This presentation follows the mastery approach of concrete, pictorial and abstract, whilst implementing all aspects of Rosenshine’s principles of instruction.

Year 2 Compare Mass
This Year 2 Compare Mass lesson covers the prior learning of weight and mass, before moving onto the main skill of comparing the mass of objects using balance scales.
The lesson starts with a prior learning worksheet to check pupils’ understanding. The interactive lesson slides recap the prior learning before moving on to the main skill. Children can then practise further by completing the activities and can extend their learning by completing an engaging extension task.
