In the years since Kate Middleton first became publicly known as the girlfriend of Prince William, she joined the royal family, became the Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to three children— Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis —and has grown into one of the United Kingdom’s most prominent charitable advocates for children, mental health, and the arts. When her husband becomes the King of England, she will likely become Queen Catherine.
Born on January 9, 1982, in Reading, Catherine Elizabeth Middleton spent much of her childhood in the small Berkshire village of Bucklebury, where her parents Michael and Carole settled after Carole built her party-decorations business, Party Pieces, into a financial success. She and siblings Pippa and James were all educated at Marlborough College, and during her time there, Kate excelled as an athlete. She arrived at University of St. Andrew’s in 2001 after taking a gap year, where she chose to study the history of art. She first befriended William in their shared residence hall, and the next year, she moved into an off-campus house with the prince and two of his close friends.
After graduation, Kate and William’s relationship became a tabloid fixture. Kate took a job working as an accessories buyer at the clothing chain Jigsaw, while William trained for military service. The couple announced their engagement in November 2010, and were married in a Westminster Abbey ceremony on April 29, 2011. Kate eased her way into taking on full-time royal duties, and delivered her first speech as a senior royal in March 2012, after announcing her early patronages: Action on Addiction, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, children’s art nonprofit the Art Room, and London’s National Portrait Gallery. Over time, she has taken on more roles related to the arts and children’s welfare, and in 2021, she launched the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which does research and raises awareness about issues related to the early years.

Kate Middleton reacts to pregnancy rumours with stunning post
Prince William's sweet wife Kate Middleton has responded to pregnancy rumours in her own style as she shared a very delightful post this week.
Taking to their official social media account, Kate Middleton and Prince William have released a new family picture for their annual Christmas card for 2022. In the photo, Prince and Princess of Wales, their three kids can be seen holding each other's hands.
Kate shows off her incredibly fit figure as she's seen rocking skinny blue denim jeans and white lace Mandarin collar blouse in the adorable snap.
It is not known exactly when this year Prince William and Catherine's photo was taken but it seems as the mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Louis, chose the photo to quash the pregnancy rumours.
It’s a full-on denim moment as all five family members stuck to a blue and white color palette, even down to the shoes. Kate styled her dress with her classic sneakers.
Netizens loved the picture and took to the comments section to express the same, with one saying Kate is superfit in this pic, another added wow they look perfect family.
Some even quipped that William and Kate's kids had grown so much. One user penned: "This is so beautiful and the children are all so grown up. Seasons Greetings." Others commented: "Such a lovely family."
Kate Middleton left fans baffled with her previously shared photo in which she was seen putting her hands on her belly, setting tongues wagging about having baby number four. However, her latest image seems to be an answer to the people who were speculating about the Princess.

Kate Middleton’s recent photos could ‘spell disaster’ for new monarch King Charles III, a royal expert has said in sensational new claims, reported The Daily Star.
The new Princess of Wales travelled to the late Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk with Prince William on September 15, 2022, with pictures of the royal couple showing them interacting with mourning crowds, who welcomed them lovingly.
Their reception at Sandringham drew comparisons with King Charles’ blunders just days into his reign, with royal expert Daniela Elser saying that they could mean that his popularity could very well be ‘eclipsed’ by William and his wife, the future King and Queen.
Elser said: “It’s only one week into the job he (Charles) has waited more than 50 years to do and he has already managed to have not one but two tanties caught on video.”
She added: "If ever there was a moment that should make Charles choke on his afternoon fruitcake, it’s this… Charles’ time to shine might have arrived, but if these new images of William and Kate are anything to go by, he could well find himself on the precipice of being eclipsed.”
“Polling for years has told the same story: Brits prefer William,” Elser also pointed out, referencing a YouGov poll that suggested about three-quarters of Britons want Prince William on the throne instead of King Charles.

The Duchess of Cambridge has marked her 40th birthday by releasing three new photographs.
The glamorous portraits, taken by fashion photographer Paolo Roversi, show her wearing Alexander McQueen dresses, as well as earrings that belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales, and others loaned by the Queen.
Catherine thanked people for their "very kind birthday wishes" and Roversi for "these three special portraits".
A big birthday is always a good excuse for nostalgia and reflection - and for the duchess there is plenty to ponder.
Much has changed for her since her marriage into the Royal Family - not just the prince, their three children and her role as future Queen.
She has also had to find her feet as a public figure.

Moving from the private Kate Middleton to the public, royal Duchess of Cambridge has had its challenges.
She has had to navigate the particular and peculiar stresses that come with joining the Royal Family, of which there are many.
Buckingham Palace, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were among those to wish her a happy birthday on social media, sharing pictures of Catherine with the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla.

The three new photos released of the duchess to mark her big birthday are revealing. They show how she wants to present herself at 40 and they ooze glossy, old fashioned glamour.
The images were taken at Kew Gardens back in November and will form part of a project from the National Portrait Gallery where the duchess is patron.
They will go on display in three locations that she has chosen and have special meaning for her.
Berkshire is the county of her childhood and where she was brought up. St Andrews is where she went to university and began her relationship with her husband. Anglesey is where the couple lived together just before and in the early part of their marriage.
The photos will then be housed in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery.
These are not royal choices. They are personal ones for a duchess whose happy and settled childhood has provided the blueprint for how she manages the life she now lives.
And at 40 she increasingly seems at peace with the path she's on.
I was at her first ever engagement on Anglesey in 2011.
Despite being in a relationship with William throughout most of her 20s, this was the first time we had seen her on official duty. The crowds were big and the spotlight intense but on the surface she seemed unfazed.
In the years that followed, that calm, sometimes shy, exterior has not gone away but it now includes a growing sense of self confidence in her public work.
I looked back at her first ever speech in 2012 for East Anglia's Children's Hospices - a cause still close to her heart. She looked and sounded nervous. This wasn't her comfort zone. But fast forward to 2021 and a speech for Action on Addiction and there is an ease and directness in her words.
"Addiction is not a choice. No one chooses to become an addict. But it can happen to any of us. None of us are immune."
Adjusting to the scrutiny has come perhaps most sharply with how she looks.
The clothes remain a mix of High Street and high end and the duchess has learnt when to pull out all the stops. I give you the James Bond premiere back in September and the Jenny Packham-designed gold dress.
Her 40s will be another decade of significant change.
As the Queen does less and works differently due to her age, so the Cambridges will do more.
For the duchess, that will mean a focus on raising issues around mental health, addiction and early childhood.
She will also continue to protect the privacy of her own children - Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three - managing when we are able to see them.
At 40 years old, life is now a juggle between the private and the public for the duchess who will one day be queen.

Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles Narrowly Avoid Wardrobe Mishap During Latest Outing

Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles looked stunning as always when they stepped out for their latest royal engagement—but they came pretty close to having a major fashion mishap, thanks to the weather.
For the first time since their title changes, Catherine, Princess of Wales (41) and the Queen Consort (75) were both spotted at the annual Commonwealth Day Service in Westminster Abbey on Monday. And as they made their way indoors, both ladies were seen gripping onto their hats to prevent them from being carried away by the wind. Naturally, both royals were quick with their reflexes and handled the situation like pros.

Princess Catherine, who donned a jacquard peplum jacket and a matching flared midi skirt, was seen clutching her blue headpiece with a smile, despite the windy conditions, and Camilla followed suit with her blue hat and matching wool crepe dress. Talk about a close call.
In addition to wearing matching colors, both ladies stepped out with meaningful jewelry. The princess wore sapphire earrings that belonged to the late Princess Diana , as well as a Prince of Wales feathers pin that was gifted to her from King Charles . And Camilla wore a sapphire and diamond brooch that was owned by Queen Elizabeth .

The princess attended the Commonwealth Day church service with her husband, Prince William, who wore a matching navy suit. Meanwhile, Camilla was joined by King Charles, who sported another shade of blue.
Prince Edward, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh and Princess Anne were also in attendance.
Let's hope the wind takes it easy on the royals for future engagements.

This is how Prince William and Kate Middleton's marriage is behind palace doors

"Someone at the palace told me about the nicknames they have for each other," Tom Quinn told Fox News Digital, adding, "But it’s not all sweetness. They have terrible rows where they throw things at each other. Kate might seem to be a very calm person, and William also. But it’s not always true. Because the big stress for William and Kate is that they’re constantly surrounded by [palace aides]. It’s like a Jane Austen novel."
The author quoted a former member of the palace staff who claimed that Kate Middleton refers to Prince William as "babe," while he calls her "Duchess of Doolittle." Another source claimed in the book that when Prince William "is cross" with his wife, he’ll call her "darling" with "signs of annoyance" that can be detected in his tone.

“Kate is very much the calm one. William is the one who’s a bit hotheaded. We see an example of that in Harry’s book… But Kate is very level-headed. She’s the one who will pour oil on troubled waters and go, ‘Let’s not stir things up',” Tom Quinn wrote in the book.
Tom Quinn described Kate Middleton as having a “Buddhist calm”, writing, “Of course, privately, William and Kate, like all couples, fall out, row, shout at each other and say unkind things to each other, but Kate is an appeaser by instinct and William always gives way as he had more than enough emotional turmoil, divorce and disruption as a child.”

A royal author has claimed Prince William and Kate Middleton "throw things at each other" during "terrible rows". Tom Quinn, the author of "Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family ", made the claims during an interview with Fox News Digital .
His new book features exclusive testimony from palace staff with historical sources, as well as royal insiders. Quinn says his book examines the traditional upbringing of the British royal family and how it has impacted them over the years.
Speaking to the outlet, he said: "They have terrible rows where they throw things at each other. Kate might seem to be a very calm person, and William also but it’s not always true.

"Because the big stress for William and Kate is that they’re constantly surrounded by [palace aides]. It’s like a Jane Austen novel."
One close to the couple told Quinn in the book that people can tell when William “is cross” with his wife because he’ll call her “darling” with “signs of annoyance.”
In his interview with Fox News Digital, Quinn added: "Kate is very much the calm one. William is the one who’s a bit hot-headed. We see an example of that in Harry’s book but Kate is very level-headed. She’s the one who will pour oil on troubled waters and go, ‘Let’s not stir things up.’”
However, the author summarised by describing the Waleses as "like all couples". He said: "Of course, privately, William and Kate, like all couples, fall out, row, shout at each other and say unkind things to each other, but Kate is an appeaser by instinct and William always gives way as he had more than enough emotional turmoil, divorce and disruption as a child."
And just "like all couples" they allegedly have their own nicknames for each other. One former member of the palace staff told Quinn that Kate would call William "babe," whilst he would call her "Duchess of Doolittle."
William's other names for Kate reportedly include "Babykins" and "DoD," the shorter version of "Duchess of Doolittle." One report published by Fox News Digital alleged that "Duchess of Doolittle" is actually not as cute as it sounds and it's actually a "gentle dig".
The claim states that Kate was previously criticised by the late Queen Elizabeth II for not having a full-time career before the couple married in 2011.

Princess Kate’s outfit of choice for the event was a navy peplum jacket and midi-skirt set with an embroidered print, which she coordinated with matching hat and pumps. The look is designed by Erdem, a designer that’s been a favorite of the Princess of Wales for some time. According to the Daily Mail , however, the designer has even more significance in Princess Kate’s relationship with the Duchess of Sussex.
Early on in their relationship, Erdem reportedly became a point of “tension” for Meghan and Kate as the then-Duchess of Cambridge was given top priority compared to her sister-in-law, per the outlet. There were engagements when Meghan was seen sporting some of Erdem’s designs. Among them was the emerald ensemble she wore to a Commonwealth Day Youth Event at Canada House in March 2019 when she was pregnant with son Archie.
Now, some people might be reading a bit too much into what Princess Kate chose to wear for this year’s Commonwealth Day Services. Then again, the royals are well known for making statements without even uttering a word by and this is the three-year anniversary of Harry and Meghan’s last public royal event — they made their last appearance as senior members of the royal family at the 2020 Commonwealth Day Services. Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if this was just another fabulous outfit or a pointed message to Meghan.

Kate Middleton And Prince William's Marriage Is 'Not All Sweetness,' Royal Author Claims

Prince William and Kate Middleton 's marriage has its ups and downs just like that of every other couple, according to a royal author.
Royal expert Tom Quinn made the claim in his new book, "Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family," in which he discusses the traditional upbringing of the British royal family and cites testimony from palace staff, historical sources and royal insiders.
"Someone at the palace told me about the nicknames they have for each other," Quinn told Fox News Digital of the Prince and Princess of Wales. "But it's not all sweetness. They have terrible rows where they throw things at each other. Kate might seem to be a very calm person, and William also. But it's not always true. Because the big stress for William and Kate is that they're constantly surrounded by [palace aides]. It's like a Jane Austen novel."
International Business Times could not independently verify his claims.
An unnamed former palace staffer who knew Middleton reportedly told Quinn that the future queen consort calls her husband "babe."
Meanwhile, Prince William reportedly calls Middleton "Babykins" and "Duchess of Doolittle" or "DoD," a gentle dig at his wife, who was allegedly criticized by the late Queen Elizabeth II for not having a full-time career before the couple tied the knot in 2011.
Quinn also learned from palace sources that Prince William fusses over his wife's "endless mane of hair," prompting her to joke about his baldness and call him "baldy," according to the royal author.
But although they argue, Quinn said the pair also quickly "cozy up."
Between the two, the author said that Middleton is the calmer and more level-headed one.
"Kate is very much the calm one," Quinn claimed. "William is the one who's a bit hotheaded. We see an example of that in Harry's book... But Kate is very level-headed. She's the one who will pour oil on troubled waters and go, 'Let's not stir things up.'"
"Of course, privately, William and Kate, like all couples, fall out, row, shout at each other and say unkind things to each other, but Kate is an appeaser by instinct and William always gives way as he had more than enough emotional turmoil, divorce and disruption as a child," Quinn alleged. "He hates confrontation."
During their 2010 engagement interview, Prince William shared that their sense of humor makes him and Middleton compatible.
"She's got a really naughty sense of humor which really helps me because I've got a really dirty sense of humor, so it was good fun, we had a really good laugh, and then things happened," he said at the time.
The Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot on April 29, 2011. They have since welcomed three kids — Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4.

Kate Middleton is an international fashion icon, but her latest outfit has caused heated debate among royal fans some of whom feel the look was "overdone". Express reached out to one prominent stylist for their professional opinion on the "polarising" royal outfit.

The outfit certainly turned heads, but the fashion choice has been “polarising” according to one royal expert. Amanda Matta is a popular royal commentator on social media, and on her TikTik account @ matta_of_fact , she spoke about Kate Middleton’s Commonwealth outfit in a new video .
She said: “This is a look for people who think the highest compliment you can give a woman is to tell her she is classy and sophisticated.”
The royal commentator also believes Kate Middleton’s stylist was inspired by her outfit by Beatrice Borromeo, the daughter-in-law of Princess Caroline of Monaco who wore a bright red Dior skirt suit to Monaco's national day in November 2022. Amanda said people went “gaga” over Beatrice’s “stunning” look.

Amanda said: “What made (Beatrice’s) look so good was the simplicity of it. The cleaness of it. The lack of those things is what let Kate down here…I am not even going to talk about the fact that she has three different shades of blue going on.”
She added that she believed Kate Middleton’s outfit would have worked better if it had not been a print and that the outfit was “just too much” and “overdone.”
In Amanda’s comment section, a lot of people seemed to agree with the royal commentator on Kate Middleton’s outfit. A popular comment said: “I’m not a fan of this look on Kate. I think there are too many competing elements that distract the eye Floral print, boning, peplum and mismatched blue.”
One user said: “What is Kate’s stylist doing to her?” while somebody else wrote: “One of those instances where the clothes are wearing the person. Not a fan of the print.”
Another popular commentator said: “Gosh I miss Meghan. I just want some good outfits. I would love to see what she would wear.”

However, one prominent stylist has disagreed with the royal watchers and said she “loved” Kate Middleton’s Commonwealth look. Hallie Abrams is a professional stylist and owner of The Wardrobe Consultant , a popular blog which offers fashion tips as well as a personal styling business.
Hallie used her expertise to analyse Kate Middleton’s outfit and give her own opinions in an Express exclusive. She said: “I actually loved the blue Erdem set. A peplum is not typically her silhouette of choice.”
The fashion expert also had her own thought on what the outfit may have been inspired by. Hallie said: “The style was most popular circa 2010 but we saw it In abundance at the recent FW 2023 fashion shows. Brands like Balmain and Tory Burch are helping usher in the return of waist definition and the Princess’ stamp of approval will help for sure.”
She added: “I also really liked how she paired the outfit with a navy fascinator and classic pumps. The midi length of the skirt is also something we are seeing gain traction for fall.”
Hallie believes the outfit was a mix of Kate Middleton’s personality as well as keeping up with the latest fashion trends. The fashion expert said: “The Princess of Wales is on the cusp of the looks trending for fall, as well as staying true to her classic style.”
