The path to your first job starts as soon as your academic journey. Make sure you’re on the right one at every step along the way.

• Make an appointment to visit your academic advisor
• Make an appointment with a Career Advisor at Career & Talent Development or see them during their drop-in hours !
• Join a student or professional organization
• Join Panther2PantherMentorCollective and get paired with a mentor
• Workshops hosted by CTD & CASE Career
• Career & Internship Fairs
• Complete the Panther Career Readiness Module within your first semester
• Create Handshake , Panther Connect & LinkedIn account
• Utilize VMock Smart Resume Platform to create and enhance your resume online
• Make an appointment with your academic advisor and inquire about internship class credit
• Review with your academic advisor electives to take to help enhance skills in your career interest
• Join a Student Organizations
• Volunteering at events
• Attend professors office hours & create a relationship with them to learn about career options
• Attend a minimum of 2 Career & Talent Development workshops, and both Career & Internship Fairs
• Attend a minimum of 2 CASE Career workshops

• Network with peers & create meaningful connections that may lead to employment

• Attend both Career & Internship Fairs and Mock Interviewing through Career & Talent Development
• Develop mentorships with professionals by attending workshops or networking events
• Obtain recommendation letters/ references from professionals and professors
• Join an organization in your area of interest and obtain a leadership role
• Research your "Top 3" graduate school programs
• Create a parallel career plan for post-graduation
• Have your resume and cover letters critiqued by a Career Advisor at Career & Talent Development
• Review and research jobs on Handshake and LinkedIn accounts
• Schedule informational interviews with professionals in roles that you see yourself in
• Speak to employers during Career Fair and/or graduate school representatives at the Graduate School Fair
• Attend "Putting Your Degree to Work", "Preparing for Graduate School", & "Preparing for the Workforce" webinars by CASE Career
• Attend the "Interviewing Skills" workshop and Career/Graduate School Fair hosted by Career & Talent Development
• Organize your job search (create a list of employers, send resumes, and practice mock interviewing with Career & Talent Development)
• Organize your graduate school search. Create a spreadsheet with the following: deadlines, application materials, requirements
• Start attending alumni career readiness programming
