Smith writes about why celebrating festivals is so enjoyable, particularly in his native Kuwait. The month is filled with festivities, special events, and prayer. Smith also describes New Year’s Eve in Kuwait: it is celebrated with fireworks, friends, and family as in other countries. Festivals connect us to our traditions and allow us to relax, have fun, and celebrate.

Ovesen recounts a Christmas experience in which her mother gave gifts to all the children but her, after which she never celebrated Christmas again. For decades, she did not celebrate Christmas; however, this year, she says, she will make up for all the missed celebrations. She does not want her mother’s mistreatment to control her happiness, so she chooses to celebrate life, family, and missed time. 

“One family even brought me a gift basket that literally brought tears to my eyes.  Another friend made me a gluten free cake which has now ruined my sons ever making me cake again; hers was too good!!!!  One gift that I always treasure is the phone call I receive each year from my brother; this year was no exception.  Finally, I was also able to hang with one friend in the morning and another friend in the evening.  Life is and was truly good!”

In her short essay, Gal-Or reflects on her birthday that year and what she has realized about life. She lists a few lessons she has learned, including the importance of having a voice, quality time, family, and friends. Her birthday celebration is simple; she only mentions meeting up with two friends, which makes her extremely happy. Gal-Or’s essay is an excellent example of how different people like to celebrate in different ways; some are content with the simplest celebrations.

“I’m thrilled that this year I have no obligation to visit. That finally, I have a legitimate excuse not to plaster on a fake smile, hold my tongue, and pretend that we all get along. This Christmas promises to be one of the merriest ever, knowing it’ll just be me, my wife, and the kids. Simpler times. No extravagance. No kowtowing. No begging and pleading in-laws to stay even though you want them to leave. No emotional regret for ruining yet another Christmas.”

Salsa remembers the Christmas celebrations before the COVID-19 pandemic and all the stress, squabbling, and discomfort that came with them. He recalls the chaos at previous Christmases with his in-laws and is relieved that the times keep them apart. Since the pandemic keeps the extended family from celebrating, he is relieved that their celebration will be relaxed, with just him, his wife, and the kids. 

5. ​​ The Importance of Family Traditions by Lisa Cossey

“No matter what your family tradition is or what your family chooses to create, just having something for all family members to look forward to each year is important. Traditions help create warm, positive memories that can be recalled fondly and draw family members back to one another year after year.”

Cossey’s essay simply describes how her family celebrates Thanksgiving and Christmas. However, they have several traditions, including camping trips, baking pies, and video calling other family members. These traditions strengthen familial bonds and create memories to cherish. Cossey also gives examples of other family traditions,  including movie nights, reading books, talent shows, and cooking. 

6. ​​ What is celebration? by Julian Baggini

“Perhaps on reflection, the best thing to do would be to curl up with a good book. The case is, as ever, inconclusive. But in a world where dogmatism is increasingly the greatest threat, perhaps the tentative nature of philosophical discourse is precisely what we should be celebrating, quietly.”

This essay about celebrating World Philosophy Day opens with a philosophical question. How exactly should such an eccentric occasion be celebrated? Baggini proposes having a philosophical discussion in a cafe, as many great philosophers once did, and a Greek-style party with philosophical exchanges. However, in typical philosophy fashion, the answer is inconclusive. Baggini suggests instead celebrating the “tentative nature of philosophical discourse.”

We all know the types of occasions that people celebrate, but why do people continue to celebrate? In your essay, look into the different reasons people celebrate, whether superstitious, cultural, sentimental, or entirely different. Don’t just give examples of occasions to celebrate; explain why people celebrate them. 

Think of an occasion such as a birthday, holiday, or religious festival and write about how people typically celebrate it- What do they eat? Who do they celebrate with? What are other traditions connected to it? You may include information from the internet, but your essay can be based entirely on your opinions and experiences. 

Some say that celebrating is a waste of money, particularly for occasions like Christmas, as it takes away the holiday’s true meaning. People spend so much on a celebration just to have a “superficial” understanding of the occasion. For an engaging argumentative essay, write about whether you think these sorts of celebrations are wasteful. Be sure to include perspectives from both sides of the argument, and have a strong rebuttal to the opposing viewpoint

Celebrations reflect one’s culture and heritage, familial, regional, religious, or national. Are festivities and celebrations essential to keeping a culture alive, or are there other ways to do this? You do not need to have a solid “yes” or “no” argument in your essay; it can be more nuanced as long as it is explained well.

An easy way to write an engaging essay is by reflecting on a celebration you found particularly memorable. Write about the celebration in detail- Who was there? When was it? How did you celebrate? There are many traditional celebrations throughout the world. There is Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter. Not everyone or every culture, so to speak observes these celebrations. It depends on your background, culture, and beliefs. While most families around the world celebrate the traditional holidays, many families, like my own, have similar celebrations that are like the traditional holidays. Every year within my culture and religion we celebrate (Eid) al Fitr. Eid is the Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

Eid is an Arabic word meaning “festivity’, while Fitr means “break-fast,” and so the holiday symbolizes the breaking of the fasting period. Eid is almost like Christmas, with family gathering, festive attires, giving of gifts, and food, this holiday is very memorable. Usually Eid falls right at the mid end of the year right after the end of the months fast. This climate is warm at this time and the flowers are still in bloom which makes for a colorful season. I remember mom decorating the house by putting up her best draperies.

I remember waking up Eid morning to the smell of homemade sawain. A drink that is prepared the morning of Eid that is made with condensed milk, spices, vermaselie, raisons, and sweet preserved cherries. It made the whole house smell sweet and calming. Not to mention the smell of moms homemade fruit cake. The fruits are grounded and then soaked in Caribbean Malta the night before. When baked the aromas of all the ingredients hits your nose like a cool summer breeze. The sound of infectious rhythms of Eid melodies fills the air while we prepare to attend the morning pray.

Simply, it would not be Eid without hearing these sweet melodies that fill every room in the house. As my mom, dad, and brother gets dress the site of happiness and excitement lights up everyone’s faces as my mom usually gathers then night before the beautiful clothing that we will be wearing on Eid. The long gowns with hand sowed sequences, lights your eyes and the many different colors of reds, greens, and gold colors makes you aware that Eid has arrived. Off to the mosque (church) we go!

Upon arrival it is known that this joyous day has arrived as there are thousands of cars and people gathering for the Eid pray. We are greeted my many people from around the world who gather at the mosque in observation of the morning pray to celebrate the end of Ramadan. The many different colors surrounds us with view of many decorative clothing worn by others symbolizes the joyous occasion. The mosque is decorated with balloons and streamers of reds, greens, yellows, and blues. The best hand sowed draperies hang and surrounds the windows of the mosque with its sued texture of green and gold embroidered.

I love walking through the mosque after pray as the entire atmosphere is filled with merriment and smells of sweet incent that was burnt during pray. The view of twinkling signs fills the corners of the mosque wishing everyone a “Happy Eid”. The best part is the gathering of our friends, family, not to forget their friends, that all come to our house. It’s the best feeling when everyone gathers at our house and there is no room for anyone to sit. People sit on our floors or just about wherever they can find a seat to enjoy my mom’s delicious foods and deserts.

With the laughter that sounds the air and the excitement and joy in everyone’s face is what makes this day. Also let’s not forget the gifts! It just would not be Eid if our house was not infested all day long with guests in and out of our house and the joy that comes with the festive celebration. We all have our own special celebrations that make a joyous occasion. The best part of the celebration is the folks that we share it with and the memories that are priceless. Whiles most families celebrate the traditional celebrations, Eid is what my family celebrates that makes this occasions simply the most memorable of all.

Happy New Year to those of you who celebrate New Year on January 1st. Here is an IELTS essay question relating to festivals and celebrations.

Most traditional festivals and celebrations are losing their meaning as they become more commercial with the emphasis on buying presents and spending money on parties. Some people think that traditional festivals are a waste of time and money. To what extent do you agree?

Always spend time thinking about the essay title and planning your answer. You should spend a minimum of 5 minutes thinking, analysing and planning before you start writing your essay. Here are some questions to help you consider the above essay.

Questions for Analysis

1. How do most people celebrate traditional festivals?

2. Do most people who spend money not recognise the meaning behind the festival?

3. Is it possible to spend lots of money on celebrations and still recognise their meaning?

4. Are people more interested in the traditional meaning of festivals or on having a good time  celebrating?

5. How important are traditional festivals in keeping a culture alive?

6. What would happen if we get rid of all traditional festivals?

7. Do you think the money spent on festivals could be better used?

Now plan how you will use your ideas to answer the question given in the IELTS essay question. After you have decided your plan, check the ideas below. Remember that there is no right or wrong in IELTS. These ideas offer one possible options for the content of body paragraphs.

Below is an example of body paragraph content for a partial agree essay ( a balanced view).

• Body Paragraph A: Many traditional festivals are becoming more commercial as people use them as an opportunity to treat themselves or others to expensive luxury goods.
• Body Paragraph B: This money could certainly be better used as it is not necessary to spend so much money to enjoy festivals and respect traditions.
• Body Paragraph C: Regardless of the commercial aspect that is developing around many festivals, they are still vitally important in keeping traditions alive and teaching the younger generation about their own culture.

Hi liz! Thank you so much for your valuable lessons. I just want to ask a question. What is meant by “national celebrations”? Are they only the national days that have historic backgrounds? Or do they also include other celebrations such as religious ones?

These questions and topic relate to the Speaking test. You are not marked on your understanding of the questions. So, this means, you can interpret the questions as you wish. Then allow the examiner to guide you if he or she wishes.

I have written a background statement and thesis statement for this essay using a balanced approach as described in one of your advanced lessons, please correct me if am wrong

In the modern era, festivals have become a commercial, where people are allowed to spend lavishly on gifts and get together and as a result, losing the importance of festivals. In my opinion, celebrating festivals in this way is a waste of time and money and therefore, should only be celebrated to help poor and to keep the traditions alive

You have the right technique. But avoid using “in the modern era”. Your English is good enough that you should not depend on learned phrases that are used by thousands of other students. Avoid phrases.

Madam if I disagree and want to give a balace view. The structure Bp1- Due to festivals people meet with each other and share their common thoughts.So it is a good way to become socialise with relatives and friends in todays busy world. Bp2- Traditional ceremonies are our cultural identity and makes us feel that we are a part of the community. Bp3- Presently the economic status of people is improving and due to effect of other modern cultures people are now spending on presents and decorations in a festival.I think it is a way to greet each other and to celebrate the event in a grand manner. Kindly suggest whether the above ideas are relevant or not. Thanks Regards

Hi Liz Thanks for your reply , yes I got your writing essays and the video , it’s phenomenal, my problem I get excited and I keep going with my ideas leaving the plan in one side and never stick to limited words number , I guess a part of my problem is more writing as a result will make more slips , I need to think simple Your essay is so simple and clear , my mistake is I think they are testing my knowledge , I will stick to what you say and appreciate all the helping hands , wishing you a wonderful weekend.

I think you’ve highlighted two very important points. 1) If you don’t plan your WHOLE essay carefully, you will run over with ideas and your essay will become longer and longer. Your plan is about selecting the best ideas and planning two or three supporting points. When you start writing, you will know the content for almost every sentences. This allows you to focus on accuracy with English when writing. Planning is essential !! 2) Your knowledge is not tested in speaking or writing. In your essay, you don’t get a higher score because your ideas are better or because your knowledge is stronger. You get points for being: – relevant – focused – developed ideas (with highly relevant supporting points) – on topic (not just the main topic but the issues directly addressed that are in the essay question)

In that body paragraph C : Can we say’ important for keeping ‘ or it will be marked wrong ? I find it hard to predict whish preposition i should use sometimes..

Dear Liz, As an IELTs tutor, and indeed as someone who has recommended your site to my students, I am concerned by the number of errors in your posts. It is so easy to make typographical errors and so it is important to check anything that is posted. As an example read through Body paragraph C! keep should be keeping and generator should be generation.

I appreciate you helping me proof read as I don’t always have time or I miss typos. However, I don’t appreciate your negativity. I consider it rude, ungrateful and unprofessional. Teachers should never speak in such a way to other teachers – NEVER. And doctors should know better than to ooze negativity over other people, particularly those who are seriously sick, housebound and in frequent pain – or didn’t you know that about me? As both a teacher and a doctor you should be ashamed of your comment and your attitude. Students learn not only subject content from a teacher but much more. I hope my students learn positive thinking as well as respect and kindness for others. My whole website is based on kindness and supportive comments. You seem to teach a condescending, patronising attitude with an unprofessional manner. Not a good role model. You don’t pay for my lessons so I suggest you and your students find another website to follow.

IELTS often use the similar topics but phrase the questions differently.

Is it necessary to have a third body para if we are partially agreeing? Or is it OK to write two body paras if we are agreeing or disagreeing or partially agreeing?

Sorry i have a strange question . In the first paragraph you wrote ‘a opportunity’ not ‘an opportunity’ . I have seen a similar wording in a reading passage and i thought it’s a mistake.

Model Answer 1:

Time flies really fast, and the event, that took place a year ago, seems like happened only a week ago or so. In fact, I can still vividly remember the day when I celebrated a happy new year with all of my family members about a few years ago.

However, before that day though, I and my family had wanted to celebrate a happy reunion of the entire family for quite some time, but it just didn’t happen because both my elder brother and sister were not able to make them available because they both used to live quite far away from me and my parents due to their professions. But, we saw a great window of opportunity to have a family celebration as soon as a new year was about to arrive as both of my elder brother and younger sister confirmed that they would visit us on the eve of New Year and spend a few days with us.

Anyway, since it was a rare opportunity, we all wanted to make our family reunion a memorable event by celebrating a happy new year together at a nearby restaurant. So, on the eve of New Year, we all went to the restaurant and ordered our favourite food and desserts. Once, our food fests were over, we decided to head to our home and watch some of our old family videos in order to revisit our lovely and happy past as children. At the end of our reunion, I felt like the celebration was long overdue as we all enjoyed our time to the fullest.

It was really important for me and my family to attend this celebration because it helped us understand the value of my family like never before. Besides, it also gave us an opportunity to relax and have some fun with the entire family after a tiring and long work year.

Sample Answer 2:

I often visit my hometown, during vacations or public holidays, where my parents and other family members live. For this topic, I would like to talk about my younger sister’s birthday celebration which I attended a year ago. It was strictly a family celebration from the perspective that no other neighbours or friends were invited and only our close family members celebrated this occasion.

Before the celebration, my mother and the younger sister asked me if I would be able to join them. Since it was just the beginning of my semester, I had been able to manage time to travel to my hometown and join my family.

The celebration took place at our house at (…say your hometown’s name…) . This was a family reunion and the occasion was my younger sister’s 16th birthday. I was excited to join the celebration as all of my family members including the newborn of my eldest sister would also be there. I had not been able to visit my family for a few months and that was a perfect opportunity to meet my family members and spend some enjoyable and quality time with them.

I was thinking to buy a digital camera for my younger sister and that was a precise occasion to buy her the gift. My sister was very excited to have it as her birthday gift. Celebrations like birthdays are always important in our family as it allows us to get together and spend a few days together. As two of my sisters are married and live in two different cities with their husbands, they also attend such occasions and we all enjoy our stay together. From this perspective, this was an important occasion for us.

IELTS Speaking topic: A family celebration

Describe a family celebration (such as wedding) that you attended. You should say: when and where this celebration was held what you did in this celebration who was there and explain why this celebration was held.

The last time we celebrated was in the National Day when it came to my son’s birthday, on October 3rd. We threw a party to celebrate his 4-year-old birthday, and all of our relatives in Beijing took a part in the celebration.

This meal was really a big banquet. We booked a room in a restaurant and decorated it with some flowers and balloons hanging on the wall. Then we prepared a big birthday cake and some other tasty foods like salads, biscuits and fruit juice. Besides as for adults we had some delicacies like Gong Bao Chicken, Simmer Meat, Roasted Duck. And we had noodles as our staple food because in China, long noodles are traditionally eaten by person celebrating his birthday.

I invited all my relatives to come to dinner mainly because I wanted to strengthen the family bonding between us. Besides, it was a desirable opportunity to teach son how to share his happiness and especially, how to interact with others. On top of that, admittedly, we just would like to sit down together and enjoy the tasty food.

Some family traditions may have symbolic significance. Your family might travel to a specific location as a site of celebration — much like a religious pilgrimage. But while tradition is commonly associated with religious rituals, it can also be a secular event.

Anyone who comes from a home that celebrates family traditions can attest to the powerful bonding potential of these occasions. It’s a moment in which your family commits to spending quality time together. 

With time and a little effort, every family, no matter how big or small, blended or chosen, can establish a unique set of traditions. These traditions can connect them to one another and to themselves. 

What are some common family traditions?

Many families around the world share common family traditions. There are certain celebrations and holidays that give family members the time to come together and do something as a family. 

Here are some examples of common family traditions from around the world:

• Decorating the Christmas tree as a family. Although this tradition is connected to a religious holiday, it has become widespread around the world. In the US alone, 94 million households will have at least one Christmas tree during the holiday season.
• Hiding baby teeth under a pillow for the tooth fairy. What started out as folklore from the Middle Ages has become a widely practiced family tradition.

What are family traditions unique to certain cultures?

While they may be common in their country of origin, there are family traditions that are unique to certain cultures.

Let’s look at some examples of unique family traditions from around the world:

• Honoring ancestors in Japan. Many Japanese homes have a small family altar, or butsudan , as a sign of respect for elders who have passed away.
• Celebrating the first day of school in Germany. On the Einschulung, the first day of grade one, children are given a Schultüte . This is a decorated cardboard cone filled with sweets, school supplies, and small books to celebrate the day.

Family traditions vary in how they’re celebrated, but they all have a common thread of importance:

Creates a sense of comfort and security

The value of ritual should never be underestimated. In our increasingly chaotic and fast-paced world, we tend to go through life with a sort of tunnel vision. This coping mechanism can manifest as an all-consuming short-sightedness and anxiety that chips away at our free time. 

Establishing a family tradition that happens on a set day creates a sense of rhythm and order. Despite everybody’s busy schedules, setting aside time is incredibly important for nurturing family connections. This is grounding and comforting amongst the unpredictable world we live in.

Set aside time for family traditions

Family traditions may fall to the wayside without proper planning and time management . To prevent this from happening, use time blocking to set aside time for the occasion. 

Keep it simple

Overcomplicating a family ritual may detract from its fun aspect and make it a stressful affair . 

Keep it simple, genuine, and inclusive. Remember that a family ritual is meant to be a moment of relaxation, connection, and appreciation. Skip superficial measures and focus on what is really important .

Everyone has a different understanding of self-care. For some, their morning jog might be essential to their self-care plan . For others, it could mean dedicating time to mindful breathing or visiting a therapist every week. 

Ultimately, as long as it is a healthy habit and it works for you, you should prioritize it. Investing in your relationship with yourself is an investment in every other relationship in your life.

A Family Celebration Essay Example

 There are many traditional celebrations throughout the world. There is Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter. Not everyone or every culture, so to speak observes these celebrations. It depends on your background, culture, and beliefs. While most families around the world celebrate the traditional holidays, many families, like my own, have similar celebrations that are like the traditional holidays. Every year within my culture and religion we celebrate (Eid) al Fitr.

Eid is the Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Eid is an Arabic word meaning "festivity, while Fitr means "break-fast," and so the holiday symbolizes the breaking of the fasting period. Eid is almost like Christmas, with a family gatherings, festive attires, giving of gifts, and food, this holiday is very

memorable. Usually, Eid falls right at the mid-end of the year right after the end of the month fast. This climate is warm at this time and the flowers are still in bloom which makes for a colorful season.

I remember mom decorating the house by putting up her best draperies. I remember waking up Eid morning to the smell of homemade swain. A rink that is prepared the morning of Eid is made with condensed milk, spices, vermaselie, raisins, and sweet preserved cherries. It made the whole house smell sweet and calming. Not to mention the smell of mom's homemade fruit cake. The fruits are grounded and then soaked in Caribbean Malta the night before.

When baked the aromas of all the ingredients hits your nose like a cool summer breeze. The sound of infectious rhythms of Eid melodies fills the air while we prepar

to attend the morning prayer. Simply, it would not be Eid without hearing these sweet melodies that fill every room in the house. As my mom, dad, and brother get dressed the site of happiness and excitement lights up everyone's faces as my mom usually gathers the night before the beautiful clothing that we will be wearing on Eid.

The long gowns with hand sowed sequences, light your eyes, and the many different colors of reds, greens, and gold colors make you aware that Eid has arrived. Off to the mosque (church) we go! Upon arrival, it is known that this Joyous day has arrived as there are thousands of cars and people gathering for the Eid prayers. We are greeted my many people from around the world who gather at the mosque in observation of the morning pray to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

The many different colors surrounding us with a view of much decorative clothing worn by others symbolizes the Joyous occasion. The mosque is decorated with balloons and streamers of reds, greens, yellows, and blues. The best hand sowed draperies hang and surround the windows of the mosque with its sued texture of green and gold embroidered. I love walking through the mosque after praying as the entire atmosphere is filled with merriment and smells of sweet incent that were burnt during pray.

King Charles and Queen Camilla’s ‘emotional’ wedding anniversary celebration plans revealed

With their 19th wedding anniversary fast approaching, King Charles III and Queen Camilla are gearing up to mark the occasion with a private celebration.

The pair, who tied the knot on April 9, 2005, will make the most of their special day despite major health woes plaguing the royal family at this time.

In fact, the pair will mark their anniversary with an intimate “romantic dinner,” according to the monarch’s former butler Grant Harrold.

“I can’t believe it’s 19 years this year. I was there that day, in the church. They’ll celebrate it, but they’re not big [on celebrations],” Harrold said of the couple.

“They don’t have parties or anything like that at all. Maybe for 20 years, they will. But it’s normally marked privately between the two of them. I’m sure there’ll be a card and then a gift, very similar to the way that other people celebrate it.”

The pair’s special day will no doubt be more “emotional” and “poignant” this year than most, Harrold adds.

“I have no doubt they’ll be together for the occasion, and I’m sure behind closed doors, they’ll probably have a romantic dinner with just the two of them,” he shared of the pair, who tied the knot 35 years after they first met in 1970.

Charles, who is in the thick of his cancer treatment following his diagnosis in February , has been forced to hit the brakes on much of his royal agenda since news of his ailing health came to light.

“With the king’s treatment he might not have any other people there, so it is likely to be private between the two of them,” His Majesty’s former butler noted.

Harrold, who worked for the couple between 2004 and 2011, says the king and queen will receive “thousands” of cards from well wishers from across the globe on their anniversary.

“They get thousands. They can’t read them all, it’s impossible, you can’t send them hundreds of thousands of cards and think they’re going to see them all,” he said on behalf of Spin Genie .

“What happens, just to give people a bit of hope, is the cards go to the office and they do all get read.”

“As far as I know, as many as possible, as is sensible, get responded to,” he continued. “There is always a cross section that’s taken out and put separately and that cross section is then presented to the relevant members of the royal family to read.”

It comes as Harrold revealed that “workaholic” Charles has come to be “frustrated” over the current face of the monarchy after the Firm was forced to undergo a major reshuffle .

Madonna is known for bringing her family along on tour, but some special guests stepped out to show their support at her concert in Tampa.

When the pop icon, 65, brought her Celebration Tour to Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida on Thursday, April 4, she gave a shout-out to her cousins in the audience. Not only was the hitmaker excited that her relatives from her mother's side of the family were in attendance, she shared that it had been over two decades since she'd seen them.

According to fan-recorded footage that was shared to YouTube , the Material Girl mentioned her cousins were watching the show while taking a moment on stage to reflect on the value of family. After speaking about her children and reflecting on her late mother , she said, "One other mention is that I have two cousins that are in the audience tonight."

The seven-time Grammy winner continued, "I'm not pointing them out. I'm just saying that my mother is their aunt and I haven't seen them in, I don't know, 25 years maybe."

"I hope that you enjoy seeing them tonight," Madonna added.

The moment felt especially moving, given how the pop superstar has opened up over the years about how much her mother's death caused by breast cancer in 1963 when she was just 5 years old has affected her.

Madge gave a nod to her relatives shortly after the portion of her show, which features tributes to her mom, Madonna Louise Ciccone and her son David 's birth mother, among others, saying that it gives her "great pleasure" to see their faces on stage.

"This part of the show, and this part of my life, is extremely important to me," she said. "Everything that I have ever done in my life is meaningless compared to be a mother. I'm not trying to sound corny or anything because it is a full-time job."

After thanking her children David, Mercy , and twins Stella and Estere for performing every night during the tour , and noting how much she loves all of her kids (including the two eldest, Lourdes and Rocco , who don't join her out on the road), she continued to speak about how much family means to her.

The "Hung Up" singer said, "So, thanks for talking about family and motherhood and love. Right? Because that's what it's all about. That's why I'm here. That's why I still have this job because I love what I do. And also because you have been supporting me for 40 years, so thank you. Thank you for your love and support for four f---ing decades. I do not take it for granted."

Madonna's acclaimed, long-awaited Celebration Tour  launched in October 2023 at London's O2 Arena with a spectacular two-hour set where she opened up about her  road back to the stage  following  her hospitalization last year  due to a  serious bacterial infection .

After the European leg of the tour, which lasted throughout the fall, she kicked off her shows in North American with several dates in New York City and Washington D.C. in December. Her tour resumed in early 2024 and is set to continue across the U.S. until April 15. At the end of the month, she'll take the show to Mexico City for five dates.

The Celebration Tour will officially wrap up with a special, free concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 4 at Copacabana Beach.

According to a press release, the historic show sponsored by Itaú Apresenta "will be free of charge as a thank you to her fans for celebration more than four decades of her music over the course of the epic global run of the tour."
