Introduction

Department of English, AIOU aspires to lead in academic and research fields in the critically vital streams of English literature and linguistics. BS English (Language and Literature) Program (Programme Code: 0465) BS English Program, offered in autumn 2019 offered for the first, aims to provide basic education and training to young learners in English language literature and linguistics. With an objective to equip them with mandatory research skills, BS English will enable learners address issues related to Pakistani literature in English in general and ELT practices in particular.

• to provide basic, education and training to young learners of English literature and linguistics.
• to equip the learners with mandatory research skills required to accomplish higher education goals.
• to develop critical thinking and analytical skills of the learners. 
• to establish, strengthen and promote research culture in the country.

An applicant having intermediate/higher secondary school pass certificate or equivalent in second division (at least 45% marks) in any discipline from any recognized institution is eligible to apply for admission.
