किसी भी योजना का निर्माण बहुत सोच समझ कर किया जाता है। यही बात Business Plan बनाते समय भी लागू होती है। कोई भी व्यवसाय शुरू करने से पहले उसकी योजना Business Plan के रूप में तैयार की जाती है। इसलिए एक अच्छे Business Plan को बनाने से पहले कुछ बातों का ध्यान रखा जाता है। इनमें प्रमुख हैं :

  • इस Business Plan को बनाने का Core Objective क्या है ?
  • Business Plan को किन लोगों के लिए बनाया जा रहा है । अथार्थ इसे पढ़ने वाले लोगों में Investors या Bankers हैं जिनका धन व्यवसाय में Invest हुआ है ?
  • आपके Business Plan में क्या-क्या शामिल है?

बिजनेस प्लान मुख्यतः दो प्रकार के होते हैं। पहला प्रकार है Simple Business Plan जिसे वन पेज बिजनेस प्लान भी कहा जाता है और दूसरा प्रकार है Traditional Business Plan

यह बिजनेस प्लान Long होता है और बहुत detail में लिखा जाता है 

ये बिजनेस प्लान कभी-कभी 30 से 40 Pages का भी हो सकता है। यह बिजनेस प्लान आने वाले कई वर्षों तक आपका मार्गदर्शन करता है क्योंकि इसमें सभी जानकारी बहुत Detail में लिखी जाती है।

बिजनेस को Loan देने से पहले या बिजनेस में Invest करने से पहले बैंक और Investor इसी बिजनेस प्लान को देखते हैं।

1. Executive Summary

यह आपके बिजनेस प्लान का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है और आपको यह सेक्शन बिजनेस प्लान के अंत में लिखना होता है क्योंकि ये वो सेक्शन है जहां आप अपने संपूर्ण बिजनेस प्लान की Summary लिखनी होती है। 

जिस तरह आप अपने Product को Sell करते समय उसकी Advertise करते हैं उसी तरह से यह Executive Summary आपको लिखनी है।

यह समरी पढ़ने वालों को आपके बिजनेस में Interest उत्पन्न होना चाहिए और उस व्यक्ति के  अंदर ये संपूर्ण बिजनेस प्लान पढ़ने की इच्छा निर्माण होनी चाहिए। 

आप जो बिजनेस कर रहे हैं या करना चाहते हैं उसमें क्या Opportunity है ? कौन सा Problem है ? और उसे आप किस तरह Solve करने वाले हैं ? इसकी आपको Short में जानकारी देनी है। 

साथ ही अगर आप Bank से Loan प्राप्त करना चाहते हैं तो वह कितना चाहिए और किस लिए चाहिए इसकी जानकारी भी आपको यहां देनी है।

2. Company Description

इस Section में आपको अपनी कंपनी की या व्यवसाय की जानकारी देनी है। आप नीचे दिए गए Points के अनुसार जानकारी लिख सकते हैं।

  • आपके कंपनी का नाम क्या है ?
  • आपके कंपनी का या व्यवसाय का प्रकार क्या है ? – यदि आप कंपनी के प्रकार जानना चाहते हैं तो Types of Company In Hindi इस पोस्ट को पढ़े।
  • आपका बिजनेस मॉडल क्या है ?
  • आपका बिजनेस कैसे काम करता है ?
  • आपके कंपनी का इतिहास क्या है ? – जैसे कि आपकी कंपनी कब शुरू हुई थी ? कंपनी ने इससे पहले क्या किया है ?
  • कंपनी का Goal या Mission Statement क्या है ? – यह आपको एक सेंटेंस में बताना है
  • व्यवसाय का Location क्या है ? और यह व्यवसाय किस Area ( क्षेत्र ) में काम करता है ?

3. Products & Services 

इस सेक्शन में आप कौन से Products और Services देने वाले हैं ? या दे रहे है उसकी जानकारी देनी है। यह जानकारी देते समय आपको अपने कस्टमर के दृष्टिकोण से सोचने की आवश्यकता है।

  • आपका Products क्या है ?
  • वह कौन सा Problem Solve कर रहा है ?
  • किस तरह से Solve करेगा या कर रहा है ?  

यह आपको बताना है।

इसी के साथ आपके Product की Price क्या है ? यह भी आपको बताना है। 

आपका Pricing Model क्या है ? और आपका Profit Margin क्या है ? यह भी बताना है

आप खुद प्रोडक्ट को Manufacture करते हैं या किसी कार के द्वारा Manufacture कराते हैं यह आपको बताना है।

4. Marketing plan ( मार्केटिंग प्लान )

किसी भी बिजनेस में सफल होने के लिए सबसे जरूरी चीज होती है मार्केटिंग और इसलिए आपको अपने बिजनेस के मार्केटिंग की प्लानिंग करना बहुत जरूरी है।

आपके मार्केटिंग के प्लान में नीचे दिए गए Points होना जरूरी है।

Market Research – बिजनेस शुरू करने से पहले आपको अपने मार्केट का रिसर्च करना आवश्यक होता है।

आप जो Product मार्केट में बेच रहे हैं उसका मार्केट कितना बड़ा है ? उस मार्केट में कितनी कंपटीशन है ? उस मार्केट का भविष्य कैसा है ?  यह सभी जानकारी और उससे संबंधित आंकड़े आपको यह देने हैं। 

आप यह आंकड़े ऑनलाइन Google से भी प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। लेकिन कुछ चीजों का आपको स्वयं रिसर्च करना होगा।

Target Customer – आपको आपके टारगेट कस्टमर कौन है यह पता होना अत्यंत जरूरी होता है।  बहुत से लोगों को उनके Target Customer कौन है यह पता नहीं होता।  यदि आप उनसे पूछते हैं कि आपके टारगेट कस्टमर कौन हैं तो वह आपको बताएंगे की – हर कोई। 

हर कोई इंसान आप का टारगेट कस्टमर कभी नहीं होता।  उदाहरण के लिए यदि आप महिलाओं के कपड़े बेच रहे हैं तो आपके टारगेट कस्टमर है – महिलाएं

आपके जो कोई टारगेट कस्टमर है उनकी सभी जानकारी आपके पास होनी आवश्यक होती है जैसे कि

  • Marital status
  • Income Source
  • Buying Habits

Competitive Analysis –

बिजनेस करते समय आपके पास अपने स्पर्धकों की संपूर्ण जानकारी होनी आवश्यक है जैसे कि

  • आपके स्पर्धक ( Competitor ) कौन है ?
  • उनकी Strength क्या है ?
  • उनकी Weakness क्या है? 
  • उनके Product की Price क्या है ? 
  • उनकी मार्केटिंग Strategy क्या है ?
  • आपके और उनके बिज़नेस में क्या अंतर है ? 
  • आपके और उनके Product में क्या समानताएं हैं और क्या भिन्नताएं हैं ?
  • उनकी Team कैसी है ?
  • उनके Customer Reviews कैसे हैं ?

Competitive Advantage – लगभग हर बिजनेस में Competition होती है और अगर आप अपने Competition को हराना चाहते हैं तो आपके पास Competitive Advantage होना चाहिए।

तो फिर आपके पास कौन सा Competitive Advantage है ? यह आपको बताना है। आपका कस्टमर आपके Competition की बजाए, आपके पास क्यों आए ? यह आपको Explain करना है।

Positioning – इस बिजनेस में आप वास्तव में किस क्षेत्र में काम करने जा रहे हैं ?, आपकी पहचान क्या होगी ?, आप की Positioning क्या होगी ?

चलो इसे थोड़ा और समझते है – 

Business में आप सब कुछ नहीं कर सकते। आपको केवल किसी एक क्षेत्र में Expert  होने की आवश्यकता होती है

जैसे कि अगर आप किसी Health की समस्या को हल करने जा रहे हैं तो आप की Positioning एक Health Brand ऐसी होगी

यदि आपका Product केवल महिलाओं के लिए है तो आपकी Positioning उसी तरह से होगी। लोग आपको उसी के लिए जानेंगे। 

आपके Business की किस में में Expertise है ? या फिर लोग आपको किस क्षेत्र का Expert या Specialist माने ?

Method of Marketing  – आप अपने Product या Services की मार्केटिंग किस तरह करने वाले हैं ? इसकी जानकारी आपको यहां पर देनी है जैसे कि

बिजनेस करते समय मार्केटिंग के लिए एक अलग बजट निर्धारित करना बहुत जरूरी होता है और इसलिए आपको यहां पर आपके मार्केटिंग का बजट क्या है यह बताना है।

5. Operational Plan

यहां पर आपको आपके बिज़नेस के Operations के प्लानिंग की जानकारी देनी है।

Staffing – आपको किस तरह के श्रमिकों की और Employees की आवश्यकता है ? कितने श्रमिकों की या Employees की आवश्यकता है ? आप उन्हें किस प्रकार का प्रशिक्षण देंगे ? उन्हें कितना पेमेंट देंगे ? इसकी जानकारी आपको यहां पर देनी है। 

Production – अगर आप Manufacturing कर रहे हैं तो आपके Production की Process क्या है ? उसके लिए आपको कौन से मशीनरी की आवश्यकता है और कौन से अन्य चीजों की आवश्यकता है ? उसकी जानकारी आपको यहां पर देनी है

Location – यदि आपको आपके बिजनेस के लिए Physical Location की आवश्यकता है तो उसकी जानकारी आपको यहां पर देनी है जैसे कि उसका किराया कितना होगा ? उसकी Maintenance Cost कितनी होगी ?

Legal Environment – आपके बिजनेस के लिए आपको कौन से लाइसेंस ,ट्रेडमार्क, कॉपीराइट Insurance की आवश्यकता होगी ? इसकी जानकारी आपको यहां पर देनी है

Raw Material & Inventory – इस बिजनेस के लिए अगर आपको Raw Material या Inventory की जरूरत है तो यहां पर उसकी जानकारी आपको देनी है। 

Suppliers & Vendors – यदि आप अपने बिजनेस के लिए कोई Suppliers और Vendors ( विक्रेता ) का उपयोग करते हैं तो उसका विवरण आपको यहां देना है। 

Payment Terms -आप कस्टमर से पेमेंट किस तरह लेते हैं ? उसकी जानकारी आपको यहां पर देनी है जैसे कि अगर आप उधारी पर प्रोडक्ट्स देते हैं तो उसकी जानकारी देनी है और फिर उस उधारी को किस तरह वसूला जाता है उसकी भी जानकारी यहां पर देनी है।

6. Management Team

यहां आपको आपके टीम की जानकारी देनी है।  एक मजबूत और अच्छी टीम के बिना आप किसी भी बिजनेस में आगे नहीं बढ़ सकते। 

  • आपके टीम के सदस्य कौन हैं ?
  • उनका नाम क्या है ?
  • वह किस में Expert है ?
  • उनके Resumes की Summary आपको यहां पर देनी है।

7. Budget & Expenses

यहां पर आपको आपके बजट और खर्चों के बारे में जानकारी देनी है जैसे कि व्यवसाय शुरू करने के लिए आपको कितना पैसा लगा या लगने वाला है ?

व्यवसाय शुरू करते समय हम जितना सोचते हैं उससे अधिक पैसों की जरूरत होती है इसलिए आपको इन Extra Funds को भी पहले से ही ध्यान में रखना चाहिए

Business शुरू शुरू करते समय आपको दो प्रकार के Expenses ध्यान में रखने हैं सबसे पहला है Capital Expenses और दूसरा है Operating Expenses

आप जब शुरुआत में एक बिजनेस शुरू करते हो तो उसके लिए जो Upfront लागत की आवश्यकता होती है उसे Capital Expenses कहा जाता है जैसे कि मशीनरी खरीदना, जगह खरीदना, फर्नीचर खरीदना

वैसे ही किसी बिजनेस को Operte करने के लिए जो पैसा लगता है उसे Operating Expenses कहा जाता है जैसे कि Day-To-Day Transaction, दुकान का किराया, लाइट बिल, Workers की पेमेंट

इन दोनों खर्चों को आपको यहां पर बताना है।

साथ ही में यदि किसी ने आपके बिजनेस में पहले से Invest ( निवेश ) किया है तो उसकी भी जानकारी आपको यहां देनी है। 

यदि आपने किसी बैंक से Loan लिया है तो उस के भी Dtails आपको यहां पर देने हैं।

साथ में आपके बिजनेस के जितने भी Owners ( मालिक )  है उन सभी की कितनी Assets ( संपत्ति ) है और कितनी Liabilities ( देयता ) है यह आपको बताना है।

अगर आप बैंक में Loan के लिए आवेदन कर रहे हैं तो आपको उसके भी Details यहां पर देने हैं जैसे कि आपको कितना लोन चाहिए ? किस लिए चाहिए ?

8. Financial Plan

यहां आपको अपनी Financial Planning की जानकारी देनी है। Financial Planning में नीचे दिए गए तीन Points की जानकारी आपको देनी चाहिए। 

Cash Flow Statement – Financial Planning का यह एक महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है। यहां आपको जानकारी देनी है कि आपके बिजनेस में कितनी Cash आती है और कितनी Cash बाहर जाती है।

अगर आपके पास Cash Flow Statement नहीं है तो आप आपके बिजनेस में कितनी कैश आएगी और जाएगी इसका अनुमान ( Projection ) दे सकते हैं।

Profit & Loss Projection – यहां पर आपको आपके बिजनेस के Profit और Loss की जानकारी देनी है।

भविष्य में आपके बिजनेस से कितना Profit होगा और कहां से होगा ? इसकी जानकारी आपको यहां देनी है।

Balance Sheet Projection – यहां आपको अपने बिजनेस की Assets और Liability के बारे में जानकारी देनी है

Assets जैसे की जमीन, मशीनरी, रियल एस्टेट, फर्नीचर

Liability जैसे कि बैंक लोन, बिल की पेमेंट

आप कितना Revenue Expect कर रहे हैं ?

आप कितनी Expenses Expect कर रहे हैं ?

9. Sales Plan

यहां आपको आपकी पिछली और अभी की Sales कितनी है ? या फिर भविष्य में आप कितनी Sales Expect कर रहे हैं ? और वह Sale कहां से आएगी ? इसकी जानकारी देनी है।

An income statement is more commonly called a Profit and Loss statement or P&L. It shows your revenues and then subtracts your costs to show whether you turned a profit or not.

In developing your income statement, you need to devise assumptions. For example, will you restock your inventory once per week or twice per month? And will sales grow by 2% or 10% per year? As you can imagine, your choice of assumptions will greatly impact the financial forecasts for your business. As much as possible, conduct research to try to root your assumptions in reality.

Balance Sheets

Balance sheets show your assets and liabilities. While balance sheets can include much information, try to simplify them to the key items you need to know about. For instance, if you spend $50,000 on building out your sandwich shop business, this will not give you immediate profits. Rather it is an asset that will hopefully help you generate profits for years to come. Likewise, if a bank writes you a check for $50,000, you don’t need to pay it back immediately. Rather, that is a liability you will pay back over time.

Cash Flow Statement

Your cash flow statement will help determine how much money you need to start or grow your business, and make sure you never run out of money. What most entrepreneurs and business owners don’t realize is that you can turn a profit but run out of money and go bankrupt.

In developing your Income Statement and Balance Sheets be sure to include several of the key costs needed in starting or growing a sandwich shop business:

The students are looking for food vendors for two main reasons, the first is the desire to get off campus, the second is to have an alternative to the on-campus food service. Towners This group is the people that live and work in Washington, primarily in the downtown area.

  • Ages 24-55;
  • The average individual income is $38,000;
  • 55% of the people have at least some undergraduate schooling;
  • 44% of the people work within a seven minute walk from the downtown area;
  • 76% of the group go out for lunch one to two times a week.

4.2 Target Market Segment Strategy

The two different market segments that Pita Pal will be going after are distinct enough that there will be two different marketing campaigns, one for each group. This is necessary because the two groups respond to different forms of communication. Students spend the majority of their day on campus, but typically venture off campus during the day for lunch. The marketing effort to reach the students will be based on their forms of written media, The General, student newspaper.

The towners can be reached through different sources of communication. These are people who work downtown and tend to patronize the other downtown businesses. These people are more in tune with the different business organizations that exist downtown. Pita Pal will attempt to communicate with this group via the local newspaper.

4.3 Service Business Analysis

Pita Pal exists within the general restaurant industry. There are many different categories within the restaurant industry. Pita Pal fits within two different niches within the industry, fast food and fast casual. Their offerings are similar to fast food in that orders are placed at the counter and served within a few minutes, and the menu is somewhat limited in selection. It is also similar to fast casual where the clientele tends to spend more time at a table relative to a fast food restaurant. The food is more expensive than a normal fast food restaurant and there is a larger product offering.

For the restaurant industry, it is normal for a venture to reach profitability by year two. If they reach it any earlier it is likely that they are cutting corners and that profit is unlikely to be sustainable. If it takes more than two years than it is quite questionable whether they will ever reach profitability.

4.3.1 Competition and Buying Patterns

Pita Pal’s competition exists in many forms:

  • Fast food: This takes the form of the traditional restaurants such as McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s, as well as healthier alternatives such as Subway.
  • Pizza: The predominant pizza place for sit down food is Brothers pizza, owned by two brothers who are professors at the college. This place is more popular with locals than with college students based primarily on the fact that the professor owners are not very well liked as professors so many students avoid the place.
  • Deli: There are two different delis located downtown that serve deli style sandwiches. These delis serve very basic, standard deli fare, generally sliced deli meats.
  • Diners: Based on the aging demographic of Washington, a function of its steel industry roots, there are several diners located in Washington, one of them downtown. These are very traditional diners, the menus are right out of the 1950’s.
  • On-campus food service: At least for the students, this is an alternative in terms of food offerings. Most of the students have a food plan. Because of the poor food offerings and the need for variety, many of the students are looking for other alternatives regardless of the fact that their food is already paid for via the plan.

Strategy and Implementation Summary

Pita Pal’s business strategy will be to emphasize its healthy, custom food alternatives. Most of the competitors cannot compete with Pita Pal’s healthy menu. Most places uses a lot of fried foods, compromising the nutritional value of their food. Additionally, no one offers the same flexibility or ability to customize the product offerings. This competitive edge will also be stressed in the marketing campaign.

As mentioned earlier, Pita Pal’s marketing strategy will be distinct for each of the two market segments that it is seeking to attract.

The sales effort will be based on obtaining 100% satisfaction. Pita Pal will work hard to ensure that every customer has a wonderful experience at Pita Pal. Almost anything will be done to ensure any problems that arise are corrected.

5.1 Competitive Edge

Pita Pal has two competitive edges that will help it succeed in its business. The first edge is its healthy menu. Pita Pal takes pride in the fact that the only thing fried on the menu is falafel. Everything else is oil free, or at least free of any oils other than olive oil. In addition to the absence of oil based fats, much of its offered ingredients are vegetables, ensuring a healthy meal.

The other competitive edge that Pita Pal will leverage is customization. Customers are offered a laundry list of ingredients that they get to choose from. It is Pita Pal’s goal to serve the customer in whatever capacity is needed. This takes the form of its competitive edge where it will build the patrons pita pocket any way that they want.

Pita Pal will employ a two pronged marketing strategy in an attempt to reach potential customers within the two market segments. To reach the students, Pita Pal must use resources that are successful in reaching the students. Recognizing that the students spend the majority of their time on campus, Pita Pal will rely on print advertisements and coupons within the student publications. The print advertisements will serve to draw notice to Pita Pal, increasing the student’s awareness about this new restaurant alternative. Pita Pal will emphasize its menu as a tasty, healthy alternative to the campus meal plan as well as other local food vendors. Pita Pal will also use coupons as a way drawing in students. Coupons are quite effective for students, most of them are on a fixed budget and jump at the chance to save money by using a coupon.

Print advertising will be used for the towners, however, Pita Pal will choose a different media source to reach these people. As previously mentioned, Pita Pal will emphasize its 100% customer satisfaction to win over customers. The fact that it advertises 100% satisfaction is far less significant relative to its actions that ensure total satisfaction. This effort is based on the philosophy that it is far cheaper to maintain a current customer than it is to attract a new customer. Additionally, it is far easier and cheaper to remedy any problems with a customer as it occurs instead of dealing with an unhappy customer. With this in mind, the organization has the firm belief that if all customers leave the store happy, there will be a significant increase in sales in the long term, directly correlated with the fact that customers are being properly taken care of.

This sales philosophy is a way of treating customers. While the service offered customers is quite important, there is a need to have a quality product, otherwise the service aspect is in vain in the long term because the customers are treated well but do not perceive value in the food that they are buying. That being said, Pita Pal must offer fresh, healthy, quality food in order to fully support its customer-centered service. The menu has been devised in order to offer a wide selection with menu items that are easy to prepare, remain fresh, and are cost effective to serve.   • Business plan completion. The final version will be accomplished with in the first two months.
  • $50,000 in revenue. A date of expectancy has been established and it will be useful to gauge performance on whether the revenue is realized on schedule.
  • Profitability. Very important, it is forecasted to occur within two years.

Steve Jones is the driving force behind Pita Pal. Steve has lived in Washington, PA for the last four years while studying for his Bachelor of Arts from Washington and Jefferson College. Steve’s introduction to the restaurant industry came at the early age of 14 when he worked in his family’s restaurant in Cleveland.

While pursuing his degree Steve was a server at a fine dining restaurant called Angelo’s, where he received more insight into the restaurant industry. He enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Program which combined coursework with speakers and empirical experience. For lucky few, it also provided them with a low interest loan which if the business fails does not personally obligate the borrower to repay.

While Steve became more and more active in this program, he began to realize that he would not be truly happy unless he was operating his own business. He also realized that he would be most effective if he worked within the restaurant industry due to all of his experience as well as the wealth of contacts that he had access to because of his parent’s business. With this in mind, at the end of the last semester of his last year, Steve applied for the a loan through the Entrepreneurship Program and was pleasantly surprised that he won. Steve has written a business plan in response to the application requirements for the loans, however by the time the loan was awarded, many months had passed and Steve felt the need to rewrite the plan before beginning the business. He undertook this task and the business has begun.

6.1 Personnel Plan

Steve will be the main employee of Pita Pal. For the first two months of operation, Steve will be the sole employee. During this period he will oversee the finishing touches on the retail space, will develop the product recipes, and will establish vendor relationships. Month three will mark the first month of sales. Steve will have at least two employees present during open hours. Steve will also have one employee working 1.5 hours before opening to help with food prep and both employees for .5-1 hour after closing. As business ramps, Steve will employ additional employees to help out with food prep, front restaurant help, as well as back kitchen activities such as dishes and clean up.
