There are many ways through which one can quit smoking. The first one is preparing for the day when you will quit. It is not easy to quit a habit abruptly, so set a date to give yourself time to prepare mentally.

Further, you can also use NRTs for your nicotine dependence. They can reduce your craving and withdrawal symptoms. NRTs like skin patches, chewing gums, lozenges, nasal spray and inhalers can help greatly.

Moreover, you can also consider non-nicotine medications. They require a prescription so it is essential to talk to your doctor to get access to it. Most importantly, seek behavioural support. To tackle your dependence on nicotine, it is essential to get counselling services, self-materials or more to get through this phase.

One can also try alternative therapies if they want to try them. There is no harm in trying as long as you are determined to quit smoking. For instance, filters, smoking deterrents, e-cigarettes, acupuncture, cold laser therapy, yoga and more can work for some people.

Always remember that you cannot quit smoking instantly as it will be bad for you as well. Try cutting down on it and then slowly and steadily give it up altogether.

Best Problem Solution Essay Examples

Problem and solution: smoking in public.

243 words | 1 page(s)

I will address smoking in public. Smoking in public is a nuisance, and it has been proven that second hand smoke causes cancer. Therefore, smoking in public is a safety issue as it promotes poor health, cancer, and contributes to other diseases. Since smoking in public may affect everyone, it’s an issue that affects everyone. Since children, pregnant women, and elderly people may be exposed to smoking in public, the issue because one of increasing safety against these disease.

My solution, as has been done in many other states, is to ban outdoor smoking except in designated areas. Many states such as Ohio, and other countries such as New Zealand, have banned smoking in public because of the aforementioned health risks and issues. I will petition local government to take such risks into consideration when banning smoking in public places including outdoor places such as parks where children frequent, as well as banning smoking in restaurants and bars. I believe restaurants and bars should have to seek a special permit in order to allow smoking in their establishment the same as seeking out a liquor license.

Since people have to be of a certain age to imbibe alcohol, and to be present in a bar, then where children under 18 years of age frequent, such as restaurants, should not allow smoking. I image the public will vote for such a ban on the local and perhaps the state level considering the health risks involved.
