Biography [ ]

She was born on October 31st, 1992 in a small town in the Minnesota called Devil's Kettle . She became best friends with a girl named Anita Lesnicki at a young age. As they grew up together, Jennifer Gracie became the popular girl, whereas Anita became the quieter one and was even nicknamed 'Needy' by many kids.

On February 18th, 2008, they went to Melody Lane where a band group called Low Shoulder was performing. The lead singer, Nikolai Wolf, was interested in Jennifer only because he suspected she's a virgin. Unbeknownst to her or anyone, the group were actually Satanists and were looking for a virgin to sacrifice to Satan so they could become rich and famous. As they were playing, the bar mysteriously caught on fire, completely annihilating it and killing almost everybody.

After Needy and Jennifer Gracie got out of the bar, Low Shoulder took a shocked Jennifer into their van. While Jennifer was in their van, she saw occult books and various satanic items that scared her. Once they drove into the woods, Jennifer unsuccessfully tried to escape. They forced her onto the ground, and tied her up and performed a chant before brutally stabbing Jennifer to death. Unbeknownst to the band, Jennifer was not a virgin. Instead of dying, she turned into a demon and gained superhuman abilities, speed, seduction, beauty and immortality. There was one catch, as she would forever feast on human (particularly young male) flesh to maintain her eternal youth or else she would decay and die. As Needy was about to exit the kitchen, she saw Jennifer drenched in blood, having been stabbed, and sensed something awful had happened to Jennifer. When she walked towards the fridge and tried to eat some food, Jennifer growled at Needy and then vomited a trail of "black ferromagnetic fluid" which seemed almost alive for a short time before leaving Needy's home. Jennifer went on to kill 3 teenage boys ​(Jonas, Colin, and Ahmet).

On April 18th, As Needy was at the prom looking for Jennifer, Jennifer was seducing Needy's boyfriend, Chip. She lied to him saying that Needy cheated on him with Colin. He almost believed her but because of his love for Needy, Chip decided not to be with Jennifer, though she attacked Chip at the abandoned pool and killed him.

Her Death and Legacy [ ]

Just as Needy arrived at the scene she found Jennifer feeding on Chip's neck. After a verbal exchange, Jennifer tried to kill Needy. However, Chip stabbed Jennifer with a pool skimmer. When Jennifer left, Needy tried calling a doctor, but no reception. After Chip said his last words he died in Needy's arms as she mourned his death.

Back at Jennifer's house, Jennifer was marking her next victim in her Devil's Kettel yearbook. Needy broke through the window, screaming "You killed my boyfriend!" and a fight to the death ensued. As they were both fighting/struggling on Jennifer's bed, she bit Needy in the neck injecting some of her powers into her. Needy would use the box-cutter and mark an X on Jennifer's stomach which made her mad and caused them to fight each other in midair. As they were fighting, Needy glared at the BFF necklace that she gave Jennifer when they were kids and took it off her neck, which shocked Jennifer and gave Needy a chance to kill Jennifer for killing her boyfriend and stop her reign of terror. She died on April 19th, 2008, at 1-2A.M

Jennifer dead end

After Jennifer was stabbed in the heart by her best friend, Jennifer's mom came in to check on Jennifer but found Needy on top of her daughter with the knife still impaled in her heart and then called the police. Needy was sent to an asylum for the criminally insane and while she was there she found out that if you're bitten by a demon and you live, you get the same powers. She later hovered to the cell window and broke out of the asylum. As she was walking, she found the knife that the band used to sacrifice Jennifer on the side of the road. She tracked down the band, Low Shoulder, who was responsible for Jennifer's demonic possession and the deaths it's caused. She avenged Jennifer and her victims by killing them with the same weapon they had used to sacrifice Jennifer.

Physical Appearance [ ]

Jennifer is an incredibly beautiful teenage girl of average height (5'4", 163 cm) and slim but toned figure and appears to have rounded and perky chest and sculpted stomach. She has long thick voluminous black hair that reaches below her chest and sometimes it’s wavy and sometimes it’s straight. She also has perfectly arched eyebrows, pale skin with little to no blemishes, shiny sapphire blue eyes and full lips which appears to have pink lip gloss on them. Her wardrobe is girly and colorful and cute clothes but comfy jackets or cardigans as it’s cold in Devil’s Kettle with accessories and high heels and sometimes her cheerleader uniform and also wears hot pink nail polish on all her fingers except her middle fingers which are painted black.

Personality [ ]

Jennifer was a popular girl and often got asked out by boys. Though she can be ignorant and insensitive at times (as shown when she pushes Needy harshly onto her door/when she tells Needy to "blow off" her date with Chip, and guilt trips her when Needy originally refuses), she also deeply cares for them, especially towards Needy, her best and only friend. During her Succubus hunger, she stopped herself from feasting on Needy and instead ran away from her.

According to Needy, Jennifer lost her virginity in 8th grade, which put her at 13 or 14 years old. The specifics are not known. Jennifer also mentions that she's having an affair with a police cadet (Officer Roman Duda).

It’s possible that the infatuation Needy had for her was mutual as at one point Jennifer initiated a kiss between them.

Jennifer prioritized her looks, as Needy pointed out that Jennifer took laxatives to ensure she didn't gain weight.

Powers and Abilities [ ]

As human, Jennifer has exceptional beauty and capable in seducing boys. But after her sacrifice for Satan ended up went wrong, she gained demonic powers due to being possessed by a succubus. The following powers and abilities that she has includes:

• Seduction : Jennifer demonstrates remarkable skills in seducing boys. These abilities are still retained even after becoming the host of a succubus, which later becomes one of her weapons in seeking out more prey.
• Superhuman Strength: Jennifer was strong enough to kill teenage boys who are bigger than her.
• Superhuman Speed: When Needy got in her car, Jennifer jumped on her windshield in front of her after she murdered Colin.
• Nigh-Immortality: Jennifer was granted immortality as seen when Chip impaled her through the stomach with a pool skimmer, but she survived.
• Levitation: Jennifer can levitate and hover her body off into the air.
• Eternal Youth: Upon being possessed, Jennifer was given eternal youth so that she would remain beautiful.
• Regeneration: Jennifer can regenerate from any injury, she recovered from being impaled through the stomach, having her tongue burned and having her arm cut with a needle.
• Pain Immunity: Jennifer shows no signs of feeling any physical pain, it could be associated with her regeneration ability.
• Conversion: Needy stated if anyone gets bitten by a demon and live, they obtain some of their occult powers. Needy was the first and only example of this.

Megan Fox was at the height of her career in 2009. Fans worldwide fell for her womanly wiles after her starring role in 2007's Transformers . Her sexual appeal is what made her ideal for the role of Jennifer Check in Diablo Cody's sophomore film Jennifer's Body . Pairing her with Amanda Seyfried, along with strategic marketing, was a formula for success. Unfortunately, Jennifer's Body wasn't what audiences expected, resulting in poor reviews and an underwhelming box office performance.

Diablo Cody's first writing credit was the critically acclaimed Juno , which earned her an Oscar. Jennifer's Body , while maintaining the same kind of clever wit and comedy, branches into the horror genre and has since become a cult classic. It's a coming-of-age story that follows a pair of girls in high school undergoing challenges that no other high schooler has ever encountered. With Cody returning to the horror-comedy with Lisa Frankenstein , it's time to look back at her first entry into the genre.

Why Jennifer's Body Deserves A TV Reboot

Jennifer's Body follows Anita "Needy" Lesnicki (Amanda Seyfried) and her best friend Jennifer Check (Megan Fox). The two couldn't be more different, with Needy being a band nerd on the lower end of the high school's hierarchy and Jennifer being near the top as a gorgeous cheerleader. However, there are clear signs that their friendship might be more one-sided than Needy would like to admit, as she allows Jennifer to convince her to do whatever she (Jennifer) wants. The first instance of this is when Jennifer wants to see the band Low Shoulder live, talking Needy into ditching her boyfriend.

The band plays at a small dive bar that looks like duct tape, hopes, and dreams are holding it together. Jennifer gravitates toward the lead singer, played by The O.C.'s Adam Brody , who wastes no time in discussing her virginity with his bandmates the moment she's out of earshot. When the band starts playing their music, the bar goes up in flames. Needy and Jennifer escape through a bathroom window and are instantly met by the lead singer, who is casually drinking a cocktail.

Entranced by the musician, Jennifer hops into his van, where the rest of the band waits. Needy, who hasn't trusted the indy band since they arrived, tries to talk Jennifer out of the van, but to no avail. The next time Needy sees her best friend is later that night in Needy's kitchen, but something is clearly off about Jennifer. She's covered in blood and vomits up black tar.

The next day, Jennifer seems back to normal(ish) with more energy and practically glowing skin. However, there's something off about her, which Needy recognizes immediately. While the rest of the school and town are mourning the loss of those who perished in the bar fire, Jennifer cracks jokes and shows zero sympathy. To make matters worse, male students from the school start dying off one by one, seemingly by a cannibal , as they're eviscerated and missing organs.

After the death of one of Needy's friends, Jennifer divulges the truth to her. When she left the charred remains of the bar with Low Shoulder, they took her out to the woods beside a waterfall. Brody's character, Niolai Wolf, explains the difficulties indy bands face trying to grow in popularity since they're a dime a dozen. They decided to turn to Satan because that's reasonable, to make them famous. This meant they had to sacrifice a virgin and Jennifer was their sacrifice.

However, unbeknownst to the band, Jennifer was not a virgin. While this wouldn't have any direct effect on the band and their ritual, it would keep Jennifer from staying dead permanently. When Needy learns about the ritual, she finds the small occult section in her school library and does some reading.

There, she learns that if the sacrifice is made without a virgin, the human sacrifice will be inhabited by a demon that relies on survival through human flesh. When Jennifer is freshly fed, she looks her best, and she's invulnerable. However, when she needs to feed again, she's at her weakest and susceptible to attacks.

Needy resolves to stop Jennifer from killing anyone else and goes to a school dance to keep an eye on her. However, Jennifer targets Chip ( Johnny Simmons ), Needy's boyfriend, and intercepts him before he gets to the dance, bringing him to an abandoned indoor pool where she can feed on him in peace. Needy intervenes while Jennifer is biting into Chip's neck, but before she can finish him off. Chip manages to impale Jennifer with the handle of a broken pool net but misses her heart, giving her a chance to escape.

When Chip dies in Needy's arms, she decides to end Jennifer's reign of terror once and for all. She finds Jennifer at home in bed and attacks her with a box cutter. They struggle briefly, with Jennifer biting Needy on the shoulder, but Needy ultimately stabs her BFF in the heart just in time for Jennifer's mom to walk in and misinterpret the whole situation. This lands Needy in a psychiatric clinic , where she's no longer the permissive, nerdy teenage girl everybody knew her as.

Needy is not only more confident and aggressive, becoming known as a "kicker" amongst the orderlies, but she also has some new gifts. By surviving a bite from the demonic Jennifer, a form of transference took place and gave Needy all of the same abilities Jennifer had (flight, invulnerability, and rapid healing) without the need to feed on human flesh. She uses these abilities to escape and hunt down Low Shoulder for everything they caused. During the ending credits, the band is enjoying their fame with drugs and alcohol in a hotel room, only for Needy to interrupt them and brutally murder each of them.

Above all else, Jennifer's Body was a commentary on how society views the female body. The band obsesses over Jennifer's virginity much in the same way MTV and other media outlets fetishized the virginity of Britney Spears , Christina Aguilera, and Jessica Simpson. The film flips this viewpoint on its head by having Jennifer's sexuality empower her.

It's her sexuality that saves her from death. Even the studio marketed the film toward heterosexual men, highlighting Megan Fox's sexual appeal and a shared kiss with Amanda Seyfried. Moviegoers had their expectations subverted, leading to a barrage of poor reviews across the internet since the writer and director clearly geared the film for a different audience.

Jennifer's Body scribe Diablo Cody returns to the horror-comedy genre with Lisa Frankenstein , a modernization of Mary Shelley's 1818 horror classic Frankenstein . It's a film set in the '80s that examines the experiences of a high school girl. Having a high school setting isn't the only similarity Lisa Frankenstein shares with Jennifer's Body . Cody told Deadline that the two horror films occur in the same universe.

She goes to Jennifer's home and sees Jennifer picking out her next victims in her yearbook. Crashing through the window, Needy fights Jennifer with a box cutter. Culminating with a stab to the heart, Needy finally destroys the demon and kills her. Jennifer's mother (Carrie Genzel) comes in and finds Needy with the utility knife on top of her daughter's body. Soon after, Needy is brought to an asylum. Since she was scratched by Jennifer, she has obtained some of Jennifer's supernatural powers. Set upon revenge for what was done to Jennifer and herself, she escapes the mental facility and hitchhikes a ride to the hotel where Low Shoulder are staying; she then brutally murders them all.
