IGNOU Grade Card 2023 - Indira Gandhi National Open University will publish IGNOU grade card 2023 Dec session in January in online mode. Students can find both their term end exam and practical/ assignment marks on their IGNOU grade card. Total marks obtained by the students in their IGNOU Grade Card June 2023 will consist of two factors: 70% marks from written exams and 30% marks from practical papers. The IGNOU conducts its Term End Exams (TEE) in two parts: June TEE and December TEE. The IGNOU grading table 2023 is a way for students to understand their grades based on IGNOU grade card percentage. It also reflects the qualitative level and point grade of IGNOU students.

The IGNOU grade card calculator is based on a chart that assists in grading students. The total scores of the students, according to the IGNOU percentage calculator, are total of 30% of the total points scored in the assignment and 70% of the total marks achieved in term-end exams. Students' grades are calculated using the IGNOU marks calculator based on their term end and practical marks.

Candidates can calculate the percentage of marks obtained by using this simple formula:

If a student gets 70 marks in term-end examinations, then the candidate will be awarded 49 marks.

If a student gets 30 marks in assignments, then the candidate will be awarded 9 marks.

So the total marks will end up being (49 + 9) = 58.

Now the students need to add marks of all the subjects and divide it by 1200, in order to get the percentage of marks.

Grading is used in some programs, such as PGDET, MBA(MP), B.Ed and MAEDU whereas marking is used in others. To assess its students, IGNOU uses both grading (A, B, C, D, E) and marking (60, 70 etc.) methods.

A revaluation fee of Rs 750 per course must be paid online (via debit card, credit card, or net banking). During the application, candidates are required to provide the course code for the subject they wish to have re-evaluated, along with the original marks obtained. To learn how to calculate IGNOU percentage, follow these steps:

Identify the weightage : The grades in IGNOU Grade Card June 2023 are determined based on the weightage of Assignment Marks (30%) and Term End Theory Exam Marks (70%).
Example calculation : Let's consider a course/paper called BPCC-134. Suppose you scored 90 marks in the assignment and 80 marks in the theory test.
Calculate the assignment weightage : Multiply the assignment marks by 30%. In this case, 30% of 90 marks is 27.
Calculate the theory exam weightage : Multiply the theory exam marks by 70%. In this case, 70% of 80 marks is 56.
Add the marks : Add the assignment weightage and the theory exam weightage. In this case, 27 + 56 equals 83 marks.
Determine the percentage : The percentage for the BPCC-134 paper is 83%.
Repeat the process : Calculate the percentage for each paper in a similar manner, and then calculate your overall passing percentage.

Note : It is important to focus on scoring maximum marks in assignments, as they contribute significantly to your overall IGNOU grade card percentage.

The Grade Card provides information about the result and IGNOU grade card status of each Course Code (e.g., BESC 133, BCOS 132, BEGLA 138, etc.). When a row displays the status " COMPLETED, " it signifies that the learner has successfully finished that particular course code. Conversely, a row may have the status " NOT COMPLETED " due to various reasons, including:

What is the difference between ignou grade card and result.

Compared to an IGNOU result, an IGNOU grade card provides the completion status along with the assignment, theoretical, and practical score. Division and Grade are included in the IGNOU results in addition to results from term-end exams. The mark sheet is therefore utilised as a future reference.

IGNOU Revaluation Process

According to IGNOU, individuals have to submit revaluation applications and fees for each course within one month of the results release. Within 45 days of the result declaration, students must pay Rs 100 to receive a photocopy of their answer sheets. Candidates may request reevaluation for a number of programmes. IGNOU grade card status not updated is a very common question for every learner. Nowadays students are struggling to get their complete marks.

What is an IGNOU Grade Card status ?

It is an online platform that students can use to view their academic performance, such as marks earned in assignments, term-end exams, practical , and projects.

It is a tool provided by the university to help students keep track of their academic result and evaluate their progress.

Grade card not completed means your Assignment/Theory/practical are not updated on the portal while checking the marks students may encounter some common issues, which are mentioned below.

Assignment record not updated.

Students submitted their TMA offline/online, but the study center did not send the data to the regional office. If they do not update your record on the Dashboard, the portal will be displayed, not completed .

Ensure you have submitted within the time and have the acknowledgment receipt or proof of submission.

Students submit their TMA without finishing all questions, so the study center gives them the lower score, which is less than the passing marks, and the status of your IGNOU final grade card will be “not completed.

Theory marks are less than the minimum passing requirement.

Feature of IGNOU student Grade card 2023

It provides a detailed breakdown of student’s performance in their courses.

Enrolment Details: This section includes the student’s personal information, such as their name, enrollment number, programme code, etc.

Course Code : Each course taken by the student is available in this section. It summarizes the courses completed or are in progress.

Assignment result : The IGNOU Grade Card displays the marks of the student in the assignments for each course.

Term-end Examination : This section includes the number got in the theory for each course. The university conducts exams in June and December.

Practical/Project/Internship result: This section displays the score achieved by the student in practical exams, projects, or internships.

Status: This column provides remarks and status information, i.e., “Completed,” “Not completed”.

Grading system

Universities use a 10 point grading system as per university grant commission -CBCS guidelines for Bachelor Degree Programmes.

Passing criteria

Minimum passing marks in IGNOU out of 50 is 18 for bachelor’s degree and 20 for master’s degree students.

Out of 100 is 35 for bachelor’s degree and 40 for master’s students.

Note -However, it’s important to note that the passing criteria may vary for certain courses or programs.

Fact about IGNOU Results

Have you ever noticed BEGAE182 and BEVAE181 subject? I have something interesting to share.

Both the number show differently in the grade report and result portal?

University calculated the marks for each subject differently on the IGNOU grade card status and the result portal, since both papers are 50.

For example, if you got 30 on the BEVAE181 result panel, the university would calculate from 100 to get 60 on the portal.

My recent experiences with IGNOU grade card status 2023

What is IGNOU Grade Card ? IGNOU Grade card is considered as the Marksheet of student which shows the Assignment/ Practical/ Theory/ Project marks/ Grade in a consolidated form, this status can be checked online at University website. Online IGNOU Grade Card Status consists of Assignment Mark, Results (Marks) of Theory Examination, Practical Marks (If applicable to subject) and Project Marks (If applicable to programme).

In IGNOU Grade Card, status is displayed in the percentage format. Once the IGNOU Result is published, it may take few days to show the mark/ grade in the Grade Card status electronically. Now a days IGNOU send the printed Grade Card/ Mark sheet after the successfully completion of entire programme. Recently in Year 2022 IGNOU has changed the format of grade card and has added the emblem of "A++ Certification of NAAC" and changed the layout too.

IGNOU Grade card is updated on FCFS (First Come First Serve) basis by the IGNOU SED. IGNOU Grade card is designed either in Grading evaluation System or in Marking evaluation system. For a programme which is based on Grading system (A, B, C, D, E) and instead of grade if numerical marks is received from evaluator then it is converted into Grading architecture and then is put in Grade card.

The Assignment marks, theory exam marks, practical exam marks etc are updated as and when it is received from Study Center, Regional Evaluation Center, Regional Center respectively. It contains percentage of mark obtained by student for Programme having Mark Evaluation System. Re-evaluation link has been opened for the June 2023 Learners. What programmes have Grading System in IGNOU ? In letter grading system, the level of performance is judged in terms of "Letter Grade" i.e., A, B, C, D or E depending on the performance of the students. Many MP ( Management Programme ) students are confused about the minimum passing percentage combination of assignment and theory in online IGNOU grade card . It is informed that Garde A in Assignment and Garde D in Theory combination is minimum passing percentage for Management Programme (MP).

For BTS programme for foundation courses: in the grade card status minimum marks required for passing is 35%.

The University does not issue year-wise or semester-wise Grade Card or Statement of Marks but issues a comprehensive Grade Card/ Statement of Marks after successful completion of the programme.

Know why your grade card is showing Not Completed ? Sometimes student may see the “ Not Completed status ” in grade card for one or several papers. Student need not worry about that. Student should be able to understand the reason for such incomplete status. The reason may be non-submission of assignment, or not writing theory exam or practical exam etc. But if you have submitted assignment and still not reflecting then you can wait for some time, still if the condition persist same then you may contact your study centre.

IGNOU Grade Card - New Format from year 2022 onwards

How to Understand format of IGNOU Grade card ? Standard format of IGNOU Grade Card consists of mainly 4 component in it. These are 1.Assignment Component. To Know more about assignment visit " Assignment " menu. 2.Practical / Lab Component 3.Project / Dissertation Component. 4.Theory Term End Exam result Component. Some programme may have only Theory and Practical while some may have Project/ Dissertation also, which can be confirmed from its Programme guide.

Apart from above academic credential the IGNOU grade card displays the name of student, enrollment number and programme code. In the grade card the course code (as per the admission) is added as and when student write the term end examination. For the newly admitted student grade card is not generated untill She/ he submits assignment or write exam.

• Any component which is not applicable to the programme is left as BLANK in the grade card. • Passing percentage differs from programme to programme, refer your programme guide. • Generally the passing percentage* is 40% in each component. *For some course passing percentage is 35%.

What is the meaning of "COMPLETED" in IGNOU grade card? In Grade Card each row shows the result and status of a Course Code (eg BCS12, ESO5, BSHF101 etc) . If the status of a row is “COMPLETED” it means that particular course code is successfully completed by learner. If the status of a row is “NOT COMPLETED” it can have any of below reasons •Assignment mark/ grade is missing. •Theory TEE result mark is missing. •Term End Practical mark is missing (if applicable to that course). •Obtained failed mark in Assignment/ Theory/ Practical/ Project.

What is IGNOU Grading and Marking Scheme ? The level of performance may be judged in terms of " Letter Grade " i.e., A, B, C, D or E depending on the performance of the students. IGNOU follows both Grading (A,B,C,D,E) and Marking ( 60, 70 etc any numerical figure) system to assess its learner depending on the programme. How to Calculate Percentage in IGNOU Grade Card ? Percentage is calculated in IGNOU Grade Card based on weightage of Assignment Marks and Term End Theory Exam marks . Assignment has weightage of 30% and Term End Theory Exam has 70% weightage. Below is the manual method to calculate your IGNOU percentage also you can click here for readymade calculator. Method Explained with example: Suppose You have a Course/Paper named as FST-01 and You have scored 80 marks in Assignment and 60 marks in Theory exam. Calculation : Step 1: Take the marks of first column which contains assignment marks. Now calculate 30% of it. 30% of 80 Marks = 24 Marks . Step 2 : Take the marks of “Term End Theory” from the second last column, Now calculate 70% of it. 70% of 60 Marks = 42 Marks. Step 3 : Add both above marks , that is 24 + 42 = 66 Marks. Hence your percentage for FST 01 Paper will be 66%. Similarly, You can calculate for each paper and finally you can find out your overall passing Percentage. Note : Please pay attention toward assignment and try to score maximum marks in Assignment as it will help to fetch overall good percentage.

Any UG or PG student who has completed the first year exam can apply for re-registration (RR). student who has missed to write Term End Exam can refer the guidelines for the same.

IGNOU Grade Card 2023 Live Updates

IGNOU has now officially announced and updated its grade card status for session December 2023 so candidates are advised to check their grade card on a regular basis if they appeared in the month of December & January 2024 for TEE December examination of IGNOU. IGNOU TEE December 2023 is now running and the updating of the IGNOU grade card is now started by the university on its scheduled dates.

We will be updating our students on any news and announcement made by the university regarding the grade card of TEE Dec 2023. If you had applied for the Early Declaration then you may check your updated grade card for the session Dec 2023 from the same section.

IGNOU Grade Card Release Date 2023

IGNOU Grade Card for the session December 2023 was expected to start updating on or after 13th January 2023 but it was officially started to update from 26th December 2023 as a first update. The grade card will be updated frequently so keep checking your grade card regularly to get the status of all your subjects.

Candidates will be able to check or download their grade cards for Dec 2023 as well as the earlier session from the given link. IGNOU Grade Card will be uploaded here to explore and download by all IGNOU students. IGNOU Grade Card Status is updating at regular intervals so keep checking your score-card to get new updates. Choose an appropriate program from the available options and explore your report card.

List of IGNOU Grade Card 2023

IGNOU Grade Card is a performance report which includes theory marks, practical marks, assignment marks, and project marks (if applicable) of all your subject so you can get everything about your program and report in one place. In this way, you can check the result of your hard work and writing skills in your selected course.

You can also find the complete marking of all subjects on the IGNOU Result 2023 page. On the Result page, you will get marks for each subject of your selected program from IGNOU University. Candidates have to click on a suitable link from the following to check and download their grade card of IGNOU.

Update – The IGNOU Grade Card was last updated in the month of March 2024 for the TEE session December 2023 so candidates can now check the updated IGNOU grade card status for their pending subjects including theory, practical, and assignment.

The above BDP Grade Card has included a BA program, B.Com, B.Sc, and Associates program which is included in the Bachelor’s Degree program. Candidates will find their status on the same page of the grade card report. If a candidate gets minimum passing marks then they have successfully completed their program from IGNOU and he or she becomes eligible for the award of a degree certificate from the university at the convocation of IGNOU.

IGNOU Grade Card Status 2023

If you are a new student then you might be confused regarding the status of your subject by looking for the first time at IGNOU Grade Card Status. Candidates can check and confirm the status of their subjects whether they are passed in the subject or not. If the status of the particular subject shows as “Completed” means you are fully passed in the Assignment and theory exam but if showing “Not Completed” then it means you are either failed in the theory exam or assignment.

How to Download IGNOU Grade Card 2023?

There are only a few steps to be followed to get your Grade Card for any of the programs on your screen. Get started to proceed.

Now you are at the Online Grade Card section so just enter your 9 or 10 digit enrollment number
Select the suitable option from the drop-down list (Eg. BDP, BA, or CBCS or Other)
Now, choose your program from the dropdown list
and finally, click on the Search button and you are all done
You can see the complete grade card on your screen
You can get a print of it for future reference

Candidates have to follow the above procedure to get their Grade Card or Score Card on screen. That’s it. Your grade card for the selected program will be displayed on the screen with all your subject marks and grades. If your grade card shows incomplete and some of the subjects are missing on the grade card then you just need to wait sometime. IGNOU is updating your grade card with entire subjects and will be updated soon with all subjects and complete marks. Candidates can take a printout of their grade cards for future reference.

Things to Check with IGNOU Grade or Score Card

Grade card showing marks of Term End Theory Exam, Practical, and Assignments. Grades will be given to all subjects after the calculation of each mark obtained by the students in all three factors. If there is no subject with practical then the grade will be calculated on the basis of a theory exam and submission of assignments. Candidates can calculate their percentage according to their marks and grade. Candidates are advised to verify their grade cards properly and confirm that all subjects are indicated online with correct marks and grades.
