Chandigarh is where I live. This is my home and I was born and raised here. I live in the most beautiful city in the country. Haryana and Punjab are both union territories of India and it is both their capitals.

In fact, Chandigarh is India’s first planned city. Its origins can be traced back to the period following independence. When India was partitioned, Punjab was likewise split. Lahore, the capital of Punjab, was incorporated into the newly formed Pakistan and the state was thus left without a capital. Chandigarh was planned as a capital for Punjab. Eastern Punjab was divided into two states in 1966. As a result, it came to be known as Haryana. Chandigarh is the capital of both Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh is known for its well-planned cityscape. All over the world, it is admired for its design and architecture. Pt. Devendranath, the then Indian Prime Minister, had visualized it as his dream city. A special care was taken to build the building that was built by Jawahar Lal Nehru.

It was designed by Albert Mayer, a prominent American architect. This city’s architecture is credited to popular French architect Le Corbusier. In the city, there are different sectors, and each sector has its own market and residential area. There are many beautiful trees in the city. Sector 1 of Chandigarh contains the artificial lake Sukhna Lake that is the city’s main attraction. A popular spot in the city since 1958, it was created in 1958. It has been built with a systematic approach by the people of Chandigarh.

It is not just that the city is well designed, but it is also kept very clean in every aspect. You won’t find any litter around as you would in other parts of the country. The police are extremely vigilant in the city when it comes to traffic. Here, breaking traffic rules is not allowed. All levels of discipline are maintained. Here, life is peaceful and harmonious.

Sukhna Lake – My Favourite Spot

Sukhna Lake is my favorite place in the city. Every day, the place becomes more happening. Mornings here are completely different from evenings. It’s peaceful and serene in the morning because the air is fresh. There is no better place to unwind and relax. Evenings are busy with boaters and snackers taking advantage of the lake’s amenities.

Children have also been provided with electronic swings. During the evening hours, the place is bustling with activity. It’s a great place to go out with friends and family. Both early morning and evening are convenient times for me to visit the location. Whether it is peaceful, quiet or crowded, I love it all.

My city is more than just my home. It is my lifeline. I would like to live here for the rest of my life. Any other city would not be as peaceful and happy for me.

I moved with my father to a new city when I was a young child. We have moved as many as four times since I was a child. Until I moved to Jaipur, I never thought there would be one place I could truly call home. We moved to this place less than two years ago, but it feels like home already.

My village is Baghjan Gaon, in the state of Assam. The nearest town is Doomdooma. Life in my village is quite peaceful. You can see only greenery wherever your eyes travel. There’s no pollution. The air is fresh and clean. My grandparents live in my village. I visit them with my parents during vacations. My grandparents live in a very beautiful bungalow. Grandpa is a doctor in the village hospital, and grandma is a homemaker. Most of the villagers work in the tea gardens. While some work in the fields to pluck leaves, some work in the factory in different departments. There’s a primary school where children get to learn new things every day. There is a big police station right in the centre. Forests are close to the village. There are wild animals. Tigers and snakes are very commonly seen on the outskirts of the village. I love my village because it makes me so happy when I visit. I look forward to every visit to Baghjan!

I wake up to the chirping of birds in the mornings. Life is so relaxed, though there’s so much work. People are not stressed like the people in the city. Most of the people in the village work in the tea gardens. They pluck leaves and work in the factory. There is a primary school and a high school that is newly built. There’s a bank. The hospital is close to our bungalow. It has quarters where the hospital staff live. My grandparents live in a beautiful bungalow provided by the government. My brother and I spend the whole day with the animals and go around the village. In the mornings, the cows are milked after their babies have finished drinking their mothers’ milk. Then, the cowherd and the shepherd take the cows and sheep for grazing. It’s a very different life from the cities. My grandfather goes to the hospital every morning. Besides the fixed duty hours, he goes to the hospital whenever he gets called. He also treats the villagers in the nearby villages. They all love him and give him fresh produce from their gardens. The people are not rich, but they are good at heart. In Baghlan, people usually grow their vegetables. I love to come and visit Baghjan Gaon!

Introduction

The name of my city is Agra. It stands on the bank of Yamuna River. It is not far from Delhi, Aligarh, Mathura and Bharatpur.

The climate of the city is not good. It becomes very hot in the summer. In the rainy season, mosquitos are a major problem. The winter is chilly. So the climate is an average here in Agra, not quite conducive for health.

The city is big. The population here is increasing day by day. Its population is around 15.9 lakhs according to the 2011 survey. People of every caste, creed and religion live here. But the Hindus are in majority.

It is a business centre, Sadar Bazaar is the popular shopping spots, and other market places are Kinari Bazar, Subhash Bazaar, Raja Ki Mandi, Shahganj Bazaar, TDI Mall and many more.

Many big publishing houses and bookseller are on the hospital road. Dayal Bagh is one of the posh colony. Johri Bazaar and Raja Ki Mandi are very crowded.

The famous Taj Mahal stands here ( Seven Wonders of the World ). It was built by King Shah Jahan. Jama Masjid is also a very grand building.

The great Moghul Akbar’s famous fort is a fine building. Besides these, Mankameshwar temple is a place worth seeing.

There are many first-rate shoe factories. There are also some carpet factories. In Dayal Bagh colony, there are some factories.

School and Hospitals

It is an Education hub. It has a university and degree colleges. There many inter colleges and schools, and medical college. It is attached with Sarojini Naidu hospital. In Dayal Bagh, there is an engineering college, and some reputed hospitals also.

I love my city Agra very much. People come here from every part of the world to see the Taj, Agra is also known as a city of Taj.
