my experience in examination hall essay

Examinations are a great curse. They are a bane of our system education. They come like electric shocks to students. When they come, even the gayest of them forget all play and turn worshippers at the altar of books day and night.

Everybody is afraid of them. Ever Christ said, “O God ! save me from trial.” This gives one some idea of the terror they strike into the hearts of the poor examinees.

I had to take the matric examination. I had swotted for it and yet I had a lurking fear that I would not do well. A night before the examination. I felt worried to death. I could not get a wink of sleep- My heart was throbbing with fear.

At last the fatal day dawned. The bell rang and all the candidates hurried into the examination hall. I tried to compose myself but all to no purpose. My heart went on palpitating. The examinees sat calm and quiet, awaiting the question paper that was to decide their fate. At last at the fixed time, the question papers were distributed. There was a pin-drop silence in the hall.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

I read the question paper carefully once and again. Answers to most of the questions were at my finger-ends. My fears were allayed. My heart beat normally. I set to work in right earnest. I finished three questions in one hour.

Now some boys, who had shirked their studies during the year, began to whisper and look sideways. The supervisor administered them a severe warning but a few of them did not seem to need it. At last one of them was turned out of the hall.

This had a salutary effect on others. Calm was restored. I noticed two boys exchanging notes and copying from books in their possession. They seemed to be very daring indeed. But they escaped all notice.

I went on with my work. One by one, I managed to answer satisfactorily all the questions required. I had done very well. I was full of hope. My eyes gleamed. All my fears were gone. I revised my answers twice.

When the time was over, I handed over my answer- book to the supervisor and came out of the hall. I met my friends and asked them how they had fared in the examination.

Whenever I think of the sleepless nights before the examination, I still tremble and shudder. The fear of the examination is still embedded in my heart.

Essay on “My first Day in an Examination Hall” Complete Essay for Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation and other classes.

My first Day in an Examination Hall.

It was Friday the Fist of March; It was the first day of my examination. I was to appear in English Paper A. So, I got up early in the morning. I had my breakfast, touched the feet of my father and mother and got up early in the morning. I had my breakfast, touched the feet of my father and mother and got their blessings. I saw some of the boys were having The Shining Way To- English Paper I, and other pocket books, They were revising and cramming the expected essays and letters. Everybody had a pen and an ink pot in his hand.

The bell rang. The examinees went in. The superintendent read out the instructions and asked us all to take out the help books from our pockets and leave them ion the stage. ‘Some of the students took out the help books and surrendered them to the Superintendent.

It was now exact nine. Answer books with a piece of blotting paper were distributed to all of us. There was now pin drop silence. We were going through the question paper and marking which questions were to be attempted first.

I read the question paper twice. I had divided the time for solving the questions: a longer period for longer questions and shorter period for shorter questions. I began to solve the questions. I finished the whole of the paper half an hour before. The superintendent was announcing the time after every half an hour.

When Looked around me I found that some of my class fellows were perturbed. Probably they could not finish the paper by that time. The school compound was covered with a beautiful shamiana. It was tastefully decorated with buntings and balloons. A stage was set up for speeches and cultural programmed. Under the shamiana, tables and seats were arranged for the students and teachers. I could not help thinking” “Action is thy duty, reward is not they concern”.

Long Essay on My Experience In The Examination Hall 500 Words for Kids and Students in English

It is interesting to pen a few lines on the experience that I had in the examination hall. I was appearing for the first time for my 10th boards. I read a lot on the night preceding the examination day. I revised my entire course.

Though my father warned me against the consequences of studying late in the night, unfortunately I did not pay any heed to his advice. I reached the examination hall on right time. As I was climbing the stairs, the first bell rang. I rushed to the hall and searched for the seat that was supposed to have my roll number.

My Experience In The Examination Hall Essay

Within five minutes, all the examinees took their respective seats. My heart was beating fast. I began to feel nervous. The superintendent of the examination read out instructions aloud to the students. He warned the examinees against keeping any objectionable papers or notebooks in their pockets during the examination hour. However, the examinees were allowed to retain their money, bus passes and admission tickets. The superintendent also warned the candidates against using their mobile phones or any other electronic devices.

He then broke the official seal of the envelope containing the question papers. At this time, there was pin-drop silence in the hall. I became all the more nervous. Then, the supervisors distributed the question papers to the examinees. As I received the question paper, I got confused. I began to read it but could not understand the questions. I made a second attempt at reading the questions.

This time, I understood all the questions and some of them seemed to be easy to me. Other examinees were seen looking hither and thither. Some of them were busy in writing while others were gazing at the ceiling of the examination hall. Some were trying to whisper and talk. An examinee was found copying from another one and the supervisor pointed his accusing finger at them. Both were expelled from the hall. This was a stern warning to others who were trying to copy.

As the first bell rang, I had already started solving the questions. I did the easy questions first and then attempted the difficult ones. After some time, one examinee fell off from his seat, as he was not well. He became unconscious. Attention was diverted towards him. Soon, the doctor came and gave him medical aid. He came to his senses but the doctor advised him not to exert any more. So he left the examination hall without completing his paper.

There was another bell. Now, only half an hour was left. I completed my paper and revised the entire answer sheet. While revising I corrected the mistakes that I had carelessly made. I tied all the extra-sheets to my main answer book. Then there was the last and final bell. The superintendent of the hall announced that no one should write anything from that moment onwards.

Soon the invigilators collected the answer books. I was feeling tired at that time. Finally I came out of the examination hall. This interesting and unique experience shall always be remembered and recollected by me in my life. I learnt a lot about the precautions to be taken and instructions to be followed during the period of examination.

26. Describing an Event : HOW I FELT WHEN I REACHED THE EXAMINATION HALL LATE

HOW I FELT WHEN I REACHED THE EXAMINATION HALL LATE

Write a Paragraph in about 100-150 words on the following topic:-

Ans:                             HOW I FELT WHEN I REACHED THE EXAMINATION HALL LATE

On 1st March, I set out of my house for taking my examination. It was the paper of English on that day. I went to the bus stand to catch the local bus. But due to rain, the Ideal buses were not running on that day. I took a three-wheeler and asked the driver to rush me to the examination centre. But unluckily, a tyre of the three-wheeler got burst on the way. I was worried as the time for the examination was drawing near. Luckily, I saw one of my friends going on a cycle. I asked him to give me a lift. He agreed, and I sat behind him on the bicycle. But the examination centre was far away. He tried his best but I reached the examination hall half an hour late. The examination had already started. Tears came into my eyes. But the Superintendent was a kind man. He told me not to worry and admitted me to the examination hall. His kind words gave me courage and I started writing my answers. I fared well in the examination. I will always remain indebted to that kind of superintendent.

Essay on My Exams

Students are often asked to write an essay on My Exams in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on My Exams

Introduction.

Exams are an integral part of our academic journey. They are a measure of our understanding, knowledge, and skills.

The Importance of Exams

Exams play a crucial role in assessing our learning. They help us to review and recall what we’ve studied.

Preparing for Exams

Preparing for exams requires discipline and hard work. Regular study, revision, and practice can lead to success.

Exams and Stress

Exams can cause stress, but with proper planning and time management, we can reduce it.

Exams, though challenging, are necessary for our academic growth. They teach us valuable skills like discipline, time management, and perseverance.

250 Words Essay on My Exams

Examinations, or exams, have long been a rite of passage in the academic journey. They are typically perceived as a method to assess our understanding and knowledge of a particular subject. However, they carry far more significance than just a tool for evaluation.

Exams serve as a metric that gauges our ability to absorb, process, and apply the information we’ve learned. They provide an objective means of comparing our understanding with our peers, enabling institutions to maintain academic standards. Yet, the importance of exams goes beyond the academic realm. They also foster critical life skills such as time management, stress management, and problem-solving.

The Pressure of Exams

Despite their importance, exams often come with a significant amount of stress and anxiety. The pressure to perform well can be overwhelming, leading to adverse effects on students’ mental health. It’s crucial to balance the need for academic achievement with the importance of maintaining a healthy mind and body.

Exams as a Learning Opportunity

Rather than viewing exams as a source of stress, we should see them as opportunities for growth and self-improvement. They encourage us to delve deeper into our subjects, promoting a greater understanding and appreciation of the material.

In conclusion, exams are more than just a measure of academic success. They are a stepping stone to developing vital life skills and a deeper understanding of our studies. By shifting our perspective, we can transform the exam experience from a source of stress to a valuable learning opportunity.

500 Words Essay on My Exams

Exams, a term that evokes a myriad of emotions in students. For some, it’s a challenge to conquer, for others, it’s a mountain to climb. Regardless of the perspective, exams remain an integral part of our educational system, a tool for assessing knowledge and understanding. This essay aims to delve into the significance, challenges, and tactics associated with exams.

The Purpose and Significance of Exams

Exams serve as a yardstick to measure a student’s comprehension of a subject. They are designed to test not only the retention of knowledge but also the ability to apply it in different contexts. Exams encourage students to review and integrate what they have learned, fostering an in-depth understanding of the subject matter. Additionally, they instill discipline, as they require a significant amount of preparation and time management.

The Challenges of Exams

Despite their benefits, exams can pose several challenges. The pressure to perform can lead to stress and anxiety, often detracting from a student’s ability to demonstrate their knowledge effectively. Moreover, exams often emphasize memorization over critical thinking, which can limit the development of problem-solving skills. Furthermore, the conventional exam structure may not cater to diverse learning styles, potentially disadvantaging some students.

Effective Preparation for Exams

Effective exam preparation is a skill that can be honed over time. It involves understanding the exam format and requirements, planning a study schedule, and utilizing appropriate study techniques. These may include active recall, spaced repetition, and interleaved practice. It’s crucial to maintain a balanced lifestyle during exam periods, with adequate sleep, nutrition, and physical activity to optimize cognitive function.

Exams as a Learning Experience

Exams should not be viewed merely as hurdles to overcome, but as opportunities for learning. They can provide valuable feedback on areas of strength and those requiring improvement, guiding further learning. They can also foster resilience and adaptability, as students navigate the challenges of exam preparation and performance.

Exams, while often daunting, are an essential part of our educational journey. They serve as a gauge of understanding, encouraging deep learning and discipline. Despite their challenges, exams can be tackled effectively with appropriate preparation strategies and a positive mindset. Ultimately, exams are not just about grades, but about the process of learning itself, and the skills and attitudes developed along the way.

The key to managing exams lies not in the fear of failure, but in embracing them as stepping stones towards academic growth and personal development. As we continue to evolve our educational systems, it’s crucial to ensure that exams remain a fair and effective tool for assessment, fostering a love for learning and a drive for excellence.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.
