For example, maybe the writer didn’t want to end up in the same work as their parents. Or maybe it was the parents’ lack of belief in the writer that pushed them to pursue a better future.

Let’s have a look at what a body paragraph can look like for our 250 word essay.

From as far back as I can remember, I knew I didn’t want to follow in the footsteps of my parents, at least not when it came to work. Notice how we summarize the main point of the essay in the first sentence. We then connect the first sentence to the a conclusion we arrive at. Finally we end in an optimistic tone by stating how this has been helpful and we are grateful. Unlike the introduction paragraph, which flows from broad sentences to specific, a conclusion generally flows the opposite way, from specific sentences to broader concepts.

Word count: Concluding paragraph 61 words. Total essay is now 242 words.

Sure, we came up 8 words short. But being that close should not be considered an issue. If for some reason you are required to write 250 words minimum, you can make the essay longer by sprinkling in a few extra words.

I was constantly reminded by the rich students why I don’t belong to their world and if not for the scholarship I wouldn’t even be breathing the same air they breathe.

This is true though, and as much as I wanted to flunk school, I couldn’t because attending a prestigious school was going to help my college application. So also would maintaining an outstanding college grade. I used to find trash in my bags, lockers and basically everything I brought to school.

Like all things that had a beginning this came to an end. I don’t know how it did but it did and I’m forever grateful that it did. I know I should analyze the root cause for the abrupt end, but I’m only human. Life is not a bed of rose, this I learned while still a student at (mention the name of the school).

I am an intelligent person and I always top my class. I guess my need to always top my class stem from my need to get the attention of my parents or from the need an escapist sentiments.

I am not a blusterous person, neither do I seek to impress anyone. I do not have lots of friend but my small circle of friends I cherish a lot. I am an observer. I try to learn a lot about the people I associate with, so I study their characters before I react. By studying others, I have learnt an awful lot which I have incorporated into my belief systems and general behaviour.

I mentioned earlier that I am quite religious. I was brought up into a Christian family. I have always gone to church every Sunday. My parents may never be around, but they always ensure that we all go to church on Sunday. I am generally good and I try to always do the right things to everyone. I live by the word and never on the edge. In fact, my life is quite plain and I never ever rebel. Not once in my whole life. I always take things in stride.

I am a 20 year-old student at the Imperial College of Modern Sciences. I am an independent and determined learner. My father once told me that knowledge is the most potent weapon and can be used to overcome any obstacles in life.

I used to show very little interest in my studies in my early years. My parents used to push and prod me to do well in school, but I never got their hope for my bright future. Due to my lack of interest in studying, I once received a humiliating comment from my father. I used to feel unwelcome among my close relatives since I was the only child who, in their eyes, showed little interest in academics. I promised myself that no matter what, I would fix this. One of the most important things you’ll need to consider before writing down tons of adjectives to describe yourself is your audience, or the person/people who will be hearing or reading the words you choose to use.

Your audience will play a fairly significant role in the words you ultimately choose, as you’ll need to make sure you’re coming across to them the way you want to.

For example, if your audience is a potential employer, you should use describing words that make you sound like an ideal fit at the company and that help you stand apart from other candidates (if you’re not memorable, you likely won’t get the job!).

Here are the general types of describing words different audiences will want to hear when it comes to describing yourself:

For job interviews/cover letters: Positive describing words that emphasize your (relevant) skills, experience, professional interests, and company fit
For college applications: Positive words that express your authentic personality, academic accomplishments/skills, ambitions, and overall school fit
For online profiles: Positive words (though it might be worth throwing in some "flaws" for humorous effect or to stand out from others!) that stress your individual personality traits, skills, and interests — keep it casual, too!

Once you’ve got your audience down, it’s time to start thinking about your biggest strengths and most prominent personality traits.

Whenever you’re describing yourself, you should always emphasize your biggest strengths, that is, your very best qualities!

These can be any describing words that you personally see as strengths (even if others don’t think the same — it’s OK to try to change their minds). More importantly, these should be words that you feel best encapsulate who you are .

For example, I was once asked to describe myself in three words during a job interview. One of the words I used was "introverted" because I’ve always felt a strong connection to this word.

Though the word tends to have a slightly negative connotation, I took a bit of time to explain to my interviewers exactly why I saw introversion as a strength and how this trait would actually help me effectively perform my job.

So what’s the lesson? Don’t be afraid to be yourself — use words that reflect what you value in life and what you like most about yourself.

#3: Ask Others How They Would Describe You

If you’re struggling to figure out how to describe yourself, it’s a great idea to ask others close to you how they would describe you if asked by somebody else. Doing this can give you a clearer, more objective view of your strengths (and weaknesses) and help you figure out what types of words are most applicable to you.

If possible, ask a range of people to describe you, from family and friends to former coworkers.

For example, if you’re applying to college, it'll help to get describing words about you from those connected to the college application process , such as your teachers and recommendation letter writers .

I am a bright student in my school and do well in academic and sports activities. I am able to perform well in any stressful situation.

I am a very skilled and knowledgeable student in my school, study very hard for long periods. I never left my housework and class work incomplete and preferred to finish before bed.

My teachers like me a lot because of my goodness and punctuality. I never get tired and work hard because my parents always take care of me, they are always conscious of my health and diet.

Due to my academic tenure, I always get good marks and grades. I am a merit scholarship holder in my school.

I learn computers very well in my school and know everything about computers. I do everything according to my organized work.

I never escape from any of my tasks whether at home or at school. I always respect my parents and help my mother in her household tasks and my father in his office projects.

I share my mother’s compliment and recipes. I always keep my room clean and decorate every Sunday attractively.

I understand all my responsibilities towards myself and my family well. I always try to please my friends and classmates through my interesting jokes and good conversation.

I am always ready to offer advice and suggestions to get them out of their difficulties. I am very sympathetic to the girl and try to support old people and children in my colony or on the way.

Myself Essay 400 words:

I am the loving boy of my loving parents. I am 14 years old and studying in class 8, my name is Suresh Raina.

I study at Ryan Public School in Ghaziabad. My grandfather likes to call me Guddu and always takes me out in the morning and evening for a walk.

I live with my family in Rajnagar Colony in Ghaziabad.

I go to school with my school bus at 7 in the morning and come home at 2 in the afternoon.

I like to go to school in proper uniform. When I come to my class, I say good morning to my class teacher.

I enjoy the bus and lunch with my school friends. I always participate in sports activities and other extra-curricular activities.

My school organizes inter-school competitions every six months, in which I participate. I always get first rank in every competition.

To increase my awareness and knowledge, my school celebrates all the important events of the year like Independence Day, Republic Day, Christmas, 2 October, Mother’s Day, Teachers’ Day etc.

We are advised by our classroom teacher to participate in cultural activities while celebrating any event. I usually participate in poetry recitation or speech recitation.

I also like to dance but do not feel so comfortable dancing in the event celebrations. However, I attend the dance at the annual ceremony which is celebrated every year in the month of November.

My parents are also invited to the annual school ceremony, they take me on a picnic or long tour every holiday in winter or summer season.

I live in a very good society where some programs are organized from time to time to raise awareness among common people about social issues.

My father always takes me with him to participate in such programs.

My mother always teaches me about ethics and custom to make me a good citizen of India. I always keep my study room and bedroom neat and clean.
