About DAVV DET 2023

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Doctoral Entrance Test (DAVV DET) is a university-level entrance test conducted by Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya for admission into the doctoral programme offered by the university.

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, previously known as Indore University is a State University of Madhya Pradesh, established in 1964 in Indore. Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya was ranked in the 151–200 band among universities by the 2018 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

DET DAVV is the University level Entrance Test for doctoral programmes, conducted once a year. From 2018, DAVV has separated the M.Phil. Entrance Exam from DET exam. Thus, now DAVV Doctoral Entrance Test is only for seeking admission to Doctor of Philosophy and not for both M.Phil. and Ph.D.

DAVV DET 2023 Important Dates

The candidate's application might be rejected at any time during the process of admission if the candidate is found to be ineligible for the examination. Before appearing for any exam, candidates need to be well versed in eligibility criteria scenarios such that any important events related to eligibility criteria should not be missed out in any circumstances. Applicants must go through the DAVV DET Eligibility Criteria 2023 Criteria before filling out the application form.

• Education: A candidate for the degree of Ph.D. must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned or allied subject with at least 55% Marks [50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Differently-Abled] from a deemed university or other university incorporated by the law and recognized by the University.
• Final Year Students: The candidates appearing in the final semester/year examination may also apply but they have to submit their final result as per the above-mentioned percentage before submission of the application for registration for Ph.D.
• Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to apply for DAVV DET 2023.
• Domicile: To apply for a course under the Domicile quota, you should submit the Madhya Pradesh state Domicile Certificate along with the relevant category certificate from a competent authority.
• You should note that the seats reserved for SC/ST/OBC category will only be offered to the SC/ST/OBC candidates of the Madhya Pradesh domicile. SC/ ST/OBC/other reserved categories candidates from other states will be treated as the unreserved category.

Candidates can opt for Ph.D. in 43 subjects at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV).

They will be permitted to work for a Ph.D. degree in the subject in which they have obtained their Master’s degree. However, research work leading to a Ph.D. degree in an allied subject of interdisciplinary nature of the same faculty or of allied faculties may be allowed. In such instances, candidates will be permitted to work under one or two co-supervisors along with the supervisor.

ID Proof: Along with DAVV DET Admit Card 2023, candidates must carry any one of the government issued ID proofs such as Passport, Voter Id, Aadhar Card, Driving License, or Pan Card.

Instructions: Candidates are advised to read the instructions given on the admit card carefully, and follow them during the conduct of the examination.

Mode: DAVV DET 2023 will be conducted Offline, as a Paper and Pen-Based Test (PBT).

Question Type: The question paper will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).

No. of Questions & Marks: DAVV DET 2023 question paper will consist of 4 parts, 25 questions in each section, with a total of 100 marks.

Duration: The time to complete the examination will be 2 hours or 120 minutes.

Marking Scheme: One mark will be awarded for every correct answer and no negative marking.

Medium: The question paper will be in English.

For the applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC, the qualifying mark is 45 out of 100 and for general category students, the qualifying mark is 50.

DAVV DET 2023 model answer key will be released by DAVV Indore on the official website soon after the exam. The candidate who appears in the exam can challenge the model answer key by paying INR 500 for each answer till the stipulated date. Candidates who oppose the model answer keys must prove the argument by submitting supporting documents. 

How to Challenge DAVV DET Model Keys?

Candidates who are not satisfied with the DAVV CET evaluation may request a re-evaluation by following the below steps:

• Submit an application request to the Chairperson-CET.
• Candidates must pay Rs. 500 for each answer key challenge.
• The NTA will check it before releasing the final answer key and the DAVV CET 2023 result.
• However, if the candidate's objection is valid, the fee will be returned.
• If the expressed complaint is deemed to be incorrect, no refund will be issued.

DAVV DET 2023 final results will be declared on the official website, based on qualified marks.

Cut Off: There is no specific cut off for DAVV DET 2023, but the candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks in the exam to qualify for the interview.

Candidates who qualify for the DAVV DET 2023 will be called for the next round of the selection process - an interview after the results are announced. The date of the interview will be released on the official website along with the qualified students' names and roll numbers.

Interview Methodology: The interview for DAVV Ph.D admission 2023 will be conducted by the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of the concerned subject. At the interview, candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a RAC.

The evaluation in DAVV DET 2023 interview will be based on 100 marks and it is given on the following criteria, each of 25 marks:

• Research plan,
• Research potential/ aptitude,
• Communication skills,
• Subject knowledge in the respective area of research.

Documents : The documents which are compulsory to be carried to DAVV DET Counselling 2023 are as follows:

• No Objection Letter from the proposed Supervisor and Co-supervisor (if applicable) duly forwarded from the Head of the research centre/centres.
• The original Mark sheet and its self-attested copy of the Class 10,12, Graduation, and Postgraduation.
• Original and self-attested SC/ ST/ OBC /MP domicile certificate copy.

RAC shall decide the cut off marks in the interview. On the basis of the marks obtained out of 100 marks in the interview and the decided cut off marks, Ph.D. merit list will be prepared and will be released on the official website.

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya PhD Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

• 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
• Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.
• M.Phil. Programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed in all above-mentioned cases for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time.
• The applicants appearing in the final semester / year examination may also apply but they have to submit their final result before appearing in interview by RAC (Research Advisory Committee).
• There is no age limit for admission in Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programmes.

Exemption from appearing in the Entrance Examination of DAVV DET-2023

• Students who have fellowship/scholarship through UGC-NET/ UGC-CSIR NET and other similar national level tests in relevant subject shall be exempted from the entrance test but they have to appear in the interview.
• The foreign students shall also be exempted from the entrance test but they also have to appear in the interview.
• It is mandatory for all candidates (including the candidates who are exempted from Entrance Examination) to fill the online application form by due date.

• The application fee (Non-refundable) is Rs. 1,500. In addition to application fee, Rs. 50/- will be charged extra as Online service charges.
• Applicants can pay fee online through MP-online authorized KIOSK in MP or through any ATM cum Debit card/Credit card or Net Banking from anywhere.

• Applicant must upload his/her recent coloured photograph at the given space of the online application form. No other documents are to be uploaded.
• The name of the applicants must be the same as given in the mark sheet/grade sheet of the 10th Class.
• The information given in the online application form will be verified with the original documents at the time of interview by RAC (…..). If it is found that an applicant has provided incorrect or false information or withheld some relevant information at the time of filling up the online application form, the applicant shall be debarred from admission or admission can be cancelled at any stage during the course of study without giving prior notice.

Selection Process

Ph.D. Entrance test (DAVV DET-2023) comprises of two parts (i) Entrance Examination (ii) Interview by Research Advisory Committee (RAC).

All successful candidates in Entrance Examination shall have to appear for Interview. Candidates shall be Admitted to Ph.D. Programme only after approval of RAC.

Date and Time of Entrance Exam

• The Entrance Examination shall be conducted on 31st October, 2023.
• Timings of the Online Examination will be informed on Admit Card and also notifying on University web site.
• The duration of entrance examination shall be of Two hours.
• Examination will be conducted in Online Mode.
• Applicant is required to report in person for entrance examination and interview on given date and time.
• Non-appearance, for any reason, shall automatically disqualify the candidature for admission to Ph.D.
• Examination Center(s): Examination centers will be in Indore city only.

DAVV DET 2023 Exam Pattern

• The question paper of entrance examination shall have two parts: Part-A and Part B.
• Each part shall consist of 50 MCQs of 1 mark each.
• Part A: Research Methodology
• Part B: Related subjects at Masters Level
• Total – 100 Questions and 100 Marks
• There will be no negative marking
• The candidates must score minimum 50% marks [(45% for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layers/differently abled category] marks in the entrance exam to qualify for the interview. A list of the candidates eligible for interview will be notified on the university website
• All the applicants who have qualified the entrance examination (including those who were exempted from the entrance examination) shall have to appear in the interview for admission in Ph.D.

• The candidates must score minimum 50% marks [45% for SC/ST/OBC (NonCreamy layers) category] to qualify for the interview. This benefit of reservation will be offered to MP domicile applicants only

DAVV Indore PhD Admission 2022  – Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) Indore invites application for Doctoral Entrance Test 2022 for Admission to PhD Program offered in various subjects for the academic session 2022. 

Important Dates

Davv det 2022 eligibility criteria.

• An applicant for DAVVDET-2022, must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned or allied subject with at least 55% Marks [(50% for SC/ST/OBC/Differently-abled category and other categories as per the decision of the UGC from time to time or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991] from a university, a deemed university or other university incorporated by any law for the time being in force and recognized by DAVV
• Applicants appearing in the final semester / year exam may also apply but they have to submit their final result before submission of application for registration in PhD.
• Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layers)/EWS applicants is as per existing rules. This benefit of reservation will be offered to MP domicile applicants only.

Exemption from Appearing at Entrance Exam of DAVVDET 2022

• JRF awarded through UGC-NET or CSIR-NET;
• teacher fellowship for research awarded by UGC/AICTE;
• any other Government / Foreign research fellowship;
• M.Phil. degree (as per UGC Regulations 2009 or amended thereafter) with course work
• However, they have to appear for the interview. 
• It is mandatory for all candidates (including the candidates who are exempted from Entrance Examination) to fill the online application form by due date(s).

DAVV DET 2022 Exam Details

Ph.D. Entrance test (DAVVDET-2022) comprises of two parts

• Entrance Examination.
• Interview by Research Advisory Committee (RAC)

DAVV DET 2022 Application Process

• Interested applicants may apply through MP-online portal:  https://davv.mponline.gov.in.
• The application fee (Non-refundable) is Rs. 1,000/- (without late fee) upto 28.03.2022 and Rs. 2,000/- (with late fee) upto 04.04.2022. In addition to application fee, Rs. 50/- will be charged extra as Online service charges.
• Applicants can pay fees online through MP-online authorized KIOSK in MP or through any ATM cum Debit card/Credit card or Net Banking from anywhere.
• If your payment is deducted and receipt is not generated, pay the fee again, as the previous amount will be reverted automatically into your account. For more details on this issue you can call customer care number: 0731-2525825
• Applicant must upload his/her recent coloured photograph at the given space of the online application form. No other documents are to be uploaded.
• The name of the applicants must be the same as given in the mark sheet/grade sheet of the 10th Class.

DAVV DET 2022 Syllabus

Davv det 2022 exam pattern.

• The question paper of entrance examination shall have two parts: Part-A and Part B.
• Each part shall consist of 50 MCQs of 1 mark each.
• Part A: Research Methodology
• Part B: Related subjects at Masters Level
• Total – 100 Questions and 100 Marks
• There will be no negative marking
• The candidates must score minimum 50% marks [(45% for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layers/differently abled category] marks in the entrance exam to qualify for the interview. A list of the candidates eligible for interview will be notified on the university website
• All the applicants who have qualified the entrance examination (including those who were exempted from the entrance examination) shall have to appear in the interview for admission in Ph.D.
• The interview shall be conducted by the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of the concerned subject. The date of interview in each subject will be notified on the website of the University.

DAVV Admission Last Date

The planned date has been extended for the online registration. DAVV Admission last date for CUET -oriented oriented programs are stretched from 6th May to 22 May 2022 for ug programs like B.TECH, BA Hons Economics, BA LLB Hons, BSC, and more. One can complete DAVV registration for the ug program by using the online mode. The application fee for the General, and OBC categories is INR 650, and 600 respectively. In contrast, the SC/ST candidates can deposit INR 550 for the exam registration.

DAVV Admission Last Date 2022

DAVVDET 2022 PhD Entrance exam window has already been closed for the academic session 2022-23. Candidates who wish to enroll in the DAV Phd programs will need to wait till the next session. The registration window of DAVVDET remained open till 11 April 2022.

NON-CET Entries to various UG, PG Degree, Certificate, and Diploma Courses shall be open till 31 July 2022. The DAVV admission committee has passed a release related to the same on the official portal on 09 February 2022. However, the mentioned date of the Non-CET programs registration might get changed.
