Essay on My Favourite Game Badminton for Students and Children (1000 Words)

Badminton is my favourite sport amongst all the sports that I know. This sport makes me more active and healthy in doing something that uses strength and speed.

I believe badminton is the most beautiful sport, and every time I play, there is some excitement and anxiety in the end. In the final round, there has to be a winner that makes the battle even more exciting.

Why Badminton is My Favourite Game?

I started playing badminton game when I was only ten years because of various reasons. My father was a professional player, and he kept encouraging me to join in during the practice sessions.

He influenced my attitude towards playing badminton sport, and from then, I learned most of the skills by observing him in many professional tournaments where he usually emerges as the winner. I also developed an interest in this game because after playing, it makes me feel relaxed, getting rid of all the stress.

I prefer playing badminton instead of just playing computer games or going shopping. Playing this game reminds me of how my father taught me some simple techniques to defend myself from bullying guys that temper me.

I hit them with the ball. It was one of the first lessons that my father taught me to defend myself instead of relying on my elder brother in school.

How to Play Badminton Game?

Playing badminton is easy, and all you must require is a shuttlecock and two rackets. The shuttlecock acts like a ball and is made from a goose feather attached to a small piece of cork.

The rackets for playing are lightweight, around 90 to 100 grams. While playing, you must smash the light shuttlecock towards the opponent’s direction. In badminton, players require a lot of energy to make sure that the shuttlecock crosses the next towards the opposite direction.

These types of shuttle are still used nowadays. But the shuttles are made from synthetic materials allowed by BWF, which is a short name for Badminton World Federation. So, this essay is an insight into my favourite game, and the rules and regulations followed worldwide.

While playing, there are six major shorts, and these are the forehand drive, the backhand drive, the smash, the drop, the clearing, and the serve. Badminton is played over a rectangular court that has a division in the middle using a net.

Badminton is like tennis; the only difference is that the net is raised higher, and the ball is lighter. The name “badminton” was derived from the house of Duke of Beaufort, in England, and there the first game was being played.

Challengers and Friends During Playing My Favourite Sport Badminton

I play badminton during my free time because I can have a bond with my family and friends. My friends and I have played so many competitions, and I have even reached the finals.

The most interesting thing about playing this game is that the more you play, the more you feel challenged by the opponent. This game also reminds me when the first that my father gave.

The common in this sport is even it is not played always, it was easily remembered. The common in playing badminton is the more you play, the more friends you’ll get challenged, and know that you are a great player.

Badminton is a sport for 2 or 4 people. The game is played by either player against one player or a team of two players against another team of two players. The players use rackets to hit a shuttle over a net.

Badminton aims to hit the shuttlecock over the net in a way that the other player or pairs cannot hit is back properly prior to it hits the floor. Every time this is done, the player receives one point.

He also gets to serve, and the first player or pair to reach 21 points wins a game. Here, the winner of the match is the first to win two sets.

History of Badminton Game

Badminton traces back its history to a game called George Cajoles that was played in Pune, India, in the 19th century by British military officers. That game was taken by retired officers back to England, where it developed and quickly grew in popularity.

In 1877, the foremost written rules were arranged by the newly formed Bath Badminton Clun. The All England Open Badminton Championship was held in 1899. This game has been an Olympic sport since 1992, and even if it originated in England, it has mainly been played in countries of Asia such as India, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, and China that now dominate this sport.

Like mentioned earlier, badminton game is based on the country estate for the dukes of Beaufort in England. Further, this game was played there and trace to ancient India, Greece, and China. Also, this game was closely related to kid’s game battledore and shuttlecock.

The BWF famously is the governing body for the sport worldwide formed in 1934. Also, the first championship under Badminton World Federation was held in 1977. Now, there are several zonal, regional, and national tournaments that help in different countries.

One of the famous tournaments in badminton game is All England championships, and others include the Thomas Cup & Uber Cup.

Badminton Game in Olympic

The Badminton was introduced in the Olympics for the first time in 1972 as a demonstration sport. While at the 1992 Olympics, the game was under the complete medal category. Further, this competition included both women and men mixed doubles being introduced in the 1996 Olympics.

Competition for badminton all round is played indoor because even the lightest of wind can affect the course of the shuttlecock. Further, recreational badminton is played outside and is a famous outdoor activity. The court of badminton is rectangular 13.4 m long and 5.2 m wide for the singles match. Further, the net is 1.5 m high and stretches throughout the width of the court at the centre.

There is a clear space of 1.3 m around the court that is required. The play in badminton comprises volleying and hitting the shuttlecock back and forth across the next. Now, it should be borne in mind that the shuttlecock shouldn’t touch the floor or ground within the court boundaries.

Importance of Playing Badminton Game

My Favorite Sport Badminton Essay

Badminton is my favorite activity because playing it helps me stay active throughout the day. Playing it requires speed, strength, and precision. To become a good player, he or she needs to practice frequently.

People Playing Badminton

When I play it with my friends, I feel energetic throughout the day. Playing it feeds my body with the much-needed energy to help me go through each day. It is an interesting game because every time I play, there is some anxiety mixed with excitement in the end. At the end of the game, there has to be a winner, and this makes the battle more exciting.

When and Why I Started Playing My Favorite Game Badminton

I started playing badminton when I was only 9 years old. It was my uncle, a professional player, who first got me interested in the game. I joined in on his practice sessions whenever I was free. I learned most of my skills by observing my uncle play in most professional tournaments where he usually emerges as the winner. I also developed an interest in playing it because after playing I feel relaxed and destressed.

When I feel low, I prefer playing it instead of just going shopping or playing computer games. The game often reminds me of how my father taught me some simple techniques for defending myself from bullies by hitting them with the ball. It was one of the first lessons my father taught me on how to defend myself instead of relying on my big brother in school.

How to Play Badminton

Playing it is easy. With two rackets and a shuttlecock, you can get a game going. The shuttlecock, which is essentially the “ball” in badminton, is made from goose feathers and attached to a small piece of cork. The rackets for playing are light, weighing about 90 grams.

When playing, you need to smash the shuttlecock in the opponent’s direction. Players need a lot of energy to ensure that the shuttlecock crosses over the net in the opposite direction. Shot-wise, there are six main types of shots: the serve, the clear, the drop, the smash, the backhand drive, and the forehand drive.

A Woman Playing Badminton

Badminton is played on a rectangular court. Like tennis. the court is halved with a net; the only difference is that the net is raised higher and the ball is lighter. The game was derived from the house of Duke of Beaufort, in England, where the first game of badminton was played.

The best part about playing badminton is that it gives me a reason to gather my friends and family and spend time with them. My friends and I have played in several competitions, but I have never reached the finals until recently – I was the finalist in the Austrian badminton open tournament for teenagers. In the end, I was the second runner-up.

The most interesting thing about badminton is that the more you play, the more you feel challenged by your opponent. Getting involved in the game frequently makes you want to perfect your skills and become a great player.

Side view of black and white young male tennis player standing on court with racket and looking away

Playing it is more fun, engaging, and fulfilling than spending time immersed in computer games. Having played this game for a long time, my body is in great shape, and I have made many friends along the way. To me, it is more than a sport that keeps me active. It is a great way for me to unwind, destress, and meet new people.

Have you ever tried playing badminton? If not, it is a great time to start. Find someone who plays and get coached on the basics of the sport. I guarantee that all the stress you’ve experienced on that day will melt away. Once you have mastered the basics, try getting involved in a singles match and see how well you fare. Competition has a way of bringing out your need for excellence and drive to succeed.

Even if you’re not sure if you’ll like it, give it a try. You never know if it will eventually become your favorite activity or if you’ll end up joyfully winning your first championship in a few years’ time.

Short Essay On My Favorite Game Badminton

For many people it’s basketball, and for some, it’s volleyball. But to me, badminton is the sport that makes me feel happy, energized, inspired, and fulfilled. I never really thought that I would end up playing competitively and be so attached to the game, but it has now become a regular and important part of my life. I can no longer imagine my weekends without it.

An indoor game played with two rackets and a light shuttlecock, badminton is quite heavy on running and arm work. The shuttlecock flies on a different trajectory than other sports “balls,” so you would really need a lot of practice to get used to its impact on your racket. It is also an Olympic sport. I love watching the matches with my other friends during Olympics season.

More than a way to maintain a good weight and stay active, badminton has become a way for me to destress after long days. It has also helped me find people who share the same love for the sport. I play singles matches or mixed doubles with my friends every weekend, and we always make it a point to bring in someone who is new to the sport.

At the end of the day, badminton is a vital part of my life that I hope to keep in the years to come. No matter how busy I get, I know that this passion of mine will sustain me through the darker days.

How To Explain Why Badminton Is My Favorite Game?

To explain why it is near and dear to your heart, you have to go beyond explaining the basics of the game, its history, and the most popular techniques. You have to get personal as you write your essay. Think about how far back your love for the game goes. What started it? Who inspired you? Was there a particular moment in your life when you decided that you finally couldn’t live without it? What kind of joy or thrill do you get out of it? Identify all the ways in which the sport has added value to your life and write convincingly, with the goal of encouraging the reader to give it a try. Your goal at the end of the day is to deepen appreciation of it, especially if they are not as well-versed in the game.

Why Is Badminton An Indoor Sport?

Many people are probably wondering why badminton isn’t an outdoor sport. If you’ve ever tried playing it outdoors, you will notice that there is an increased difficulty in getting the game going due to many weather factors. Most commonly, the wind changes the trajectory of the light shuttlecock, which affects its course no matter how well you hit or aim at it. Even a light wind or gentle breeze can completely affect the direction and pace of your shuttlecock. Many times they will end up getting caught in the air and dropping down completely mid-way.

1-minute Speech on Badminton

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, let’s talk about an amazing game today – badminton. This is a sport that’s easy to learn, fun to play, and great for your health.

Badminton is a game of speed and skill. You need quick reflexes to hit the shuttlecock, and a sharp mind to plan your moves. It’s like a fast-paced chess game, but with rackets and a net! You don’t just use your hands and arms, but your whole body. This makes badminton a full-body workout.

Now, think about the shuttlecock. It’s a unique part of badminton. It’s light, it’s fast, and it can fly in any direction. It’s not like a ball that just goes straight. The shuttlecock can make the game unpredictable and exciting.

Here’s something else about badminton. It’s a game for everyone. You don’t need to be tall, strong, or fast. You just need a racket, a shuttlecock, and a friend to play with. You can play it in your backyard, in a park, or in a sports hall. It’s a game that brings people together.

In conclusion, badminton is a fantastic game. It’s fun, it’s exciting, and it’s good for your health. So, why not pick up a racket and give it a try? You might just find your new favorite sport. Thank you.

And the better you get, the more you enjoy the game. It’s a journey of learning and improving, step by step.

Badminton is also a great way to make friends and build relationships. It’s a game that you can play with anyone, anywhere. You can play it in your backyard, in a park, or in a sports club. My Favourite Sport Essay 100 words

I am a great fan of basketball. I used to practice this game since I was in class 5th. My parents and my coach encouraged me a lot to perform well in my favourite sport. I believe that it is a game that combines strategy, athleticism, and teamwork . The best thing I like about this sport is the dribbling of the basketball. I love playing basketball with my friends at the society’s basketball court.

We used to gather every evening at 6:30 and play a match regularly to maintain the stamina and the pace of precision shooting. The winning situation in this game is completely dependent on teamwork, the result could be truly magical. Basketball is the sport that keeps me captivated with its adrenaline-pumping excitement.

Essay on My Favourite Sport 250 words

My favourite sport is everyone’s favourite. Yes, Cricket it is. Cricket is often known as the ‘ Gentleman’s Game .’ Almost every Indian loves cricket for us this sport is not just a game it is an emotion. The entire Nation keeps a keen eye on the World Cup match when our country is performing.

My idol is Hon’ble Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. In my childhood, I tried to copy their style and always wished to be a good cricket player. As it is rightly said ‘Practice makes a Man Perfect.’ I also believed in it and practised with my school cricket team to become a good cricket player. My endurance and dedication helped me to secure the position of opening batsman for the school cricket team and we are presenting our school at the district-level cricket competition.

The main reason cricket resonates with me is its rich history and traditions. It’s a sport that has been played for centuries, and it carries with it a sense of timelessness. The iconic venues, the legends of the game, and the celebrated rivalries all contribute to the sport’s allure. Whether it’s the Ashes battles between England and Australia or the fervent India-Pakistan contests, cricket has a way of gripping the hearts and minds of fans around the world.

Cricket not only teaches sportsmanship but also helps us learn about teamwork, patience, dedication, etc. My dream is to build a successful cricket career. To accomplish my goals I am planning to take admission in the cricket academy and learn from experts.

In conclusion, cricket is more than a sport to me; it’s a culture, a passion, and a source of endless joy in my life. Its rich heritage, technical intricacies, and life lessons will forever held close to my heart.

Essay on My Favourite Sport Badminton

Among all the indoor and outdoor activities, I love to play badminton the most. Badminton is played as an indoor and outdoor game but traditionally it was an indoor game. It is one of the most admired sports among children and adults. Badminton is my favourite sport because it requires speed, practice, precision, stamina, and accuracy all at the same time.

A player needs to be very attentive while playing badminton. When each stroke of the shuttle makes a ‘whoosh’ sound, it infuses a feeling of competitiveness and enthusiasm to perform extraordinarily against the opponent.

I am a huge admirer of Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu. Watching them perform makes me feel so proud and more inclined towards the sport. It’s my dream to play a badminton tournament at the National level and win for the country.
