Essay About Someone You Admire : The Teacher I Admire Most

  • Author Henry O.

The society holds teachers in high admiration, referring to them as nation builders. However, with the existence of millions of teachers globally, not all are comparable or gifted in the same way. There exist only a few shining gems among them identified as nation builders in the society’s real sense. Conversely, there exists an unconscious fear superimposed by the students over their teachers psychologically ( Timmermans 222) . An excellent student-teacher performance is most likely to see a positive, healthy performance among the students.

I rank my English teacher, Mr. Doe, as the most desired teacher. Although in his late fifty’s, he still possesses immense knowledge in both literature and life skills. Besides, the lecturer is very popular with the students, his pleasing manner, excellent teaching mode, imposing personality, affection, and love above all strict discipline, a combination of character and personality I find attractive.

The 45 minutes spent in a literature class with Mr. Doe is not only educative, but his method of teaching infused with humor has led to a significant improvement in the students’ overall performance. The lessons are always engaging practically, and every student becomes a part of the class. The later also saw a high-class attendance ( Brooks). With his calm performance and extensive poetry skills, he cultured into me one of the best poets in my school.

My English teacher (Mr. Doe) is time conscious (irrespective of the weather), honest, kind, and dutiful. During the physical education classes, he always interacts freely with the students engaging them in conversations on various topics such as drug abuse and misuse, forest conservation measures, and sex education. Nevertheless, he knows how to maintain a good relationship with other teachers.

He has won almost everybody’s admiration for his faithfulness and learning devotion in the teaching profession. I find Mr. Doe to be a man of principles, as he is always truthful and honest. I found Mr. Doe’s lectures interesting, as he does no restrain himself to what the curriculum states as per the textbook; he also tries painting the bigger picture of that which the society encompasses.

Whenever students raise questions in his class, Mr. Doe answers all politely and with a lot of care. This has made me improve my listening skills alongside becoming more attentive in other courses (Costa). Questions repeatedly asked never irritates him. Additionally, I owe him gratitude for creating a strong foundation for my grammar, communication skills, and writing skills. Something I always felt I never had the aptitude to improve on. I vividly remember when I first joined the course as I lacked confidence and motivated. Mr. Doe was always present, assisting me in identifying my weakness and turning them to strengths. He had been a guardian to me as he always advised me on the steps to take in improving my communication, grammar, and writing skills.

Every week, he always ensures to organize school debate competitions within the learning institutions. Because of the teacher’s sincere efforts and self-contribution, the institution has garnered a great effort in our inter-district matches. Three years ago, the district educational stakeholders had awarded him a gold medal. My favorite teacher did play a crucial role in my life. He taught me many ideas and values. He always showed me the right direction and asked me to go after my dreams. His advice for me to be a better person in society is something I still follow at heart.

Essay About Someone You Admire: The Teacher I Admire Most

write an essay on the teacher you admire most

Teachers play a pivotal role in nurturing an individual into becoming a great thinker and intellectual. The profession comes with the responsibility of raising an entire generation of people. Thus, their role in cultivating strong confidence, high self-esteem, and great comprehensive techniques is essential. To ensure that students grasp important skills crucial for them to take initiatives and build a promising future, teachers have to go an extra mile.

A great teacher can turn a below-average student into an exceptional one and empower them to find courage and motivation within themselves to improve academically. This characteristic is built with experience. Although the school has a potent role in helping the teacher reach his or her full potential, it finally boils down to the individual’s potential. Considering the significance of the role teachers play in a student’s life, several countries have established a policy to have them renew their teaching license every few years as that will ensure that they stay up to date with the current and relevant knowledge.

Hence, the characteristics and traits of an effective teacher are discussed below in detail.

They know how to reduce tension in the classroom

There are two types of teachers in the world; the ones who increase the tension in the atmosphere as soon as they enter the classroom and the ones who reduce it. Thus, a brilliant teacher is the one who will instantly brighten up the room they walk in. Call it part of their persona, but students find them highly approachable and easy to communicate to. This way, if they have any concerns, they find it comparatively convenient to open up. Major bouts of catharsis happen in their classes.

They use varied methods of instructional techniques

If a teacher continues to use the same measures and methods of teaching, the students might get bored and sleepy in the classroom setting. The key is to constantly reinvent the teaching and instructional style to bring excitement and newness in class. This way it will be easier to grab the attention of the students and make them take interest without having to force them to do so unnecessarily.

They provide clear instructions regarding the assignments

We’ve all had teachers who would provide one line instructions about the assignment without going into further detail that leaves the students in confusion and prolonged hours of stress and tension. Due to their inability to convey effectively, students suffer academically. Thus, a great teacher would ensure that every student is aware of the topic and the intricacies involved in writing that assignment.

They draw references and examples from daily life.

Learning becomes easier if the examples and references are drawn out from real-life incidents. By using this technique, the students can easily comprehend difficult concepts and constructs instead of spending hours on just trying to get the hang of it. Furthermore, the one quality that is found in every effective teacher is that they have an example or analogy for everything. This makes their lectures even more interesting to attend.

They provide immediate feedback to students

Once the examinations end, students are preoccupied with the worry about their grades and marks. They want to see their marks as soon as possible. This is when some teachers fail to meet expectations. Teachers must return the checked papers in the next class without coming with excuses like how they didn’t get any time to check them. Immediate feedback and constructive criticism are important for learning otherwise the student becomes fatigued and tired of waiting and eventually loses attachment with the subject.

They have a sense of humour

Who says teachers are boring? On the contrary, an effective teacher is humorous and have stories to tell. They drive lessons from daily instances and apply them in their teaching. They ensure that no matter how dry a subject might be, students should find it. Humour is known to be a great teacher anyway.

They keep the communication open for parents

If a student exhibits signs of behavioural problems, a professional teacher will give special attention to him. Hence, in an ideal world, when a student doesn’t pay attention in class, instead of taunting or punishing them, the teacher would sit down with him after class. They would find a solution and discuss it with the parent. If the parent does not know the child’s behavioural issues, they will blame it on the teacher. This is why it is important not to keep them in the dark.

They enjoy teaching

For these great individuals, teaching is an art form and a passion from which they drive their happiness. They enjoy giving lectures, discussing and having intellectual debates with their students, and helping them become a better version of themselves. In addition to this, they learn from the students, which makes them less egotistical and self-absorbed.

They keep up to date with modern and current knowledge

The most important trait of a great teacher is the fact that they are completely aware of modern knowledge. This is because they don’t assume that they’re better than the students just because now they are in the position of power. Even as a teacher, their pursuit of learning continues. Thus, they read current researches and maintain organised lectures.

Essay No. 01

A teacher is a nation-builder. He is held in high respect by all. But every stone is not a gem. There are teachers and all are not alike, Nor equally gifted. There are only a few shining gems among them, that may be called the nation-builders in the real sense of the word.

There are a number of teachers in my school who have taught me, but Mr. R.P. Mittal has impressed me most with his learning and ability. I like him the most. He has an impressive personality.

He is a healthy young man with a graceful bearing. He teaches us Eng. Mr. Mittal is M.A. in Eng. He is a trained and qualified teacher and has a remarkable mastery of his subject. He believes in the maxim of simple living and high thinking. He is simple in dress and habits. Though a little serious and stern in his appearance, he is tolerant and sympathetic at heart. He knows the minds of children. He never loses his temper, nor gets excited. His behavior with the students is father-like. He seldom uses a cane for the acts on the rule uses the rod and spoils the child.

Mr. Mittal believes in obedience and discipline on the part of the students. While at school or outside, he keeps at a respectable distance from the students and does not allow them to take an advantage of his leniency. He acts upon whatever he says or asks others to do. He is himself regular and punctual, and by his solitary example, he has improved the tone of his classes. During his of discipline, obedience, regularity, and punctuality. According to Mr. Mittal, these are the four pillars on which erect the building of their careers.

He knows how to teach effectively. He creates interest even in the dull and dry lessons on grammar. Not a single student is found inattentive in his class. It is because he has won the confidence of the students by the qualities of his head and heart. Students, and their parents too, cooperate with him and value his guidance concerning education or vocation.

Mr. Mittal has a sense of humor which other teachers mostly lack. He feels the pulse of the students cleverly while he is teaching. He enjoys a joke with them and sometimes he correlates a witty story with the lesson of the delay.

I shall always remember him with gratitude. I can say with full confidence that he has a hand in preparing us for the struggle of life.

The Person I Admire the Most

Movies stars and singers, who make a lot of money and are famous, are teenagers’ admiration. However, they don’t even know the person or their personality. To me admiration is a kind of respect. My mother is the only person who had entered my life and made my look at things differently.

The first reason that I admire my mother is she teaches me about the Experience is what you learn as you go  through your life. As a child , we always learned that people are really nice and generous. That is not true. As you step into the real world, you will see the real face of the people and all different schemes , plan to fulfill them.

The mother takes care of her children first before she can take care of her. My mother always takes care of me first before she can take care of herself. For example , after a long day of work, even if she is really tired that she can just go home and relax. Instead, she makes dinner for the family and takes out a little time to look at my homework and listen to me complain about the school, the teacher. And then she gets my bag pack ready for the next day before she can even go to take a shower. Nobody had ever done this for me and there will be no one who would do the same thing like my mother.

In conclusion, I admire my mother because she teaches me about life experiences. My mother works so hard for our family and for my best. When I grow up I will take care of her as the way she did to me right now.

My Favourite Teacher

A teacher is the one who is known as the base of our future or we can say teacher is the one who shows or teaches us the path of life. Mr. Lal is my favourite teacher. He is a brilliant tutor. He has the wonderful ability of being able to motivate students in a down-to-earth way. He is a very understanding teacher. He treats students like friends, understands them and solves their problems in the best possible and easiest way. He never shouts. He always remains calm. He is very helpful. A student can ask any question any time.

Queries never irritate him, and he answers them very politely. I owe him lot of gratitude for finding my writing and grammar skills, of which I always felt I never had the ability to do, and improve my communication skills.

When I was in class tenth, I was very weak in English. After giving my exams, I decided to improve my English. I met Mr. Lal. I was very nervous. He gave me the confidence to realize that I could make something out of myself He detected my strengths and weaknesses and suggested me ways to improve and work further on my writing, grammar and communication skill.

The greatest thing I learned from him is that I could do it; a voice to believe in myself.

He has no greed. He always gives his full time to the students. When I first arrived to commence on course, I was too young and lacked confidence and motivation. Fortunately, Mr. Lal was there and he did a wonderful job: he is intelligent, respectful, honest and very friendly indeed.

Descriptive Essay: My Favorite Teacher

My favorite teacher is my history teacher, and he is by far the best teacher that I have ever had. He has the ability to make a subject that many students find incredibly boring come to life through his enthusiasm and passion for history, and his love of being a teacher. Going to his lessons is something we look forward to, not dread, like we do with most other lessons.

It’s ever so funny to watch him get excited about something, which happens in every lesson. It’s easy to know that he’s getting excited because he begins bouncing up and down slightly in a way that no other sixty-something year old would ever managed without looking completely ridiculous. He has this dark (with more and more grey streaks these days), springy hair that lines the edge of his growing bald patch, and the hair bounces up and down with him like thousands of tiny little springs. Then, he takes on his whole new persona, often going into role and becoming the character or figure he is talking about, doing the voices, the actions, and parading up and down the room gesticulating wildly, but all the while there’s a gentle ‘bounce, bounce, bounce’, as though the springs are not just on his head but on the soles of his shoes too.

A teacher that doesn’t take himself too seriously always will be a big hit with teenagers, although he’s not afraid to impose his authority if he has to. I’ve only ever heard him properly shout once (although thankfully it wasn’t it me), but it isn’t an experience that I would like to repeat. When he lost it, the room suddenly became more silent than I’d ever known it to be before. We all sat slightly paralyzed, not even anting to breathe too loudly, because hearing such a jovial and jolly little man lose his temper was a huge shock. It certainly had the right kind of impact though, because he’s never needed to shout since.

It is actually this teacher that I have to thank for my love of history. In his lessons, history does not mean copying out of textbooks and writing pages and pages of notes. History is alive; history is something tangible, that you can see, hear and feel, and we can live it through dressing up and acting out scenes or taking trips to important places of historical interest. And although he’s getting on in years and may not be teaching for much longer, he will have an important place in history for many of his students, because there has never been a teacher able to bring a subject to life in quite the same way he does.

The Person That You Admire: My Beloved Teacher

The Person That You Admire: My Beloved Teacher

The writer expresses their admiration for their English teacher, Tuan, who they believe is the best English teacher in their hometown. They appreciate his vast knowledge of English and his ability to teach in an interesting and understandable way. However, they admire Tuan not just for his teaching skills, but also for his personality. They describe him as an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who is always thinking about his students. The writer recalls a time when Tuan came to class despite being sick with a high temperature, just to help them prepare for an exam. Tuan’s dedication to his students inspires the writer and they credit him with making them fall in love with English.

If you ask some teenagers: “Who do you admire? ”, many of them will answer your question by showing their love to some singers, actors or famous people. But if you ask me that question, I will answer proudly: “ The person that I admire the most is my English teacher, who’s just ordinary to many people but very special to me”. His name is Tuan. He taught me English when I was in secondary school. He’s known as the best English teacher in my hometown.

Not only does he have a wide knowledge of English and but he also knows how to impart his knowledge to students in an interesting and easily understandable way. He makes learning English less difficult. That’s why many students, including me, admire him and enjoy his English class so much. But, I admire him for not only his knowledge but also his personality. I have to say that, never have I met such an enthusiastic teacher like him.

He thinks about teaching and students all the time. He comes to class regardless of sun or rain. Even if it’s an extra class, he will try his best to come to teach students. He doesn’t want any students to spend a lot of time and efforts without achieving high results. I remember one time, he was sick, and he still came to class despite his wife’s prevention, just because we were going to take an exam. He had a high temperature, he was very tired, but he still came for us.

We were all grateful to him for what he had given us. It wasn’t just knowledge, it was love. When I had to stand between two difficult choices: to go to Ha Noi to study or not, it was him, too who gave me the right and sincere advice. Finally, I just want to confirm my love and admiration for Mr. Tuan, who inspired me, who made me fall in love with English. I really admire him for that, for having been a great example and giving me the encouragement. He’s just like the sun, to me.

My cousin laura.

Someone I admire is my cousin Laura. She’s five years older than me, so she’s 19 now and she lives in Bristol. She’s very friendly and confident and she’s got long, wavy, brown hair and greeny-brown eyes. She’s medium height, slim and very fit because she’s a dancer.

She’s been dancing since she was six years old and trains every day at her dance school. She wants to be a professional dancer, but it’s a very difficult profession because it’s so competitive. She often dances in shows and I’ve been to watch her several times. Her favourite type of dance is modern, which is sometimes a bit strange, but I love watching her dance.

Laura is very busy because she also studies photography at university. She’s a really good photographer and has taken lots of amazing photos of me and my family. Her photos have won a few prizes and last year one of her photos was in an exhibition at an art gallery in London.

Laura doesn’t have a lot of free time and she’s also trying to learn German because she wants to go to Germany next year to do a photography course. I think Laura is very hard-working and she deserves to become a professional dancer one day.
