Balancing homeschooling, housekeeping and running a business is challenging. One thing that helps me stay organized is a good homeschooling checklist! Today I’m going to share with you my homeschool daily checklist (and yes – there’s a free printable at the end of the post!).

Everyone is different, but I personally love to have a routine to follow in our homeschool. When I first began homeschooling , I scheduled everything out to the hour each day, thinking that if I could just have the perfect plan and schedule, my homeschool would run smoothly.

Those of you with multiple little ones can empathize with me on how that actually turned out! That schedule was out the door after the first month (I really tried for a few weeks!).

Don’t get me wrong – schedules can be great. I used to teach high school math, so it’s no wonder I tried to run my homeschool in a similar fashion, schedule-wise. But at this time in our lives, a loose routine and a homeschool daily checklist is working much better!

This simple, FREE printable checklist helps keep my kids on task and organized in our homeschool. Grab your homeschool daily checklist today.

I use a homeschooling checklist to not only keep me on track with what we have to accomplish each day, but to help teach my kids to manage their time well.

Not only does it help them learn how self-regulate, but having a checklist helps them take ownership about moving through their school day without me nagging them every step of the way (who wants that?). Plus, it’s satisfying to check off all those little boxes and see what you’ve accomplished that day!

Using Our Homeschool Checklists

I’m often asked what our homeschool routine looks like, so I wanted to share that first so you can see how we use our checklists.

Note : the one thing I do not put on our homeschool daily checklist is a list of specific chores . I created separate chore charts to use for that, as we use a zone cleaning method with our kids in our home. You can read more about that here !

So once the kids wake up, they have breakfast and get ready for the day (get dressed, brush teeth and hair). I used to include those tasks on our charts, but since my kids are a little bigger now, they are more habits than anything.

Most days we’ll then together to pray or do our bible lesson before separating into individual school work.

homeschool daily assignment checklist

This year we are using BJU Press Homeschool for most of our curriculum, and it has been a blessing in this season! My older kids (3rd, 2nd, and 2nd grade) have gotten a chance to be more self-directed in their school work while I chase the toddler around. The mixture of independent and parent-led learning has been a good balance for us.

[CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT ONE OF OUR TOP CURRICULUM PICKS]

On their checklists, I write down each thing they need to finish daily. This varies per child, but for example, my son’s checklist typically reads :

  • Heritage Studies/Science
  • Handwriting
  • 15 Minutes Piano
  • AWANAS work
  • 30 minutes of silent reading
  • Chores (listed on here as a reminder to finish them!)

So mostly I list out the subjects he needs to complete, along with anything else that week that needs to get done.

The great thing about a homeschool checklist is that it isn’t tied to a strict time, but gives my kids a guideline of what is expected of them.

It’s also very helpful for me, since I have kids at different levels and I am not working with all of them at once all the time… it helps me keep track of who has done what!

I also jokingly call our checklists the “Can I have electronics?” form , because before we started using them, that’s inevitably what I would get asked all day. Now my kids know that if they want to have the privilege of using their electronics, they need to show me that their charts are completed.

Most days my kids get through their entire list, but if they don’t, they know they have to do a little bit extra the next day or on the weekend (we will discuss these expectations together depending on the circumstances).

Filling Out Your Homeschool Checklist Printable

I hope these checklists will also be a super easy way for you to help your kids keep track of their daily tasks!

There are 10 different designs I have created; let your student pick out their favorite one (might make it a little more fun to complete). You can print one out for each week and put it in the front of a binder or planner. Another great option is to laminate it or stick it in a page protector and use a dry-erase marker!

The Daily Task list and Weekly Habit sections are editable , so if you are going to print them weekly, you can easily edit them on your computer first.

homeschool daily assignment checklist

(The blue editable fields will print clear when you print the homeschool checklists!)

Simply list out the tasks you would like your kids to complete each day in your homeschool. Most likely this will be school work or subjects, but if you don’t have chore charts , you might also include chores (really anything that needs to be completed each day).

It’s best to be specific with your tasks when applicable! For example, writing “30 minutes violin practice” is better than just “practice violin”, so your child has a boundary to follow.

Homeschool Habit Tracker Checklist

Use the “Weekly Habits” space at the bottom to track things that might not get done every day, but you still want your kids to get into a good habit of doing them!

For us, I included music practice and silent reading on our checklist as things I want done every day, but you could include them in the habit section instead. Bible study or devotion time might be good to write in if your kids are working on that habit.

The mother who takes pains to endow her children with good habits secures for herself smooth and easy days. Charlotte Mason

If your kids are working on personal care habits like brushing their teeth, daily bathing, brushing their hair, or picking up their rooms, those could go in the habits section.

Talk with your kids and let them help you come up with good habits they want to work on! Then look over their lists each week to see if they are meeting their goals. After a few weeks of creating the habits, take them off the checklist and see how they do keeping it up.

Teaching Your Kids to Use the Homeschool Daily Checklist

If this is the first time you have used a homeschool daily checklist, it may take time for your kids to be able to use them independently. They may need practice, and for you to guide them through it a bit at first.

Soon, they will begin to appreciate the direction having a checklist gives them as they work through their day.

homeschool daily assignment checklist

As you teach them the skills they need to use a checklist, you will love to see them become more independent and able to move from task to task unprompted.

  • When you first start, add tasks that are manageable for your kids , so they can feel that sense of accomplishment when they complete everything. Keep time in mind too – you don’t want to add too many things that it becomes impossible to complete within your day.
  • A good idea is to sit down and have your kids talk you through the checklist – let them explain to you what they will have to do to check off each item . This lets you know that they understand the expectations, and that the tasks you wrote are clear!
  • Help your kids set goals , and maybe even a reward for finishing their homeschool daily checklist. Like I said, screen time/electronics is a big motivator for us, but it might be something different in your home.

Finally, make sure YOU take time each day to go over the checklist and actually check it! Make sure to hold your kids accountable to finishing their tasks; if they don’t think someone will check it, they will be tempted to cut corners (or not even use the tool).

Needing a way to help your child stay on task and become more independent and responsible for their work? Or just wanting to teach them about staying accountable and getting the job done?

Using a homeschool daily checklist helps us organize our week and is preparing my kids to be more responsible as they get older.

What is a homeschool daily checklist?

To put it simply, it’s a list that allows you and your child to see what’s left to accomplish for the homeschool day (and the week). A homeschool daily checklist lists all of your student’s subjects and what they’ll be doing in those subjects for the day. When the lesson or assignment is completed, they simply check it off.

Our homeschool daily checklists

Why Use One?

My kids are still young, but using a checklist every week helps give them a visual representation of the work that we need to get through on a daily and weekly basis. Which means they feel “in the loop” during our school day.

As they get older, it’ll also make them more responsible for their own work. Right now, they have some independent assignments, but for the most part, I’m guiding them or completely doing lessons with them. But when they’re older, our homeschool daily checklist will be a great way to keep them on track and show them what they still need to work on without all of the hand-holding.

It’s also great practice to help your child learn to read charts!

How to Use a Homeschool Daily Checklist

Filling out the homeschool assignment checklist

So to do this, you’ll first need to:

  • have your plan for the year done and
  • have a weekly lesson plan

(Or at least that’s how I organize mine!) For more on planning your homeschool year, check out this post:

How to Plan a Full Year of Homeschool in as Little as One Weekend

And keep an eye out for a post where I share our free lesson planning printable!

Writing Your Weekly Plan

So first, I make our weekly lesson plan based on our yearly plan. Then I take that weekly lesson plan for each subject and write it (in a more simplified form) on each of my kids’ weekly checklists.

For example, I’ll look at my plans for Bible. Let’s say we’re in the book of Exodus that week. My lesson plan would include details for the chapters and ideas we were covering each day. Then on the checklist, I’d just write the theme or chapters of the day. So when we’re talking about Mount Sinai and God giving the ten commandments, I could either write “10 commandments” in the box OR “chapters 19-20.”

Where to Put It

Next, put the daily checklist in a place where your student can easily access it and check it off daily. We have folders where I put their daily independent work, and the front of those folders have a clear pocket — the perfect spot for our checklists!

Our homeschool daily checklist in the front pocket of a folder

How Your Child Uses Their Checklist

Every day, your child will then check off their tasks as they’re completed. Like I said, since my children are still young, I guide them through their day. But the checklist is preparing them for going it alone.

So if your child is older, they can look at each task on their list, complete them one-by-one, and check them off as they go.

Right now, as we get each activity done, I’ll give my kids a gentle reminder.

“Okay we’re all finished with your math lesson. What do you get to do now?” “Check off my list!”

SIDE NOTE: Consider building in some time at the end of the week to have “catch-up time” for any assignments that had to be pushed back or needed some extra work. If there’s ever a time when everything is done, the kids get extra time playing or doing something else they enjoy.

Our Checklist

We do nine different subjects/activities that I wanted to have space for: Bible, language arts, handwriting, reading, math, social studies, science, interest study, and specials (music, art, nature, and library).

UPDATE: Our checklists are a little different now. I do rows for Bible, creative, Science / Social Studies, Language extras (phonics, sight words & spelling), Language Arts, Math, Independent Work, and “Special” (anything extra we may be doing for the day).

In our box for language arts, I also included a breakdown of the different things we do during that time (phonics, sight words, spelling, and our lesson from The Good & the Beautiful ). It just helps keep us on track and remember what words they’re supposed to be working on every week.

How to Customize it

No one wants to have to write every subject every time they make a checklist for the week. Instead, I suggest writing your child’s name and your subjects once. Then make color copies of that sheet for however many weeks you’ll be homeschooling this year.

Whatever saves a little time!

The Best Homeschool Block Schedule for Middle & High School

homeschool daily assignment checklist

Our homeschool day schedule has varied over the years. And as the boys have gotten older, I’ve found that a homeschool block schedule for middle & high school (with a daily checklist) is the easiest to implement while still giving the boys freedom to complete their assignments in the order they want.

The blocks give them a rough framework to keep them on task while the checklist keeps them accountable for their assignments.

The daily homeschool schedule that we are currently implementing includes 3 blocks:

  • Morning Tasks Block
  • Independent Work Block
  • ELA/Science Block

Because each of these blocks contains assignments and tasks that are unique to that particular block, I want to look at each one individually to show you EXACTLY what is included and how we get homeschooling accomplished each day.

Daily Homeschool Block Schedule for Middle & High School

1. morning tasks block.

The boys usually wake up and begin their homeschooling day at 7:30 am.

This morning tasks block includes 4 sections.

  • Personal hygiene is the first thing they do. This always begins with a shower for my oldest and face washing for my youngest. Then they put away their pjs, choose their clothing for the day, and put on deodorant. I found that they needed a reminder of what they needed to do each morning, so I made a list of EVERYTHING for them. Now, they simply look at their weekly checklists if they forget.
  • Breakfast is usually a bowl of cereal or oatmeal for my youngest and a small snack for my oldest. My older son doesn’t typically like to eat when he first gets up, but my youngest is just like me…he wakes up hungry and ready to eat!
  • Bedroom pick up involves making up beds and picking up any dirty clothes or random clutter that happens to have appeared during the night!
  • Weekly chores are the things that do not require daily attention, but that definitely need to be completed each week. These include things like cleaning their bathroom, dusting their bedroom furniture, and washing their personal laundry.

2. Independent Work Block

This is probably the one block that has evolved the most over the years.

When the boys were in elementary school, they were able to read a book of their choice independently, but the rest of our day was usually spent with me bouncing back and forth between the boys teaching and assisting as needed.

If there were opportunities for them to complete a task or lesson independently, I let them. But, for the most part, I typically instructed them in math, writing, science, and history.

As they’ve gotten older, I’ve given them the tools they need to be independent learners. So, both of my boys use  Teaching Textbooks  for math, various  Bible studies from Kim Sorgius , an online History class for my oldest through Modern States, and  Rosetta Stone for Spanish .

Independent work resources we use with our homeschool block schedule for middle & high school

Each of these classes is completed online in some form or fashion. Therefore, I am not needed to “teach” anything in these particular subjects.

If they have trouble or are confused on any aspect, they know they can ask for my help at any time. However, they are generally able to complete their assignments for these subjects without any intervention from me.

To keep them accountable, they have to write down what assignment they completed and I go behind them to check their work. Now that my oldest is in high school, I generally check his independent work every two days.

3. ELA & Science Block

This is the block that requires the most facilitation from me.

Although I call it the ELA & Science block, this is also when we talk about the Bible studies they are completing and pray together. When they were younger, we did ALL of our Bible time together. But, as they’ve gotten older, I have given them the opportunity to complete their Bible study independently.

Making Bible study part of their morning routine is encouraging them to spend time growing spiritually every day and to develop personal relationships with the Lord.

English and Language Arts (or ELA for short) is the only subject that I actually teach them individually every day.

This includes everything from grammar and mechanics to spelling and writing. Since this is a broad subject, and one my boys are NOT fond of, I have had to find resources that were easy for them to use but still encouraged deep thinking.

My youngest son uses the Article of the Week and Short Story of the Month resources by Lovin’ Lit. (You can find these for a variety of grade levels on Teachers Pay Teachers, and I cannot recommend them highly enough!!)

My oldest is currently using the Full Year High School English by Laura Randazzo from Teachers Pay Teachers. (It is the most inclusive product I could find…and it is AMAZING!!)

They both use Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) for writing.

Science is something they can both complete semi-independently. In other words, some days they can complete this without any help at all, other days require minimal assistance, but some days require a LOT of my help.

That’s why I have included that in this block of our daily homeschool schedule.

If they can complete it on their own, I definitely encourage it. But, if for some reason they need help, I am available to facilitate.

We LOVE Apologia science!

It is very in-depth and my favorite part of this curriculum is the audio CDs of the textbook. (This is just one more way to help them be more independent while making sure that they are hearing the correct pronunciation of large scientific words.)

Homeschool Daily Schedule Printable with Checklist

I created this daily/weekly schedule printable with checklist as a visual reminder to help my boys be aware of what they needed to accomplish each day in a given week.

And as with most things, the design (and layout) has changed since they’ve gotten older.

Originally, I wrote down the tasks and assignments they needed to complete each day in a “lesson plan” book just like I did as a public school teacher.

This was the easiest way for me to stay on track with what the boys needed to accomplish.

However, as they’ve gotten older, I’ve started letting them take more responsibility for their learning by giving them a blank daily schedule.

They write down their daily assignments, and then check the box when they’ve completed the assignment.

Then, at the end of the day, I check to see what they’ve written down and completed for the day.

Homeschool block schedule for middle & high school

Of course, I’m very aware of what they need to be doing each day and I remind them to write down everything in the event that a section is left blank.

This removes the temptation and potential for dishonesty as well as the possibility for a subject to get overlooked.

Truthfully, creating a homeschool block schedule for middle & high school has proven to be the BEST homeschool schedule template for us.

The boys have started taking personal ownership of their learning! And the daily schedule printable has provided them with the tangible accountability that they need to become successful.

Two Versions Student Checklist Free Homeschool Planner

One of the best things about the homeschool moms who have downloaded my homeschool planner is that they are always coming up with ideas for new planning pages.

I have been working hard behind the scenes to get these out to people who request them and also to get them to you as well. I have a bit of a backlog so bear with me!

Today, we are talking about the student clipboards we use to help organize the kids’ day. In this less-than-three-minute video, I give you an overview of how we use them and some tips.

Things that go on our clipboards:

  • Weekly checklists (see below)
  • Any perforated worksheets like our math or All About Reading sheets.
  • Copywork sheets
  • Lesson tracking sheets from our curricula.
  • Work in progress.

Free Homeschool Planner: Student Weekly Checklists

I am including two download options for you for a student weekly checklist. I am always tweaking and changing and this is the latest one I came up with at the beginning of the year.

I have ours typed out and just print it in black and white each week — nothing fancy. We use a four-day option because we have co-op on Tuesdays. I have also included a five-day option as well. Download the one that helps you the most.

These have been really handy keeping us on track. I don’t know about at your house, but sometimes at ours the day gets crazy and it is hard to remember what has and has not been done. A quick glance down the checklist makes sure everything gets finished before they distract me so much I forget what needs to be done.

Like all of my free and paid planning pages you can type in these using Adobe Reader, save them to your computer, and print them again and again. This free homeschool planner tutorial will show you how.

freedom from vice and freedom for virtue

We are list people. I love them and my children love them. We have used various systems over the 20+ years of homeschooling and lists are always at the center.

homeschool daily assignment checklist

I use lists with the goal of having my children become independent managers of their time and school work by the time they’re 13 years old.

These last two years of homeschooling have been different for us as we have made some shifts in homeschooling that we never anticipated. We continue to do more as the Good Lord prompts us.

There have been good fruits but the changes have also stretched us all in many ways. Recently, I was sharing my woes with a dear friend , Jessica who is also a veteran homeschooling mom of many. She offered encouragement and reshared the checklist that she uses for her children.

homeschool daily assignment checklist

I decided to bring back the checklist for one of my children as it was clear the increased workload was too much for this child to organize on their own with a standard planner. I was also having challenges keeping up with what was due as the assignments are shared weekly vs. what we’ve been used to.

The new checklist that we’re incorporating provides a streamlined way for us to record what is due, breakdown workload, and help keep on task. It can be used for a traditional homeschooler or child in a classroom to everything in between.

You may use the checklist for your own use.

homeschool daily assignment checklist

To use this checklist:

  • click link/open file
  • save a copy of the file to your Google Drive
  • personalize for your child (copy and paste checkboxes if needed)
  • print as needed
  • make additional copies for each child and repeat the above steps

I’d love to hear how you help your children manage their lessons and become independent planners.

The Homeschool Daily is where I post slideshows, activities, tips, and ideas!  I hope you find encouragement and teaching resources while you are here! Look around and stay awhile!

Homeschool Checklist Printable

Homeschooling is an incredibly rewarding experience, but it can also be challenging. One of the most critical components of a successful homeschooling journey is organization.

Before starting your lessons, it’s essential to have a plan in place to help manage your time, energy, and resources.

First and foremost, you need to establish clear academic goals for your child. What areas and skills do you want them to focus on? What benchmarks do you want them to reach? Once you have a vision for their education, you can start breaking down your goals into smaller, more manageable tasks.

This is where the homeschool checklist printable comes in handy! You can quickly jot down the daily activities, lessons, and assignments for each subject and track your child’s progress as they move through the material.

Older children can keep track of their own work and mark them as done as they complete their day’s work.

Homeschoolers in Pennsylvania are required to maintain “… a log, made contemporaneously with the instruction, which designates by title the reading materials used …” (Act 169, The Pennsylvania Homeschooling Law)

Because the wording of Act 169 is somewhat vague, the interpretations of this statement are many and varied. Some families choose to simply keep a list of any reading materials used; others turn in a detailed log that includes the pages and topics covered each day.

I personally take a middle-of-the-road approach to the homeschool log, listing the title of all reading materials used and simply checking off the days we use each book. In addition, I choose to list a few general categories such as art, music, and physical education, primarily to keep myself accountable.

I designed this editable daily checklist log to meet my own needs, but now I’d like to share it with you! Even if you aren’t in Pennsylvania, you may need to record similar information to fulfil your state’s requirements. And if you are fortunate enough to have no outside requirements, you may enjoy using this checklist log as a straight-forward summary of what you have covered in a year’s time.

This Editable Daily Checklist Log is an Excel file covering thirty-six weeks in six pages. It also contains a data entry sheet where the title, name, and subjects can easily be customized. And it’s a FREE download!

Hi, Emily! If you look along the bottom of the spreadsheet, there is a separate tab called “Data” or something like that. You can enter the info there, and it will automatically fill in the information in the printable sheet. Hope that helps!

assignment sheet for students - a free editable printable from Homeschool Creations to track daily work and goals_edited-1

One thing that we have been focusing on with our middle school boy is a little more independence in his school work. One big help for him has been a new assignment sheet for him (or me) to record the assignments for each subject and day of the week.

Translated, that means he needs a hands-on look at what he is expected to accomplish that week and a handy way to check off his assignments as he progresses without mom constantly hovering over him to make sure everything is done. In short, taking responsibility for his schoolwork and owning up when it isn’t done. (cough) But I’m sure that is only my child, right?

While I realize that a piece of paper doesn’t actually GET the schoolwork done, this has been a good help because he can see page numbers down to how many chapters of a book he is expected to read. At the end of each day (or week depending on his focus), we review what was accomplished and make adjustments as needed for the following days.

And if you are looking for some colorful (and erasable pens) – grab a pack of these (aff link). They are my FAVORITE and well loved in our house!

assignment sheet for students from Homeschool Creations

Each sheet has room to track 11 subjects for five days as well as a space for recording personal goals for the week. Along the top of each sheet there is space to record the week’s date as well.

There are also two clip art styles to choose from – one using rainbow washi tape or a fun rainbow sneaker design. Download one or both, editable or non-editable – your choice!

These print off four to a page if you choose to print double sided (two half-sized on each side). For those of you that would like to save a little time, there is also an editable version for the subject area. When the file is opened, simply type the subject area names in the blue squares and then print.

Fill them out with your new favorite pens (aff link) – and you are ready to go!

Hi. Just wondering if you could tell me how you use the assignment sheet. I love the idea but I want to make sure I use it correctly =)

May 14, 2014 at 12:23 am

Just fill in the subjects in the left hand column and then the assignments under each day. The 2 little boxes in each assignment space are for the you and the child to check off when the work is complete. The child checks off one when they finish their work and you check the other one after you check his/her work. I hope that clarifies it for you.

Simple Homeschool Checklist

April 12, 2020 by Kami 2 Comments

During the quarantine, homeschooling my 4 year old while working from home and watching a 19 month old has its challenges. Although homeschooling got easier once we got our simple homeschool checklist put together and part of our routine.

simple homeschool checklist, easy homeschool routine, daily homeschool checklist schedule

Homeschooling Is Hard

With Covid-19 who knows how long we will be in quarantine and homeschooling our children. I am thankful my child attends a school that provides lots of resources, staff that check in regularly, and teachers that provide options to make this as easy as possible on us parents.

However, this doesn’t mean that homeschooling is easy and routine. There is a reason why millions of parents send their kids to school. Being a homeschool teacher on top of working, parenting, and running a household is hard and requires excellent time management . Juggling different hats and multiple kids in this scary, unknown time is unprecedented. We all have to do our best, take it day by day, and give each other grace during this time.

How the Simple Homeschool Checklist Works

Our simple homeschool checklist has 10 items on it. My son is able to follow and understand what he needs to do each day. Now that we follow the checklist routine, I don’t have to explain what to do each day. Once he is set up he can take the lead. With our checklist routine he throws less tantrums and tasks do not take as long. It has been much smoother than it first was while homeschooling.

The Goal of the Simple Homeschool Checklist

The goal each day is to complete all 10 checklist items. If/when he does complete everything we play a game of his choice or do a fun activity together.

In addition, young kids enjoy checking things off a list, drawing a smiley face in the box, or putting a sticker on a chart as a small reward when they complete things. So this is part of the point of the checklist as well.

Furthermore, they can gauge where they’re at in their day. If they have 10 items to complete and at 1pm they only have 3 things done, they can see they have a lot to do yet that day.

Tracking Behavior

For behavior, we use the color system at home (as they do at his school). We use green (good day), yellow (ok – check yourself), and red (not good – poor choices were made). If he is on green for the day he gets a piece of candy. Then, if he is on green all 5 days in one week, he gets to pick out a big candy, or receives a bigger treat on Friday evening.

The simple homeschool checklist can work for older children too. It will keep them organized and on schedule for what they need to complete each day. Simply fill in their tasks accordingly and come up with age appropriate incentives.

Parts of the Simple Homeschool Checklist

Morning routine.

Start the simple homeschool checklist by including your child’s typical morning . Doing the same things each morning helps a child get into routine and get started the for the day. For it is comfortable doing the same things each morning, which helps a child be prepared to learn new things.

For example, at my house my 4 year old’s morning routine includes the following:

  • Using the restroom
  • Getting dressed
  • Brushing teeth
  • Taking a vitamin
  • Making his bed
  • Combing his hair
  • Eating breakfast
  • Bathing 3 days a week

For more on what should be in a morning routine or how to improve your morning routine click here .

Next, organize your school day with what works best in your schedule with work and works best for the kids. At our house we try to do all or most of our checklist and school work in the morning. To help limit distractions in the morning we do not turn the tv on. The tv first gets turned on during rest time.

Each day we do a variety of activities. Academically we focus on reading and math. We also make sure to stay active and get some outside time in. Thank goodness this quarantine did not happen in January when it would be difficult to get outside with the cold and the snow.

With a 4 year old who is not seeing anyone, not going to school and whose normal routine has been turned upside down, I have a variety of things for him to do to avoid boredom. This is not on the checklist, but I try something new with him almost each day. This gives him a new experience and helps him from becoming mischievous. It could range from trying a new recipe in the kitchen to making up and playing a new game. Something that gives him a new spark and fresh taste each day. I can tell when he really likes an activity because he will ask to do it each day. For fun new kid activities to do at home click here.

Daily Chore

At my house I am taking this unusual quarantine opportunity and extra time together to teach my son different household chores and life lessons. He is still too young for most chores, but there is plenty he can learn. We are going over the following: how to clean and what needs to be cleaned, helping prepare for a meal and cleaning up after the meal, how to take care of our things, money lessons, and how to do different things around the house. These are important skills that kids need to learn.

Homeschooling Resources

I by no means am a homeschooling expert. There is much information out there on homeschooling and resources if you are looking for something specific. All I know is to make homeschooling work for an extended period of time we needed to follow a simple homeschooling checklist and keep a daily routine.

Luckily we live in the day and age where online learning is typical and has some options. Many companies and providers that normally charge a fee are providing free services right now during the quarantine. Most internet providers are offering free internet service as well if you do not already have it. Click here for more free educational resources for kids stuck at home.

Final Thoughts on Simple Homeschool Checklist
