The Lion and Little Rabbit

The lion became very happy to hear this. Every morning, he ate one of the animals in his cave. One day, it was the little rabbit’s turn, but the little rabbit didn’t want to be a meal of the lion. The lion was getting more and angrier because the rabbit was late. The little rabbit made a cunning plan. She spent some time in the forest. Finally, she came to the lion’s cave, but the lion was very angry.

“You are so small for me, but you are late. Where were you?”, the lion yelled at the little rabbit. “Oh, my dear king!” said the little rabbit, “I came across with another lion while I was coming to your cave. I said I was going to my king’s cave, but he said he is the king and very bad things about you. He tried to eat me, but I managed to save my life” said the little rabbit.

“I will give him a lesson with my powerful claws. Where is he? Show me, where is he?” roared the lion. The little rabbit and the lion started to search the other lion. After a while, they came too near a well. “That arrogant lion, saying bad things about you, is in this well.” said the little rabbit.

When the lion leaned into the well, he saw his own reflection on the surface of the water and thought of another lion and began to roar. As he roared violently, his voice echoed in the well and more violently came up. The lion got very angry and jumped into the well. The lion understood the little rabbit’s plan, but it was too late. This was his end.

Once upon a timethere was a beautiful jungle. There lived a very big, lazy and old lion.

Being the king of the jungle, the lion called all the animals and ordered them, “Everyday one of you should come by yourself as my prey, otherwise i will destroy the whole jungle.”

The animals were too scared of the lion and agreed to obey his order. The animals planeed to go one by one.

The lazy lion was happy with his easy prey. Days went by.

One day, it was the turn of the rabbits. A little rabbit voluntarily agreed to go to the lion’s cage.

The little rabbit reached the lion’s den very late. The angry lion roared at the little rabbit and asked, “Why are you late?”

The rabbit acted wisely and told the king that, “I met another lion on the way, which is bigger than you. It threatened to eat me.”

The lion angrily asked the rabbit “Do you know where he lives?”. The rabbit replied ‘Yes’ and asked the king to follow him.

The rabbit reached an old well and said the king, “That lion lives in this well.”

The foolish lion peeped into the well and mistook his own reflection as another lion and roared loudly.

Hearing the echo of his own, the lion got angry and jumped into the well and drowned.

That was the end of the lion and all animals lived happily in the jungle.

The Clever Rabbit and the Lion

A lazy lion bullies the other jungle animals to bring him food until a clever rabbit hatches a plan to outsmart the king of the beasts through wisdom and humility

There once lived a great big lion with fuzzy brown fur and a wild mane in the jungles of India. The lion was the king of the jungle. All the other animals were scared of him because he was so big and strong.

The lion was also very lazy. He did not want to hunt for his own food like the other animals. Instead the lion ordered all the monkeys, deer, birds and small critters to bring him food.

"I am your king!" the lion would roar. "You have to bring me tasty fruits off the tallest trees, juicy deer meat, and the plumpest birds every day for my meals!"

At first all the jungle animals rushed to bring the lion food because they were afraid he would gobble them up if they didn't obey. The monkeys picked bunches of bananas, the antelope carried over dead rabbits, and the mice scurried over with seeds and nuts.

But after many days, the animals grew tired of hunting all day long just to feed the lazy lion who did no work. So they started bringing him smaller amounts of food.

When the lion saw the tiny meals, he got very angry. He smashed his paws on the ground and snarled, "Bring me double the amount of food tomorrow or I'll eat you instead!"

All the animals were sad and scared again. But a little brown rabbit came up with a clever idea to outsmart the bossy lion.

The next morning, the sneaky rabbit pretended to be sick. He lay totally still in his burrow, coughing and groaning loudly just as the lion came by looking for breakfast.

"Oh great Lion King, I cannot bring you any food today because I am too weak and ill," said the rabbit.

The lion grabbed the rabbit in his sharp claws. But the quick-thinking rabbit had a trick up his sleeve. "Oh but kind lion, you are the biggest, strongest, most powerful animal in the whole jungle. If you give just one tremendous earth-shaking roar, the force of it will turn into a giant feast fit for a lion king!"

The lion liked this idea a lot. He took a big breath, threw back his mane, and let out the loudest, most thundering ROAR he could! But no food appeared.

So the lion roared again even louder. And again. He roared till he was out of breath and could barely squeak. But still no food magically appeared.

Finally the tired, hungry lion gave up roaring and slowly slunk away with his tail between his legs. And from then on, he did not dare bother the other animals for food again.

Thanks to the little rabbit's clever idea, all the jungle animals were free from the lazy bullying lion. The small but smart rabbit had outwitted the king of the jungle himself!

Moral: Wisdom is greater than strength. With humility and cleverness, even the small can overcome the mighty.

He was evil personified, as he would not only kill animals in the forest for food but also unnecessarily for sport and fun.

The animals were terrified of the lion as he hunted every day and killed them for pleasure. They were worried that none of them will be spared, and every one of them was sure to suffer a terrible death.

One day, the animals called for a meeting under the big tree as they feared for their lives and decided to find a way out of this difficult situation. Each one of the animals began to put forth proposals to tackle the problem. Finally, it was the turn of the wise elephant who said, “We would send one animal to his den every day, where he could kill and eat it for food. In return, he should stop hunting and not kill for food or fun.”

The animals decided to approach the lion with this strange proposal offering one animal of each species, in order of size, presenting itself to be eaten by the big cat every day.

The animals invited the lion to a meeting. The king of the beasts was surprised at the massive gathering of animals. The elephant said, “Your Majesty, we are happy to have you here. We want to put forward a plan for your consideration.” The king of the forest replied, “OK. Tell me what it is.”

The animals were scared as they did not know how the cruel big cat would react to their idea. However, gathering enough courage, the elephant said, “Lord, we know that it is natural for you to hunt and kill us for food. However, game hunting will deplete the population of this forest, and you will be left with no food.”

The lion was getting impatient with this speech. He asked the elephant, “What do you want?” The elephant replied, “Sir, please do not get angry. We have discussed among ourselves and have come up with a solution to this problem. We have decided to send one animal of each species to your den daily. You can kill and eat it. You can be relieved of the chore of hunting, and we too can survive.”

At first, the lion was amused and laughed at the proposal. However, being lazy, he agreed but placed a condition. He told the animals, “Fine, make sure that one of you comes to my den every day. But if you do not turn up, I will destroy all of you.” The animals agreed to this stipulation.

The rabbits were the first species chosen to become the king of the animals’ meal. The colony of rabbits chose an old rabbit among them. She became very sad and did not want to become the lion’s prey.

The next day, the rabbit who was supposed to go to the den and become the lion’s feast got up very late. She walked very slowly towards the den. On the way, she saw a very deep well. Looking at it, a clever thought struck her. She thought long and hard and hatched a plan to get rid of the king of the animals forever. Then, employing delaying tactics, she slept under a tree near the well reaching the lion’s den by sunset.

Meanwhile, the lion being hungry all day was becoming impatient and was livid with rage. When she saw the little rabbit coming towards him, he roared, “Why are you so late? I am dying of hunger here. You are too small a meal for me. I am going to kill everyone in the jungle” The rabbit was petrified, and with folded hands, humbly explained, “Oh, mighty one. Please listen to me. Four rabbits along with me were sent to make your meal. But, on the way, we saw another lion, which was bigger than you. He killed and devoured all of them, except me. I somehow escaped reaching here.”

The lion was taken back and exclaimed, “Another lion in my jungle. Impossible.” The rabbit continued, “Master, the other lion called you a fake and claimed himself to be the king of the forest. He wanted you to fight with him to prove his supremacy.”

The lion was overwhelmed with anger and asked the rabbit, “Take me to the place where you saw him. I will kill him and settle this matter once and for all.”

The wise rabbit asked the lion to follow her.

She took the lion towards the deep well filled with water. The rabbit said, “Chief, look down into the well. The other lion lives in this fortress. He might be hiding.”

The lion was furious and looked into the well. What he saw, stunned him. He saw another lion (mistook his reflection) and started growling. The image in the water also growled. The lion roared very loudly, and the sound of his roar echoed in the walls of the well and sounded even louder.

The lion said to the tiny rabbit, “You are absolutely correct. He is a strong fellow. But, I will kill this fake king of the jungle in a moment. I will never let anybody insult me again.”

The lion thundered, “I alone am the king of the animals.” The echo equally roared, “I alone am the king of the animals.”

Deeply enraged, the lion jumped into the well with a mighty splash to attack and kill his competitor. However, his head crashed against the rocks, and he drowned to death in the deep waters of the well. Thus, the lion died attacking his mirror image.

The clever rabbit succeeded in her plan and rushed back to tell the other animals how the lion was killed and how she saved her life as well as their lives.

When she narrated the entire event, the animals were overjoyed and thanked the rabbit for saving their lives and praised her for her wit. That was the end of the wicked lion, and the exuberant animals lived in the forest comfortably and happily thereafter.

Moral of the Lion and the Rabbit Story

The first moral of the lion and the rabbit story is that intelligence is always superior to brute physical strength, and wisdom is the quickness in seeing things as they are. The lion angrily asked the rabbit, “Why are you late?” 

“I was hiding from another lion in the forest. That lion said he was the king, so I was afraid.” 

The lion told the rabbit, “I am the only king here! Take me to that other lion, and I will kill him." 

The rabbit replied, “I will be happy to show you where he lives.” 

The rabbit led the lion to an old well in the middle of the forest. The well was very deep with water at the bottom. The rabbit told the lion, “Look in there. The lion lives at the bottom.” 

When the lion looked in the well, he could see his own face in-the water. He thought that was the other lion. Without waiting another moment, the lion jumped into the well to attack the other lion. He never came out. 

All of the other animal in the forest were very pleased with the rabbit’s clever trick.

CLEVER RABBIT AND THE FOOLISH LION

Once upon a time, a lion used to kill many animals in the forest daily. That is why one day all the animals of the forest called a meeting. They decided that they would send an animal to the lion as his meal daily so that the lion could not kill other animals on that day. They sent this proposal to the lion and he readily agreed to the proposal.

One day it was the rabbit’s turn to go to the lion. The rabbit was very clever. He hit upon a plan to kill the lion. He went to the lion very late. The lion became very angry to see the rabbit and said, “Why are you so late, I am very hungry?”  The rabbit said to the lion, “Forgive me.” Another lion tried to kill me on the way. Somehow I escaped from there. The lion said furiously, “Another lion?” In this forest? It is impossible. Then he wanted to see another lion. The rabbit took him near a well and told him to look into the well.

When he looked into the well he saw his own reflection and jumped over him. He drowned to death in the deep water of the well. The cleaver rabbit saved all the animals from the lion.

Moral: Wisdom is real knowledge.

Once upon a time, there lived a lion in the jungle. He was very powerful and strong. 

All the animals of the jungle feared him. But slowly with time, he got tired of hunting. He called all the animals of the forest and passed an order.

“I would stop hunting down the animals in the forest, and in return, you would send one animal a day to my den. Where I would kill the animal and eat it as my food”. All the animals feared the lion’s anger and started to obey this order.  

One day it was the hare’s turn to go into the lion’s den. He was very sad. On his way to the lion’s den, he came across an old well. He looked into it, it was very deep. As he looked, an idea struck him. 

The lion was very angry that no animal had come that day. The hare slowly came towards the lion. The lion roared “Why are you late?”. The hare humbly replied, “On my way, I happened to meet another lion in the jungle. He kept claiming himself to be the king of the jungle and wanted to eat me. 

I got away with much difficulty to give my life to you, Your Majesty”. The lion was pleased with the hare. But the thought of another lion in the jungle made him angry. The lion roared ” Do you know where he lives?”. The hare replied, “Yes, sir please come with me”. The hare took the lion to the old well.

He roared and there was an echo. He thought that the other lion was roaring too and jumped into the well. That was the end of the lion.

The Lion And The Rabbit-A moral story

Once upon a time, there was a very mean lion who lived in a forest. This lion was very greedy and started killing all the animals in the forest without thinking about it. 

The other animals were scared and decided to make a deal with the lion. They agreed that every day, one animal from each group would offer itself to be eaten by the lion.

One day, it was the rabbits' turn to sacrifice one of their own. They chose an old and smart rabbit. Instead of rushing to the lion, the rabbit took its time. 

The lion got very angry and threatened to kill all the animals the next day. Finally, in the evening, the rabbit reached the lion's den. The lion was furious and demanded an explanation.

The clever rabbit told the lion that while the other rabbits were on their way, another lion attacked them and ate them all, except for the old rabbit. 

He explained that this other lion was challenging the lion's authority. The lion became even more enraged and wanted to find this rival lion.

The wise rabbit agreed to show the lion where the other lion was. 

He led the lion to a well filled with water and showed him his own reflection in the water. The lion saw his reflection and thought it was the rival lion. 

He became furious and jumped into the water to attack it. Sadly, the lion drowned and lost his life in the well.

The moral of the story is that being too proud and angry can lead to big trouble.

This paper explores the personal and professional perceptions of twenty-two Catholic school educators in Western Australia who participated in a spiritual and faith formation program called Galilee. The paper initially outlines the background of the program followed by a review of the literature that focuses on five concepts: people are spiritual and religious beings; a desire to belong; the place of prayer; a journey of faith; and spiritual and faith formation. The research methodology is then provided. Specifically, the research was based on qualitative and quantitative data derived from an on-line survey. The results are reported in four sections. The in vitro propagation of Cattleya intermedia was developed in a laboratory from seeding in modified Vacin and Went (1949) culture medium. After germination, two subcultures were carried out until the plants reached a size of about five centimeters. Then the plants were acclimatized in Sphagnum and Pinus bark substratum for four months where their development was monitored through monthly measurements of roots and leaves. There was a survival of 27% of the plants acclimatized in Pinus bark and 53% in Sphagnum substratum. After this period of acclimatization, the seedlings were reintroduced to the woods and a regular monitoring showed that 83% of the acclimatized plants survived.

Nowadays, Finite Elements softwares allow the user to model efficiently the contact between two solids. It is though necessary to make numerous assumptions in order to compute a contact in a reasonable time: generally surfaces are smooth and the mesh is too coarse to accurately study transient phenomena. Moreover, friction on the surface is rarely taken into account since models are usually axi-symmetric. This paper presents a semi-analytical formulation that allows computing the contact between two elasticplastic solids with rough surfaces. The numerical methods used, i.e. the conjugate gradient and the fast Fourier transform allow to refine the mesh drastically. The main advantage of this formulation over Finite Elements method is the much shorter computation times. Ideally, to carry out screening for eye diseases, it is expected to use specialized medical equipment to capture retinal fundus images. However, since this kind of equipment is generally expensive and has low portability, and with the development of technology and the emergence of smartphones, new portable and cheaper screening options have emerged, one of them being the D-Eye device. When compared to specialized equipment, this equipment and other similar devices associated with a smartphone present lower quality and less field-of-view in the retinal video captured, yet with sufficient quality to perform a medical pre-screening. This article delves into the “reconstruction” of the “map” of European travellers who got around and stayed in present-day Argentinean territory. Special attention was paid to the contribution of Alfred du Graty and Martin de Moussy to the construction of the “historical memory”, of a national imaginary and of the “narration of nation” in their roles as representatives of Argentinean Confederation in two Universal Exhibitions in Paris (in 1855 and 1867).
