ईसाई समुदायों के लिये क्रिसमस एक महत्वपूर्ण त्योहार है हालाँकि ये पूरी दुनिया में दूसरे धर्मों के लोगों द्वारा भी मनाया जाता है। ये एक प्राचीन उत्सव है जो वर्षों से शीत ऋतु में मनाया जाता है। ये प्रभु ईशु के जन्मदिवस पर मनाया जाता है। पारिवारिक सदस्यों में सभी को सांता क्लाज़ के द्वारा क्रिसमस की मध्यरात्रि में उपहार बाँटने की बड़ी परंपरा है।

क्रिसमस का त्योहार (Christmas Festival)

सांता क्लाज़ रात के समय सभी के घरों में जाकर उनको उपहार बाँटता है खासतौर से बच्चों को वो मजाकिया उपहार देता है। बच्चे बड़ी व्याकुलता से सांता और इस दिन का इंतजार करते है। वो अपने माता-पिता से पूछते है कि कब सांता आयेगा और अंततः: बच्चों का इंतज़ार खत्म होता है और ढ़ेर सारे उपहारों के साथ सांता 12 बजे मध्यरात्रि को आता है।

क्रिसमस के त्यौहार में यह एक परंपरा है कि लोग इस दिन अपने दोस्तों और रिश्तेदारों को सुन्दर ग्रीटिंग कार्ड भेजते और देते हैं। हर कोई परिवार के लोग और दोस्त रात के दावत में शामिल होते है।

इस पर्व में मिठाई,  चॉकलेट,  ग्रीटींग कार्ड,  क्रिसमस पेड़, सजावटी वस्तुएँ आदि भी पारिवारिक सदस्यों, दोस्तों, रिश्तेदार और पड़ोसियों को देने की परंपरा है। लोग पूरे जनून के साथ महीने के शुरुआत में ही इसकी तैयारियों में जुट जाते है। इस दिन को लोग गाने गाकर, नाचकर, पार्टी मनाकर, अपने प्रियजनों से मिलकर मनाते है। प्रभू ईसा, ईसाई धर्म के संस्थापक के जन्मदिवस के अवसर पर ईसाईयों द्वारा इस उत्सव को मनाया जाता है। लोगों का ऐसा मानना है कि मानव जाति की रक्षा के लिये प्रभु ईशा को धरती पर भेजा गया है।

क्रिसमस ईसाइयों का त्यौहार है यह पूरे विश्व में 25 दिसंबर को धूम-धाम से मनाया जाता है। लोगों द्वारा पूरी दुनिया में क्रिसमस को मनाया जाता है, इसे खासतौर से ईसाई धर्म के लोगों द्वारा हर साल 25 दिसंबर के दिन मनाया जाता है। इसे प्रभु ईसा के जन्मदिन पर मनाया जाता है, ये ईसाइयों के भगवान है जिन्होंने ईसाई धर्म की शुरुआत की। ये त्योहार हर साल ठंड के मौसम में आता है हालाँकि लोग इसे पूरी मस्ती, क्रिया-कलाप और खुशी के साथ मनाते है। ये ईसाइयों के लिये एक महत्वपूर्ण त्योहार है जिसके लिये वो लोग ढेर सारी तैयारियाँ करते है। इस उत्सव की तैयारी एक महीने पहले ही शुरु हो जाती है और क्रिसमस के 12 दिनों के बाद ये पर्व खत्म होता है।

इस दिन केक का बहुत महत्व होता है। लोग एक दूसरे को उपहार स्वरूप केक भी देते है और अपने यहां भोज पर आमंत्रित करते है। ईसाई लोग अपने घर में तरह -तरह के केक बनाते है। इस दिन लोग क्रिसमस के पेड़ को सजाते है, अपने दोस्त, रिश्तेदार और पड़ोसियों के साथ खुशियाँ मनाते है और उपहार बाँटते है। इस दिन की मध्यरात्रि को 12 बजे सेंता क्लाज हर एक के घर आते है और चुपचाप बच्चों के लिये उनके घरों में प्यारे-प्यारे उपहार रखते है। अगली सुबह ही अपनी पसंद के उपहार पाकर बच्चे भी बहुत खुश होते है। इस दिन सभी स्कूल, कॉलेज, विश्वविद्यालय, कार्यालय और दूसरे सरकारी और गैर-सरकारी संस्थान आदि बंद रहते है। पूरे दिन ढेर सारे क्रिया-कलापों द्वारा क्रिसमस अवकाश के रुप में लोग इसका आनन्द उठाते है।

लोग बड़े डिनर पार्टी का लुत्फ  उठाते है जिसे भोज कहते है। इस खास मौके पर ढ़ेर सारे लजीज़ व्यंजन, मिठाई, बादाम आदि बनाकर डाईनिंग टेबुल पर लगाते है। सभी लोग रंग-बिरंगे कपड़े पहनते है, नृत्य करते है, गाते है, और मज़ेदार क्रिया-कलापों के द्वारा कर खुशी मनाते है। इस दिन ईसाई समुदाय अपने ईश्वर से दुआ करते है, अपने सभी गलतियों के लिये माफी माँगते है, पवित्र गीत गाते है और अपने प्रियजनों से खुशी से मिलते है।

• क्रिसमस के पर्व के लिए प्रति वर्ष यूरोप (Europe) में 60 लाख पेड़ उगाये जाते हैं।

क्रिसमस, यीशु के जन्म का सम्मान करने वाली एक ईसाई अवकाश,  दुनिया भर में धार्मिक और धर्मनिरपेक्ष उत्सव में विकसित हुई है, जिसमें उत्सवों में कई पूर्व-ईसाई और मूर्तिपूजा परंपराएं शामिल हैं। हर्ष और खुशी का एक बड़ा उत्सव है क्रिसमस। ये प्रभु ईशा (ईसाई धर्म के संस्थापक) के जन्म दिवस के अवसर पर हर साल 25 दिसंबर को शीत ऋतु में मनाया जाता है। इस दिन को क्रिसमस डे के रुप में प्रभु ईशा को श्रद्धांजलि और सम्मान देने के लिये मनाया जाता है।

लगभग एक महीने पहले से ही क्रिश्चन इस त्योहार की तैयारियाँ करने लगते है। इस दिन पर घर, कार्यालय, चर्च आदि की सफाई करते है: पोताई करना और कागज तथा प्राकृतिक फूलों से अच्छे से सजाना, चित्र, दीवार पर ध्वज पट लगाना। आकर्षक दिखने के लिये बाजारों को भी सजाया जाता है और हम देख सकते है कि बाजार क्रिसमस कार्ड, सुंदर ग्लासेज़, उपहार, सीनरी, खिलौने आदि से भर जाता है। लोग अपने घरों के बीच में क्रिसमस के पेड़ को सजाते है और उसको ढ़ेर सारे उपहार जैसे कि चौकोलेट, कैंडिज़, गुब्बारे, गुड़ीया, चिड़ीया, फूल, लाइटें आदि से इसे चमकदार और सुंदर बनाते है।

भजन गाते है तथा अपने मित्र, सगे-संबंधियों, और पड़ोसियों में उपहारों का आदान-प्रदान करते है। इस दिन ये लोग एक बड़े भोज का आयोजन करते है जिसमें लजीज़ पकवानों से सभी का स्वागत किया जाता है। दावत के बाद सभी लोग गीत-संगीत पर झूमते है और रात में गाना गाते है। ये बहुत ही जोश और खुशी का उत्सव है जिसे पूरी दुनिया में मस्ती के साथ मनाया जाता है।

क्रिसमस का उपहार (Christmas Gifts)

इस दिन ईसाई लोग भगवान से प्रार्थना करते है। प्रभु ईशा के सामने वो अपनी गलतीयों के लिये माफी माँगते है। अपने भगवान ईसा मसीह के गुणगान में लोग पवित्र भजन गाते है, बाद में वो अपने बच्चों और मेहमानों के लिये क्रिसमस के उपहार बाँटते है। इस दिन पर अपने मित्रों और रिश्तेदारों को क्रिसमस के कार्ड देने की परंपरा है। सभी क्रिसमस भोज के बड़े उत्सव में शामिल होते है और अपने पारिवारिक सदस्यों और मित्रों के साथ खुशबूदार पकवानों का लुफ्त उठाते है। बच्चे इस दिन का बहुत उत्सुकता से इंतजार करते है क्योंकि उनको ढेर सारे उपहार और चौकेलेट मिलते है। क्रिसमस का उत्सव स्कूल और कॉलेजों में एक दिन पहले 24 दिसंबर को मनाया जाता है, उस दिन बच्चे सांता क्लाज की ड्रेस या टोपी पहनकर स्कूल जाते है।

इस दिन को लोग देर रात तक नृत्य-संगीत में झूम कर या मॉल और रेस्टोरेंट में जाकर मनाते है। ईसाई धर्म के लोग प्रभु ईशू की पूजा करते है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि प्रभु (भगवान के संतान) को लोगों के पास उनके जीवन को बचाने और उनको पाप और दुखों से रक्षा करने के लिये पृथ्वी पर भेजा गया था। ईसा मसीह के अच्छे कार्यों को याद करने के लिये क्रिसमस का ये उत्सव ईसाई समुदाय के लोगों द्वारा मनाया जाता है और हम ढ़ेर सारा प्यार और सम्मान देते है। ये सार्वजनिक और धार्मिक अवकाश होता है जब लगभग सभी सरकारी और गैर-सरकारी संस्थान बंद रहता है।

यीशु की जन्म तिथि 25 दिसंबर होने का कोई ऐतिहासिक संदर्भ नहीं है; न तो गॉस्पेल में और न ही किसी अन्य धार्मिक ग्रंथ में। हालाँकि, धर्मशास्त्रियों का मानना ​​है कि उनका जन्म 6 ईसा पूर्व और 4 ईसा पूर्व के बीच हुआ था। प्रारंभिक ईसाई चर्च यीशु के जन्म का जश्न नहीं मना रहे थे। 440 ई. के आसपास ही चर्च ने आधिकारिक तौर पर 25 दिसंबर को ईसा मसीह के जन्मदिन के रूप में घोषित किया। हालाँकि यह उद्घोषणा यीशु के जन्म के किसी दस्तावेजी प्रमाण के बजाय एक पुराने बुतपरस्त त्योहार पर आधारित थी। बाइबल में ही यह संकेत दिया गया है कि 25 दिसंबर ईसा मसीह की जन्मतिथि होने की संभावना नहीं है क्योंकि फिलिस्तीन में दिसंबर बहुत ठंडा महीना होता है और इस महीने के आसपास चरवाहे खेतों में नहीं बल्कि घर के अंदर होते हैं।

क्रिसमस एक पवित्र धार्मिक अवकाश और एक विश्वव्यापी सांस्कृतिक और वाणिज्य घटना दोनों है। दो सहस्राब्दी के लिए, दुनिया भर के लोग इसे परंपराओं और प्रथाओं के साथ देख रहे हैं जो प्रकृति में धार्मिक और धर्मनिरपेक्ष दोनों हैं। ईसाई नासरी के यीशु के जन्म की सालगिरह के रूप में क्रिसमस दिवस मनाते हैं, एक आध्यात्मिक नेता जिनकी शिक्षाएं उनके धर्म का आधार बनाती हैं। लोकप्रिय रीति-रिवाजों में उपहारों का आदान-प्रदान, क्रिसमस के पेड़ों को सजाने, चर्च में भाग लेने, परिवार और दोस्तों के साथ भोजन साझा करने और, निश्चित रूप से, सांता क्लॉज आने का इंतजार करना शामिल है। 25 दिसंबर-क्रिसमस दिवस 1870 से संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में संघीय अवकाश रहा है।

भारत में क्रिसमस

भारत में क्रिसमस को सार्वजनिक अवकाश के रूप में मनाया जाता है। क्रिसमस पर कई स्कूल, कॉलेज और कार्यालय बंद रहते हैं। भारतीय ईसाई दिन की शुरुआत सुबह चर्च जाकर करते हैं। चर्चों को विशेष रूप से सजाया जाता है और विशेष उपदेश पढ़े जाते हैं। लोग अपने घरों को सजाते हैं, एक-दूसरे को बधाई देते हैं और परिवार और दोस्तों के साथ मिलकर भोजन करते हैं। बच्चों और परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों को उपहार भी दिये जाते हैं।

क्रिसमस फिर भी खुशी का त्योहार है और एक भव्य उत्सव की आवश्यकता है। क्रिसमस का एक और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण पहलू यह है कि यह एक धर्मनिरपेक्ष त्योहार है यानी यह किसी भी जनसांख्यिकीय विभाजन में देने, साझा करने और देखभाल करने को बढ़ावा देता है।

इसलिए भी उनके जन्मदिवस को अपने सबसे बड़े त्यौहार के रूप में मनाते है। क्रिसमस इंग्लिश की दो शब्दों से मिलकर बना है जिसमें Christ शब्द ‘क्रिस्टियन’ को दर्शाता है और Mass का मतलब “लोगों का समूह” होता है।

यह ईसाइयों के लिए सबसे पवित्र और हर्षोल्लास का त्यौहार होता है जिस को आम भाषा में बड़ा दिन भी कहा जाता है। वर्तमान में इस उत्सव को सभी देशों द्वारा अपना लिया गया है और सभी धर्म के लोग क्रिसमस को बड़े धूमधाम से मनाते है इसलिए अधिकांश देशों में 25 दिसंबर का राजकीय अवकाश होता है।

क्रिसमस की तैयारियां ईसाई धर्म के लोगों महीने भर पहले से ही करने लग जाते है। वे अपने घरों की साफ सफाई करके उन्हें पवित्र करते हैं रंग बिरंगी लाइटों द्वारा सजावट करते है। क्रिसमस के दिन गिरजा करो को विशेष तौर पर रंग बिरंगी फुलझड़ीओं, गुब्बारों, लाइटो और फूलों द्वारा लगाया जाता है।

चर्च में विशेष पूजा होती है जिसके बाद सभी लोग एक दूसरे को क्रिसमस की बधाई और उपहार देते है।सभी लोगों द्वारा चर्च में मोमबत्तियां जलाई जाती है,

प्रस्तावना –

क्रिसमस का त्यौहार ईसाई धर्म को मानने वाले लोगों द्वारा मनाया जाता है यह त्यौहार उनके लिए सबसे बड़ा उत्सव होता है। क्रिसमस प्रमुख रूप से यूरोपीय देशों में मनाया जाता है लेकिन धीरे-धीरे इसको अब एशियाई देशों में भी अपना लिया गया है।

क्रिसमस का त्यौहार प्रतिवर्ष 25 दिसंबर को बड़े ही हर्षोल्लास और धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है। ईसाई समाज के लोगों के लिए क्रिसमस का दिन बहुत महत्वपूर्ण दिन होता है उनका मानना है कि इस दिन प्रभु यीशु का जन्म हुआ था और उन्हीं के जन्मदिन के उपलक्ष पर इस त्यौहार का आयोजन किया जाता है।

परंपरा और मान्यता –

पुरानी कथाओं और मान्यताओं के अनुसार माता मरियम के पुत्र का जन्म ईसा मसीह के रूप में हुआ था। ईसा मसीह के जन्म से पूर्व माता मरियम कुंवारी थी उनकी सगाई दाऊद के राजवंशी यूसुफ़ नामक व्यक्ति से हुई थी।

कथाओं के अनुसार एक दिन माता मरियम के पास स्वर्गदूतआए उन्होंने माता मरियम को कहा कि जल्द ही उन्हें एक पुत्र की प्राप्ति होगी जो कि संसार में रहने वाले लोगों को कष्टों से मुक्ति का रास्ता दिखाएगा।

कुछ ही दिनों में माता मरियम की शादी हो गई उसके पश्चात वह और उनके पति यहूदिया प्रांत के बेथलेहेम नामक (Bethlehem) जगह रहने लगे।

इसी स्थान पर वहां के अस्तबल में ईसा मसीह का जन्म हुआ। ईश्वर ईसा मसीह में जन्म के समय से ही एक आलौकिक शक्ति थी।

ईसा मसीह दीन दुखी लोगों को ईश्वर के करीब रहने का मार्ग बताया उन्होंने सभी को भाईचारे से रहने और एक दूसरे से प्रेम भाव रखने को कहा। उन्होंने खास तौर पर लोगों को क्षमा करने और क्षमा मांगने पर जोर दिया।

कुछ लोगों को उनकी यह बातें पसंद नहीं आई इसलिए उनकी हत्या कर दी गई थी लेकिन उनके विचारों को नहीं दबाया जा सका इसी कारण आज भी उनके जन्म उत्सव को ईसाई धर्म के लोगों द्वारा क्रिसमस के रूप में मनाया जाता है।

यह उत्सव इतना शानदार होता है कि इसके कारण बाजार में एक अनोखी रौनक देखने को मिलती है चारों तरफ रंग बिरंगी लाइटिंग और लोगों के खुशमिजाज चेहरे देखने को मिलते है।

इस उत्सव पर नौकरी पेशा लोगों को तनख्वाह के साथ बोनस मिलता है जिससे वह और अधिक खुश हो जाते हैं और खूब धूमधाम से क्रिसमस के इस उत्सव में हिस्सा लेते है।

ईसा मसीह का जन्म 25 दिसंबर की रात को हुआ था इसलिए क्रिसमस का आयोजन रात्रि से ही प्रारंभ हो जाता है जैसे ही 12 बजते है गिरजा घरों में विशेष प्रार्थनाएं की जाती है इसके पश्चात लोग अपने रिश्तेदारों और परिचित व्यक्तियों को क्रिसमस की बधाइयां देते है।

कई लोग इस उत्सव को समूह में मनाते है और स्वादिष्ट व्यंजनों का भी इंतजाम करते हैं जिससे इस उत्सव में चार चांद लग जाते है। क्रिसमस के दिन क्रिसमस ट्री भी लगाया जाता है जिस पर तरह-तरह की लाइटों मुबारक और उपहार लगाए जाते है।

ईसाई धर्म के लोगों द्वारा क्रिसमस ट्री लगाने के पीछे एक पुरानी धारणा है जिसके अनुसार क्रिसमस ट्री लगाने से सकारात्मक ऊर्जा का प्रवाह बढ़ जाता है और नकारात्मक ऊर्जा पूरी तरह नष्ट हो जाती है।

क्रिसमस ईसाइयों का सबसे महत्त्वपूर्ण त्योहार है तथा भारत के राष्ट्रीय त्योहारों में से एक है। इस दिन प्रतिवर्ष 25 दिसंबर को ईसा मसीह का जन्म दिवस मनाया जाता है। ईसा मसीह ‘ईश्वर के पुत्र’ कहलाते हैं, जो इस धरती पर मानव जाति की बुराई से रक्षा के लिए आए थे। वे मानव जाति के लिए सबसे बड़े मार्गदर्शक, उपदेशक व उपचारक थे। उन्होंने संसार को शांति, प्रेम व धैर्य का संदेश दिया।

ईसा के जन्म का यह उत्सव 336 ई- से मनाया जा रहा है। ‘क्रिसमस’ या ‘एक्स-मस’ शब्द ‘क्राइस्ट मास’ से लिया गया गया है।

ईसा मसीह धरती पर आए

ईसा मसीह का जन्म इज़रायल के बैथलहम में मदर मैरी के घर हुआ ।

इज़रायल में नाज़रेथ नामक छोटा-सा गांव था । वहां जोसफ नामक बढ़ई रहता था । उसका मैरी नामक युवती से विवाह होने वाला था ।

एक दिन देवदूत मैरी के पास आया और कहा, “ईश्वर ने अपने पुत्र को धरती पर भेजने का निर्णय ले लिया है उन्होंने तुम्हें अपने पुत्र की माता के रूप में चुना है ।”

देवदूत ने मैरी से यह भी कहा कि वह बालक का नाम ‘जीसस’ रखे । मैरी यह सुनकर प्रसन्न व रोमांचित हो उठी । वह अपने-आपको धन्य मान रही थी ।

जोसफ विवाह से पूर्व ही मैरी के गर्भवती होने का समाचार सुनकर चौक गया । यहां तक कि उसने विवाह तोड़ने का भी फैसला ले लिया ।

देवदूत गैबरियाल ने उसके सपने में आकर कहा, “हे जोसफ! कृपया मैरी को छोड़ने का विचार मन में मत लाओ । वह पवित्र है, तभी ईश्वर ने उसे अपने पुत्र की माता बनने के लिए चुना है । मैरी को पत्नी के रूप में स्वीकार लो ।”

जोसफ ने देवदूत के आदेश को मानकर मैरी से विवाह कर लिया । कुछ माह बाद वहां के राजा ने आदेश दिया कि सभी लोगों को नई कर पद्धति के लिए अपना पंजीकरण कराना होगा । इसके लिए उन्हें अपने जन्मस्थान जाने का निर्देश दिया गया ।

जोसफ व मैरी नाज़रेथ से बैथलहम रवाना हुए । मैरी खच्चर पर थी और जोसफ पैदल चल रहा था । उन्होंने बैथलहम पहुंचने के लिए कई मील लंबी यात्रा की । जब वे वहां पहुंचे तो रात घिर आई । मैरी भी काफी थकी हुई थी । शिशु के जन्म का समय भी समीप ही था ।

मैरी व जोसफ ने सराय में रहने के लिए स्थान खोजा, पर कोई जगह खाली न थी । जोसफ ने सराय वाले को मैरी की हालत के बारे में बताया । सराय के मालिक ने उन्हें तरस खाकर पहाड़ियों के पास खाली गुफाओं का रास्ता दिखा दिया । एक गुफा में अस्तबल भी था । जोसफ ने उसे ही साफ किया और रहने का प्रबंध कर लिया ।

अगली रात मैरी ने एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया । शिशु के चेहरे पर दिव्य आभा थी । देवदूत के कहे अनुसार, उसका नाम ‘जीसस’ रखा गया ।

जैसे ही जीसस का जन्म हुआ, बैथलहम के आकाश में एक सितारा तीव्रता से चमकने लगा । एक देवदूत गड़रियों के झुंड के सामने प्रकट हुआ । उसने ईश्वर के पुत्र जीसस के जन्म की घोषणा की । माना जाता है कि तीन बुद्धिमान व्यक्तियों को दिव्य संदेश मिला था कि ईश्वर-पुत्र धरती पर आ चुका है । वे उस सितारे का पीछा करते-करते बैथलहम आ पहुंचे ताकि जीसस के दर्शन कर सकें ।

जल्द ही जीसस के जन्म का समाचार चारों ओर फैल गया । बड़े होकर ईश्वर के पुत्र ईसा ने शांति व प्रेम का संदेश दिया । उन्होंने मानव जाति के कल्याण के लिए पूरा जीवन समर्पित कर दिया ।

क्रिसमस का समारोह

क्रिसमस की तैयारियां कई सप्ताह पहले ही आरंभ हो जाती हैं । यह त्योहार 24 दिसंबर की शाम से नव वर्ष तक मनाया जाता है ।

घरों की साफ-सफाई व रंगाई-पुताई आदि करवाई जाती है । यह प्रेम व एकता का त्योहार है । लोग अपने पड़ोसियों, मित्रें व संबंधियों से मिलते हैं और परस्पर उपहारों का आदान-प्रदान होता है ।

सुबह के समय लोग चर्च जाते हैं व ईसा का स्तुतिगान करते हैं । शाम को केक व कुकीज़ के अलावा कई तरह के स्वादिष्ट पकवान परोसे जाते हैं । लोग ‘मैरी क्रिसमस’ कहकर एक-दूसरे का अभिवादन करते हैं । वे सारी रात नाचते-गाते और मस्ती करते हैं ।

क्रिसमस से एक माह पहले ही घरों, दुकानों, कार्यालयों, स्कूलों व शॉपिंग मॉलों में रंग-बिरंगे गुब्बारों, रिबनों व रोशनी से सजावट की जाती है । बाजार में इस त्योहार के लिए क्रिसमस के उपहार, कपड़े, केक, कुकीज़ व कई तरह के दूसरे सामान आ जाते हैं । हर जगह से खुशियों के गीत कैरोल की धुन सुनाई देते हैं ।

इस त्योहार पर मित्रें, पड़ोसियों व रिश्तेदारों को ग्रीटिंग कार्ड देने की भी परंपरा है । इन कार्डों में जीसस, मदर मैरी व जोसफ आदि के चित्र खूबसूरती से दर्शाए जाते हैं ।

बच्चे स्कूल में अध्यापकों व मित्रें को देने के लिए स्वयं ग्रीटिंग कार्ड बनाते हैं ।

क्रिसमस से अगले दिन ‘बाक्सिंग डे’ होता है । इस दिन गिरजाघर अपने दान बॉक्स खोलते हैं ताकि त्योहार पर मिले उपहार व दान राशि को निकाल सकें । ये पैसा व उपहार गरीबों में बांट दिए जाते हैं । यह दिन दान देने के लिए होता है ।

क्रिसमस ट्री

क्रिसमस ट्री एक पाइन या फर का पेड़ होता है, जिसे रोशनी, उपहारों, पैकेट, रिबन, घंटियों और रूई से बनी नकली बर्फ से सजाया जाता है ।

एक प्रसंग के अनुसार, एक अंग्रेज संत बोनीफेस जर्मनी की यात्र कर रहे थे । उन्होंने कुछ लोगों को देखा, जो छोटे बच्चे की बलि चढ़ा रहे थे । उन्होंने पेड़ को जोर से ठोकर मारी व बलि को रोक दिया । उस पेड़ के गिरते ही वहां फर का नन्हा-सा पौधा सामने आ गया । उन्होंने उसे ‘ट्री ऑफ क्राइस्ट’ का नाम दे दिया, तभी से क्रिसमस पर पाइन या फर ट्री सजावट की परंपरा चली आ रही है ।

बच्चों का प्यारा-सांता क्लाज़

क्रिसमस का नाम आते ही सबसे पहले सांता क्लाज़ का नाम ध्यान में आता है । यह चरित्र बच्चों को बेहद लुभाता है । सांता क्लाज़ को एक प्यारे-से मोटे बूढ़े आदमी के रूप में दिखाया जाता है । जो लाल रंग के कपड़े, लंबी टोपी पहनता है । उसके चेहरे पर सफेद लंबी दाढ़ी होती है । उसकी पीठ पर झोले में बच्चों के लिए तोहफे होते हैं । वह अपनी स्लेज पर उत्तरी ध्रुव से आता है, जिसे रेंडियर खींचते हैं । उसके हाथ में एक घंटा होता है । बच्चों का मानना है कि सांता क्लाज़ क्रिसमस से एक दिन पहले उपहार देने आता है ।

सांता क्लाज़ या फादर क्रिसमस का यह प्यारा-सा रूप संत निकोलस पर आधारित है । वे मायरा (वर्तमान तुर्की) में ईसाई नेता थे । वे निर्धनों से बहुत स्नेह रखते थे तथा दयालु स्वभाव के थे । एक दिन वे एक गरीब लड़की की मदद करना चाहते थे । उन्होंने चुपके से धन की थैली, चिमनी के रास्ते उसके घर में फेंक दी । वह थैली चिमनी के नीचे पटाव में जा गिरी ।

तभी से माना जाता है कि सांता क्लाज़ चिमनी के रास्ते घर में आते हैं व लंबी जुराबों में उपहार छिपा जाते हैं । बाद में संत निकोलस, फादर क्रिसमस के रूप में लोकप्रिय हो गए, जो बच्चों में उपहार बांटते थे । यहां तक कि आज भी इस परंपरा का पालन होता है व लोग मोटे सांता क्लाज़ का रूप लेकर बच्चों व बूढ़ों में उपहार बांटते हैं ।

पूरी दुनिया के बच्चे सांता क्लाज़ का बेसब्री से इंतज़ार करते हैं । वे अपनी प्रार्थनाओं के दौरान अपनी इच्छाएं व मांगें प्रकट करते हैं व उम्मीद करते हैं कि सांता क्लाज़ उन्हें पूरा करेगा । सांता क्लाज़ का प्रिय गीत हैः

‘जिंगल बैल्स…जिंगल बैल्स, जिंगल ऑल द वे,

सैंटा क्लाज़ इज कमिंग अराउंड राइडिंग ऑन हिज़ स्लेज ।’

क्रिसमस-तब और अब

क्रिसमस सही मायनों में ईसा मसीह का दिन है । यह उनके द्वारा दिए गए प्रेम, दया व शांति के संदेश को याद करने का दिन है । हमें सच्चे मन व श्रद्धा से उनकी प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए व उनके उपदेशों को जीवन में अपनाना चाहिए ।

सभी देशों में अब शांतिपूर्ण प्रार्थनाओं के बजाय महंगी खरीददारी, तोहफों, दावतों व मौज-मस्ती पर अधिक ध्यान दिया जाने लगा है ।

मौज-मस्ती करना समारोह का अंग है, पर हमें इस दिन ईश्वर को स्मरण करना नहीं भूलना चाहिए । दावतों व तोहफों पर अधिक धन व्यय करने के बजाय हमें गरीबों व जरूरतमंदों की मदद करनी चाहिए ।

पवित्र बाइबिल में ईसा मसीह की जीवनी व कथाएं दी गई हैं । हमें उनके जीवन से शिक्षा लेते हुए सदा दूसरों के प्रति दयालु रहना चाहिए । ईसा मसीह ने पूरे जगत को एक ही संदेश दिया था – शांति व प्रेम का प्रसार करना ।

‘क्रिसमस’ ईसाइयों का प्रसिद्द त्यौहार है। यह 25 दिसंबर को प्रति वर्ष सम्पूर्ण विश्व में धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है। क्रिसमस का त्यौहार ईसा मसीह या जीसस क्राइस्ट के जन्मदिन के रूप में मनाया जाता है। ईसा मसीह ईसाई धर्म के प्रवर्तक हैं। ईसाई लोग उन्हें परमपिता परमेश्वर का पुत्र और ईसाई त्रिएक परमेश्वर का तृतीय सदस्य मानते हैं। ईसा मसीह को इस्लाम के अज़ीम तरीन पेगमबरों में से एक माना जाता है। वे संसार के दीन-दुखियों का दुःख दूर करने तथा ईश्वर के वास्तविक स्वरूप को दूसरों के समक्ष प्रकट करने हेतु अवतरित हुए थे। प्रारंभ में उन्हें अनेक कठिनाइयाँ का सामना करना पड़ा परंतु धीरे-धीरे उनके अनुयायियों की संख्या बढ़ने लगी। उन्होंने अपने उपदेशों के माध्यम से संसार में व्याप्त अंधविश्वास, अज्ञानता, दुख आदि को दूर करने का प्रयास किया।

ईसा मसीह के बारे में कहा जाता है कि यहूदियों को ईसा की बढ़ती लोकप्रियता से तकलीफ होने लगी। उन्हें लगने लगा कि ईसा उनसे सत्ता छीन सकते है इसलिए साजिश के तहत इन्हें सूली पर चढ़ा दिया गया। ईसाइयों का विश्वास है कि प्रभु ईसा मसीह अपने कथनानुसार तीसरे दिन पुनः जीवित हो गए थे। उन्होंने बड़े-बड़े चमत्कार किए, जो किसी इंसान के बस की बात नहीं क्योंकि ऐसा करने की शक्ति उसे परमेश्वर से मिली थी।

यह ईसाई समुदाय का सबसे बड़ा और खुशी का त्योहार है, इस कारण इसे बड़ा दिन भी कहा जाता है। ईसाई समुदाय के लिए इस त्योहार का वही महत्व है जो हिंदुओं के लिए दशहरा तथा दीपावली का है। इस दिन सभी स्कूल, कॉलेज, विश्वविद्यालय, कार्यालय आदि में अवकाश होता है। इस उत्सव के आगमन से पहले ही लोग खूब तैयारीयों के साथ अपने घरों और चर्च आदि को सजाते है। लोग डिनर पार्टी की तैयारी करते है। इस खास मौके पर ढेर सारे लजीज़ व्यंजन, मिठाई, आदि बनाकर डाईनिंग टेबल पर लगाते है। सभी लोग रंग-बिरंगे कपड़े पहनते है, नृत्य करते है, गाते है, और धूमधाम के साथ खुशी मनाते है। इस त्योहार पर ‘क्रिसमस-ट्री’ सजाने का विशेष महत्व है । यूरोपीय देशों में तो इसकी सजावट व भव्यता देखने लायक होती है। परिवार के सभी सदस्य इस दिन ‘क्रिसमस-ट्री’ के चारों और एकत्रित होते हैं। सभी मिलकर प्रभु ईसा मसीह का स्तुतिगान तथा प्रार्थना करते है और अपनी सभी गलतियों के लिये माफी माँगते है, तथा ठीक 12 बजे एक-दूसरे को केक खिलाकर त्यौहार की बधाई देते हैं। बच्चो के लिए यह दिन ओर बेहतरीन बनाने के लिए सांता आता है और उनमे कई तरीके की मिठाई तथा उपहार बाट के जाता है।

प्रभु ईसा मसीह ने सादा जीवन व्यतीत करते हुए भी जो उच्च आदर्श इस संसार के सम्मुख रखे हैं वे आज भी अनुकरणीय हैं तथा आने वाले समय में भी अनुकरणीय रहेंगे। ईसा मसीह ने अपना सर्वस्व परमेश्वर के लिए समर्पित कर दिया था। संसार में व्याप्त दुख, विषमताओं तथा अज्ञानता को दूर करने के लिए वे सदैव प्रयासरत रहे।

यह त्योहार सभी के हृदयों में पवित्रता की भावना लाता है तथा हमें प्रेरित करता है कि अनेक कठिनाइयों का सामना करने पर भी हमें सत्मार्ग का त्याग नहीं करना चाहिए तथा दूसरों को भी इसी मार्ग पर चलने के लिए प्रेरित करना चाहिए।

विश्व भर में ईसा मसीह का जन्मदिन ‘क्रिसमस’ नाम से जाना जाता है। ईसा मसीह का जन्म प्रतिवर्ष पच्चीस दिसंबर को मनाया जाता है। यह दिन ‘बड़ा दिन’ भी कहा जाता है।

ईसाइयों के धर्म-ग्रंथ ‘बाइबिल’ में ईसा मसीह की जन्मकथा विस्तार से वर्णित है। ‘बाइबिल’ के अनुसार नज़रेथ नगर (फिलिस्तीन) में यूसुफ़ नाम का एक व्यक्ति था, जिसके साथ मरियम नामक कन्या की मँगनी (सगाई) हुई थी। एक दिन मरियम को स्वर्ग-दूत ने दर्शन देकर कहा, आप पर प्रभु की कृपा है। आप गर्भवती होंगी, पुत्र रत्न को जन्म देंगी तथा नवजात शिशु का नाम ‘ईसा’ रखेंगी। वे महान होंगे। प्रभु के सर्वोच्च पुत्र कहलाएँगे।”

कुछ समय बाद वहाँ के शासक ने अपने राज्य में जनगणना के आदेश दिए। यूसुफ़ और मरियम ‘बेथेलहेम’ नगर में नाम लिखवाकर लौट रहे थे कि मार्ग में मरियम को प्रसव पीडा होने लगी। संयोग से एक सराय के मालिक ने उन्हें सराय में जगह दे दी। वहीं मरियम ने इस अदभर बालक को अस्तबल की चरनी (पशुओं के लिए चारा डालने वाली जगह) में जन्म दिया। मरियम को स्वर्ग-दत से मिला संदेश सच निकला। बालक ईसा के जन्म का पवित्र दिन क्रिसमस की खुशियों के साथ मनाया जाने लगा।

‘क्रिसमस’ विश्व भर के ईसाइयों का सबसे बड़ा त्योहार है। क्रिसमस के अवसर पर ईसा मसीह का समरण बड़े प्रेम और हर्ष के साथ किया जाता है। इस दिन क्रिसमस के स्तुतिगीत (केरॉल) गाते हुए लोग घर-घर पहुँचते हैं। बालक ईसा के जन्म पर स्वर्गाटनों ने जो गीत गया था। वही सबसे पहला ‘क्रिसमस कैरॉल’ माना जाता है।

क्रिसमस के अवसर पर ईसाई धर्मावलंबी अपने-अपने घरों में क्रिसमस पेड़ और क्रिसमस तारे की सजावट करते हैं। क्रिसमस पेड़ लगाने का प्रारंभ जर्मनी में हुआ था। ईसा मसीह के जन्म के समय प्रकट हुए तारे की स्मृति में तारा सजाया जाता है। चरनी का रूप बनाकर उस पर इसा और मरियम की मूर्तियाँ भी सजाई जाती हैं। विशेष प्रार्थनाओं और गीत-संगीत के कार्यक्रमों का भव्य आयोजन किया जाता है। ईसाई बंधुओं के घरों में क्रिसमस-केक बनाए जाते हैं, जिन्हें ये लोग मित्रों में भेंट स्वरूप बाँटते हैं।

क्रिसमस के दिन सारे विश्व के गिरजाघर अपनी अनोखी सजावट और रोशनी के कारण आकर्षण के केंद्र बन जाते हैं।

भारत देश में अनेक जाति एवं धर्म के लोग रहते हैं। हमारा देश एक धर्मनिरपेक्ष देश है। इसमें किसी भी व्यक्ति को कोई भी धर्म अपनाने की छूट है। हिन्दू, मुसलमान, सिख, इसाई सभी भारत में रहते हैं। इतने सारे धर्म और जातियों के होने पर भारत में समय-समय पर पर्व एवं त्योहार मनाए जाते हैं। इन्हीं त्योहारों में क्रिसमस भी एक त्योहार है। क्रिसमस को बड़ा दिन भी कहा जाता है। यह त्योहार इसाइयों का एक पवित्र त्योहार है। जिस प्रकार हिन्दू समाज में जन्माष्टमी और रामनवमी का महत्व है, उसी प्रकार इसाई समुदाय में क्रिसमस का बहुत महत्व है। इसाई धर्म के लोग क्रिसमस को इसा मसीह के जन्मदिन के रूप में मनाते हैं। यह त्योहार दिसम्बर महीने की 25 तारीख को प्रतिवर्ष मनाया जाता है। विश्व के अधिकतर देशे इस पर्व को मनाते हैं। इसकाई समुदाय बड़े हर्ष और उल्लास के साथ क्रिसमस का पर्व मानाता है।

इस मसीह का जन्म बेतलहंम में हुआ था। इनके पिता का नाम जोसफ और माता का सिमरियम था। इनके पिता ज़ाति से यहूदी थे और अपनी पत्नी मरियम के साथ आश्रय की तलाश में एक नगर से दूसरे नगर में भटक रहे थे। येरूशलम जाते हुए ये बेतलेहमाम गांव में थक गए।जहीं पर इसा मसीह का जन्म हुआ इसा मसीह के जन्म की खबर तीन धार्मिक पुरषो को मिली और ये खबर उन्हें एक दैवी शक्ति से प्राप्ति हुई। कहा जाता है कि आसमान में एक जगमगाता तारा उगा और तीनों महात्मा उस तारे का पीछा करते-करते इसा मसीह के जन्मस्थल पर पहुँच गए। उस अलौकिक बालक को देखते ही उन महात्माओं ने उसके चरणों में सिर झुका दिए। इसी दिन को इसा मसीह के जन्मदिन के रूप में आज भी इसाई धर्म के लोग मनाते हैं।

क्रिसमस के दिन लोग अपने-अपने घरों को सजाते हैं। घर की छतों और दरवाजों पर तारेनुमा लाइटें लगाते हैं। इस दिन दुनिया भर में दुकानें सजाई जाती हैं। इस दिन प्रात: काल होते ही लोग गिरजाघरों में जाकर प्रार्थना करते हैं। एक -दूसरे को भेंट और उपहार प्रदान करने हैं। लोग एक-दूसरे के घर जाकर मिठाईयाँ देते हैं। क्रिसमस का त्योहार बहुत ही हर्षोल्लास का उत्सव है। इस दिन लोग अपने-अपने घरों में क्रिसमस ट्री लगाते हैं और उसे तरह-तरह के खिलौनों और रोशनी से सजाते हैं। कहा जाता है कि इस दिन घर पर क्रिसमस ट्री लगाना शुभ होता है। लोग घरों में केक, बिस्कुट और तरह-तरह की मिठाइयाँ बनाते हैं। शाम के समय प्रीतिभोज का आयोजन होता है जिसमें परिवार के समस्त सदस्यों के साथ-साथ समस्त मित्रगण भी सम्मिलित किए जाते हैं। संगीत, नृत्य का आयोजन किया जाता है। शाम से ही सब लोग संगीत और नृत्य की मस्ती में झूम जाते हैं। चारों ओर ‘मेरी क्रिसमस’ और ‘जिंगल बेल’ की धुन सुनाई देती है। पूरा माहौल हर्षोल्लास में डूबा हुआ होता है।

बच्चों के लिए भी यह त्योहार बहुत महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है। बच्चों को इस दिन सेंटाक्लाज का इंतजार रहता है, जो तरह-तरह के खिलौने और उपहार बच्चों के लिए लाते हैं। शहर की दुकानें और होटल पूरी तरह से जगमगा उठते हैं। बच्चे अपने माता-पिता के साथ घूमने जाते हैं। इसी दिन से विद्यालयों में सर्दी की छुट्टियां भी शुरू हो जाती हैं।

इसाई धर्म में यह क्रिसमस ही सबसे बड़ा त्योहार है जो साल में एक बार धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है। यह त्योहार सद्भावना को बढ़ावा देता है और आपसी रंजिश भुलाकर एक-दूसरे की सहायता करने का भाव जाग्रत कराता है। क्रिसमस का पर्व सुख और शांति का वाहक है। लोगों में प्रेमभाव को जाग्रत करना ही भगवान इसा मसीह के जीवन का लक्ष्य था। अत: यह त्योहार भी प्रेम भाव का ही संदेश देता है। आजकल यह त्योहार न सिर्फ इसाई समुदाय मनाता है अपितु समस्त जाति और धर्म के लोग इस त्योहार को प्रेम और हर्षोल्लास के साथ मनाते हैं।

क्रिसमस का त्यौहार भगवान् यीशु मसीहा की जयंती जो की २५ दिसंबर को होती है उस दिन मनाया जाता है क्रिसमस का त्यौहार ईसाइयो द्वारा बड़े धूम धाम से मनाया जाता है और छोटे बच्चे तो इस त्यौहार का बेसब्री से इंतजार करते है क्योकि उनको सेंटाक्लॉस से बहोत से गिफ्ट जो मिलते है

अब तो इस त्यौहार को भारत के स्कूलों में भी मनाया जाने लगा जिसमे छोटे छोटे बचे सफ़ेद दाढ़ी मूछ और लाल रंग की ड्रेस पहनकर घूमते है जिसमे वह काफी सुन्दर लगते हैं

क्रिसमस के त्यौहार की तैयारी पहले से ही होने लगती है जिसमे लोग अपने घर की सफाई करके उसको बहुत अच्छे से सजाते हैं और त्यौहार के दिन नए नए कपडे पहनते है ईसाई लोग इस दिन विभिन्न तरह के व्यंजन बनाते हैं कही कही तो इनकी झाकिया भी निकाली जाती है

ईसा मसीह के लिए सब लोग बराबर थे वह किसी भी प्रकार का भेद भाव और ऊंच नीच नहीं मानते थे उन्होंने पूरी दुनिया को भाईचारे और प्रेम से रहने का सन्देश दिया था

भारत में विविध धर्मों के लोगों रहते है हिंन्दु , मुस्लिम , सिख , ईसाई , पारसी आदि और सबका अपना अपना महत्वपूर्ण त्योहार होता है जैसे हिन्दू धर्म के लोगों के लिए दशहरा और दीपावली बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण त्योहार है वैसे ही क्रिसमस ईसाईओं का महत्वपूर्ण त्योहार है

क्रिसमस हर साल 25 दिसम्बर को मनाया जाता है क्योंकि इस दिन बेथलेहम गांव में ईसा मसीह का जन्म हुआ था उनके पिता का नाम जोसेफ और माता का नाम मेरी था

ईसा मसीह ईसाई धर्म के संस्थापक थे वो एक महान व्यक्ति थे जो लोगों के दुःख दुर करते थे और एक दूसरे से मिलजुल कर प्यार से रहना सिखातें थे ईसाई धर्म के लोग ईसा मसीह को ईश्वर का बेटा मानते थे

ईसा मसीह दुनिया में से दुःख, अंधविश्वास, अज्ञानता आदि को खत्म करने की कोशिश करते थे और समाज सुधारक कार्य करते थे शुरू आत में उनको बहुत परेशानी झेलनी पड़ी थी लेकिन धीरे-धीरे उनके साथ और लोग जुड़ते गए 

ईसा मसीह ने पाखंडी धर्मगुरुओं की सच्चाई लोगों को बता कर लोगों को जीवन जीने का सच्चा और अच्छा रास्ता बताया और इस तरह ईसा मसीह की लोकप्रियता बढ़ती गई और यह देख कर पाखंडी धर्मगुरुओं ने राजा को ईसा मसीह के बारे में गलत बातें बोल कर राजा के द्वारा ईसा मसीह को सूली पर चढ़ा दिया गया

क्रिसमस – डे आने के कुछ दिन पहले ही लोग अपने घरों को और चर्च को सजाने लगते है क्रिसमस – डे के दिन सभी लोग नये कपड़े पहनते है और चर्च में जाते हैं और भगवान यीशु से प्रार्थना करते है इसके बाद

लोग एक दुसरे के घर जाते उनको मिलते है और एक दूसरे को भेंट देते है लोग अपने घर कई प्रकार के व्यंजन बनाते है

क्रिसमस के दिन चर्च में रात्रि के 12 बजे तक पूजा की जाती है इस दिन लोग ठीक रात्रि के 12 बजें अपने घर मोहल्ले में केक काटकर एक दूसरे को क्रिसमस की बधाई देते हैं और मेरी क्रिसमस कहते हैं

इस दिन सांता क्लोज़ आता है और बच्चों को अच्छी अच्छी गिफ्ट्स देकर जाता है और इस तरह लोग क्रिसमस – डे को ईसा मसीह की याद में बहुत ही आनंद और उत्साह से मनाते है

क्रिसमस डे हर साल 25 दिसंबर को ही मनाया जाता है क्योंकि इस दिन भगवान ईसा मसीह का जन्म हुआ था। ईसा मसीह एक महान व्यक्ति थे जो ऊंच नीच के भेदभाव को नहीं मानते थे और सादा जीवन जीते थे

क्रिसमस के अवसर पर लोग अपने घरों को मोमबत्तियों, झालरों इत्यादि से खूब सजाते हैं। क्रिसमस ट्री पर विभिन्न रंगो की झालरों से सजावट मनमोहक होता है। लोग रात में केक काटकर ईसा मसीह के जन्मदिन के साथ-साथ क्रिसमस मनाते है। लोग अपने प्रियजनों, रिश्तेदारों, बच्चो में खूब गिफ्ट्स बांटते हैं। घर पर तरह-तरह के स्वादिष्ट व्यंजन बनाये जाते है और पूरा परिवार मिलकर इस दिन खूब मजे करते हैं। क्रिसमस त्यौहार पर लोग सांता का यूनिफार्म पहनकर बच्चो को गिफ्ट्स बांटते हैं। बच्चे सांता को देखकर बहुत खुश होते हैं। रात में सांताक्लॉज आकर घरों में बच्चों के लिए गिफ्ट्स रखकर जाते हैं जिसे अगली सुबह बच्चे पाकर बहुत ख़ुश होते है।

क्रिसमस डे का परिचय

हर साल 25 दिसंबर को क्रिसमस डे मनाया जाता है। क्रिसमस दिवस यीशु मसीह के जन्म के सम्मान में मनाया जाता है। क्रिसमस ईसाइयों के प्रमुख त्योहारों में से एक है। वह नासरत का यीशु था। उनके उपदेश उनके धर्म के आधार से थे। वह एक आध्यात्मिक नेता थे। 25 दिसंबर को सांता क्लॉज के आने का बच्चों को इंतजार रहता है।

यह 1870 में संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में एक संघीय अवकाश के रूप में घोषित किया गया था। आज दुनिया भर के धर्म के लोग क्रिसमस मनाते हैं। आज की दुनिया में क्रिसमस एक त्योहार है जिसे दुनिया भर में मनाया जाता है। किसी भी धर्म के लोग चर्च के अंदर जा सकते हैं और वहां भगवान का आशीर्वाद ले सकते हैं। बच्चे मुख्य रूप से इस त्योहार का आनंद लेते हैं। उन्हें सांता और विभिन्न प्रकार के केक खाने को मिलते हैं।

क्रिसमस डे का इतिहास

क्रिसमस डे की सजावट

क्रिसमस डे की सजावट में एक देवदार का पेड़ शामिल है जिसे क्रिसमस ट्री के रूप में जाना जाता है। लोग क्रिसमस ट्री को सजाते हैं जिसमें घंटी, मोजे के छल्ले, और पैसे के अन्य प्रकार के अलंकरण लगाते हैं। देवदार के पेड़ को क्रिसमस ट्री के रूप में चुना जाता है क्योंकि यह एक सदाबहार पेड़ है और इसका रंग क्रिसमस के पारंपरिक रंग के रूप में जाना जाता है।

लोगों ने क्रिसमस की पूर्व संध्या से ही क्रिसमस मनाना शुरू कर दिया था। वे इस दिन को कई तरीकों से मनाते हैं। लोगों ने अपने घरों को क्रिसमस के पेड़ से सजाया और कई अन्य सजावट की आग लगाई जो पूरे दावत में जल गई। कई लोग अपने रिश्तेदारों और दोस्तों से मिलने जाते हैं। वे उनके बीच उपहार और कार्ड का आदान-प्रदान करते हैं, क्रिसमस का दिन ईसाईयों की पुरानी वेशभूषा सर्दियों के उत्सव के साथ भी जोड़ा जाता है, कई लोग क्रिसमस की पूर्व संध्या की पार्टी करते हैं। लोगों के कुछ समूह और कुछ धर्मार्थ ट्रस्ट जरूरतमंद बेघर और गरीब लोगों के लिए भोजन आश्रय कपड़े उपहार की व्यवस्था करते हैं। कुछ अमीर लोग अनाथालयों और कुछ अन्य दान को दान देते हैं। लोग एक चर्च में जाते हैं और यीशु मसीह के जन्म का जश्न मनाने के लिए सामूहिक प्रार्थना में शामिल होते हैं।

प्राचीन काल से ही भारत विविध धर्मों, विविध जातिओं और विविध विचारों की गोद रहा है। हिन्दू, मुस्लिम, ईसाई, सिख, पारसी सभी भारत के निवासी हैं इसलिए धर्मनिरक्षेप भारत में सभी धर्मों से सम्बंधित तरह-तरह के त्योहार मनाए जाते हैं।

क्रिसमस ईसाईओं का सार्वधिक महत्वपूर्ण त्योहार हैं। यह त्योहार बहुत कुछ हिन्दुओं की रामनवमी और जन्मास्टमी से मिलता जुलता हैं।

रामनवमी को श्री राम के जन्म की जयन्ती मनाई जाती हैं और जन्मास्टमी को कृष्ण के जन्म की। उसी तरह क्रिसमस का त्योहार भी ईसाई लोग, ईसामसीह की जयन्ती के अवसर पर मनाते हैं।

कहा जाता है की ईसामसीह का जन्म 25 दिसम्बर को बेथलेहम में हुआ था। इनके पिता जोज़फ और माता मरियम, यहूदी थे। वे लोग बिलकुल साधारण थे जो आश्रय के लिए भटकते हुए बेथलेहम पहुंचे थे।

यहीं एक अस्तबल में प्रभु ईसामसीह का जन्म हुआ, जो आगे चलकर ईसाई धर्म के महान प्रवर्तक हुए। आगे चलकर ईसामसीह रोम-सम्राट के कोपभाजन बने और उन्हें शूली पर चढ़ा दिया गया।

उनकी मृत्यु के बाद इनके अनुयायी हर वर्ष उनकी वर्षगाँठ 25 दिसम्बर को क्रिसमस के रूप में मनाने लगे।

इस त्योहार के अवसर पर ईसाई अपने घर आँगन की सफ़ाई और सजावट करते है। सुबह स्नान करके धार्मिक भाव से गिरजाघरों (चर्च) में जाते हैं, वहाँ प्रभु यीशु से प्रार्थना करते है।

इसके बाद उपहार और भेंट का सिलसिला शुरू होता हैं। हर आदमी एक-दूसरे के घर मिठाई लेकर जाता हैं और अपने आत्मीयजनों से मिलता-जुलता हैं।

प्रायः शाम में लोग प्रीती-भोज का आयोजन करते हैं, जहाँ बच्चे क्रिसमस का वृक्ष सजाते हैं। मध्य-रात्रि से लेकर दूसरे दिन भर लोग राग-रंग में डूबे रहते हैं।

चारों ओर नृत्य और संगीत की धूम मची रहती हैं। इस अवसर पर सजे हुए ‘क्रिसमस वृक्ष (Christmas Tree)’ के चारों ओर लोग खड़े होकर ईसामसीह से प्रार्थना करते हैं और सबके लिए सुख-समृद्धि की कामना की जाती हैं।

यह भाईचारा-प्रेम और सदभावना का त्यौहार हैं। सभी ईसाई लोग बड़ी ख़ुशी के साथ मिलजुल कर इस पर्व को मनाते हैं।

प्रस्तावना –  

Christmas Essay In Hindi – ये तो सर्वविदित है कि भारत देश में कई धर्मों को मानने वाले लोग हैं। और इन सबके अपने कुछ पारंपरिक, ऐतिहासिक और धार्मिक त्योहार भी है, जिससे यहाँ वर्षभर किसी न किसी धर्म का कोई न कोई त्यौहार राष्ट्रीय तथा अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर मनाया ही जाता रहता है। और जिनके पीछे एक समृद्ध संस्कृति तथा महात्म होता हैं। भारतीय पर्वों के इसी क्रम का एक बड़ा धार्मिक और महत्वपूर्ण पर्व क्रिसमस है।

‘क्रिसमस’ (Christmas Day) मूलतः ईसाई समुदाय का सबसे प्रमुख और प्रतीक्षित त्यौहार है। यह त्योहार हर साल 25 दिसंबर को मनाया जाता है। सामान्यत: हम लोग इसे क्रिसमस डे या बड़ा दिन भी कहते हैं। इस दिन को प्रभु यीशु मसीह के जन्म-दिन के रूप में मनाया जाता है । 

ईसा मसीह न सिर्फ ईसाई धर्म के प्रवर्तक थे बल्कि एक महान समाज सुधारक भी थे। उन्होंने अपने जीवन काल में व्याप्त सामाजिक बुराइयों एवं धार्मिक आडंबरों का कड़ा विरोध किया तथा सत्य का मार्ग प्रशस्त करके भटकी हुई मानवता को नई दिशा दिखाई। इसलिए लाखों लोग उनके अनुयायी बन गये थे। लेकिन कुछ लोगों के मन में यीशु के प्रति घृणा और नफ़रत के भाव थे। इसी दुर्भावना से वशीभूत उन्होंने जीजस को सूली पर लटका दिया।

यद्यपि मानवता के इस पुजारी का बलिदान हो गया लेकिन उनका अध्यात्मिक जीवन, संदेश और आशीष वचन बाइबल आज भी लाखों युवा व प्रौढ़ में सामान रूप से प्रेरणा का स्रोत है। ईशा के सिद्धांत का प्रचार और प्रसार आज विश्व के अधिकांश देशों में बड़ी तेजी से हो रहा है। उनके अनुयायियों की संख्या सारे देश में बड़ी तेजी से बढ़ती जा रही है। 

ईसा मसीह का जन्म –  

ईसाई मान्यताओं के अनुसार आज से लगभग दो हजार साल पहले नासरत में गेब्रियल नामक एक स्वर्गदूत ने मानवीय गुणों से युक्त मरियम और युसुफ़ नामक दंपत्ति को दर्शन दिया और कहा कि आप पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से माँ बनेंगी और एक पुत्र को जन्म देंगी जिसका नाम यीशु रखा जाएगा।

इसके बाद ईश्वर की असीम कृपा से मरियम गर्भवती हुयी और उन्होंने 25 दिसम्बर को जेरूसलम के पास बेतलहम गाँव में ‘यीशु’ को जन्म दिया। माता मरियम ने जन्म के समय ईसा मसीह का नाम यीशु रखा। इस शब्द से अभिप्राय मुक्ति प्रदान करने वालों से है।

अपने नाम के अनुरूप ईसा मसीह ने जीवनभर मानवता के उद्धार के लिए कार्य किया । यहाँ तक कि अपने जीवन के अंतिम पल के अंतिम संघर्ष में उन्होंने शूली की महायातना को लोकहित में स्वीकारा। इस दिन को गुड फ्राइडे के रूप में मनाया जाता है। 

ऐसा माना जाता है कि इस दिन  भगवान यीशु मसीह पुनः जीवित हो उठे थे और 40 दिन तक सबके बीच रहे थे। इस दौरान उन्होंने सभी को ज्ञान की बातें सिखाई। कहा जाता है कि 40 दिनों बाद वह स्वर्ग चले गए। तब से लाखों करोड़ों श्रद्धालू और विश्वस्त भक्त जन क्रिसमस डे पर यीशु मसीह को याद करते हैं इस आशा से कि वे पुनः पुनर्जन्म लेंगें।

क्रिसमस को मनाने की तैयारी –

क्रिसमस का त्यौहार भले 24 दिसंबर की रात से मनना शुरू होता है, पर इसकी तैयारी दिसंबर महीने के पहले पड़ने वाले रविवार से ही शुरू हो जाती हैं। पूरा बाजार भी स्टार से लेकर क्रिसमस ट्री, सीनरी, सुन्दर ग्लासेज आदि से भर जाता है। 

वहीं क्रिसमस के दिन लोग अपने घरों तथा गिरजाघरों की अच्छी तरह से सफाई एवं सजावट करने के साथ-साथ खुद को भी शुद्ध और पवित्र करते हैं ताकि प्रभु येशु उनके हृदय में वास कर सकें। खुद को शुद्ध करने के लिए लोग दान-दक्षिणा भी इस दिन बड़ी उदारता से देते हैं, उपहार देते हैं और आपसी मनमुटाव को प्रेम के माध्यम से दूर करने का प्रयास करते हैं।
