Using the French Future Tense

  • Pronunciation & Conversation
  • Resources For Teachers

When you're starting to learn any language, you need to know how to use the future tense. Although it functions similarly in French as in English, some differences are worth considering.

Basic Future Tense in French

The French future tense talks about upcoming events. While the French future tense has a full set of conjugations, the English equivalent is just the modal verb "will" plus the main verb. For example:

  • J'irai au magasin demain. / I will go to the store tomorrow.
  • Ils mangeront dans l'avion. / They will eat on the plane.

Conditional Use

The French future tense can also be used in si clauses , to express what will happen if a condition is met:

  • Si j'ai le temps, je le ferai. / If I have time, I will do it.
  • Je le ferai si j'ai le temps. / I will do it if I have time.

French Vs. English

There are some differences between the French and English future tenses. When the action of the verb after certain constructions will take place in the future, the future tense is used in French, whereas in English the present tense is used:

  • Quand il arrivera, nous mangerons. / When he arrives, we will eat.
  • Je vous téléphonerai dès que je pourrai. / I'll call you as soon as I can.

In journalism and other factual narration, the future is often used in French even though the events are in the past:

  • Né en Martinique, Aimé Césaire étudiera à Paris et redécouvrira l'Afrique. / Born in Martinique, Aimé Césaire studied in Paris and rediscovered Africa.

In French, the future can also be used for polite orders and requests , in place of the vous form of the imperative:

  • Vous fermerez la porte, s'il vous plaît. / Close the door, please.

To express something that is going to occur very soon, you also can use the futur proche  (near future tense).

Irregular Verbs

The future is one of the simplest French tenses. There is only one set of endings for all verbs, and most of them—even many that are irregular in the present tense—use their infinitive as the root. French has only about two dozen  stem-changing  or irregular verbs that have irregular future stems but take the same endings. The exact same verbs are irregular in the  conditional  and use the same stems.

  • acheter  > achèter-   similar verbs:  achever, amener, emmener, lever, promener
  • acquérir  > acquerr-   similar verbs:  conquérir, s'enquérir
  • appeler >  appeller-   similar verbs:  épeler, rappeler, renouveler
  • aller  > ir-
  • avoir  > aur-
  • courir  > courr-   similar verbs:  concourir, discourir, parcourir
  • devoir  > devr-
  • envoyer  > enverr-
  • essayer  > essaier-   similar verbs:  balayer, effrayer, payer
  • essuyer  > essuier-   similar verbs:  appuyer, ennuyer
  • être  > ser-
  • faire  > fer-
  • falloir  > faudr-
  • jeter >  jetter-   similar verbs:  feuilleter, hoqueter, projeter, rejeter
  • nettoyer  > nettoier-   similar verbs:  employer, noyer, tutoyer
  • pleuvoir  > pleuvr-
  • pouvoir  > pourr-
  • savoir  > saur-
  • tenir  > tiendr-   similar verbs:  maintenir, obtenir, soutenir
  • valoir  > vaudr-
  • venir  > viendr-   similar verbs:  devenir, parvenir, revenir
  • voir  > verr-   similar verb:  revoir
  • vouloir  > voudr-

What is the futur simple?

Le futur simple corresponds to the will-future tense in English. We mostly use this tense to talk about future plans or intentions, as well as to make predictions about what may occur in the future. We conjugate the future tense by adding the endings -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez and -ont to the infinitive of the verb.

Learn everything you need to know about the futur simple in French grammar with Lingolia’s quick and easy examples, then put your knowledge to the test in the exercises.

french conjugation future tense essayer

  • Demain, je rangerai les dossiers.
  • Tu ne finiras jamais en une journée.
  • Est-ce que tu pourras m’aider? Si on range à deux, on finira plus vite.

We use the futur simple in the following cases:

  • to talk about future intentions Example: Demain je rangerai les dossiers. Tomorrow I’ll sort the files.
  • to make suppositions or predictions about the future Example: Tu ne finiras jamais en une journée. You’ll never finish that in one day.
  • in conditional sentences ( if sentences) Example: Si on range à deux, on finira plus vite. If we tidy up together, we’ll be done faster.

Futur simple vs. futur proche

The futur simple and the futur proche are used in different contexts, sometimes comparable to the English will vs. going to :

Use the futur simple :

  • to express events in the more distant future (signal words: dans une semaine, l’année prochaine … ) Example: J’ habiterai encore à Paris dans deux ans . In two years I will still be living in Paris.
  • in sentences that contain a subordinate clause introduced by quand, lorsque or dès que. Example: Nous sortirons quand la pluie s’arrêtera. We’ll go out when the rain stops.

Use the futur proche :

  • for the immediate future (signal words: dans une minute, dans une heure, ce soir … ) Example: Je vais dîner avec Jacques et Estelle ce soir . I’m going to have dinner with Jacques and Estelle tonight.
  • in spoken French

To conjugate the futur simple , we take the infinitive of the verb and add the following endings (for -re verbs, we remove the final e ):

The verbs avoir and être are irregular in the futur simple .

To see the conjugation of any French verb in the futur simple , go to our verb conjugator .

  • Add a grave accent to a short e in the stem of the verb. Examples: peser to weigh – je p è serai modeler to model – je mod è lerai
  • Many verbs ending in -eler/-eter double the final consonants. Example: jeter to throw – je je tt erai
  • Some verbs lose the i of the ending - rir before adding the future ending. Examples: courir to run – je cou rr ai mourir to die – je mou rr ai
  • For verbs ending in - yer, the y becomes an i in the futur simple . For verbs ending in - ayer , both y and i are permitted. (Note: the following verbs don’t follow this pattern: envoyer → j’enverrai and renvoyer → je renverrai ). Examples: employer to employ – j’emplo i erai, tu emplo i eras, il emplo i era, nous emplo i erons, vous emplo i erez, ils emplo i eront payer to pay – je pa y erai/pa i erai
  • Verbs ending in - oir are irregular in the futur simple , as are aller, envoyer, faire and venir . Check their conjugation in the list of irregular verbs . Example: pouvoir to be able to – je pourrai , tu pourras , il pourra , nous pourrons , vous pourrez , ils pourront

French future tense conjugations

The French future tense (futur simple) is formed by adding the future ending (-ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont) to the future stem. For example, je parlerai (I will speak), tu parleras (you will speak), il, elle parlera (he, she will speak), nous parlerons (we will speak), vous parlerez (you will speak) and ils, elles parleront (they will speak).

French Future Tense - Guide to both the futur simple and futur proche tenses.

Another future tense called the futur proche is formed by combining the present tense of aller (to go) with an infinitive. For example, je vais parler (I am going to speak).

Futur simple endings for regular verbs

French future tense conjugation.

In French, the futur simple endings (-ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont) are the same for every verb in the the language.

For regular -er and -ir verbs, the future stem is the infinitive of the verb. For regular -re verbs the future stem is the infinitive minus the -e.

The following table shows the futur simple endings for regular verbs .

Irregular verb stems

Many French verbs have an irregular stem in the futur simple . This means that rather than just adding the ending of the infinitive (je parlerai) , the infinitive appears in a completely different spelling.

For example, for the verb “ être “ (to be), the futur simple is je serai (I will be).

Futur simple uses

The following example sentences all use the futur simple . You will see that they all include an element of uncertainty.

  • Si j’ai l’argent, j’achèterai la vo iture. I’ll buy the car if I have the money.
  • J’espère qu’elle viendra demain. I hope she’ll come tomorrow.
  • Je pense qu’il pleuvra demain. I think it’ll rain tomorrow.
  • Je crois que les enfants seront très heureux. I believe the kids will be very happy.

Future-future rule

There is a grammatical in French which I called the “future-future” rule. In English, you say “I will call you when I arrive”.

In French, the futur simple is used for both verbs in this kind of sentence. Hence it would look like: “I WILL call you when I WILL arrive” or “Je vous téléphonerai quand j’ariverai”.

The following sentences are examples of the future-future rule. The trigger words for this rule are underlined.

  • Je t’appellerai dès que j’aurai les nouvelles. I’ll call you once I get the news.
  • Je partirai en vacances quand il fera beau. I’ll go on vacation when it’s nice out.
  • Il se couchera dès qu ‘il finira son travail. He’ll go to bed once he finishes his work.
  • J’achèterai une maison quand j’aurai assez d’argent. I’ll buy a house when I have enough money.

Si clause sentence with futur simple

The futur simple can be used in sentences like, “If I have the money, I will buy the car”. “Si j’ai l’argent, j’achetèrai la voiture” . The rule is: Si + present tense, then + futur simple . Here are some examples:

  • Si j’ai le temps, je partirai en vacances. I’ll go on vacation if I have the time.
  • Si j’ai les moyens, j’acheterai le bateau. I’ll buy the boat if I can afford it.

Futur simple example

Futur antérieur (past future tense)

The futur antérieur (past future tense) is used to describe actions that will have happened in the future. For example, J’aurai mangé (I will have eaten).

  • For verbs which use avoir (to have) as an auxiliary verb in the passé composé , the futur an é rieur is formed with avoir conjugated in the future and the past participle.
  • For verbs which use être as an auxiliary verb in the passé composé , conjugate être in the future and add the past particle.

Futur antérieur conjugation

The following table summarizes the conjugations for the French past future tense and includes a reflexive verb .

Futur antérieur example sentences

The future perfect can be used in straight “will have happened” sentences as well as form anteriority – Action A will have happened before action B.

“Will have” sentences

This following are examples of straight “will have” sentences.

  • J’aurai appris tous ces verbes avant la fin de l’année. I will have learned all these verbs before the end of the year.
  • Tu aura déjà trouvé un nouveau boulot avant juillet. You will have already found a new job before July.
  • Nous aurions acheté une nouvelle maison avant 2022. We will have bought a new house before 2022.

Anteriority examples

The following example sentences introduce the idea of “anteriority”: When action A occurs, action B will have already occurred.

  • Quand tu arriveras à la maison, j’aurai déjà fini mon repas. When you get home, I’ll already have finished my meal.
  • Quand elle partira, je serai déjà parti. When she leaves, I’ll already have left.
  • Dès que tu accepteras ma décision, nous en parlerons. Once you accept my decision, we’ll talk about it.

Probability

The following example sentences express probability: Action A should have happened.

  • Il aura encore oublé le rendez-vous! He must have forgotten the meeting again!
  • Elle aura encore brûlé le gateau! She must have burnt the cake again!
  • Ils auront encore raté l’examen! They must have failed the exam again!

The following example sentences cover the concept of “whether” – “I wonder if + completed action”.

  • Je me demande si elle sera venue. I wonder if she came.
  • Je voudrais savoir s’ils auront fini les devoirs. I’d like to know if they finished the homework.
  • Je me demand s’il se sera rendu compte de sa faute. I wonder if he realized his mistake.

Futur antérieur example

Futur proche: Near future tense

The futur proche is formed by following a conjugated form of aller + infinitive . For example, je vais manger (I’m going to eat). Je vais is the conjugated form of aller in the first-person singular form and manger is the infinitive of to eat.

Futur proche conjugation

French near future tense (le futur proche) conjugation.

Futur proche uses and examples

The futur proche often suggests a high level of certainty, meaning it is very likely that the event will happen in the future.

The name of the tense is literally the “near” future tense, the described event can occur both in the immediate (next few minutes) or more distant (next few years) future.

The main point is that there is that the level of certainty is higher than the futur simple, which we will see below.

Example sentences:

  • Je vais acheter les billets. I am going to buy the tickets (it is certain; I have a reservation).
  • Nous allons dîner au restaurant. We are going to eat out (again it is certain, we have a reservation).
  • Ils vont achter la maison. They are going to buy the house (Again, it is certain – they got approved for the loan).

To negate the future proche , wrap ne…pas around the conjugated form of aller . This page on our site covers French negation rules in detail.

  • Je ne vais pas manger. I’m not going to eat.
  • Il ne va pas travailler. He’s not going to dance.

Futur proche example

There are two ways to express the future in French: The futur proche and the future simple .

The futur simple describes slightly less certain events and is formed by adding endings to the infinitive ( Je parlera; I will speak).

The futur proche has a high degree of certainty is formed with aller + infinitive ( Je vais parler ; I am going to speak).

The futur antérieur describes events which which will have occurred in the future ( J’aurai mangé ; I will have eaten).

The Future Tense in French: Your Essential Guide

Let’s talk about the future.

We can talk about topics like the trip you’re planning to France next spring.

And the soccer game you’re going to next week, or  your French self-study session  planned for this evening.

To discuss any of these events in  daily French conversations , we’re going to need to know how to use the future tenses.

When to Use the Future Tenses

The Present Tense as Future in French

Where to practice the french future tense, and one more thing....

French has multiple future   tenses, and just like in English, they’re used when referring to events that haven’t occurred yet—things that will take place anytime in l’avenir   (the future). The indicative tense forms of the future   tense   are also sometimes used to express other things, such as:

  • Politeness : “Je vous demanderai de ne pas faire de bruit.”   (I have to ask you to not make noise.)
  • Probability or hypothesis : “Si ça sonne à la porte, ce sera sûrement lui” (If it rings at the door, it will surely be him.)
  • Emotion : “Nous devrons tout supporter en silence.”  (We must endure everything silently.)

Of course, it expresses the future as well, and it can be simple to use.

The simple future tense ( le futur simple )  is the basic form of the future, and the English equivalent of “ will + verb .” Here’s an example of how the simple future tense is used:

Ils mangeront dans l’avion. (They will eat on the plane.)

Note that in French, there is no translation for the often-used “will” in English. The future tense is one entity; more specifically, it is made of the entire verb plus an ending, depending on what subject is being used.

In the above case, ils   refers to a group of people ( “Il”   meaning “he” and the extra “s” meaning “they,” referring to either a group of men or a group of men and women).  Ils  (and elles ,  which is used for groups of women) gets an ending of  -ont  at the end. For further explanation about what endings go with what subject, see the conjugation section below.

The future perfect tense ( le futur antérieur ) , on the other hand, expresses an act that will have happened in the future. Here’s an example of how the future perfect tense is used:

Demain, j’aurai déjà lu mon livre. (Tomorrow, I will have already read my book.)

See here how this tense is very specific. You know for a fact that you’ve set aside time to read the book tomorrow, and, therefore, it will be finished.

Oftentimes, these two tenses are used together:

Quand j’aurai déjeuné, je travaillerai. (After I’ve eaten, I will start working).

The first half of that sentence is in the future perfect tense ,  and expresses an action (eating) that you know will have to be completed before you are able to complete the next action in the future (working, expressed with the simple future tense).

Here’s how to conjugate both tenses. One of my favorite tools for looking up irregular conjugations is WordReference , as well as my book of  “501 French Verbs” .

The guidelines are for regular conjugations , so use the aforementioned tools for complete conjugating rules. You’ll also find some common irregular verbs conjugated in the simple future tense below.

Formation of Simple Future Tense: Use the entire verb as the stem, adding -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont at the end.

Here are two examples of regular -er and -ir verbs conjugated in the simple future tense:

Regular  -re  verbs also follow a pattern : simply remove the “e” from the ending of the infinitive and add your future endings. For example: for descendre   (to descend, to go down) and apprendre (to learn), add the future endings to the stem descendr- ( je descendr ai , etc) and apprendr- ( je apprendrai , etc) respectively.

Conjugating  être  and  avoir in the Simple  Future Tense

Être (to be)   and avoir   (to have) are not only basic verbs in French, but are also helping verbs for the future perfect tense. They have irregular conjugations in the simple future tense ,  just as they’re irregular in the present tense. Since we’ll be using their simple future conjugations when we form the future perfect tense, here are their simple future tense conjugations for reference:

Notice that with irregular verbs, it’s only the stem that changes —the endings remain the same. For avoir , the stem is  aur-,  and for être,  it’s  ser- .

There are many other verbs that also have irregular conjugations in the simple future tense (meaning the stem changes). Here are some of the most common irregular verb conjugations :

For more irregular verbs in the simple future tense, check out this very useful ThoughtCo. article .

Channel your knowledge of the simple past tense , the French tense that uses either  avoir  or être as a stem with a past participle . A past participle indicates a past or completed action or time, and there is a specific participle for every verb in the French language.

To form the past participle:

For regular -er verbs , like parler: knock off the “r” and accent the “e.” For  parler,  we get  parlé.

For regular -ir verbs , like finir: take away the “r.” For finir , we get fini .

For regular -re verbs , like descendre: remove the “re” and add “u.” For descendre , we get descendu .

Formation of Future Perfect Tense: Simple future (of main verb’s auxiliary,  avoir or  être ) + past participle (of main verb).

How do you know which helping verb to use ( avoir  or être )? Well, each French verb either takes one or the other, so with time you’ll learn which verbs go with which helping verb.

For now, know that most verbs that use  être  are verbs of movement (although not all verbs of movement use être ). Reflexive verbs such as s’habiller   (to get dressed) also use  être  as their helping verb.

The best way to remember when starting out is to familiarize yourself with the main verbs that take  être  as its helping verb. When I was learning French, my French professors suggested the following mnemonic:  DR. AND MRS. VANDERTRAMPP.

D evenir (to come from) R evenir (to come back, to return) & M onter (to go up, climb) R ester (to stay) S ortir (to go out)

V enir (to come) A ller (to go) N aître (to be born) D escendre (to go down) E ntrer (to enter) R entrer (to return) T omber (to fall) R etourner (to return) A rriver (to arrive, to come) M ourir (to die) P artir (to leave) P asser (to pass [by])

This list is not exhaustive, but it covers the verbs that people use most often.

Here are some of these verbs conjugated in the future perfect tense:

The rest of the time, verbs use  avoir  as their helping verb .

The verbs parler (to speak) , entendre (to hear) and finir (to finish) take avoir as their helping verb. So, to form the future perfect tense, we begin with the conjugated avoir  (in simple future tense) and pair it with the past participle of  parler, entendre or finir .

For a full list of past participles, check out this chart.

The Near Future Tense:   Using Aller  to Express the Future

The near future tense ( le futur proche ) is used to express something that will be happening in the very near future , and is formed by conjugating the verb aller (to go) into the present tense and pairing it with the infinitive verb .

Formation of Near Future Tense: Present tense of aller  + infinitive (main verb)

Here’s a sample sentence in the near future tense:

Je vais nager. (I am going to swim.)

See here that  aller  is conjugated in the present while  nager  stays in its infinitive form, unconjugated. You would say this if you were going swimming  in the near future.

If you were going to swim sometime further in the future, your sentence would look more like this:

    Je nagerai.  (I will swim.)

This implies that you will swim sometime in the future. You can, of course, add words to be more specific, like la semaine prochaine   (next week), demain   (tomorrow) or l’été prochain   (next summer).

In French, the future can also be expressed using the present tense . You’ll often see an exchange similar to the one below:

John : Je rentre chez moi bientôt.   (I’m going home soon.) Molly : Ok, j’arrive dans cinq minutes.   (I’ll be there in five minutes.)

Notice here that no future tense is being used in the French. When you use a word that implies the future, like bientôt   (soon), dans cinq minutes   (in five minutes), l’an prochain   (next year) or demain   (tomorrow), you’re already expressing the future within the sentence.

Therefore, in spoken French, the future is sometimes completely left off.

The best way to learn how to use the future   tense is to practice. Here are some good ways to do so:

  • Find a language partner who’s a native French speaker. This is especially crucial when it comes to distinguishing between using the present tense to express the future and the future tense itself. Learning how and when to use these tenses in everyday conversation is crucial, and will help your writing skills , as well.
  • This BBC future tense article has great comprehensive examples of how and when to use the future tense ,  the present tense as the future and the near future tense.
  • Use ToLearnFrench.com to practice the future tense with quizzes.
  • Watch French television or movies and  listen to podcasts in French . Listen for the future   tense and take note of both how it’s used and when native speakers use it, such as on news podcasts when the hosts try to predict what will happen next.

So try out some of these methods, listen to how the future tense is used and then try it for yourself.

Who knows, perhaps in l’avenir  with all of your forthcoming knowledge, you  will  want to talk about what’s to come in your career, family life and romantic relationships.

And if not, you’re safe to use this French with whatever’s just around the corner!

How To Form And Use The French Future Tense(s) With Examples

Trying to get a good grasp on the French future tense in your French course but found it a bit challenging?

That’s probably because French verb conjugation can be a bit tricky.

When you add to this the fact that there are different future tenses used in French, this will add to your workload in terms of the verb conjugations you will have to remember.

French future tenses aren’t as challenging mastering French pronunciation or getting the accent marks correct, in my opinion.

Keep reading and I’ll show you why.

What are the main French future tenses?

In French, there are three main future tense modes to consider.

These future tenses are:

  • The French simple future tense (le futur simple)
  • The aller + infinitive mode (le futur proche), and
  • The French anterior future tense (le futur antérieur)

I’ll expand on these future tense modes in detail.

How to use the French simple future tense

The French simple future tense is used to describe events that will occur in the future.

To help you understand this better, here’s a sentence that uses the simple future form in English:

‘Chelsea will become champions of Europe in the Champions league’.

The keyword ‘will’ that you see in the English example is usually contained within a French verb to indicate that the sentence uses the French simple future tense.

Here are a few examples for you:

Elle étudiera l’informatique à partir du mois prochain.

Il achètera une nouvelle maison la semaine prochaine.

I mentioned that the word ‘will’ is contained within the corresponding French verb.

This is where French verb conjugation comes into play. Take the examples above. The endings of the verbs étudiera and achètera , which mean ‘will study’ and ‘will buy’ respectively, have been altered from their infinitive forms.

This is how you know that these events will happen in the future.

What that means is that mastering French verb conjugation is crucial if you want to gain confidence with the French simple future tense.

Every French verb in the infinitive ends in an ER , IR or RE .

So, to create the relevant verb conjugation, you will need to replace the ER , IR and RE verb endings with the appropriate suffix.

Here are some simple future verb conjugations for ER , IR and RE verbs:

Note that the subject pronoun J’/Je should be contracted to the J ’ form when used in front of a verb that begins with a vowel.

Using the aller + infinitive mode (le futur proche) to talk about events in the near future

The second French future tense is the aller + infinitive mode.

This mode is similar to the French simple future mode but differs due to the way it should be conjugated. It also uses a different formula to the simple future tense.

In a similar way to the English future tense, which uses the verb ‘going to’, the aller + infinitive mode uses the French verb aller (to go) in the present tense . So, if you wanted to say that you’re going to visit France, you would say:

Je vais visiter la France.

Here’s a second example of the aller + infinitive mode in action:

Elle va bien dormir ce soir.

As you might have noticed from the examples above, the verb aller needs to be altered if you want to refer to different people or subjects of the sentence. Here’s how you can conjugate the French verb aller , to help you form sentences using the aller + infinitive mode:

Now you can see that if you were speaking about an event in the future that will happen to a different subject, you would need to select the right conjugation of the verb aller and follow it with a verb in the infinitive form.

For instance, to say ’ we are going to sleep well tonight’ instead of ’ she is going to sleep well tonight’, the nous form of the verb aller would be required:

Nous allons bien dormir ce soir.

Our final point about the aller + infinitive mode is to emphasise that a verb in the infinitive form always needs to follow the verb aller . This is because the conjugated verb aller on its own just means ‘going to’. So, you’ll need to add an infinitive verb such as dormir (without conjugating it) to create sentences — like the example we’ve included above.

When to use the French anterior future (future perfect) tense

The French anterior future tense is used to refer to events that are likely to be finished by a particular moment in time — which would be some time in the future. It is also used in moments where you assume an event has already been completed in the past. In English you would use the phrase ‘will have’ to use this tense. For instance:

‘She will have finished this article by the end of the day.’

Take a look at the French version of the anterior future tense:

Demain elle aura fini de planter les graines.

Demain il aura fini son travail.

To create sentences in the French future perfect tense, you will need to conjugate the verb avoir (‘to have’) in the future tense, and follow it up with the past participle of the verb that describes the action you’re talking about.

For the examples above, we have used the past participle of the verb ‘finished’ ( fini ).

Take a look at the following table to help you with the conjugation of the verb avoir :

Why some French natives use the present tense when describing the future

You might sometimes hear French natives using the present tense for future events.

As a French beginner , this might seem confusing at first. But, if you think about it, this is similar to English. Say you wanted to mention that you’re leaving tomorrow to go to France.

In English you could even say:

‘We leave tomorrow to go to France’.

We don’t always say ‘we will be leaving tomorrow to go to France’ . We sometimes use the present tense in colloquial conversations.

And this is the same in French. For instance, you might hear people say:

Nous allons à Angleterre demain.

Get your conjugations correct: keep practicing your French future tense

Now it’s your turn.

Key to becoming a master of the French future tense are verb conjugations. And you might have noticed that there are lots of them.

To help with this, flashcards are ideal (also see Anki and Memrise ). Create your flashcards for the verbs in their infinitive forms.

Work your way through the stack and write down the conjugations for each one. Then check whether you’ve got them right. This will augment what you learn in your French course and help you become more confident with the French future tense.

I also recommend that you take a look at the French learning resources page, which cover verbs and tenses in greater detail.
