The objective of this research is to map, based on the literature, studies that report on how agile portfolio management is applied in companies. The context of this study examines how global competition and volatility affect the management of digital systems portfolios. The results indicate that the studies suggest that the agile approach is the one that best fits this context. In the systematic review of the selected studies, only 6 works were found to be relevant to the research objective, highlighting that the topic of agile portfolio management is underexplored in the literature, as no articles were found that mention the most commonly used frameworks today and/or demonstrate how they are implemented. It is expected that this study will contribute to academic researchers studying agile portfolio management, as there is a scarcity of scientific works addressing the impact of this type of management on organizations. Regarding its contribution to the market, it is hoped that prof...

With an emphasis on adaptive processes that respond to uncertainties, the Agile Project Management (APM) approach has evolved the way projects are managed beyond the traditional processes. This study aims to investigate recent literature on APM to discover the adoption drivers and the critical success factors that influence APM success and provide recommendations for the development of APM best practices. The study conducted a literature search on academic databases ABI/Inform, ACM Digital Library, EBSCO Host, and IEEE Xplore with keywords ‘agile’ and ‘project management’ for peer-reviewed English language articles published between January 2015 and January 2020 to discover insights regarding adoption drivers and critical success factors. Eleven (11) drivers of adoption and thirteen (13) critical success factors related to the project dimensions of Project, Team, and Culture were discovered. The findings of this study outline the current state of APM adoption and use and is relevant...
Software Project Management in a Changing World

The objectives of this study was to bring out the understanding of the concept of agile IT project management; what it is and what it is not. It was also aimed at comparing the pros and cons of both agile and traditional methods of IT project management in a typical industry setting; the challenges of going purely agile, and so on. It is purely a review of literature of peer reviewed papers sourced mainly from Google Scholar. It was revealed that agile outweigh the traditional methods in terms of benefits, but its implementation poses a lot of challenges due to a number of issues, paramount among them being organizational culture and empowerment of the project team. This has resulted in a number of industries sticking to the traditional methods despite the overwhelming benefits of agile. In another school of thought, the combination of the two paradigms is the way forward.

Popularity of Agile Methods is growing up and along with this popularity is also growing the interest in adopting these methods in conjunction with maturity models, like CMMI. Dozens of reports about this topic can be found with different results. Therefore, a Systematic Literature Review was conducted with the goal of identifying characteristics of agile project management in organizations using agile methods and maturity models. We accepted 34 primary studies published from 2001 to 2013. The results show that the area still lacks details on how to perform the software development activities, what techniques can be used to meet issues not directly addressed by agile methods without losing the desired agility and what tools can be used to facilitate the combination of approaches.

This paper constitutes an innovative attempt to analyse the risks and negative phenomena dependencies within a project portfolio. Based on the available literature, the risks and negative phenomena (that is, the problems with the availability of resources, interpersonal conflicts, irregularities in the portfolio balance, etc.) specific to a project portfolio were identified.

Therefore, this research aims to conduct a systematic review of Agile project management or Agile methods using a novel research methodology called Systematic Literature Network Analysis (SLNA).
The systematic literature review (SLR) results revealed more than 3500 papers. After filtering and applying exclusion criteria, just 80 were analyzed. Main findings were that, in spite of some reserves, project management methodologies based on Lean are used. Nevertheless, Agile methodologies are the most used. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
In this sense, this study aims to analyze the relevant scientific literature on Agile Project Management through a systematic review and a bibliometric analysis of articles published in scientific journals with Digital Object Identifier, in English, from the Web of Science and Scopus databases, from 2001 to 2021.
