the outline and drafting process by getting straight into editing
- No more constant back and forth research or page hopping
- Make the writing part easy by getting instant inspiration
- Save time and get more applications sent with minimal effort
Writing from scratch:
- Start with an outline or draft before editing and refining your application
- Constantly refer to the job description page to ensure it’s tailored
- Search up multiple resume examples online to draw inspiration from other candidates
- Generally takes more time and effort, which can be draining and result in fewer applications sent
The Advantages of Sending a Good Cover Letter
It shows your enthusiasm .
Cover letters aren’t usually essential. But your employers will see the effort you’re putting into your job application. This can indicate your passion and work ethic, which are differentiating factors that set you apart from other applicants.
You Get to Explain Why You’re a Good Fit
Resumes give the company an overview of your professional background. It’s like a report summarizing your career history and highlights.
Whereas, a cover letter gives you the chance to explain yourself as a professional. In other words, it allows you to talk more about why you’re the right person for the role. This extra room for information could be used to your advantage.
Let Employers See Your Personality
Another aspect recruiters look at is if a candidate is a good cultural fit for the organization. This means aligning with the company’s mission and values. Those who are a good cultural fit are likely to adapt better to the work environment and be more productive.
It’s harder for employers to get insight into your personality in a resume compared to cover letters. But, keep it professional otherwise you’re making a common writing mistake .
Structuring Your Cover Letter
Here’s the general structure of a cover letter:
- Opening paragraph
- Closing paragraph
All cover letters should be no further than one-page long. Half a page is also more than enough.

How to Write Your Cover Letter Using ChatGPT
Are you struggling to write a cover letter? Let ChatGPT guide you through the process and help you create a standout letter.
Artificial intelligence seems to be the latest buzzword, and ChatGPT has been in the news as increasing numbers of people are learning about the platform and exploring its benefits. If you struggle to put your thoughts together, the idea of having a platform to create a cohesive document sounds like a godsend.
If you’re a skeptic, you may wonder how well the platform works and if there are any drawbacks to using artificial intelligence to help you with your job search. The platform may save you time, but you may want to add your touch to any documents generated to stand out.
1. Create Your ChatGPT Account
If you don’t already have an account, starting your ChatGPT account is simple. Go to the site chat.openai.com , and you’ll see a prompt to open your account or sign up. You can create a new account with any email or connect it to an existing Gmail account.
You’ll need to have your mobile phone close, since you’ll receive a six-digit code sent to your phone via text to confirm your registration. Once you’ve confirmed your registration, you’re ready to get started.
2. Introduce Yourself to ChatGPT
Before ChatGPT can write a cover letter for you, you need to introduce yourself to the platform, so it knows who it’s writing for. You should cultivate your introduction as if introducing yourself in a job interview.
The only difference in this introduction is that the platform hasn’t seen your resume, so you’ll need to share information about your education and work experience. Your introduction will help the AI get to know you, your past work experiences, and your area of expertise.
Share the school you graduated from and the degree you earned. Include your various jobs and work experience. If you have any specific accomplishments or certifications that you’ve achieved, you can add those too. The more information you can provide on your work experience, skills, and achievements, the better the AI can create an impressive cover letter.
Once you submit your introduction, ChatGPT will comment on your introduction and offer you some words of encouragement. If the platform is still new to you, you may ask yourself what is ChatGPT and what can you do with generative AI?
Here’s an Example Introduction:
Here’s chatgpt’s response:, 3. submit a job description.
Once you’ve completed your introduction and ChatGPT knows more about you, you can ask the platform to write a cover letter based on your submitted job description. Providing the platform with the requirements, duties, and responsibilities will help the AI understand what it needs to include in the cover letter.
Remember, the key to an effective cover letter is customizing it to the job you’re applying for. If you’re applying for several jobs, you can submit the job descriptions for each job you’re applying for.
The platform is free, so there’s no need to limit yourself when applying for jobs. If you’re a writer worried about what this new platform means for the future of your career, you may be interested in learning some of the reasons why ChatGPT won’t take your writing job .
4. Prompt ChatGPT to Write Your Cover Letter
Once you’ve submitted the job description, the next step is to ask for a cover letter. You may notice that the platform embellishes your qualifications to help increase your chances of getting the job. For example, the cover letter to be a writer for WorldAtlas talks about a bachelor’s degree in Geography, which wasn’t mentioned in the introduction:
You can ask the platform to create different cover letter versions to focus on other skills or experiences. For example, here’s one focusing on writing skills:
And here’s another cover letter focusing on soft skills. Notice that there’s no mention of a degree in this cover letter:
You can ask the AI to create cover letters with various focuses and see which one will work as a better foundation for the letter you send. You may want to focus on something particular based on your knowledge of the company culture or the position.
If you don’t like the first version of your cover letter, you can always ask the AI to regenerate your response. You can also prompt the AI to create a cover letter with whatever emphasis you want.
You may want to try different versions and see which suits you best. If you want to learn more about the platform’s capabilities and how to generate the right prompts, you may be interested in learning ways to learn how to write effective ChatGPT prompts for the best AI answers .
5. Proofread & Review the Generated Cover Letter
Once the AI generates your cover letters, you’ll want to review them to check for misrepresentations (Geography degree) or mistakes. You’ll want to proofread the letters before sending anything out.
ChatGPT warns you on its homepage that it may generate incorrect information, so you must do your due diligence before submitting a cover letter developed on this platform. This is important because the platform admits to sometimes producing harmful or biased content.
It would be best to treat the cover letters the AI generates as the basis of the cover letter you’ll send. You can add anything the AI missed or emphasize areas you think the employer should notice. ChatGPT pulls out some of the most critical elements of the job posting and tries to understand the intention behind the post. The platform can create cover letters that skillfully highlight the company culture described in the job posting.
The cover letter created by ChatGPT can help you focus on what’s essential to the company hiring to fill the position. It’s important to remember that AI can give you an excellent start to your cover letter; however, it will still be generic.
You’ll need to put in some personal information about yourself and what makes you stand out from other applicants before you submit your application. If you enjoy using the platform, you may be interested in learning about the amazing ChatGPT Chrome extensions for better AI prompts and answers in browsers .
Work Smarter, Not Harder
ChatGPT is a platform that allows you to work smarter, not harder. You can generate documents using AI and have them as the foundation for projects you need to complete.
Whether you’re writing a cover letter or a resume, AI can help you create them more efficiently. The documents won’t be perfect, but you can make changes and corrections as necessary and be confident that the platform has touched on the critical elements the employer wants to see, since AI can help you focus on addressing the points in the job description.

- Ask the Expert: Using ChatGPT to Write Your Cover Letter
by Forrest Brown | Mar 1, 2023 | Career

The cat’s out of the bag, folks. Generative AI is here, and it’s not going away anytime soon.
Regardless of what you may think about ChatGPT and the slew of other generative AI chatbot announcements it’s spurred, one thing is certain: generative AI is already hugely disruptive. Now it’s up to us to figure out how to best use it.
Early adopters of the technology have enlisted it to write essays, emails, advertisements, lines of code, and more. Computerworld recently reported that job applicants are using ChatGPT to write resumes and cover letters —and getting good results.
These use cases seem like no-brainers, but what’s the best way to go about using generative AI for these purposes? To learn more about how to properly use ChatGPT for writing resumes and cover letters, NerdRabbit spoke with Nicole Leffer , a senior marketing executive and expert on how professionals can incorporate AI into their work.
Should you use generative AI to write your resume or cover letter?
“My thinking on this is, it depends on the industry you’re in, and it also depends on whether or not you’re trying to be deceptive about it,” says Nicole.
First, industry. Nicole recommends making the judgment call on whether or not to use generative AI for job applications on a case-by-case basis. If the company you’re applying to values candidates with generative AI skills, go for it.
> Where to Find Freelance Tech Jobs
Using a tool like ChatGPT to help write your resume and cover letter signals that you have those skills, which can work in your favor when trying to land an interview. If you want to work somewhere that leverages AI and is interested in pioneering good uses of it, how a company responds to use of generative AI in the hiring process might also signal to you whether or not it’s a place you’d want to work.
In terms of deception, transparency is key.
“As a best practice, I recommend saying as a PS, ‘This cover letter was generated in collaboration with AI,’ or something along those lines,” Nicole says. “That way it’s not like you’re hiding it in any way, shape, or form.”
Every time you use an AI tool to help write a resume or cover letter, include a prominent disclaimer letting the recruiter or hiring manager know AI was involved in its creation. You don’t have to put a warning in red, 36-point font across the top of the page, but don’t hide it, either. The chances of the person on the other end of the application assuming bad intent increases if they sense dishonesty.
Think of ChatGPT as a co-writer, not a ghost writer
“It is important that if you’re going to use [ChatGPT], you have to demonstrate that you can edit it and make sure it’s accurate and on point,” Nicole says. “It’s very easy to write a bad prompt, or even with a good prompt generate an inaccurate cover letter, or to not notice that ChatGPT is copying and pasting wording verbatim from the job description you’ve shared.”
Editing and revision are crucial steps of the writing process, and that’s especially true for anything written by a generative AI tool. In truth, ChatGPT is a better writer than most people (it doesn’t hurt that it was trained on well-written material), but even the best generative AI tools out there are prone to hallucinations .
“[ChatGPT] shouldn’t be straight-up writing your entire cover letter without you touching it,” Nicole says. “It should be an aid to help you write your cover letter. And there’s a huge difference in those two things.”
Because ChatGPT does write good prose, hallucinations can be easy to miss. Don’t mistake good prose for quality writing. The output might sound great, but it’s not helpful if it contains falsehoods or inaccurate information.
Learning how to write good prompts is a must
Generative AI tools work by taking a prompt to produce an output. It’s important to edit and revise outputs, but it’s just as important to write a good prompt.
This starts with training ChatGPT on writing in your voice. To do this, Nicole says you should prompt ChatGPT to write a paragraph describing your writing voice. Include several old cover letters written by you (not an AI) in the prompt, and save the output in a place where you can easily refer back to it.
> Work From Home Scams Are on the Rise—Here’s What to Know
When you’re ready to write a new cover letter, copy and paste the description of your voice ChatGPT previously generated into the new prompt. Feel free to make adjustments to this description so that it fits into the new prompt naturally. For a detailed description of this process with examples, refer to Nicole’s post on LinkedIn below. (If the post doesn’t appear, try disabling your ad blocker.)
When it comes to writing the prompt for the new cover letter, be as specific as possible. Don’t just say, “Write a short cover letter for an AWS solutions architect role that will make me stand out from the crowd.” Write it as though you’re a teacher giving an essay prompt to a class, making sure to include details about:
- Desired length
- The goal or objective of the cover letter
- Writing tone or voice
- What information to include
- What information not to include
Once you get the output, Nicole says you can copy and paste it into a new prompt and tell the chatbot to make revisions according to your editing notes before you do the final revision yourself.
She also notes that sometimes you’ll need to restart ChatGPT if you’re not satisfied with the results. Your prompt may be good, but sometimes the tool can get stuck in a “bad loop” that produces poor outputs. Remember that you’re collaborating with the tool, not having it do your work for you.
Are there any downsides to using ChatGPT to write your resume and cover letter?
“I think there is a risk that you could frame a much better argument for yourself, yourself, because you know you,” Nicole says. “You can tell a story that is written into a cover letter that really tells the story in a way that ChatGPT never will.”
As with any new technology, overreliance on the tool is always a risk. Before you automatically start to write your cover letter with generative AI, ask yourself if you could write a better cover letter yourself in the same amount of time it takes to fire up ChatGPT, train it on your voice, write a good prompt, and revise the output.
Even if it takes a little bit longer, there’s a lot to be said for submitting a cover letter that only you can write. You can still use a generative AI tool to polish up what you’ve written, but cover letters with a personal touch—especially ones incorporating a story or personal anecdote—are powerful.
As the saying goes, when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Generative AI is a sophisticated and valuable addition to your toolbelt, but it’s not meant to replace all the other trusty tools you’ve acquired over the years.
Use the right tool for the right job. Tools like ChatGPT will be a good idea in many cases, but don’t discount your own abilities when the situation calls for them.

Students use AI to write cover letters

Danial Asaria and Reese Bretow created AI Cover Letter in an effort to harness the power of artificial intelligence to help students who are applying for jobs and internships. The website drastically shortens the process of writing a personalized cover letter to just 30 seconds.
The students were inspired to create the website after they spent a significant amount of time writing cover letters for internship applications. They realized that this was not efficient, especially since recruiters simply look for keywords and skim through, Bretow said.
“It’s very frustrating spending 10 to 20 minutes writing a cover letter that I knew was not going to really be read,” said Bretow, a junior majoring in business administration. “I wondered if this could be automated, so I texted Danial.”
Friends before creating AI Cover Letter, Asaria and Bretow knew how to divide responsibilities to make their goal possible. While Asaria coded the website, Bretow designed its interface. The website requires the user to upload their resume and paste the job description and role they are applying for. It then extracts information from both these inputs to produce a cover letter. The most important aspect of the software is that it matches the job description to the relevant parts of the resume to make a story.
The website was built upon OpenAI’s GPT-3 model, a generative model that allows for text completion, and then trained for cover letters. The model first picks the correct prompts and then scans the resume so it can dissect it and find the important parts. To train it, the creators used cover letters from an open forum at USC, their own cover letters and online examples that hiring managers said they liked best.
AI Cover Letter has had more than 3,400 visits since its launch. While the website is open to anyone who is in the process of a writing cover letter, current users are mainly undergraduate students at USC.
“We are undergraduate college students, so the people we sent it to happen to be the same,” said Asaria, a junior majoring in computer science and business administration. “But anyone who’s applying [for] a job can use this website.”
Rushikesh Pande, a junior majoring in neuroscience, and Josh Cohen, a sophomore majoring in business administration, praised the app for its simplicity and said they would recommend it to others.
“The ease of use is definitely something that is helpful,” Pande said. “This was a lot easier because you can copy and paste any job description … you don’t have to do too much.”
Cohen said he often uses it as a baseline for a cover letter and then edits it to better fit his needs, rather than starting from scratch.
“I edited it obviously, you got to proofread it to make sure it’s talking about what you want it to talk about,” Cohen said. “Most of it was pretty solid and I didn’t need to change a bunch.”
ChatGPT is another popular model using GPT-3 that can write cover letters quickly. However, AI Cover Letter already does the key steps of sorting the resume, prioritizing information, choosing the correct prompts and training on cover letters. Hence, the creators argue that it is more efficient than ChatGPT.
“As a product designer, it’s important to make products that work really well and fast,” Bretow said. “While ChatGPT could get you something similar with the right fine-tuning of the prompts, that’s an extra layer of effort I strive not to have.”
While Cohen hasn’t used ChatGPT for his cover letter, he is unsure if it can import the same data as AI Cover Letter, which is specifically made for this purpose. Compared to this, users may have to edit more to make sure ChatGPT gave the cover letter tailored to the job.
While USC didn’t help in the development of this website in any official capacity, Asaria and Bretow said they learned skills from their classes and organizations that inspired leadership. According to them, the innovation culture at USC is underrated and the university’s startup culture is not as well-known as that of other schools. This, however, does not stop students from making interesting projects here.
“It’s really exciting to see what’s going to be coming out of here and what already has,” Bretow said.

Let’s say you’re applying for a job in healthcare as an executive assistant at a hospital specializing in cancer care. Here’s what it would look like when you’re filling out the form:

You choose the “professional” tone and click “Create content,” generating this cover letter:

When submitting your information in our cover letter generator, be sure to add experience details that help you stand out from other applicants. In this example, highlighting from the start that you already have a number of years working in a similar role in the same type of setting shows that you can handle the pressure and demands the role requires.
How do you write a cover letter?
If you have more time and are feeling up to the task, you might be interested in writing a cover letter from scratch. But maybe you’re not sure where to begin. Here are three simple steps to get started.
Research the company and position
Take some time to look into the company where you’re applying and the position you’re interested in. You can see if the company has been in the news for any achievements or read reviews that might give insight into the company culture.
Read the job description thoroughly so you understand the role. In addition to the job duties and requirements, be sure you understand the expected schedule—is it strictly work-from-home, or is it more of a hybrid model?
The more you know about the place you’re applying to and the role you want, the more personalized your content will be.
Outline your letter
The structure of your cover letter is as important as the content. There are lots of job seekers out there, so you want your cover letter to be easy to read for whoever receives it.
Here’s a sample cover letter outline to follow:
- Greet the reader in the opening paragraph
- Introduce yourself and why you’re writing
- Explain your interest in the job and the company
- Describe your relevant experience and skills
- Thank the reader for their time and consideration
- Sign off with a promise to follow up in the near future
Some people also include their contact information and their LinkedIn account at the end of the cover letter or in a header.
Be mindful of the tone
You want to be enthusiastic and authentic. Express your excitement about your potential move into the role you’re applying for, but don’t make any sweeping, potentially fake-sounding statements about the company.
Don’t be afraid to talk yourself up
Sure, a professional resume will have all the stats, but the cover letter is where you can shine.
Sure, your resume will show you have X amount of years in a certain position, but in the cover letter, you can go deeper. Tell a brief story about your responsibilities or explain how you made a positive impact in that role. You want your future employer to see what you’re capable of and how you can make a difference.

Frequently Asked Questions
A cover letter introduces you to your potential employer and ideally positions you as the best candidate for the position you’re applying for.
Your cover letter will highlight the key points from your resume and showcase your most relevant skills and experience. Resumes can be overwhelming and overloaded with details that the reader may skim over—the cover letter can show off your notable achievements.
A cover letter also allows you to inject some personality into the process and make a good first impression.
It depends. The best practice is to submit the letter according to the instructions provided by the potential employer (or current employer if you’re applying for a promotion or lateral move).
Most applications today ask for resumes and cover letters to be submitted through a website, but some companies may ask for email submissions.
A cover letter should be written to the head of the team or department you’re applying to.
If the job description doesn’t list the employee who’s reviewing applications, browse through the company’s People page on their site or on LinkedIn to find a hiring manager or recruiter you can address the letter to.
Still unsure of who to direct the cover letter to? Consider using the generic phrase, “To whom it may concern,” which is still professional and polite.
While cover letters are usually for job applications, there are other circumstances where a cover letter may be required:
- A person applying to college
- Students applying for a scholarship
- Someone applying for a grant
- A person applying for a loan
- People interested in joining a club or organization
- An employee looking for a promotion

Job seekers are using ChatGPT to write resumes — and nabbing jobs
Increasingly, ai-generative technology is being used to create resumes — and according to a new survey, it often helps its users land a new job..
Senior Reporter, Computerworld |

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology is increasingly being used to create resumes and cover letters, and according to a new survey by Resume Builder , using a chatbot improves your chances of getting the job.
The online job site said nearly half of 2,153 job seekers surveyed earlier this month used ChatGPT to help write their resumes, their cover letter, or both, and the majority said it helped them land the job they wanted.
Nearly three quarters (72%) of those who used ChatGPT did so to write their cover letter, and just over half (51%) used it to write their resume.
The chatbot appeared better at grabbing the attention of prospective employers, as seven in 10 (69%) who used ChatGPT reported a higher response rate from companies.
Additionally, 78% of respondents said they got an interview when using job application materials written by ChatGPT, and 59% were hired after applying for a job using materials written by the chatbot technology from San Francisco-based OpenAI.
“Job seekers who use ChatGPT for their cover letters and/or resumes are really no different than those going to a resume writing service or using readily available templates and online tools,” Stacie Haller, Resume Builder’s chief career advisor, said in a statement. “Hiring managers know this when reviewing these documents and can likely tell if they were written by ChatGPT.”
Of course, correlation doesn't equal causation, and it could be that users of ChatGPT for resume creation are simply more committed to their job hunt. But increasingly, external platforms powered by AI-generation models are being used to construct resumes, according to Hiten Sheth, director in the HR practice of research firm Gartner.
“Candidates — just like employers — are experiencing a fiercely competitive labor market,” Sheth said in an email reply to Computerworld . “To help gain competitive advantage, candidates might feel the need to utilize generative AI in order to bolster their resume, for example. It’s basically impossible for a recruiter to know if a resume was compiled using this technology — and recruiters are also not looking for it.”
The primary motivation for those who used ChatGPT is to save time, the survey found. Those benefits outweigh the risks for most job seekers, according to Resume Builder’s report.
An overwhelming majority (88%) of the total sample said they are somewhat or highly likely to continue using ChatGPT to write job application materials in the future. Four in 10 said interviewers weren’t able to tell when job candidates had used ChatGPT.
However, when interviewers found out about the AI use, the response wasn’t always positive. Of the 40% of respondents who said an interviewer was aware they used ChatGPT to write application materials, 35% said they didn’t get the job because of it.
“The purpose of a resume is to get someone an interview,” Haller said. “From there, it’s up to the hiring managers to use other tools to evaluate a prospective employee during the process.”
Three out of four of those surveyed said the materials written by ChatGPT were of high or very high quality. And 28% said they had to do only “a little bit” or “no” editing to the resumes and cover letters written by ChatGPT.
Foundation models, the technology underpinning OpenAI’s ChatGPT, have been around for years and are already used in natural language processing (NLP) chatbots. However, according to the latest Gartner 2023 Recruiting Innovations Bullseye, the use of chatbots is still in the experimental stage and is not considered a strategic recruiting goal for most organizations over the next few years.
Despite the apparent success of ChatGPT in hiring, there are broad concerns that the technology could be used to generate false information at scale, according to Sheth. AI-generated “hyperrealism,” coupled with how easy it is to use, accelerates the risk of false information spreading rapidly.
As a result, both users and organizations “must remain cautious when using generative AI, as failing to do so could result in legal and reputational consequences,” Sheth said via email.
“ChatGPT continues to generate buzz because it allows everyday individuals to directly interact with AI that is seemingly intelligent, understands questions, and helps accomplish specific tasks. However, the content this technology generates can sometimes be incorrect, as it depends on the prompt, task, or domain and the quality and quantity of training data leading to risks and misuse,” Sheth said.
A Resume Builder spokesperson said the organization can't conclude that ChatGPT increases a respondent's chance of being interviewed or hired, “but contrary to what some might believe, using ChatGPT may not hurt an applicant's chances, either.
“I think there is a narrative out there right now that using ChatGPT is somehow cheating [or] misrepresenting yourself. But using it can definitely save time for job seekers and, according to the survey findings, most respondents didn't experience a downside (only 11% said they believed they were denied a job because they used ChatGPT),” the spokesperson said in an email reply to Computerworld .

Microsoft's AI-powered Bing can now write cover letters, and it shows how fast the technology is evolving
- On Wednesday, Microsoft's new AI-powered Bing search engine refused Insider's request to write a cover letter.
- By Thursday, it complied with the request and produced a cover letter.
- Bing can now churn out a cover letter in a boilerplate format, including a few sentences that seemed to fulfill the job requirements.
Microsoft's new AI-enabled Bing search engine has a new take on the ethics of helping job applicants write cover letters.
Microsoft rolled out the souped-up Bing search engine on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I asked Bing to write a cover letter for the position of social media content producer at Insider, based on this job description . In response, Bing said: "I'm sorry, but I cannot write a cover letter for you. That would be unethical and unfair to other applicants."
Less than 24 hours later, it reversed course: Bing agreed to help me write cover letters.
To be doubly sure, I again asked the new Bing on Friday to write a cover letter for the same social media content producer job. Here's what it produced:
What Bing came up with is similar to ChatGPT's creations . Both programs can write cover letters in a boilerplate format, including a few specific sentences targeted to fulfill some of the job requirements outlined in the job description.
When Insider asked Microsoft to explain why Bing can now generate a cover letter, a spokesperson declined to specifically answer the question, saying, "In general, Bing will be able to help a user write a letter."
"It's important to note that we are at the beginning of this journey with this product preview, and we will continue to improve our systems over time," the spokesperson added via email.
Changing fast
I have noticed small changes to Bing's responses every time I asked the the platform the same questions, which means it's constantly learning.
For instance, the cover letter Bing generated on Thursday said: "I am a digital media enthusiast with a passion for creating and distributing engaging content across various platforms."
On Friday, for the same prompt Bing said: "I am a digital media enthusiast with a keen interest in the Insider brands and a proven track record of creating and distributing engaging content across various social platforms."
Such changes, within the space of mere hours, show that AI platforms adapt and evolve rapidly.
Microsoft's AI-powered Bing is new, so it's still under trial. Users have to sign up for a waitlist to get access. It's also not fail proof: The search engine itself says in its FAQ that it isn't unusual for its responses to be unexpected — or even wrong. It asks users to "use your own judgment and double check the facts."
"Bing aims to base all its responses on reliable sources — but AI can make mistakes, and third party content on the internet may not always be accurate or reliable," reads Microsoft's FAQ section.
Even so, Bing has already displayed at least one big change in what it can — or at least, will — do in the span of 24 hours. Just think about what it'll be able to do in a week.

Should ChatGPT write your resume?
Applying to jobs can often feel like a full-time job. Reading up on a company, tailoring a resume for a specific position within that organization, and writing a cover letter for just one role can take hours. By contrast, the average recruiter spends just seven seconds scanning a resume, according to one estimate .
Enter one tool that could change job applications entirely: ChatGPT , the AI-powered chatbot launched by OpenAI in November. Using a chatbot like ChatGPT (along with emerging competitors like Microsoft’s Bing AI and Google’s Bard) could give job-seekers an edge by substantially speeding up the application process. But is it the best solution?
On social media, it’s not uncommon these days to see a career influencer extol the value of ChatGPT, which they say can help you write a cover letter in two minutes, become “insanely prepared” for your next job interview, or submit 200 job applications in two days. At the very least, it can take an old resume and rewrite it fairly quickly so it’s relevant to a certain job description. Teal, a personal career growth platform, has been promoting ChatGPT for cover letters and resumes .
The new tool is great for a job-seeker, said Todd Mitchem, executive vice president of AMP Learning and Development, who advises HR professionals on using technologies like AI in their work. “They’ve got 15 different resumes that they had ChatGPT write within seconds,” he said.
If you’re concerned that using ChatGPT to write your resume feels a bit like cheating, consider that similar tools have been put to work on the recruiting side for years. Many companies use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to automatically scan resumes for certain keywords, ranking candidates based on the content in their CV. Now that applicants are using ChatGPT to tailor their job applications, the two systems are basically “talking to each other,” said Mitchem.
Research suggests AI can be an effective tool for job applicants. A recent study published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, which hasn’t yet been peer-reviewed, found job candidates who used algorithmic writing assistance to help write their resumes had an 8% higher probability of getting hired than those who didn’t.
Still, career coaches and human resources consultants stress ChatGPT is just a tool, and there are limits to what it can do for job-seekers.
“If you want a draft of something really fast, that is a good head start, it’s really amazing at that,” said Rania Stewart, an analyst with the consulting firm Gartner who advises clients on recruiting technologies. But she cautioned that while ChatGPT will give you a decent resume, it’s liable to stretch the truth, and should be carefully edited. What’s more, she added, the privacy implications of the chatbot aren’t yet clear: Candidates should be wary of giving too much personal information to ChatGPT.
As candidates and companies alike examine the benefits—and limitations—of using AI in the hiring process, it may be worth exploring what chatbots can do for your next application. Here’s how you can experiment with ChatGPT as you apply and interview for jobs.
How to use ChatGPT to tailor your resume
The success of any conversation with ChatGPT will hinge on the prompts you provide, according to Michael Dillon, a data analyst based in Manchester, England, who has been sharing tips for using the tool on LinkedIn.
“You have to be very good at giving instructions,” said Dillon of the prompts, which essentially tell ChatGPT what to do. “The more specific you are and the more information you give it,” he added, the better it will perform.
Dillon, who recently published a guide on the subject, recommends taking a job description on LinkedIn, then prompting ChatGPT to summarize the job role by entering a prompt like, “Summarize this job role. Explain the top 5 skills and top 5 experience required.” You can even dictate the way you want ChatGPT to format the summary by entering, “use line breaks and bullet points.”
From there, you can give ChatGPT your resume and ask it to identify how your skills and experience align with those listed in the job description. You can then prompt ChatGPT to expand on these skills and experiences in bullet points that could easily be inserted into a re-tailored resume. A simple search on TikTok or LinkedIn is likely to turn up plenty of similar prompts for job-seekers who want to use ChatGPT for their resumes.
Again, be wary of allowing ChatGPT to insert errors into your resume, Dillon cautioned (currently, its data ends at 2021), or turning in a job application that reads as if it was written by a bot . Still, ChatGPT can provide you with a launching point for crafting a resume that has a good chance of catching the eye of recruiters—or the systems tracking candidates for them.
How AI chatbots can help write your cover letter
ChatGPT also lends itself well to drafting a cover letter for a job. A candidate can enter a job description and their resume, then tell ChatGPT to write a cover letter using those two pieces of information.
On Instagram Jerry Lee, co-founder of the job search service Wonsulting, shared prompts for creating a cover letter in just 45 seconds using ChatGPT. Lee has said such tips might allow applicants to apply for as many as 200 jobs in just two days.
But while applying to jobs at a breakneck pace with the help of ChatGPT may be tempting for job-seekers looking to land something quickly, Lynda Spiegel, a resume coach based in New York City, is skeptical this is the best approach. She said she typically recommends people on the hunt for a job apply to no more than three open roles each week. A “ spray and pray ” method, she added, can hurt a candidate strategically. If a job-seeker is focused on applying to as many jobs as possible, they might not take the time to connect with the hiring manager for a position, or find a second-degree connection who can open the door for them more quickly at the company. What’s more, it’s unclear how many recruiters read cover letters carefully, so if there’s something about your career background you want potential employers to know, you should make sure it’s included in your resume as well, Spiegel said.
As tools like ChatGPT make it quicker and easier to apply for jobs, companies could see a “sharp increase” in the volume of applications, said Stewart, of Gartner.
The likelihood your application is competing against a bigger pool of candidates makes it all the more important to submit a resume and cover letter that stands out from the rest, Dillon said. Your best bet, he added, is to use ChatGPT to jumpstart your thinking process, and get straight to writing job applications that “sound like you.”
How ChatGPT can help you prepare for an interview
Experts say ChatGPT can also be helpful in preparing for interviews. When testing out ChatGPT, Dillon asked the bot to take a job description and create 10 potential interview questions, sorted by competencies required for the role. Even if it doesn’t predict exactly what a recruiter will ask , “it gives you a lot to think about,” Dillon said.
If you prompt ChatGPT to act as a recruiter, “it’s basically gonna put you through a verbal written mock interview, and it’s very good at that,” Mitchem said.
Don’t be surprised if you start to notice companies’ approach to interviewing change in the coming years thanks to AI. HR professionals will be challenged to rethink the way they evaluate candidates with the advent of AI tools like ChatGPT, Mitchem predicted. “Where we’re headed is, how does HR and recruitment get more personalized?” he said. Recruiters will need to focus more on identifying skills that differentiate candidates, and Mitchem said he wouldn’t be surprised if more companies start asking for video resumes in the future.
Even as ChatGPT greatly speeds up the job application process, don’t discount the value of good old-fashioned networking, Spiegel and Dillon said. If you reach out to a secondhand connection at a company you’re applying for, or email a recruiter directly, these human interactions can help bypass any sort of automated tracking system where your resume might still get lost.

There is a growing concern among hiring and recruiting professionals that job candidates are using the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT to game the interview process by having it write cover letters and help practice answering complex questions.
Should HR leaders be concerned that ChatGPT could intensify candidate fraud?
Glider AI, a talent quality platform that conducted a comprehensive study on candidate fraud , says no. In fact, it believes ChatGPT will be a positive tool for evaluating candidates' job skills.
"Not embracing tools like ChatGPT is to ignore progress and innovation. The application and growing use cases for ChatGPT are profound, especially given its infancy," said Satish Kumar, Glider AI CEO. "There is a careful balance between understanding a candidate's resourcefulness in using ChatGPT and mitigating overreliance."
Out of more than 1,000 current and recent job seekers who responded to a recent ResumeBuilder.com survey , 46 percent reported using ChatGPT to write resumes or cover letters or both. Of those candidates, about 70 percent received a higher response rate from employers and 59 percent were hired. Only 11 percent failed to obtain a job when the interviewer discovered they had used ChatGPT. According to the survey, senior-level executives currently use ChatGPT less frequently than entry- and midlevel job seekers.
"ChatGPT could become a proficiency and skill set that a candidate emphasizes on their resume, no different than Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop," said Andrew Higashi, CEO and co-founder of ChangeEngine, a San Francisco-based future-of-work company. "Learning how to use the latest technology has always been an advantage for new hires. I could see ChatGPT continuing to evolve over the years, and its users will need to keep up with the latest nuances."
Spotting Exaggerated Experience and Skills
In many ways, inflating experience and skills with ChatGPT-produced resumes and cover letters is no different than hiring a resume-writing service.
"Hiring managers already know that the resumes they are reviewing may very well have not been written by the person presenting it," said Stacie Haller, chief career advisor at ResumeBuilder.com. Based in Seattle, ResumeBuilder.com helps job seekers build a strong resume.
"Resume writers, job coaches and online tools exist for this, and this new technology is only today's version," she added. "Screening is the same as it always has been, whether [the resume is] written by ChatGPT or a resume service. It comes down to the interview process."
Though ChatGPT is advanced technology, low-tech interviewing strategies remain effective at figuring out what is accurate, exaggerated or fabricated on a person's resume. Watching the candidate's body language, asking references about an individual's soft skills, and incorporating skills testing and real-time critical thinking exercises into the interview are more important than ever.
"For example, software engineers should whiteboard and code together before making hiring decisions. Sales representatives should run mock presentations to showcase their industry knowledge and passion for the product," Higashi said.
Bonus Points for Using ChatGPT
Candidates who use ChatGPT may actually have an advantage in the hiring process beyond receiving help creating a standout resume and cover letter. Using the tool may demonstrate their resourcefulness and adaptability—two traits that can support an organization in achieving its goals and adjusting to changing business scenarios.
"If a candidate can leverage ChatGPT to more quickly source information—whether it's for responses during a phone interview or to more creatively build their resume—that could signal this person is tech-savvy and could end up being a great hire," said Allyn Bailey, a former HR recruitment executive at Intel and current executive director of hiring success at SmartRecruiters, headquartered in San Francisco.
Opportunities for HR to Use ChatGPT in the Hiring Process
Job seekers are not the only group to benefit. Bailey noted that interviewers and hiring managers "might even use ChatGPT to dig deeper into any candidate or come up with follow-up interview questions."
SmartRecruiters is experimenting with using ChatGPT to enhance its hiring process. Bailey thinks the tool can play a significant role in sourcing candidates and speeding up the sourcing process by homing in on specific candidates, writing personalized candidate messaging and crafting compelling job descriptions and postings.
"The point about knowing how to use it is important. In the end, it's a computer: it will only produce quality results if you feed it quality information and prompts," Bailey said. "You can even use it to remove bias from content if you use it right."

What is a Cover Letter and Why is it Important for Job Applications?
Career › Cover letter › What is a Cover Letter and Why is it Important for Job Applications?
When applying for a job, you might be familiar with submitting your resume or CV, but what about a cover letter? A cover letter is a one-page document that accompanies your resume and serves as an introduction to your qualifications and experience. It is typically sent to potential employers along with your resume and provides a brief overview of why you are the best candidate for the job.

A well-written cover letter can significantly increase your chances of getting hired. It is an opportunity for you to showcase your personality, highlight your relevant experience, and explain how you can add value to the company. Employers often use cover letters to determine whether a candidate is a good fit for the job and the company culture. Without a cover letter, your application may seem incomplete and can leave a negative impression on the hiring manager. Therefore, it is crucial to include a cover letter in your job application to give yourself the best chance of getting hired.
Purpose of a Cover Letter
The primary purpose of a cover letter is to introduce yourself to a potential employer and provide them with additional information about your qualifications and experience. It is your chance to make a good first impression and grab the attention of the hiring manager. A cover letter can also showcase your writing skills and demonstrate your interest in the job.
While your resume provides an overview of your education, work experience, and skills, a cover letter allows you to elaborate on these qualifications and provide more context. It allows you to explain why you are interested in the position, how your experience aligns with the job requirements, and why you are the best candidate for the job. A cover letter can help you stand out from other applicants and make a stronger case for why you should be hired.
A well-written cover letter highlights your most relevant qualifications and achievements. It allows you to emphasize the skills and experiences that are most important for the job and demonstrate how you can add value to the company. By tailoring your cover letter to the specific job requirements, you can make it clear to the hiring manager that you have the skills and experience they are looking for. This can increase your chances of getting called for an interview and ultimately landing the job.
Components of a Cover Letter
How to write an effective cover letter.
- Research the company and job
Before writing your cover letter, it is important to research the company and the job you are applying for. This can help you understand the company culture and tailor your cover letter to the specific job requirements.
- Address the hiring manager
Whenever possible, address your cover letter to the hiring manager by name. This can help personalize your application and demonstrate that you have done your research.
- Customize the cover letter to the job description
Your cover letter should be tailored to the specific job requirements listed in the job posting. Use the job description as a guide to highlight your qualifications and explain how your experience aligns with the job requirements.
- Highlight your qualifications
Use the body of your cover letter to highlight your most relevant qualifications and achievements. Provide specific examples of how your skills and experience make you the best candidate for the job.
- Use a professional tone
Your cover letter should be written in a professional tone and free of errors. Use proper grammar and spelling, and avoid slang or overly casual language. Your cover letter should be concise and to the point, with each paragraph serving a specific purpose.
Fact:
Job seekers who included a cover letter with their job application were 50% more likely to receive an interview request than those who didn't.
By following these recommendations, you can write an effective cover letter that showcases your qualifications and demonstrates your enthusiasm for the job. A well-written cover letter can make all the difference in getting called for an interview and ultimately landing the job.
Tips for Making Your Cover Letter Stand Out
- Use keywords from the job description
To make your cover letter stand out, use keywords from the job description in your cover letter. This can demonstrate that you have read the job description carefully and that you have the skills and experience the employer is looking for.
- Showcase your unique qualifications
Use your cover letter to showcase your unique qualifications and experience. Highlight any accomplishments or projects that set you apart from other candidates. This can help you stand out and make a stronger case for why you should be hired.
- Demonstrate your enthusiasm for the position
Demonstrate your enthusiasm for the position and the company by highlighting why you are interested in the job and what you can bring to the team. Show that you have done your research on the company and that you are excited about the opportunity to contribute to its success.
By incorporating these tips into your cover letter, you can make it stand out from other applicants and increase your chances of getting called for an interview. A well-crafted cover letter can help you make a strong first impression and demonstrate why you are the best candidate for the job.
49% of HR managers believe that cover letters are important, and 26% said they spend more than a minute reviewing them.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Grammatical and spelling errors
One of the most common mistakes in cover letters is grammatical and spelling errors. These errors can create a negative impression and make you appear careless and unprofessional. Always proofread your cover letter carefully before submitting it to ensure that it is free of errors.
- Generic language
Another mistake to avoid is using generic language in your cover letter. Avoid using clichés or overly formal language that can make your letter sound insincere or unoriginal. Instead, use specific examples and concrete language to demonstrate your qualifications and enthusiasm for the job.
- Using the wrong company name
Another common mistake is using the wrong company name in your cover letter. This can happen when you use a generic cover letter for multiple job applications without updating the company name. Always double-check the company name before submitting your cover letter to ensure that it is accurate.
By avoiding these common mistakes, you can increase the effectiveness of your cover letter and make a positive impression on the employer. A well-crafted cover letter can help you stand out from other applicants and increase your chances of landing the job.
In conclusion, a cover letter is a crucial component of a job application that can help you stand out from other applicants and demonstrate your qualifications and enthusiasm for the job. A well-crafted cover letter can complement your resume and showcase your unique qualifications, increasing your chances of landing the job.
