Short Essay on Health in 100 Words

Health is an important aspect of one’s life. A person is considered healthy when he or she is free from illness or injury. Health can be categorised as physical health, mental health, emotional health, social health, et cetera. However, all these categories are interrelated.

While low physical activity can impact overall mental health, mental stress can adversely affect heart health and poor emotional health can deteriorate one’s quality of life. Being in good health enables a person to function optimally and live their life happily.

Some of the basic rules for maintaining good health include going to bed and waking up on time, exercising regularly, eating healthily and drinking at least eight glasses of water daily.

Short Essay on Health in 200 Words

Health is one of the most important aspects of one’s life. One can be a billionaire but if he is not in good health, he can not enjoy the luxuries that money can buy. Thus, health is considered as the real wealth. Health can be categorised as physical health, mental health, emotional health, social health, et cetera.

However, all these categories are interrelated and impact each other. For example, not exercising regularly can make a person irritable and cause mental health problems, while chronic stress can lead to health diseases and diabetes. Poor emotional and psychological health can also make people withdrawn and impact their overall health.

Being in good health enables a person to function optimally and live their life happily. When one feels healthy and is not troubled by pain or discomfort in the body, he can be more active, participate in various activities and be more present in the daily happenings. Being mentally in good health is also very important as suffering from anxiety, depression and other issues can severely deteriorate one’s quality of life.

One can easily improve his health by making some changes in his lifestyle. Some of the basic rules for maintaining good health include going to bed and waking up on time, exercising regularly, eating healthily and drinking a lot of water.

Short Essay on Health in 400 Words

Health is a key aspect of one’s life. A person is considered healthy when he is free from all illness and injury and can conduct his life well. One can be a billionaire but if he is not in good health, he can not enjoy the luxuries that money can buy. Thus, health is considered as the real wealth and being in good health is very important. Health can be categorised as physical health, mental health, emotional health, social health, et cetera.

Everyone can be healthy but good health does not come without the necessary discipline and care. Going to bed and waking up on time, exercising regularly, avoiding junk food, eating healthily, drinking a lot of water and getting some sunlight are a few good habits that can improve one’s health. However, it cannot be achieved in a day. One needs to change their lifestyle and practice healthy habits daily.

Sometimes, one’s external environment can also be the reason for their poor health. Living in shabby conditions, breathing in heavily polluted air, consuming unhygienic food and contaminated water can more often than not, result in bacterial, fungal and viral diseases. Hence, cleanliness is an important factor if one wants to be healthy. One should also take care of their diet and include greens and other nutritious food, limit their caffeine intake, stop smoking and drinking as well as follow the basic health protocols.

Good health is necessary if one wants to achieve their goal in life. One cannot study well or work hard when they are not feeling at ease or are suffering from pain. Adopting a healthy lifestyle makes us healthy and boosts our energy as well as immunity. Thus, good health is the key to enjoying a good life.

Essay on Health

Health is wealth. It is the biggest asset we need every day to meet our goals. Previously, the definition of health was the proper functioning of our organ systems. As time passed, the definition has changed. Good health now includes the physical and mental wellbeing of a person. A person can be physically fit but mentally disturbed due to the circumstances he is facing. The same can happen when someone is suffering from physical illnesses but is mentally strong.

Maintaining proper health is the prime concern these days. This is a competitive era where you cannot stop. The moment you stop you will be replaced by a better option. This is why everyone is running in the rat race without thinking about their wellbeing. The compromise towards health becomes a costly affair later. In the cities, people are more affected by mental issues than physical ones. Constant stress and lack of physical activities contribute to the problem.

Proper health comprises many factors. It includes good food, proper routine, good sleeping habits, and eating habits. Apart from these personal traits, many external factors also control your wellbeing. People in the villages stay physically stronger due to freshness in the air, physical activities, and good food. People in the urban areas, on the contrary, prefer eating unhealthy food, lack physical agility, and cannot handle mental stress properly. In the same context, urban settlement has a better lifestyle and healthcare system. Considering all the components, a person needs to give equal importance to the factors and maintain a balance.

The elements of good health are physical and mental fitness. If both are maintained, a person will enjoy a better life. How can we achieve that state? First, we have to find out the factors influencing physical health. We have to learn about the lifestyle diseases that affect our health and check the ways to avoid or manage them. Secondly, we have to eat good food and maintain a healthy diet. We need to ensure a balanced diet and good food habits to provide nutrition to our systems. In this aspect, we also have to find out the harmful foods we generally prefer eating and avoid them. Regular exercise is the third most important part of good health. When we are physically active, our muscles remain functional. We get hurt very less and also recover faster. We can also maintain our body balance better when we are involved in physical activities.

The next phase is mental happiness. What makes us happy? One can be happy watching TV all the time. Sitting on the couch all day long can also make someone happy but is it a healthy choice? This type of lifestyle choice should be immediately avoided. Choosing a sedentary lifestyle is nothing but an invitation to different diseases. The current urban population is suffering from weight-related issues. Being overweight also makes the situation worse. Lifestyle diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol elevation, cardiovascular diseases, etc develop at a young age.

We also need to make better choices when it comes to mental health. Playing sports with your buddies will help you relax and de-stress. You can also take a walk in the park and enjoy the greenery. Avoid spending more time on the screen and try to develop a hobby that suits you. In this way, you can become happier and stay healthier.

A person also needs to choose better social factors to remain free from social stigmas. Cognitive health and social health are equally important. Adding more stress will not be the solution. Keep exercising physically and mentally to remain fit and enjoy good health and longer life. Make your home stress-free with good habits and keep everyone healthy.

It helps us do things better and makes our communities better too. In this essay, we’ll talk about why health is so important in different parts of our lives and why we should pay attention to it.

Physical Health: The Foundation of Well-Being

Physical health is the most visible dimension of our well-being. It’s about keeping our bodies in top shape, which enables us to lead active and fulfilling lives. To maintain physical health, we must adopt certain habits:

Balanced Diet: Eating the right kind of food is crucial for our physical health. Having a mix of foods like fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats gives our bodies the important stuff they need to grow, heal, and have energy.

Regular Exercise: Regular physical activity is necessary to keep our bodies strong, flexible, and working well. Exercise not only helps us stay at a healthy weight but also lowers the chances of long-term health issues like heart disease and diabetes.

Adequate Rest: Quality sleep and rest are fundamental for physical health. Sleep is when our bodies recover and recharge, allowing us to be alert and active during the day.

Avoiding Harmful Habits: To maintain physical health, we must avoid habits that can harm our bodies, such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and substance abuse. These habits can lead to various health issues and negatively impact our quality of life.

Physical health is more than just staying free from illness. It’s about optimizing our physical potential, boosting energy levels, enhancing productivity, and supporting a longer and more active life.

Mental Health: The Gateway to Emotional Well-Being

Mental health is equally crucial as physical health, if not more so. It encompasses our emotional well-being, psychological resilience, and our ability to cope with life’s challenges. In our fast-paced world, mental health issues are increasingly common, making it essential to address and prioritise mental well-being. Important parts of mental health are:

Emotional Stability: Attaining emotional stability involves understanding our emotions and handling them skillfully. It allows us to gracefully navigate through life’s highs and lows.

Stress Management: Learning to manage stress is vital for mental health. Stress-reduction techniques like mindfulness, relaxation exercises, and time management can help us maintain equilibrium.

Seeking Help When Needed: Reaching out to a mental health professional when dealing with mental health difficulties demonstrates courage, not frailty. Therapy and counseling offer valuable resources for managing mental health concerns.

Building Resilience: Developing resilience is about bouncing back from tough times and keeping a positive attitude in life. Resilience is a skill that can be learned through different methods.

Social Connections: Spending time with friends and family and making good connections with people is important for our mental health. When we have people who care about us, it can make us feel better and more connected, leading to increased happiness and overall well-being.

Mental health is the gateway to emotional well-being. It empowers us to lead fulfilling lives, form meaningful relationships, and make informed decisions. Ignoring mental health can result in various problems, such as anxiety, depression, and a lower quality of life.

Social Health: Nurturing Relationships and Connections

Social health revolves around our interactions and relationships with others. It’s about forming and maintaining meaningful connections that contribute to our overall well-being. Healthy social relationships provide emotional support, reduce loneliness, and enhance our overall quality of life. In contrast, social isolation can lead to increased stress, mental health disorders, and decreased physical health.

Cultivating social health involves building strong bonds with family and friends, practicing empathy and kindness, and engaging in activities that promote social connections. By nurturing our social health, we create a positive and supportive environment that enhances our overall well-being.

Productivity and Fulfillment: The Power of Health in Achievement

When we are healthy, we are more productive and better equipped to achieve our goals. Both physical and mental well-being significantly impact our cognitive function and creativity. Being in good health allows us to work efficiently, think clearly, and make sound decisions. This heightened productivity leads to personal and professional success and an increased sense of fulfillment.

Community and Society: A Collective Impact

When a population is healthy, it becomes more economically productive, resulting in lower healthcare costs. Furthermore, a society that values and prioritizes health fosters a culture of well-being. Essay on Health is Wealth in 200 Words

Health is beyond any doubt, one of the most valuable assets one can possess. In a world where material wealth and outside success matter, the phrase “health is wealth” holds a timeless significance. Apart from this, this phrase also reminds us that having good health is the foundation on which a fulfilling life is built.

Speaking of the advantages of having good health, it allows us to enjoy life to the fullest. Without having a healthy mind and body the whole process becomes elusive.

Moreover, success and productivity depend on being in excellent health. It enables people to achieve their goals, work productively, and give back to society. An unwell person frequently encounters obstacles that prevent them from realising their hopes and dreams.

Keeping one’s health is also an investment in the future. Regular exercise and a healthy diet are two preventative healthcare practices that can assist in avoiding the need for future, expensive medical treatments. It is important to take a responsible approach to protecting one’s general well-being as well as one’s financial wealth.

Finally,” health is wealth” emphasises the importance of well-being in our lives. It reminds us that the priceless gift of health cannot be replaced by any amount of material prosperity. One must put their health first and treasure it beyond everything else if one wants to live a truly wealthy and fulfilling life.

Essay on Health is Wealth in 300 Words

Health is riches, after all. This proverb, which emphasises the critical necessity of health in one’s life, is full of timeless wisdom. It is simple to ignore the priceless gem that good health represents in a world that is focused on material prosperity and material interests.

First and foremost, being healthy helps people to live happy and fruitful lives. It serves as the cornerstone on which all other accomplishments are constructed. When someone is in good health, they have the vigour, strength, and stamina to achieve their aspirations, objectives, and ambitions. Poor health, on the other hand, can be a formidable obstacle that restricts one’s potential and prospects.

Additionally, having good health results in a higher quality of life. Healthy people require fewer medical procedures and are less in pain and suffering. They can enjoy life’s simple pleasures like spending time with loved ones, going outside, and eating good food without worrying about their diet.

The state of one’s health is crucial to their mental well-being. Mental health and physical well-being are tightly related. An emotionally stable and resilient state of mind is frequently a byproduct of physical health. The importance of health in one’s entire well-being is further highlighted by the fact that poor health can result in stress, worry, and depression.

The economic effects of health are another important factor. People who are in good health tend to be more productive at work, which increases earnings and improves financial security. On the other hand, health issues can cause medical expenses and decreased earning potential, which can have a considerable influence on one’s financial security.

The term “health is wealth” embodies a profound truth, to sum it up. The most valuable asset a person can have is good health because it supports all other facets of life. It enables people to live fulfilling lives, pursue their aspirations, and maintain their mental and emotional health. As a result, we must give our health priority and make the necessary investments because it is the only type of wealth that will never be exceeded or replaced by worldly belongings.

Essay on Health is Wealth in 400 Words

The proverb “Health is Wealth” maintains a special place in our lives. It emphasises how important good health is as the cornerstone of a successful and joyful life. The genuine meaning of riches is frequently missed in today’s fast-paced society when success is frequently gauged in monetary terms. This essay explores the deep significance of this adage and shows how true it is that the best asset anyone can have is their health.

Here are all the benefits one gets:

Physical Well-Being

Being physically healthy is the same as being in good health. Our bodies perform at their peak when we are healthy, enabling us to go about our daily lives with vigour and enthusiasm. A productive existence is built on a foundation of physical fitness. It makes it possible for us to work effectively, pursue our objectives, and fully appreciate life. Even the most plentiful wealth becomes meaningless in the absence of health.

Mental Health

In addition to physical health, mental health is a critical element of our entire prosperity. Ageless wisdom is having a good mind and a healthy body. Our cognitive functioning, emotional stability, and resiliency in the face of difficulties are all influenced by our mental health. Material prosperity can become a cause of stress and unhappiness in the absence of mental wellness.

Economic success

Economic success is directly correlated with good health. People may actively participate in the workforce and make more money when they are healthy. Healthier populations are also less financially burdened by healthcare expenses, releasing funds for other basic requirements. As a result, investing in healthcare is an investment in the prosperity of a country.

Life Quality

The genuine wealth of life is found in its excellence. A person in good health can enjoy life’s joys, go on trips, engage in hobbies, and spend time with loved ones. No amount of money can replace the richness that these experiences bring to life. Healthy people are better able to live fulfilling and pleasurable lives.

To conclude, the motto “Health is Wealth” perfectly describes what a prosperous life entails. While having material possessions is necessary for comfort and security, how we use and enjoy our wealth is ultimately influenced by our health. Given that health is the foundation upon which all other types of wealth are formed, investing in it should be a top priority. One must understand that health is the ultimate treasure that neither money nor anything else can ever fully replace or imitate to truly understand its worth. Therefore, let us never lose sight of the fact that our health is the most priceless asset we have when pursuing success and happiness.

A growing share of Americans say affordable housing is a major problem where they live

A "for rent" sign is posted on an apartment building on June 2, 2021, in San Francisco.

Prospective homebuyers and renters across the United States have seen prices surge and supply plummet during the coronavirus pandemic . Amid these circumstances, about half of Americans (49%) say the availability of affordable housing in their local community is a major problem, up 10 percentage points from early 2018, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted in October 2021.

This Pew Research Center analysis about the levels of concern among Americans about the affordability of housing draws from a Center survey designed to understand Americans’ views and preferences for where they live.

The survey of 9,676 U.S. adults was conducted from Oct. 18 to 24, 2021. Everyone who took part is a member of Pew Research Center’s American Trends Panel (ATP), an online survey panel that is recruited through national, random sampling of residential addresses. This way nearly all U.S. adults have a chance of selection. The survey is weighted to be representative of the U.S. adult population by gender, race, ethnicity, partisan affiliation, education and other categories. Read more about the  ATP’s methodology .

Here are the questions used for this report, along with responses, and its methodology .

References to White, Black and Asian adults include only those who are not Hispanic and identify as only one race. Hispanics are of any race.

“Middle income” is defined here as two-thirds to double the median annual family income for panelists on the American Trends Panel. “Lower income” falls below that range; “upper income” falls above it. Read the  methodology  for more details.

References to respondents who live in urban, suburban or rural communities are based on respondents’ answer to the following question: “How would you describe the community where you currently live? (1) urban, (2) suburban, (3) rural.”

A bar chart showing that younger Americans, urban residents, and those with lower incomes are more likely to express concern about the availability of affordable housing

Another 36% of U.S. adults said in the fall that affordable housing availability is a minor problem in their community, while just 14% said it is not a problem.

Americans’ concerns about the availability of affordable housing have outpaced worries about other local issues. The percentage of adults who say this is a major problem where they live is larger than the shares who say the same about drug addiction (35%), the economic and health impacts of COVID-19 (34% and 26%, respectively) and crime (22%).

Opinions on the question of housing affordability differ by a variety of demographic factors, including income, race and ethnicity, and age. A majority of adults living in lower-income households (57%) say availability of affordable housing is a major issue in their community, larger than the shares of those in middle- (47%) or upper-income households (42%) who say it is a major problem.

Fewer than half of White adults (44%) say that availability of affordable housing is a major problem where they live – lower than the shares of Black (57%), Hispanic and Asian American adults (both 55%) who say the same.

Adults under 50 are more likely than their older counterparts to say affordable housing availability is a major problem locally. More than half of adults ages 18 to 29 and 30 to 49 say this (55% in both age groups), compared with smaller shares of those 50 to 64 and those 65 and older (44% and 39%, respectively).

Americans’ perceptions of this issue also vary based on where they live. About six-in-ten U.S. adults living in urban areas (63%) say that the availability of affordable housing in their community is a major problem, compared with 46% of suburban residents and 40% of those living in rural areas.

Regardless of income level, city dwellers generally tend to view affordable housing availability as a bigger issue than those living in the suburbs or rural areas. Two-thirds of urban adults with lower household incomes (66%) say affordable housing in their area is a major problem, compared with 56% of suburban dwellers with lower incomes and 52% of those with lower incomes living in rural areas. Among upper-income adults, 58% of those living in urban areas say housing affordability is a major problem, compared with 43% of upper-income Americans living in suburban places and 25% of upper-income rural residents.

There are also regional differences. Around seven-in-ten Americans living in the West (69%) say affordable housing availability is a major problem locally. This compares with 49% of Northeasterners, 44% of Americans in the South and 33% of those living in the Midwest.

A rising share of Americans say affordable housing in their area is a major issue

Since 2018, there have been increases across demographic groups in the shares who say that the availability of affordable housing in their community is a major problem. For example, 55% of adults under 30 now say this is a major problem – a 16 percentage point rise from the 39% who said so in 2018. The share of adults ages 30 to 49 who hold this view has also risen from 42% in 2018 to 55% last year.

About six-in-ten Democrats and independents who lean to the Democratic Party (59%) said in 2021 that affordable housing availability is a major problem in their community, compared with 36% of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents.

A chart showing that Americans living in urban areas are more likely to see affordable housing availability locally as a major problem, regardless of party affiliation

These partisan differences remain when looking separately at those who live in urban, suburban and rural communities. Among urban residents, two-thirds of Democrats (67%) see the availability of affordable housing locally as a major problem, compared with 54% of Republicans in urban areas. In suburban or rural communities, smaller majorities of Democrats hold this view (56% in the suburbs and 54% in rural places), compared with around a third of Republicans in those areas (35% and 31%, respectively).

Materials and methods: The present study is an observational retrospective analysis of the results of surgical treatment of 19 patients operated on in 2014-2020 using the posterior transpedicular osteosynthesis technique with Herbert's compression screws for a Hangman's fracture type II according to Levine-Edwards classification. After the operation, the follow-up period lasted for 22 [10; 36] months.

Results: The study group of patients (n=19) made 2.48% of all patients operated on for traumatic injury of the cervical spine (n=766) in the period from 2014 to 2020. In all cases, the surgical treatment was successful; there were no intraoperative complications in the form of damage to the vascular and nerve structures. The average duration of surgery was 70.8±24.5 min, and intraoperative blood loss was 92.9±41.8 ml. The length of hospitalization stay was 7 [5; 17] days. On the postoperative CT scans, no significant screw malposition (>2 mm) was found.

Conclusion: Transpedicular osteosynthesis with compression screws in C 2 traumatic spondylolisthesis is a safe and sparing operation with a short duration and insignificant blood loss. Thorough preoperative planning and knowledge of the anatomic landmarks make it possible to perform this operation effectively under the C-arm X-ray system control without any navigation system.

The stellirist.

“The Stellirist” is one of the outstanding stories of the first biannual International Short Story Contest 2018 written by Sophia Melkumova, Krasnodar School, Russia.

I don’t know it was my dream or reality, but I was standing on the pink, mild sand of absolutely unusual planet. Something like a blue sun was shining and the sky was yellow. There were flowers growing around. They looked like big trees with strong trunks. Their leaves were sticking out like branches. They had huge flowers instead of crowns. The odor of the flower-trees was pleasant. But most of all I was surprised by sounds which were flying up to the sky, and then fell down like a waterfall – til’-din’, til’-din’, din’. Who was playing? It was so interesting for me to see an extra terrestrial musician. I went quietly towards the sounds.

I saw a green being with long tentacles, standing on the pink sand.

“So that's how they look like, the little green men!” I thought.

The strange being used the part of the hind tentacles as a chair, and played the hammock with the front and side tentacles. There was something like a stretched hammock between flowers with a parallel strings like a staff. There was one string above the hammock with the bells, reminding stars. The green being put several tentacles on the strings and touched the bells with the others. The melody was very beautiful.

“Bravo, Maestro!” I thought to myself.

“Nothing special … ” the being mumbled, as it seemed to me.

In fact we didn’t say a word, our thoughts were transmitted telepathically.

There was a music desk in front of the hammock, where I saw a piece of paper with strange signs.

“What sort of blots,” I thought.

The green being heard my thought.

“Why blots?!!! Calligraphically written notes. You are absolutely incompetent in music, as I see.”

May be I am not an expert in music, but I have been practicing about a year, so I was a bit offended.

“Even if I am a total zero, your music is wonderful,” I thought, “I came from the Earth.”

“But who are you to judge! Someone came from the peripheral galaxies with their own meaningless opinion,” the green being became irritated, “I have read on the Cosmonet about your planet, what a horror! The sky is blue, the sun is yellow! All the colors are upside down!”

“Everything is OK with colors on our planet. How can you…”

“Sorry, I’m playing, but it’s not what I want!!! You see, that nothing happens.”

The green being rose all his tentacles to the sky and put them on the strings again with a load groan.

I was standing near him, thinking to leave or to stay.

The disappointed being calmed down a bit and said.

“Please, pardon me, I am very nervous before the All Universe Contest. Let me introduce myself. My name is Til’-Din’. I’m a Stellirist, I’m a laureate of the Intergalactic Stellira Playing Contests. Stellira is from “stella” (star in Latin) and lira.”

“Your instrument sounds like our electronic music,” I said.

“No! How can you compare the electricity itself with the star music?!! Every night the stellira remains in the open air and it is charged with the stars.”

“Sorry, sorry,” I whispered.

“And nothing, nothing is happening…”

“But what is it going to happen?” I asked.

“Oh, don’t bother me!” Til’-Din’ sighed.

He started playing again and it was wonderful, but he was still unhappy.

While he was playing amazingly I heard a light rustle, and the small bright lights began falling down from the yellow sky.

“Hurrah, I’ve managed to do that!” Til’-Din’ cried.

“Wow! He just needed the special effects. How is it concerned to music?” I thought.

“No, that’s not you have thought about,” Til’-Din’ said. “They are Angels who have been applauding me. A musician having a talent must work day and night, to reach an artistic excellence.”

“I think everyone should work hard in any field to become a professional, not only a musician,” I added.

“You are not quite right,” Til’-Din’ replied. “You can get sick and lose your job. Unfortunately such things can occasionally happen even on our planet. The main thing is to treat the people around in the way you could hear the Angels applauding you.”
