How to hide my Facebook reviews

For many businesses, Facebook reviews are bittersweet. Customer review platforms provide transparency and social proof so that anyone can see for themselves what a particular brand is like. But sometimes, negativity can take hold.

Online reviews are vital to success because customers trust other customers more than the brands in question. But what happens when the review is from someone who was never a customer to begin with?

When a negative review appears on your brand’s Facebook page, you may wish to take it down. In this article, we tell you how and what considerations to make in the process.

How do Facebook reviews work?

Facebook reviews are much like any customer review platform – customers simply rate their experience out of five and share comments. They can even add tags like “great coffee” or “relaxing atmosphere”. When other customers find the Facebook page, they can check these reviews to decide if they want to engage with the brand themselves.

Facebook is the most used social platform worldwide and the social media giant has 2.91 billion active users each month. So what does that mean for your business? In a word, exposure. If your business is active on Facebook, you can be found by anyone with access to the internet. Unfortunately, anyone of those people can visit your business's Facebook page and leave a review – whether they are real customers or not.

If your Facebook page is full of these spam reviews, real customers could be deterred. Fortunately, there is something you can do about it.

How to remove Facebook reviews

If the negative reviews are overwhelming, you can delete them. Unfortunately, to do so, you have to remove all the other reviews too. If you decide this is worth it, follow these steps:

  • Open Facebook and go to your business page.
  • Click the ‘Settings’ menu.
  • Select ‘Templates and Tabs’.
  • Set the ‘Reviews’ button to ‘Off’. It should turn grey and save automatically.

From this point on, no customer will be able to leave a review and all existing reviews will be hidden from the public.

Pros and cons of deleting Facebook reviews

Now for the big question – is it a good idea to remove Facebook reviews? The answer will depend on your business and the types of reviews you are receiving. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of each approach:

Pros and cons of removing Facebook reviews

With spam accounts and negativity taking over, removing reviews is tempting. Here are the upsides and downsides of taking this step:

Pros of removing Facebook reviews

  • Removes spam customers.
  • You can reach out to unhappy customers and resolve sensitive issues discreetly.

Cons of removing Facebook reviews

  • People can still share negative comments through posts, forums, or groups.
  • Positive reviews are also lost.
  • It appears dishonest and misleading.
  • Customers tend to avoid brands that hide their ratings.

Pros and cons of making Facebook reviews public

Fortunately, leaving Facebook reviews up is a viable option – even if your negative reviews are currently out of control. The pros and cons include:

Pros of making Facebook reviews public

  • You can use them to improve your processes.
  • Your responses demonstrate quality customer service.
  • Positive reviews help to generate growth.
  • It builds trust through transparency and authenticity.
  • Prospects can see social proof.

Cons of making Facebook review public

  • Fake customers can leave reviews.
  • Negative reviews will influence your average rating.

It is tempting to remove reviews altogether, but consider how it could hurt your reputation. Instead of hiding from negativity – face it and use it. What you do with these reviews says more about your brand than the review itself, so here are a few tips for getting started:

How to improve your Facebook reviews

With all the above pros and cons, there is one more thing to consider. While you can’t pick and choose which reviews to display, you can influence how many positive reviews you receive from now on. In fact, you hold more power in this than you might think. With no need for bribery or fake accounts, the following tips will help to generate more positive reviews and keep the negative ones to a minimum:

Use feedback to improve your CX

In some cases, the negative reviews you receive are coming from a place of truth. Unfortunately, the only way to beat this cycle is to act on the feedback and make relevant improvements. But, before it gets to that stage, why not ask for customer feedback internally? This way you can resolve issues before customers share them publicly.

Communicate with a positive attitude

Even if the review itself is negative, you can use your response to your benefit. Other customers will see how you interact with negative reviews, so be sure to show how reasonable, accommodating, and empathetic your brand is with the language you use. Not only will this look better from a new customer's point of view, but it could even lead the original reviewer to change their mind.

Make it easy for customers to leave reviews

Don’t forget – you have plenty of customers who can leave positive reviews too! All you need to do is provide them with an easy pathway to the Facebook review page. Don’t ask them to follow a series of complicated steps because more often than not, they simply won’t do it. Instead, use a clear, one-step route like a campaign link. These can be shared across any communication channel and take the customer directly to the right place. The simpler this process, the higher the response rate will be.

With the Review Tui platform, you can connect to Facebook and use campaign links with ease. With all the happiest customers flocking to share their praise, those negative reviews will soon be forgotten.

How Businesses Can Remove a Bad Review on Facebook

This page has been  peer-reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by qualified attorneys  to ensure substantive accuracy and coverage.

In today’s digital world, online reviews on social media sites like Facebook can be pivotal for your business. Fake and negative reviews can do catastrophic damage to your online reputation—which is why it is critical to know how to remove a bad review on Facebook .

To hide or remove a bad Facebook review from your business page , you can:

  • Report the review if it violates Facebook’s community standards,
  • Report the reviewer as a fake account, or
  • Turn reviews off completely by navigating to your page’s settings, clicking Templates and Tabs, and toggling Reviews to “off.”

At Minc Law, we frequently help our clients deal with negative online reviews and publicity. We have extensive experience eliminating and removing damaging online reviews as quickly and efficiently as possible, without drawing unwanted attention or worsening the situation.

In this article, we discuss how to report a fake Facebook review, what circumstances constitute a violation of Facebook’s community standards, how to respond to bad reviews , and how to disable reviews from your Facebook account entirely if necessary.

Dealing with fake business reviews?

Let us help you explore your removal options and craft an effective strategy.

How to Report Fake Facebook Reviews

As one of the most popular social media channels in the world, Facebook is extremely susceptible to social media defamation , including fake reviews. Disgruntled customers, competitors, or even bored social media users may find it all too easy to create an anonymous account and assault your brand with fake and misleading reviews.

Video: What to Do If You Are the Target of Social Media Defamation

Thankfully, as a business owner, you have recourse. Below, we explain how to recognize, report, and remove bad reviews below.

How Much Damage Can a Fake Facebook Review Do to Your Reputation?

As a business in the digital age, your online reputation cannot be understated. And reviews of your business are quickly becoming one of the most influential pieces of word-of-mouth marketing that potential customers check to decide whether to do business with you.

In fact, 90% of customers who researched a business online cited positive reviews as a factor in their eventual decision to buy the product.

But just as positive reviews can influence customers to purchase, negative reviews (even fake ones) can have a devastating effect on your business. According to one 2018 Reviewtrackers study, 94% of respondents stated that an online review has convinced them to avoid a business.

Since most internet users will not be able to spot a false review, a fake negative review of your business has the potential to do lasting damage to your business and bottom line.

How Do You Report a Fake Facebook Review?

Generally, there are three ways to report reviews:

  • Report the review as a member of the general public;
  • Report the review through your Facebook business page; or
  • Report the reviewer as a fake account.

Regardless of the reporting option you choose for a fake review, be aware that Facebook generally does not remove reviews unless they contain words or a comment . So if a reviewer simply left a one-star review or rating without comment, you need to comment on it yourself before reporting that review. Otherwise, your report will be ignored.

Option 1: Report Facebook Reviews as a Member of the General Public

On every review, there are three dots in the top right corner. Click those dots to get started. Press the last option, titled either “find support” or “report recommendation.”

Reporting a review on Facebook

You can then send a report based on your recommendation.

Reporting a review on Facebook step two

If you reported the review for a community standards violation, Facebook’s administrators will first confirm that to be the case. If they agree with your assessment, they will remove the post.

Option 2: Report Facebook Reviews Through Your Facebook Business Page

The second way to report a Facebook review is to report it as a business owner through your business page portal.

This reporting process is the same as Option 1 above, except that you are reporting it as the business owner. Simply click the three dots in the top right corner of the review, select “find support” or ”report recommendation,” and select the reason for reporting the post.

Option 3: Report the Reviewer as a Fake Account

Finally, when individuals post fake reviews, they sometimes create false accounts to do so. Facebook’s community standards do not allow fake accounts, so reporting the account is another way to have the review removed.

If you have reason to believe the reviewer is using a fake account, you can report the user’s account as false.

To report a fake Facebook account, simply:

  • Navigate to the profile of the fake account,
  • Click under the cover photo and select “Find support or report profile,” and
  • Follow the on-screen instructions for fake accounts to file a report.

Reporting a fake Facebook account is an effective way to not only combat internet defamation but Facebook sextortion as well.

When Will Facebook Remove Fake Reviews?

Facebook will remove fake reviews when the review team confirms that the review is completely unfair, or if it contains one of the following types of content that constitutes a violation of Facebook’s community standards.

Violence & Criminal Behavior

Facebook removes language that incites or facilitates serious violence. Posts that fall under this category include statements with a credible threat to the public or personal safety or those that coordinate harm or publicize a crime.

Groups or individuals that are involved in terrorist activity, organized crime, murder, or human trafficking are also banned from having a Facebook presence.

While Facebook does allow users to share experiences and raise awareness of issues such as self-harm or suicide, the platform does not allow posts in celebration or promotion of these ideas. Posts about exploitation (sexual or otherwise) and bullying or harassment are also expressly prohibited.

Facebook also removes content that reveals personally identifiable information and financial, residential, or medical information that could lead to physical or financial harm.

Objectionable Content

Facebook agrees to remove content that would be considered objectionable and disturbing to a reasonable audience. Content Facebook defines as objectionable includes hate speech, violent and graphic content, adult nudity and sexual activity, and sexual solicitation.

Integrity & Authenticity

Misleading and inauthentic behavior is also discouraged by Facebook. Users are required to create accounts in their own name, not a pseudonym or fake identity. Spamming, cyberattacks, spreading fake news and manipulated media, and misrepresentations of identity are also banned.

Respecting Intellectual Property

While posters own the content they post on Facebook, that content can be removed if it violates another person’s intellectual property rights (ex. copyright infringement ). Posting content that violates copyrights, trademarks, and other legal rights are prohibited in Facebook’s Terms of Service.

Content-Related Requests & Decisions

Finally, Facebook removes accounts if the user requests the removal of their own account, or if a deceased user’s immediate family member or executor requests the account’s removal. Incapacitated users’ accounts can also be removed at the request of an authorized representative.

Additionally, Facebook will comply with requests for removal of an underage account, government requests for removal of child abuse imagery, or legal guardian requests for removal of attacks on unintentionally famous minors.

How Can You Tell if a Review on Facebook is Fake?

Reporting a fake review or fake profile is only useful if you have a way to tell if the review is false in the first place. For this purpose, it is helpful to keep detailed business records so that you can consult your customer database or transaction records when a negative customer review does appear on your Facebook page.

Does that negative review come from an account username that matches or closely resembles an existing customer? Do you have a customer complaint “on file” that seems to match the events recounted in the review? If so, perhaps a reply with deft customer service skills can resolve the issue.

If the review does not appear to align with any of your business records, it may indeed be fake. In that case, check the user’s profile. Look for the following red flags indicating a fake online review :

  • Was the account created on the same day as—and apparently for the sole purpose of—the review itself?
  • Is the account username a play on words, such as “Seymore Butts”?
  • When a reverse image search is conducted of the user’s profile picture, was it clearly copied from somewhere else?
  • Is the language of the review riddled with grammatical errors or inaccurate descriptions of the service or product your business provides?

How to Remove a Bad Review on Facebook

While some negative Facebook reviews are made by anonymous posters with fake accounts, not all bad reviews are necessarily fake ones.

As a local business owner, it is important to understand your options when presented with a negative and potentially harmful review that you cannot prove is false.

When Can You Not Remove a Bad Review on Facebook?

Generally, Facebook will not remove a negative review unless it is a flagrant and/or obvious violation of Facebook’s community standards.

In all other cases, Facebook will most likely not take down the review. The review will remain connected to your page unless you take action through one of the steps below, or the author removes the review themselves.

How Do You Remove a One-Star Rating on Facebook?

There are usually only three ways to deal with a one-star review on Facebook:

  • Convince the original poster to remove it, either voluntarily through customer service response, or involuntarily through litigation;
  • Report the post to Facebook and ask them to remove it for a violation of the community standards; or
  • Encourage actual customers and clients to post positive reviews, which will improve your rating.

Even if a negative review has not been posted, we recommend that all businesses proactively obtain as many positive reviews as is ethical and practical for online reputation management purposes. After all, the more positive reviews your business has, the less of an impact a negative review will make on your online reputation .

Online Reputation Management Fact: Online reputation management (ORM) is a set of strategies and tools that enables individuals and businesses to take direct control over the search results that appear when someone Googles their name. ORM may be the right choice for you if negative online content about you is newsworthy, related to a serious crime, or viral.

How to Remove a Bad Rating on Facebook Marketplace

Many Facebook users sell items on Facebook Marketplace, a common space run by Facebook where users can buy and sell items from each other. Facebook Marketplace is not the same as individual business pages, but negative product reviews can still plague sellers on that part of the platform.

You can report a review on Facebook Marketplace by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner of the review. Click “Report Review” and follow the on-screen prompts to report the reasons for the reviewer’s violation of the Facebook community standards.

Who Do You Contact at Facebook to Remove a Bad Review?

Unfortunately, there is no one to contact to report a negative review about your business.

As noted above, all reports must start by clicking on the three dots at the top right of the review and filing a report. Facebook’s administrators will review the report and decide whether to remove the bad Facebook review if it does violate their community standards.

Responding to Bad Facebook Reviews

When your business is faced with a negative review online, it can be tempting to fire back with a heated response. But often, responding to a review can do more harm than good.

Below, we provide information on how to respond appropriately, when you should refrain from responding at all, and other ways to deal with a negative review.

How Can You Respond Appropriately to Negative Facebook Reviews?

When your business receives a negative review, it is sometimes advisable to respond with a courteous comment. After all, many reviews are based on unrealistic expectations or inaccurate assumptions about your business that can be resolved with quality customer service.

While we do not always recommend responding to a bad Facebook review (see below), keep the following tips in mind when you do respond:

  • Be non-confrontational. Resist the urge to be defensive; instead, acknowledge the customer’s concerns.
  • Be sympathetic. Even if the complaint is unfounded, show compassion for the person who is upset. If applicable, assure them that the issue is being addressed and/or resolved.
  • Be timely. Most users expect a brand to respond within a few hours, so try to send an appropriate response as soon as possible.
  • Keep it concise. Stay short and sweet—and try to move the conversation offline as soon as possible. Invite the commenter to email your customer service department or send you a private message to continue the exchange.

The key to appropriate review response is to demonstrate the right balance of compassionate, courteous, and informational.

When Should You Not Respond to Negative Facebook Reviews?

In many situations, however, it is not advisable to respond to a negative review. If your local business is not in an industry that relies on a high volume of reviews (such as food, retail, travel, etc.), it may not be worth your while to respond.

In some circumstances, a bad response will only worsen the situation. Sometimes, interacting with a negative review will only draw more attention to it, since many platforms display reviews that have more comments and responses first.

And responding to a negative review also decreases the chances that Facebook will remove it for a violation of its community standards later. When platforms like Facebook evaluate a removal request and see responses, they tend to assume that the business has already dealt with the issue and no further action is needed.

How Do You Deal With Negative Comments on Facebook?

Some negative reviews on Facebook come from genuinely dissatisfied customers. However, other posters are unreasonably malicious. In those cases, it is most often the best course to spend your energy trying to block, report, and hide that review from the public eye.

Block the Poster

If you know the poster is not acting in good faith, the simplest course is to block them. To block a user, simply click the three dots next to their profile and select “block.” If a user is blocked by you, they cannot see you or your posts, and you cannot see them.

How to block a user on Facebook

Depending on the issue at hand, you can instead choose to “Hide ALL,” which will prevent you from seeing the user’s posts without blocking them. In that case, the user can still see you, but you will not see them.

Report the Poster

You can also report the malicious user by selecting the three dots next to their profile and clicking on “Find support or report profile.”

Then, select a reason for reporting the user.

Facebook select a problem

Depending on the feedback you give, you may also be asked to submit a separate report to Facebook.

Hide the Comment From the Post

If the content in question is a comment on your own post, you have the option to hide the comment from continuing to appear.

How to hide Facebook comments

The user will not know the comment was hidden, but other Facebook users will no longer be able to see it.

Can you Delete Comments on a Facebook Business Page?

As a business owner, you also have the option to delete the comment. Of course, unlike hiding the comment, choosing to delete it means that the commenter will know it has been removed.

How to delete a Facebook comment

Facebook also contains settings that allow business owners to filter and moderate comments. Turning on these settings allow you to:

  • Moderate and approve all comments,
  • Select age restrictions for posters,
  • Determine posters’ tagging ability,
  • Set a profanity filter, and
  • Select certain words to be blocked from the page.

To alter these settings, go to your business page and click “Settings” in the left column.

Manage Facebook page settings

Then, adjust the various page settings to match your preferences.

Manage Facebook page settings step two

Can You Block Someone From Leaving a Review on Facebook?

By following the steps listed above, you can block specific users from being able to interact with your business Facebook page in the future—including leaving a review. Simply click the three dots next to their profile and select “block.”

Minc Law Defamation Tip: Many business owners are tempted to call a negative review defamatory. However, there is a difference between a bad review and defamation . A negative review that was written by an actual customer describing their real, negative experience with your business is legal and not defamatory. A bad review becomes defamation if the reviewer lies about being a customer or lies about their experience. For more information about when you can sue for a negative review, see our article: Can You Sue for a Bad Review?

How to Turn Off & Delete Facebook Reviews

Unfortunately, Facebook reviews cannot be hidden or blocked the same way comments can. To take action without waiting for Facebook’s administrators, your simplest option is to turn off your page’s reviews altogether.

Where Can You Turn Off Facebook Reviews in Your Settings?

Some business owners prefer to avoid dealing with Facebook reviews at all. To turn recommendations on or off for your business page, navigate to your page and click ‘Settings’ in the left-hand menu.

Manage business profile page

Click “Templates and Tabs.’

Manage business profile page templates and tabs

On this page, you have the option to toggle the ‘Reviews’ tap on or off. When this option is turned off, visitors to your page will not be able to leave a review.

Manage business profile page tabs closed

Why Might You Choose to Turn Off Your Facebook Reviews?

While opting to avoid allowing reviews on your business page is not right for everyone, there are a few situations in which it makes more sense to disable reviews than to deal with the potential for negative publicity.

You may decide to turn off your Facebook review if:

  • You are not very active on Facebook and do not want to monitor and respond to reviews posted on that platform;
  • You have so many negative reviews that it would be too much work to have them removed; or
  • You have been bombarded with negative fake reviews (or one or two that are particularly harmful and problematic).

Why Do Reviews Sometimes Disappear From Facebook?

Occasionally, a review will disappear seemingly on its own accord. This disappearance may happen because the person who wrote the review removed it themselves, or the author of the review deleted their account.

In other cases, Facebook’s algorithm may have removed the review for a violation of the platform’s community standards.

Is That Facebook Review Fake? Here’s How to Tell

Adam Dorfman

facebook reviews hidden

As long as reviews continue to be a vital part of your company’s online reputation, fake reviews will continue to be an issue. Competitors might post a negative review on one of your Facebook pages . There are the cases of mistaken identity and disgruntled former employees that can turn your stellar rating into a dismal one overnight.

But, what is considered a fake review on Facebook? In other words, what does the social media giant have to say about this issue? Beyond this, how can you spot these false online reviews on your company’s Facebook page?

Couple sitting outside looking at a phone together while eating.

Consumers use social media to research local businesses, so your reviews should be authentic.

What is a Fake Facebook Review?

While Facebook encourages its users to leave reviews of local businesses, it is also making it far too easy to leave fake reviews. According to a recent investigation by consumer association Which? , there are thousands of posts on Facebook alone that offer money for fake online reviews.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) takes a dim view of fake reviews and launched its first case against a retail website in early 2019. But, you can’t count on the government fighting your battles, so information is power.

A fake review is one written by someone that has not actually used the product or service. It might be paid or could just be posted by an employee, ex-employee, family member, or someone else that either wants to promote a company or see it suffer.

Facebook doesn’t have crystal clear guidelines on this, but its Community Standards do require that people use authentic identities and refrain from posting fraudulent or untrue statements. Managing your social media profiles is challenging enough; now you need to know how to spot fake reviews on Facebook.

Use these tips to stop fake reviews on your business’s Facebook page.

How to Spot Fake Reviews on Facebook

Facebook reports that one-third of people using the platform search for local business “recommendations.” If your profile is loaded with bad reviews that happen to be fake, this is not going to provide visitors with an accurate representation of your business.

Here are some of the ways you can tell those Facebook reviews are fake:

1. The review is overly positive or overly negative.

A balanced review isn’t going to be gushing or scathing. There are likely going to be some positive and negative things to point out about a business and its products or services.

If a review leans too far in either direction, it might be suspect. While there are certainly exceptions to this rule, these are posts that could use some extra scrutiny.

2. The review lacks detail.

When people make money writing fake reviews, they don’t take the time to collect the details about a business. It’s tough to describe something you haven’t experienced, so if everything was “perfect” or “awful,” but there are no descriptions of the particular features of the product or experience, this could be a fake review.

3. The review is very short and lacks substance.

People tend to write longer reviews when they’ve used the product or service. There might be some storytelling elements involved that describe how the company succeeded or failed to solve a pain point. When a review is fake, you’ll find much less substance.

4. The reviewer has no friends.

If you suspect that a review might be fake, click on the reviewer’s profile. If they have no “friends” and just joined Facebook, this is a massive red flag.

Another sure sign of a fake review is when the reviewer is related or otherwise connected to a competitor or ex-employee. Likewise, anyone that posts multiple reviews per day could be a paid reviewer.

Spotting those fake reviews is only the beginning. Once you know what you’re dealing with, you can begin to take some action and try to get those reviews removed from your profile . This is just one of the things that you should be doing to manage your online reputation.

Some Facebook Pages are missing Reviews

UPDATE, AUGUST 24, 2018: Facebook is in the process of changing from “reviews” to “recommendations,” so numbers and other reporting may be off. For more information about this change, I highly recommend Aaron Weiche’s explainer article on GetFiveStars.com .

———-

I keep hoping Facebook would just fix this problem and let me off the hook for having to blog about it, but after two weeks or so, it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen.

It was a couple weeks ago when I noticed that all of the reviews had gone missing from my wife’s Facebook Page . As I recall, she had about 10 glowing reviews on her Page with an overall 4.9 star rating. When I’d try to visit the dedicated sub-page for Reviews, Facebook would show this “content isn’t available” message:

facebook reviews hidden

Not only had the reviews gone missing, but the Reviews tab disappeared from her Page’s navigation and there was no option in Settings to return that tab.

facebook reviews hidden

There’s never a good time for this kind of thing to happen, but in our case the reviews disappeared right as we were ready to start a steady campaign to increase her review profile across the web. She’s using a new customer management platform and we’d created a handful of stock emails that would be sent out to past clients to invite them to leave reviews on several different sites — Facebook included. And given Facebook’s ubiquity, that seems to be the platform where we’d find the least resistance to posting a review. Everyone is on Facebook, after all!

Facebook seems to know about the problem. There are numerous threads about the missing reviews in the Page help forums; here’s one where the original post is two years old, but there’s been a flurry of “it’s happening again” posts in the past couple weeks. There’s a similar thread in the Facebook developers’ forum where at least one Facebook employee has posted — with a bit of frustration, it seems — that the board is for developer issues, not Page owners’ issues.

What’s odd is that the problem isn’t consistent across desktop and mobile. On desktop, I see nothing — no reviews, no Reviews tab, etc., as described above. But on mobile, her Page shows the Reviews tab and has the shell of the reviews … but each post is completely empty, as you see here:

facebook reviews hidden

At this point, I’m beyond frustrated. Word-of-mouth marketing is bread and butter for real estate agents and Facebook is an incredibly important visibility platform. I’ve used the “Report a Problem” option that shows up when you click the little question mark in the upper right of Facebook’s nav menu. Hopefully many other Page owners are doing the same. And hopefully Facebook will listen and fix this sooner rather than later.

Page owners: Are your reviews also missing? Is it the same on desktop and mobile? Very curious to know what others are seeing. Please comment below.

As of today (Monday, October 30), I’m seeing the reviews again on my wife’s Facebook Page . The tab is there, content is there, etc. Hallelujah!

As a Personal Trainer based in The Netherlands, I checked Facebook yesterday and found out we’ve dropped from 83 reviews to only 74 reviews. Both desktop and mobile device gave the same statistics. Whereas I first thought that some people might have deleted their review (although, considering the huge drop that would be very unlikely), I just noticed today that we’ve now only got 59 reviews. Almost 30 reviews have gone missing! Can anyone please help me out?? :’( I haven’t changed anything about the settings – they seem to have disappeared just like that…

' src=

We have had the same problem dropped from 60 reviews down to 45 on Facebook

' src=

Kim, You just commented yesterday…I had 75 yesterday I checked my review and then now down to 60. Review is a review…

' src=

all of mine have completely disappeared – I had about 14 and then started sending people to The Knot (I’m a wedding videographer so this helps more so) but I am bummed to see past clients who only left facebook reviews gone

' src=

Same here. Mine just disappeared recently though ugh anyone else have ideas?

Same here…I listed all the names and dates when they posted review in my page and some of them are gone….you can’t even contact facebook…no solution…

' src=

Same here – 124 down to 48 a couple of days ago, and no settings changed on our part. I wonder what’s going on?

' src=

seeing your post on the reviews i had 235 then every couple days its gone down – yesterday 160! today the whole page of all my written reviews all 235! is missing- just6 blank what is happening? anyone ever got it fixed?

' src=

I’ve been noticing the same issue over the past few months. Gone from above 40 to 12 now. Reported lots of times. But no reply or solution. Very frustrating.

' src=

It hows no reviews but when you click there are two and then empty boxes…we use to have over 54 and all gone…it even shows -1 review….how can we have minus one review now…have written support over 20 times with no respond..im totally upset …iv been advertising too on facebook and should ask them to pay me back the spent money…

' src=

I have this exact problem today except I counted my reviews it said I have 15 review with my star rating having dropped down from a 4.7 from the weekend to a 4.5 today and when I counted my reviews I still have 22 reviews up

' src=

Hi Jackie , mine dropped from 4.9 to 4.7 in 2 weeks . It’s just not reliable and I’m considering deleting that section and just screenshot the ones I have left . It’s really bad . I’ve also for reviews from people that have never met me so they’re not even realistic either . It’s my livelihood that’s being messed with here . Absolute joke

' src=

Hello! Our business facebook pages have the same problem now. Could you tell me, please, if your rating error was solved by Facebook admin? After what period? Thanks for your help!

' src=

Me too! It’s been years and my recommendations are showing but it says 0 out of 5 recommendations despite having multiple recommendations. let me know of yours was sorted please

' src=

I’m writing in May 2019 and it’s still happening. A business associate asked me to leave his company a review, and I’m not seeing his Reviews page on either Chrome, Bing or Firefox. He’s seeing it on his end, but I’m not. So whatever is happening, it ain’t over.

' src=

Same for me! No one can leave a Review because they can’t see my Review tab. I’m getting really annoyed as I don’t know how to fix it.

' src=

Same! Have you figured out how to fix it??

' src=

the page has two options. 1. most relevent 2. most recent. Select most recent.

' src=

Same thing is happening to mine. I run a cleaning service and it’s vital to my business that potential clients are able to read the reviews from my regular clients. This is so frustrating for me and obviously others as well. Fingers crossed that this will be fixed!

' src=

My customers are leaving my page reviews and nobody can see the recommendations in my review section, they reviews are not going through at all. Disaster!

' src=

It’s just happened to mine as well now and I agree it’s very frustrating as I’m a cake maker and my reviews are everything to me and my customers. I had a fair few 5/5 reviews and a star rating of 5+. Now no one can see how pleased people are with my work annoyed isn’t the word x

i work as a groomer and cat product sales– i work hard to ge reviews and had 235 written long reviews – all 5 star recommendations- my numbers started to drop- but not the written reviews – but today the whole review page – all the 235 written reviews -are gone!!!. im depressed and angry- i work so hard to give perfect service. face book sucks!!

' src=

This is awful! This just started happening to me too, so frustrating!! Had so many reviews and a 5 star rating…the rating is gone, but the reviews show up on the desktop only (not mobile). Being a realtor this is a huge issue as I work on reviews/referrals! Especially since I’m starting a big campaign for more followers.

' src=

I’ve just started my business so it’s a new page . When I asked a client to write a review she followed the review button and it just posted as a ‘visitor post ‘ that nobody can see not on my reviews , she tried it several times using the review button but still nothing .. then another friend just simply cannot see my review button ! So frustrating

' src=

I have this exact same problem and have been unable to get help. Half of my reviews end up as visitor posts. I’ve tried to put on a review on a friend’s phone to test it and it just went to visitor post. Please let me know if you get a solution. 🙂

' src=

Same, two of my friends have left reviews for me on my page – says its posted on their end but I cannot see it anywhere on my page..

' src=

I am having the same issue. Not sure how to fix it?

' src=

This is also happening to me right now. I can see it on my end. But a customer from Japan is not seeing the review tab…

' src=

Me too! I’ve lost 5 reviews. It’s beyond frustrating. No more advertising from FB.

' src=

This happened to me, I was furious. I reported several times to Facebook-no action taken from them. I am seriously thinking now that they are removing the grey authenticated badges from the end of this month that these are all steps to get rid of small business from their platform. i very much suspect it will become a paid platform only for small businesses in the very near future. That would be fine if they weren’t so very restricted in what we can and can’t share!

' src=

same here 113 to 0 …

To add with that comment, I haven’t change any in my setting.

' src=

I had 120 reviews. Yesterday it shows only 70!!! What can we do to get Facebook to resolve this issue

' src=

Sam here I went from 100 hard earned 5 * reviews to just 65 overnight!! I have messaged Facebook about 3 days ago and heard nothing. As a small business these reviews are so important

' src=

Not only have I lost 15 -20 reviews but my review breakdown is showing reviews I’ve NEVER received 2’s, 3’s and an addition 4. My rating went down from 4.9-4.5. I’m a childcare and it’s effecting my potential business. I can’t see any way to contact FB either.

' src=

Ryt I have the same problem Is this intentionally done

' src=

For a couple days this week, my wife’s Page had an indicator that said “6 reviews” — but all of her reviews were actually on the Page still, they just weren’t being included in the count that FB shows to visitors. Are you guys sure the actual reviews are gone? Or is it just the number they show that’s wrong?

(BTW, my wife’s Page is now back to normal with the count showing the correct number.)

' src=

Same problem here now

' src=

How did can we fix this? Same problem here

' src=

Our page has gone from 236 down to 216! So frustrating you can’t get any help from Facebook!

' src=

Same ~ missing numerous relevant reviews , on all devices . The review count us the same yet the actual reviews are missing ! WTH Facebook – and no response from you ever , with many an attempt

' src=

Same problem and extremely annoyed at it! Trying to start new business an only got 5 reviews…suddenly 2 gone! Everytime someone posts now its gone next day, Who do we talk to about this as i reported it to facebook with no reply.

' src=

I had over 300 reviews and a five star rating, I make sure every job at my carpet cleaning business is spot on , I only get five star reviews but it now as declined to no reviews and no rating, so my customers are going elsewhere, fb said there is a bug in the system, it’s going to make my business fold ,

' src=

Like you, for my client’s Facebook page, Reviews are not showing up on the tab options. She is also a real estate agent and of course reviews are crucial. Amazing.

' src=

All my reviews have disappeared. Really annoying.

' src=

Has this been resolved! The same has happened for me????

' src=

We lost 165 5* reviews last year and clawed back up to 235. They disappeared to leave 44. No idea what is happening but extremely frustrating. No response from Facebook.

' src=

Missing reviews too and my rating dropped overnight from 5 to 4.8.

' src=

I’ve just started a business page and my reviews don’t show up. Is this a problem that has reared up again?? so frustrating. I’ve spend soooo much time trying to rectify this. I’m really disappointed. Is there any new/up to date news on this subject?

' src=

I am the same on my buisness page all my reviews have dissapeared. I have worked years building these up and they are a huge help to future clients deciding to book me. I had over 150 5* reviews all gone, has anyone found a solution?

' src=

I too have had all of mine disappear? So disappointed! How can this be fixed??

Facebook is in the process of changing from “reviews” to “recommendations,” and that seems to be impacting numbers. See this article for more info: https://www.getfivestars.com/blog/a-big-change-to-facebook-reviews-5-stars-now-recommendations/

Recommendations will never work due to irrelevant audience just pressing don’t recommend just to be nasty and vindictive . I have a nail business which has been affected by woman doing this . My review fell from 4.9 to 4 7 . It’s just not working and I feel vulnerable to the masses

' src=

I had all 24 of my reviews become inaccessible in the past month. No idea where they went. They were all detailed testimonials and I’m extremely disappointed to have lost them. I’ll be following this thread to see if anyone finds a solution.

' src=

I also have 21 reviews dropping from 50. So annoying x

' src=

Following this thread/same issue.

' src=

Same here … 178reviews dropped to 108 over night… Very annoying especially when u work so hard… I hope FB solve the problem soon.

' src=

We spent a huge amount of effort and time to get to 110+ 5-star ratings and we lost 50% overnight 🙁 THIS IS TERRIBLE FACEBOOK

' src=

I was so sad as one of my reviews was from a client who was so kind. Then I noticed if you go to the admin section and look under reviews, it says hidden and there is no way to unhide it. And yet I got another recommendation today and its shows up on the page even though it says it is also hidden. After reading other peoples dilemas, I suggest we get our reviews through google. Its unfortunate that we need reviews and I hate asking for them, so I certainly dont want to lose the few I do have.

' src=

Suddenly people are unable to leave a review on my web page. Anyone have any suggestions?

' src=

Same thing happened to me. I lost 25 5* reviews that it took me a year to get. No response from Facebook. Disappointing.

' src=

hi same problem, clients leaving reviews but my rating numbers are not increasing. Have given up chasing up facebook.

I’m so disappointed in this new system . My business ratings have fell from 4.9 to 4.7 within 2 weeks . Recommendations are left to the masses who have never met me or will ever have a nail session with me so my business online is looking like it’s sinking when infaxr it’s been better than ever. Get this fixed Facebook or im deleting my page. I’ve worked hard over 10 years and won’t have these mistakes ruining my career ☹️

' src=

I just launched my page and got some lovely reviews, saw them in the Notifications tab, clicked to post them to my page and then they disappeared. So I’ll not be soliciting reviews for my FB page going forward, only testimonials for my website. Too bad.

' src=

Thank you so much for blogging about this. I was feeling very confused and frustrated. I’ll be sure to send in Feedback to Facebook regarding this issue — the more voices the better.

' src=

We sadly have the same issue. Some of our reviews has disappeared completely and new ones are not showing. I have reported this the FB via support for over two months and nothing.

' src=

The way I fixed it….

Navigate to your About page. The edit page info

I read some categories don’t allow reviews. Delete some categories and play around with that section. I added some new categories then suddenly I could reselect the review tab

Viola. All the reviews back. Hope that helps some folks.

' src=

Hi Kieran, I have same problem. Half of all our reviews missing. Could you please let me know which categories you selected to reselect the review? Thank you?

' src=

I can’t find any documentation on Reviews working for some categories and NOT for others. Do you have more details?

' src=

I cannot even see/access my Reviews – I have the Review “button” and it is on – when clicked on it does nothing … goes nowhere I can access most of them on my mobile I would like to be able to thank people for their kind reviews I do not have the option of “Recommendations”

' src=

Exactly the same problem, missing reviews. Very poor of FB to implement this without any apparent testing.

' src=

Same here! I had 35 reviews now I have 4!!! Where did they go???? I am a cosmetologist and I worked hard for those reviews !! They were all 5 stars! With paragraphs not just hey she did a great job, ugh oh my gosh! This is so wrong! I am a small business owner….

' src=

Same thing here. I have been getting a ton of reviews lately, the last couple of months or so but NONE of those new reviews are actually displaying on my page. This is VERY frustrating…..

' src=

same problem here on my mobile mechanic page .. my customer showed me her review and it was a great one but it does not show up on either platform and now i am wondering if other customers have written reviews that i can not or have not seen

' src=

My Reviews tab disappeared completely and I had a 5.0 rating. Cant even find the recommendations or anything. When I look to add the tab it’s not even found as an option.

' src=

I have 15 reviews (my page is showing this number) but can only read 13.

' src=

I discovered, I have the same problem. I do not have the usual option within settings to restore my recommendations at all. I had over 160 ratings/reviews and about 20 or more recommendations. All of them are gone. I had them turned off for a while, and went to turn them back on and discovered the option to turn the tab back on is no longer there. Furthermore, if you go to “templates” where you can see the examples of what the different page types’ tabs and options will look like – it no longer shows anything about recommendations/ratings/reviews there either.

This exact thing happened about 2 years ago and was very widespread. At that time though, facebook was switching the rating/review set up to the current “recommendation” set up. So I can only guess that is why that particular occurence happened. Who knows what the heck they are doing to it now. I do know that facebook’s stock is steadily declining – they better step up their game or they will be gone like Myspace!

' src=

All of my reviews have disappeared. Really beautiful reviews with 5 star rating. Review button also gone & unable to locate. Does anyone know what issue is or how to rectify….or are they lost?

' src=

My reviews/recommendations have disappeared as of last Friday and the option to add the Recommendations tab back is not available. I have reported the problem several times, but do not have an answer as of yet. Very frustrated!!!!

' src=

Same here. We have 2 Admins for our facebook page. I cant see reviews nor i am able to see the review tab in the settings (Templates & Tabs). However, when logged into facebook page with other admin the Reviews tab is visible. I tried all options in the settings but not successful. Finally, i did “Report a Problem: in facebook.

' src=

Same problem. Any fix yet? I have reported a few times but nothing has come back from Facebook to help.

' src=

I have noticed that reviews are visible if you use Facebook in incognito mode and are not signed in, but as soon as you’re signed in the ‘Reviews’ option is gone from the page’s menu. To use incognito mode in Chrome just press CTRL+SHIFT+N.

' src=

I know I’m late to the party here but this has been an issue for me for around 2 weeks now… did you just have to sit and wait until they suddenly reappeared one day? I have reported the issue but FB are not getting back to me… I just need some reassurance that all is not gone 🙁

Thanks a for the detailed post, Luke

' src=

I’ve just noticed in the last few days that mine are gone too. I read something about having to have your address on there (as a wedding photographer without a studio, I don’t have one that isn’t my home address), but I’ve added that and it’s made no difference. The recommendations tab isn’t available to add. I’ve contacted Facebook, but no response. So frustrating.

' src=

I, too, am unable to see reviews or even the reviews tab on pages. My husband and I can look at the same page and his has a reviews tab and mine does not. Is there a setting I’m missing??

' src=

Hi, I have the same problem. I reported to Facebook 6 months ago as all 49 of my reviews have just disappeared from my business page. No response from Facebook atall and still no joy with any reviews showing on my page.

' src=

I have the same issues, during last few days some visitors report that they cant write recommendation for my page as they don’t see the Recommendation bar. Still, there are users who has left the reviews. I have reported an issue. What else i can do?

' src=

There is a setting on your Business Page, where you have to add the tab for your reviews to reappear if your reviews have completely vanished. You can also look this up on the help site.

' src=

Hey everyone, yesterday I turned the reviews off on my Facebook business page. Then today I turned them back on to receive a review.

However people still don’t see the review tab. Does it take time to turn back on?

' src=

I have the same issue. About 8 months ago the reviews disappeared completely from my business page, on all devices. I am also unable to write reviews/ recommendations for certain other businesses because the tab is not available, yet other people I know can and I can see it on their phone. For some business pages, notably only the big brands 😉 their reviews tab is working and availability or to me in the very same devices. It’s so frustrating. Two years is plenty of time to resolve an issue.

' src=

Hey there, I have also suffered from this situation for my business page. I’m too much worried because of my reviews had deleted from my page. I don’t understand what happened to me. I think it is the only problem for me but after reading this post I have more clarity about these issues. Thanks for sharing the problem you face…

' src=

Why does my fb page still says “no rating yet” even though i already have 27 recommendations from my clients. Please help

' src=

Hi have you figured this out yet? I have the same problem and a handful of reviews are missing

' src=

Hello I have the same issue, use to have over 35 reviews and rating at 5.0. Now all my revews/recommadations disappered from my facebook business pae and rating is 0. Have you figured this out? Its driving me mad. Mark

' src=

Someone please help the same thing keeps happening to me we work so hard for these reviews how can I contact Facebook

' src=

I have multiple clients with this issue and I’m getting nowhere with Facebook.

' src=

I also lost some reviews, but my problem now is that people cannot summit new reviews, even though the tab is on and the old ones can be read. The last one that I could receive was at the beginning of April, and there’s no way I can get a f… reply from Facebook.

' src=

I have an even worse problem, no one can actually leave a review on my page, it’s not working???? I’ve tried everything. So frustrating

' src=

I’m also experiencing loss of reviews from my business page. As it’s a small business reviews are very important. I was hoping they can be reinstated. Thanks all for sharing as I thought i was the only one

' src=

It is widespread. As far as I can tell everyone can see reviews until they log in. Then it affects selected users. (no idea if there is a trigger or setting that causes it, appears random and between 25 and 30 percent of people) https://www.facebook.com/help/community/question/?id=10155900914429163 More people who have noticed the problem at that link. No solution and no responses from FaceBook.

' src=

I found my missing reviews that were not showing on my phone / tablet by: – Deleting any unnecessary tabs that were redundant. – Logging out of Facebook completely and remove the cache & history on my laptop. – Then by using Google Chrome (laptop) in Incognito mode, I googled my Facebook business page – When I reached my page, I could see all my reviews there but a pop-up comes up asking you to login to view them and doesn’t let you read them properly. When I logged in, some of them disappeared, so it would seem that they are there somewhere in the system, but definitely a big pain!

' src=

Yes I can see my reviews, but no one can add a review. The option has been taken away. Get your shite together Facebook. I’m paying good advertising money to you for a below par service!!!

' src=

I have 24 recommendations on my Facebook business page. My ratings were 5 but they have completely disappeared. It just says ‘No ratings yet’ despite having had a rating of 5 prior to this plus I’ve had more reviews too but still no ratings. Where have the ratings gone?

Same problem here. Have you find any fix for this?

' src=

I have a very similar problem. I’m directing clients to my Facebook business page to leave a review. They’re able to find the page, but there is no link to leave a review

' src=

Same here, new biz, new fb page, no way to add any review button, even after trying with making it a local business and giving it a physical address.

This actually looks like it worked

https://www.facebook.com/help/548274415377576?helpref=faq_content

' src=

I still don’t see “recommendations” under the “Add a tab” – why? :/

' src=

Hi, sorry I know this is an old post but I’m also experiencing a problem. Although not exactly the same – maybe you can help. I have a total of 108 reviews/recommendations on my page. When you navigate to reviews it sasy: 5/5 based on the opinion of 108 people. The problem is that next to that it says “21 people recommends Wiskunde Schmiskunde”. Why is that number not updating. This is concerning becase it’s th only value you see when your using a mobile device. Any advise?

' src=

I’ve had several people tell me they’ve left me reviews on Facebook and I didn’t get any notifications and I not anyone else can see them but the people that did them can and have screen shot them to me. I’ve deleted my history and cookies etc, reset my phone, logged out of Facebook and have reported through nurmerous avenues on Facebook but am not getting any response – can anyone help?

' src=

I am experiencing the same issue, this is very frustrating. I am looking for another platform to have my recommendations posted.

My business page shows No Rating Yet / No Recommendations Yet – but I have HUNDREDS of recommendations on my page. I reported this problem several times to FB without any solution.

' src=

same problem so frustrated as a small business account on my reviews to support me I cannot believe Facebook is not responding to anybody has anybody had any luck at all. I tried to create another website just for the hell of it and sure enough the review tab is there all the things that people tell me to do add tab all that there is no tab for recommendation or reviews

' src=

It’s Dec 2019 and my business is about a month old technically we should be around 32 reviews yet every time someone adds a new review it stays at 27. No more it’s like we can’t move passed that number. I’ve also tried asking for help nothing yet. I haven’t changedany settings either. Any tips?

' src=

i can’t believe something so basic has not been fixed. I’m having the same problem!

' src=

Same problems for me worked hard all year to build up 12 5* reviews and the last one I got at the same time it’s like they all disappeared from my page, gutted

' src=

The same thing is happening to me—my review are gone and there is not even a recommendation tab for me to choose from. Frustrating.

' src=

Same here… Lost more than 60 reviews and no solution and no answer from Facebook.. Maybe it´s time just to forget about Facebook…

' src=

I have like 5 reviews missing off my business facebook page. Disgusting, I worked my ass off for these!!! Just take them down Facebook, This is why I spend ZERO $$$ money with you incompetent clowns!!!!

' src=

Same here, Facebook wants us to use their platform for are businesses but doesn’t have their act together to support our work. This is not a good time to have this happen for my business. As if there is a good time! I will not spend one Penney in promotions or ads until they get their act together.

' src=

Just noticed 3 out ifny4 years of reviews are gone !!! What the hell. Like others my business has been 99% word of mouth along with my Facebook page. I tell customers they can visit my page to see hundreds of great 5 outta 5 reviews but now it seems like Ive been a liar !!!

Not cool Facebook specially now with the virus and small businesses need all the help they can get. Also why does nobody get replies from them. Are they that arrogant and totally uncaring about the people that use their product !!🤬

' src=

my fiance had the same thing happened to him his business page overnight lost reviews and then even in real time today more reviews were taken down and his rating went from a 5.0 to a 4.9. How does this even happen when the ratings were taken away in 2018 and recommendations were only allowed? he has 100 recommendations but where the rating score is it went from over 100 to 45 this morning and ten 41 this afternoon. was anyone able to get a hold of anyone? how can this just happen? this is his livelihood and he has worked his ass off for many years to become established to be watching this just happen

' src=

Our customers want to leave reviews up until today they could but now not able to…. very frustrating

' src=

I’m having a similar situation 🙁 My page has 26 reviews was at 4.8 yesterday now at 3.7 today saying ‘based on the opinion of 3 people’ No new reviews to make it drop either so doesn’t make any sense Any advice appreciated! I am a small business too so reviews are very important also paying for ads is a joke when this happens

' src=

Did you ever find an answer? Our rating went from 4.5 down to 2.3! Saying based on the opinion of THREE people. We have tons of reviews and recommendations!

' src=

This is frustrating. You work your butt off for these reviews over performing for customers for Facebook not to have an answer. Mine drops consistently, I should have well over 200+ awesome reviews of my courses and number keeps dropping. Absurd, you pay facebook for people to visit or engage with your business and FB simply eliminates the evidence of such interaction. THEY ARE INCOMPETENT CLOWNS for not providing a simply stupid answer to its customers. Why would you even have that shitty section in your business pages.

' src=

If anyone is still having this issue, I switched from Chrome to Internet Edge and the reviews option shows up as a “Turn On” feature on General settings. Users may try clearing their cache too to see if that brings back old reviews.

' src=

Same issue with my business page, no reviews of my clients are showing, clients are emailing me to confirm they reviewed my page but it’s not showing?

' src=

I had 149 reviews and mine went down to 97! So annoyed how do we get it back

' src=

I had about 15 reviews and 5* rating. This morning the review tab has totally disappeared . How can a small business keep going without word of mouth. The first thing I do when shopping is check the reviews. Come on Facebook stop messing with this and leave well alone otherwise people will go elsewhere!

' src=

JULY 29 / 2020 Hi. Same problem here. Every 2 or 3 days I miss 1 review on my page. I had 19 reviews, now only 13.

I think that it’s a Facebook decision in order to force us to pay for ads from their network. I’m also gathering customers reviews from Trustpilot since some time ago, may be Facebook ‘is not happy’ with that ? 🙂

' src=

Same here… I had some good ones that I was proud of – GONE

' src=

try going from 1450 5 star reviews im now down to 690 .. fucking joke

' src=

I’ve noticed the same problem with mine. I’ve gone from 224 down to 170 with no explanation.

' src=

I am not able to see review given from my customers.

' src=

I had nearly 700 reviews 3 months ago. Puts had dropped nearly 200 reviews. Contacted and reported to fb many of times with no response and they are still dropping. Anyone know what i can do?

' src=

I’ve just started a business and trying to build up a reputation. I have just had two glowing reviews On my Facebook page but not showing up in page reviews, and still no star rating showing. So frustrating!! this problem needs to be sorted.

Ok…this issue continues…3/4 yrs ago I had 300+ reviews/recommendations…each year they decreased…now down to 99 (www.facebook.com/zumbaconadam). I reported it without solution. I even chated with support…I’ve stopped buying Facebook ads… by the way, no problems with Google Local business reviews in years.

Please report your issues here with screen shots or technical details so their engineers can check it…

' src=

It’s 2020 and this problem might be worse. I’ve got six 5 star reviews and people can only see 2. Contacting the bots is useless. I think we can all agree that Facebook is bullshit, which is why people are dumping it for TikTok and Google. Even Instagram is starting to lose its luster.

' src=

All my reviews disappeared. I can’t even make a new tab. What happened?

' src=

This is happening to me right now. In Jan , 2021. Greyed out review page and cant add tab.

' src=

My 5 star business rating has gone this week when it’s been there since my very first review in October 2020. It now says my business has no rating and 0 reviews or recommendations – even though I’ve got 10 recommendations showing! I don’t understand how with even more recommendations than I had before I’ve suddenly not got no rating at all as it now says there are insufficient recommendations and 0 recommendations or reviews have been made. Does anyone know how to resolve this as there is no actual way of contacting facebook or ever getting a reply when you try to report an issue.

' src=

same! Any idea how to fix this?

' src=

Me too. This just started happening when I got one “do not recommend” and then was getting more “recommends” and I went from 18 to 11 to 6 and my rating went from 5 to 4.5 to 4.7 to 4.3. This makes absolutely no sense and looks like this has been going on for 3 years!!!

' src=

60 reviews down to 22! Who took our reviews away FACEBOOK????

' src=

Hi In my case, I had 5/5 rating on my Facebook page and lots of review comments. My review comments are still there (thank god) but rating came down to 0/5 with the message “no recommendation yet”. I can still see lots of review comments which means “no recommendation yet” message on page doesn’t make sense. Strangely, on the page load, I can only see 3 review comments unless i change the sorting order from most helpful to most recent. Upon changing sort order, I can see all the review comments and when i change the sorting back to most recent, I can still see the full list of review comments then why not on the page load? How many people will change the sorting order to see the complete list of review comments. By the way, even if i can see the review comments by changing the sort order, my rating is still 0/5. I have contacted Facebook twice , shared feedback but no avail. there is no obvious explanation to this issue either anywhere. I am stuck now on 0/5 rating. Look like some technical issue with this module but its frustrating when you don’t know whom to contact to fix it. Please let me know if anyone has faced similar issue

' src=

I have the same problem. It seems that everytime someone writes a review the number drops off. I had 11, it droped to 9, then 7 and then zero, saying no reviews at all! but when you press on the zero you enter all the reviews! I tried to reach facebook support. they all seem so happy and kind, and say there is a progress and soon it will be fixed, nut nothing happens and no one’s reaching out.

' src=

Hi. Maybe, more of us, should add comments in here: The official Facebook topic for this bug. https://developers.facebook.com/support/bugs/405280793967019/

' src=

Same thing happening to me in march 2021. It shows on my page ‘no ratings yet’ but I have 18 recommendations! You can read all of them but the numbers show 0 out of 5 based on 0 reviews. This is so frustrating. Has anyone got any help from Facebook?

' src=

I have a related issue with the reviews of Facebook Pages. This is my page – https://www.facebook.com/riistorewood/reviews/?ref=page_internal . I didn’t lose the recommendations of my followers, however, the rating star is now zero. I didn’t receive any bad recommendations, so honestly, I don’t know how this was possible. It seems that the reviews and the recommendations lost the link between them. Users can recommend my page, but the rating would remain zero.

Can you please guide me? As an owner of a small business page, reviews are crucial for me.

' src=

Everytime i get a review my rating goes down as if its a bad review and also the amount of reviews goes down its basically going backwards!!! Facebook emailed me today to say its fixed and its not!!! Im fuming!!!

' src=

50 reviews down to 26. The star ⭐️ before 4.3 down to 3.6. Please anyone know how to fix the problem

' src=

Happenong to us also… from 4.7 rating to no rating yrt… more than 20 recommendatiin missing… can anybody help..

' src=

Same thing happening and desparately seeking a fix. Can anyone advise how to reinstate them. I can see some reviews but many are missing and the score says O no reviews. Please please help

' src=

I Just made a facebook page this year and I have more than a few recommendations, however no star rating yet, and it says i have 0 reviews unfortunately. Annoyed at this issue.

' src=

This is crazy! our reviews show up under reviews tab but they arent calculated and shows we have3 zero recommendations. I also lost a good bit of our reviews out of no where. We went from a 5 star rating to 0. Even though we have never had a bad review.

' src=

There are recommendations on my fb business page but when clicked ‘Review’ tab it says no recommendations and rating is ZERO ! Its so frustrating. Could someone please help me to regain this ?

Many Thanks

' src=

50 reviews down to 2. 5 stars down to 4 now 3.

' src=

HI everyone, It seems 100s of us have the same problem. It also seems that Facebook are not prioritising this problem and don’t appreciate how as small business owners we rely heavily on Review and Recommendation to help us run profitable businesses.

I am going to go to the national press to try and see if we can get this given more exposure in the hope that Facebook will prioritise a fix.

To do this, we need to pull together and give the press an extensive list of businesses experiencing this problem. Please let me have your Facebook page URL below with a max 30-40 word summary of how this is impacting your business. Together, hopefully, we can put pressure on Facebook to fix this.

https://www.facebook.com/TaysideGardenServices/reviews I started my business just last year. I have 45 glowing reviews but Facebook still rates my business as 0 out of 5. This reflects badly on me as a small business and devalues the importance of customer recommendations.

' src=

Over 100 reviews and ratings ALL of which are 5-stars. I am a caterer and this effect our families income.

We have a baby that is 9 months old and I can’t sleep now because everything is at 0 stars and no recommendations.

http://www.facebook.com/Fuji.757

' src=

Hi, did you ever get anywhere with this? I checked out your FB page and you have 37 now, did you get any of the 45 back ?

' src=

All of my reviews are gone. I had a rating of 4.8 with 46 reviews. I have tried turning it back on. Nothing.

' src=

https://www.facebook.com/SeanBurrowsTreeCare/

5 star reviews that no one can see. It’s shocking come on FB sort it out

' src=

Same here. https://www.facebook.com/PlumbingBaron I am on the hunt for an answer and will come back here if I find something. I think the “Report a Problem” feature on FB is a black hole, from which you will get no solution and only on forums like this will we find an answer.

' src=

I’m having terrible problems with the reviews/recommendations option which isn’t appearing at all on settings. Customers are leaving reviews for my dog training and behaviour page but they are not showing up. Of the few that are appearing two of them just appear as blank squares!!! This is beyond frustrating. A very kind lady posted a review yesterday and it still isn’t appearing anywhere. I am having to direct customers elsewhere to post reviews as facebook simply doesn’t work – not on my work facebook page. Seems impossible to get in touch in anyone too… Fingers crossed someone from facebook will come back to sort this problem.

' src=

I’m having the same issue. Not only reviews are not counted into a rating, I can’t even add a “Reviews” tab on my page!! I tried from my page settings as well as from Business Manager, I toggle Reviews on, but this tab never appears for public=((( I opened support case with FB, it’s been about 2 weeks. I never heard an update, logged into support inbox today and it says “solved” when it’s not!! AAAAAA, I’m so pissed off!!!

' src=

I spoke with someone in the chat feature and they basically told me its gone and they don’t know if its coming back.

' src=

Hey so sorry to hear that, it has been happening to me as well for several weeks. I have a total of 28x 5-star reviews that I’ve built over the years for my coaching business and while all the reviews are there, my Recommendations shows 0 stars and “Based on 0 reviews” which is extremely frustrating after spending such a long time and getting so many reviews..

I have sent them several times through the “Report a problem” feature but I haven’t heard back a single time.

' src=

My review tab on FB doesn’t work. You turn it on and nothing happens. You try to move the tab to make it more visible, you get an error. FB is a joke. Zero service or accountability whatsoever. I can’t wait for the day this piece of crap “social” advertising channel is shut down for good. FB is a parasite on society.

' src=

I’ve been searching for an answer to this problem and just came across this thread. Initially I felt relieved and reassured that I’m not the only one struggling with this, but having read through so many comments I’m now feeling angry that Facebook are not fixing a problem that is potentially so damaging to so many small businesses. It’s baffling.

I’m having the same problems as so many have listed here, but one other I’m not sure anyone else has mentioned? My ‘Reviews’ tab has disappeared and I can’t get it back. I go to ‘Edit tabs’, I turn on ‘Reviews’, I get a message telling me my page ‘now includes a Reviews tab’, but when I return to my home page and it’s not there. I go back to ‘Edit tabs’ and it’s reverted to being unselected. Also, ‘Reviews’ is always at the bottom of the list, and if I try to move it nearer to the top, I’m not allowed. I get a message saying ‘query error – error performing query’. Whatever I do ‘Reviews’ stays at the bottom of the list, turned off.

Without this tab on my home page, the only way I can see my reviews at all is to type ‘/reviews’ at the end of my page address in my browser. This does take me to my reviews page, but, as at least one other poster has shared above, all but the first couple of reviews are not visible, and become visible only if I toggle the sorting option from ‘most helpful’ to ‘most recent’. Then they appear. But though every review includes a recommendation, the page declares I have ‘no recommendations yet’ and my rating is ‘0 out of 5’ when it used to be ‘5 out of 5’.

I’m going to try to contact any site I can think of to look for advise and to publicise this issue. If I get any joy, I’ll come back and post again.

' src=

Pretty much the same for me too. I make wedding cakes. I noticed ages ago that the rating had gone to 0 and a number of reviews were missing. Now the whole tab is missing. I can go onto the templates and tabs setting and re-activate it, but it flicks back off and just won’t show.

' src=

THE REVIEW TAB ON MY FACEBOOK WAS SUDDENLY SWITCHED OFF AND I CAN’T ADD IT AGAIN. IT WILL AUTOMTICALLY OFF.

' src=

My total review tab cannot be switched on. It comes up with an error message if you try to switch it on. So the reviews have disappeared with the tab. It is only the review tab that is a problem.

' src=

As horrifying as it should be, but our page rating on Facebook (the name of my page is – Royally Homemade) is dropping everyday. If you check on Google, we are still at 4.9. Not a single negative review but the Star rating has dropped to 4.0 from 4.9 star. We had over 300 five star reviews but now we can see only 33. Facebook doesn’t take any action against this issue no matter how many times you report it.

Frustrating as hell and very shameful because we spent a lot of money on Facebook and this platform has horribly failed to bring genuine leads from last 1 year and solve such serious issues related to reviews. The reputation of every company depends on the star rating, especially when attracting the future potential customers. How can Facebook be so ignorant towards these business pages when it is earning a fortune from the money that we are spending on it? Such a big shame!

' src=

Same story here. Does anyone have any ideas as to how we could group up to get a bit more traction to attract facebook attention?

' src=

I have had a chat about this with a FB concierge (Bot most likely) and have logged the issue. I was given a case number so I’ll return to the chat in a week to see whats happening. Hopefully a human looks at this.

Makes our pages look shit if it appears that we are hiding reviews so hopefully this gets sorted out soon.

' src=

My business with about 60 recommendations has gone changed to a rating of zero!

If someone tries to do a new review, it posts the review on their personal status rather than my page.

Facebook don’t want to know. Will focus on building Google reviews and spending on Google Ads from now on.

The Complete Guide to Taylor Swift's New 'Tortured Poets' Double Album, by Fans for Fans

We now know Taylor Swift can "do it with a broken heart." Here's everything else you need to know about her new double album.

facebook reviews hidden

Taylor Swift's Tortured Poets era is here. Swift's newest album The Tortured Poets Department dropped on April 19 -- and then 2 hours later, she dropped another one, The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology. The double album shocker gave fans 31 new songs, including the four bonus tracks that were previously exclusive to the CD variant editions. To wrap up release day, Swift also dropped the music video for the album's lead single, Fortnight featuring Post Malone.

Swift described  Tortured Poets on her Instagram as a reflection of "a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time -- one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure." Within its first day of release, Tortured Poets was already breaking records: It was the most streamed album in a single day in 2024,  Billboard reports .

Read more : Apple Music vs. Spotify: How to Decide

Swift announced The Tortured Poets Department in February, after winning her 14th Grammy award. Since then, she's unveiled four variants of The Tortured Poets Department, during the most recent leg of The Eras Tour . Additionally, a mysterious  YouTube Short  was posted to Taylor's account, encouraging fans to join the "For a Fortnight Challenge."

Here's everything you need to know about listening to The Tortured Poets Department. We'll keep updating this story with any of the last-minute announcements and surprises Swift undoubtedly has in store. For more, here's how to stream The Eras Tour concert film and here's our list of the  best music streaming services of 2024 .

How to stream Taylor Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department

You can stream The Tortured Poets Department on your streaming service of choice. Both Spotify and Apple Music subscribers are currently able to stream The Tortured Poets Department, as well as users of YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Pandora and Tidal.

That includes The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, which contains all 31 new songs. You can see all the options at Swift's link tree here .

Tracks and collaborators on The Tortured Poets Department

The Tortured Poets Department has 16 brand-new songs and four variant-specific bonus tracks. Post Malone and Florence & The Machine both appear on the album, and Swift teamed up with long-time friend Jack Antonoff and recent collaborator Aaron Dessner on her latest record.

This record has several solo writing credits for Swift. My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys and Who's Afraid of Little Old Me were both penned solely by the superstar. With the release of TTPD: The Anthology, Swift adds The Black Dog, imgonnagetyouback, Peter and The Manuscript to her solo songwriting credits.

The standard tracklist for the album is as follows:

1 . Fortnight (featuring Post Malone) 2 . The Tortured Poets Department 3 . My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys 4 . Down Bad 5 . So Long, London 6 . But Daddy I Love Him 7 . Fresh Out the Slammer 8 . Florida!!! (featuring Florence & The Machine) 9 . Guilty as Sin? 10 . Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? 11 . I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) 12 . loml 13 . I Can Do It with a Broken Heart 14 . The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived 15 . The Alchemy 16 . Clara Bow 17 . The Black Dog 18 . imgonnagetyouback 19 . The Albatross 20 . Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus 21 . How Did It End? 22 . So High School 23 . I Hate It Here 24 . thanK you aIMee 25 . I Look in People's Windows 26 . The Prophecy 27 . Cassandra 28 . Peter 29 . The Bolter 30 . Robin 31 . The Manuscript

The first 16 songs were expected as part of the release of The Tortured Poets, but at 2 a.m. on April 19, Swift surprised fans with a double album release. Songs 17 through 31 make up the second half of The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.

How to find The Tortured Poets Department on CD and vinyl

There are four confirmed variant editions of TTPD, named after the bonus track each will include: The Bolter , The Albatross , The Black Dog and The Manuscript . While the variants are available for sale on Swift's website, fans can also find them at Target. These do not include the extra 15 songs included in TTPD: The Anthology.

The majority of the variant editions are available as CDs, including The Bolter, The Albatross and The Black Dog. The fourth variant edition, named after the bonus song The Manuscript , is available as a CD and on vinyl in phantom clear or ghost white colors only at Target. Swift also held preorders for vinyl bundles of the other variant editions (The Bolter, The Albatross and The Black Dog) that included a deluxe CD and cassette, but those were only available until April 12.

In every social media post that Taylor Swift has made, she includes the same preorder link , which includes other retailers besides her website and Target, like Barnes & Noble. At Target, you can buy each CD individually for $14, and The Manuscript vinyl is $46. There is not currently a place where you can find all four of the bonus songs on the same CD, which is why completists and collectors ought to be prepared to drop some cash .

How do I stream bonus songs and The Tortured Poets Anthology?

Good news: As part of the 2 a.m. double album release, the four confirmed bonus songs are included in TTPD: The Anthology. So now you don't need to buy each of the four variant editions on CD and vinyl to listen to The Bolter, The Albatross, The Black Dog and The Manuscript. TTPD: The Anthology is available wherever you stream music.

The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology has yet to see a physical release, though there is a digital download available for $15 on Swift's website. So fans and collectors will still need to buy the variant physical copies of the album if you want to hear the four bonus tracks. We'll update this story if Swift releases a physical version of TTPD: The Anthology. You may hear clips of the album on TikTok as Swift recently agreed to allow some of her songs back on the app.

This isn't how Swift has previously handled bonus song releases. With her last original album Midnights in 2022, she dropped songs in stages: the original album, a 3 a.m. release with seven more songs, then haphazardly released singles on CD and vinyl. There are three versions of the album on streaming, but there still isn't one central album -- on streaming, CD or vinyl -- where you can listen to all of the songs from the Midnights era. So it's safe to say that Swift took the shorter route this tiime.

What to know about the alleged leak of The Tortured Poets Department

On April 18, just a day before the album was due to drop, the BBC reported that there had allegedly been a leak of Swift's latest album. The leak has not been confirmed or denied by Swift's camp, but fans online have encouraged one another not to listen to the new album until the official release by Swift. In addition, X (formerly Twitter) has banned  searches for "Taylor Swift leak" much like the platform did when AI-generated explicit images of Swift circulated earlier this year.

While some fans online claimed to have listened to the leak, we recommend that you stream the album on Spotify or Apple. Not Clicking on links advertising a leaked copy of the album might not be  safe . Bad actors are likely to capitalize on fans' excitement for the album, and those links could potentially be dangerous viruses or explicit content.

M3 MacBook Air is the only Apple laptop you should get right now. Period.

If you buy through a BGR link, we may earn an affiliate commission, helping support our expert product labs.

Apple’s MacBook Pro lineup is still the go-to laptop series for Apple fans who really need tons of power. If you edit video for a living, the cutting-edge M3 Pro and M3 Max chips make all the difference in the world. Of course, only a very small percentage of users have a real, genuine need for that much power. For everyone else, the M3 MacBook Air is the only laptop you should even consider right now. Period. Full stop.

First released in March 2024, Apple’s M3 MacBook Air offers tons of power and fantastic performance for much less money than a MacBook Pro. That’s especially true right now, while the M3 MacBook Air is on sale starting at just $989 . That’s a new all-time low price for this model, which is pretty shocking when you consider that it was released just last month.

Amazon Logo

Compared to the previous-generation M2 model, the M3 MacBook Air isn’t a huge upgrade. Apple has admitted that much. In terms of power, here’s how it compares to the previous-generation model, according to Apple itself:

Tech. Entertainment. Science. Your inbox.

Needless to say, that’s not a huge difference. And for someone like me who already has an M2 MacBook Air, the new M3 MacBook Air shouldn’t even be a consideration.

I wasn’t exactly due for an upgrade since the older MacBook Pro I was using still works fine. But Apple’s new 15-inch MacBook Air was definitely calling my name, and I couldn’t hold out anymore. I bought one while it was on sale for Black Friday, and I’m blown away by how fast it is. I also love the new, larger 15-inch display. My MacBook Pro had a 13-inch screen, so the extra real estate is much appreciated.

The M3 MacBook Air 15-inch is currently down to $1,199 instead of $1,299 . Or, if you want the more compact M3 MacBook Air 13-inch, it’s on sale for just $989, down from $1,099 .

This is one of Apple’s best laptops ever. You can read all about the larger version in BGR’s in-depth MacBook Air 15-inch review .

The M3 version that powers the base-model 15-inch MacBook Air has an 8-core CPU alongside a 10-core GPU. It’s fast, powerful, and perhaps best of all, efficient. According to Apple, the 15-inch MacBook Air offers up to 18 hours of battery life on a single charge. That means many people can likely go two full days before they’ll have to recharge it.

Despite the larger size, Apple’s new 15-inch MacBook Air only weighs 3.3 lbs. That definitely makes it portable enough to be worthy of the “Air” moniker.

At just $989 for the M3 MacBook Air 13-inch and $1,199 for the M3 MacBook Air 15-inch, these brand-new Apple laptops offer even more value right now than they already did at full retail. I think those are phenomenal prices for Apple’s best-ever MacBook Air model.

The M1 MacBook Air was one of the first Mac computers to get an M-series chip. It’s also still one of the best, and it’s on sale at a deep discount. The M3 model is a much better option right now, for all the reasons we mentioned above. But if you’re on a tight budget and the M3 MacBook Air is beyond your reach, the M1 version is a great fallback.

You really can’t go wrong with either deal, so it’s a question of your budget and how much power you need. If all you plan to do is browse the web and stream movies, you can definitely get away with the cheaper M1 MacBook Air. At $699, you’ll save a good chunk of change compared to buying one of the newer M3 models.

It might not seem like 2 inches would make a big difference, but remember that those are diagonal inches. The jump up to the new model’s 15.3-inch display actually adds about 25% more screen real estate compared to the 13-inch MacBook Air. Needless to say, that’s a big upgrade.

Once you’re set up to receive Facebook reviews, you can gently push your customers to leave their thoughts and recommendations. Customers often don’t realize how critical their reviews are to their favorite businesses.

7 out of 10 customers will leave a review if asked to do so. That means all you need to do is ask, and you shall receive. If asking for Facebook reviews sounds uncomfortable, know you’re not alone. Many business owners have trouble with this part, but luckily, we have some ideas to help you.

  • Use these email templates to ask for reviews
  • Create automated follow-ups via text, email or direct mail
  • Offer a coupon or voucher if people check in
  • Require people to check in if they want to use your WiFi
  • Give a free upgrade if people check in
  • Promote a great review from Facebook on your website with a call-to-action
  • Put up signs requesting reviews in the office waiting room
  • Ask customers directly after you’ve provided a service they’re happy with
  • Create a link to your review page so its easier for customers

Troubleshooting Facebook reviews

You may run into complications with your Facebook reviews. Maybe you’re getting bad reviews from someone who is not a customer, or the review isn’t truthful. You can report these reviews to Facebook for an independent review. Facebook will evaluate it and decide if the review will be removed. Learn more about removing negative reviews from your Facebook page.

How to respond to negative reviews

Responding to reviews is a critical part of your social media presence. Customers want to see your response to positive and negative reviews. Although, we can all admit that responding to negative reviews is the most difficult.

When responding to negative reviews, acknowledge their concerns, commit to improving the situation, and then take the conversation offline. You can use a template like this:

“Thank you for your review. Customer satisfaction is really important to us, and we’re sorry that we may have missed the mark. We’re working with our team to remedy the situation, and we will reach out to you with the next steps.”

Responding to your reviews helps solidify your online reputation. Whether they are positive or negative reviews, thoughtful responses should be part of your social media marketing strategy.

How to turn off Facebook reviews

Before you turn off your Facebook reviews, consider the repercussions. Consumers often view a lack of reviews as a deterrent to hiring a company. So unless you’re in an extenuating circumstance, reviews should likely be left on.

However, if you do need to turn off your Facebook reviews, you can do so in your Facebook settings. Keep in mind that other review sites, like Google, will not let you turn off reviews.

Improve your social media reputation with Broadly

There are plenty of ways to let customers know you’d like to receive more Facebook reviews , and one of those ways is to express how helpful they are to your business’s success. Broadly can help you get more reviews and manage your online reputation across social media platforms from one platform.

I visited the island that's been called the 'Hawaii of Europe.' Here's why it's a must-see hidden gem.

  • I visited Madeira, Portugal, which is often referred to as the " Hawaii of Europe."
  • Madeira offers a mild climate all year, rugged coastlines, and a bustling city center.
  • I recommend checking out places like Monte Palace and the Cabo Girão skywalk.

Insider Today

When I visited Madeira, Portugal , I found an island paradise brimming with natural wonders and cultural opportunities.

From outdoor adventures to trips to the enchanting Funchal city center, this Portuguese hidden gem has sparked comparisons to Hawaii due to the island's striking volcanic features, black-sand beaches, and towering peaks.

Madeira is the perfect blend of a tropical and European vacation, coupled with its yearlong mild climate, rugged coastlines, cascading waterfalls, and verdant cliffs.

With visitation at an all-time high , there's never been a better time to explore Portugal. Here are seven things you have to do while in Madeira.

Get a taste of outdoor adventure while hiking.

The view from the Pico do Arieiro mountaintop left me speechless.

You can truly appreciate Madeira's diverse landscapes from up there: jagged peaks, verdant valleys, and the endless expanse of the Atlantic Ocean stretching out before you.

I opted for a car ride to the top, but if you plan to hike, I recommend heading to the Vereda dos Balcões trail or the challenging but rewarding Levada do Caldeirão Verde.

When you need a break from hiking, catch a ride on the Funchal cable cars.

Located in the city center, the Funchal cable cars offer spectacular views as they ascend from Funchal to the charming village of Monte. It's perfect if you're traveling with family, including kids or elders.

Once in Monte, you can visit one of the island's main attractions, Monte Palace.

Monte Palace is the best botanical garden I’ve ever been to.

Monte Palace houses a huge collection of exotic plants from all over the world. The tropical gardens are also home to gorgeous birds like swans, flamingos, peacocks, and chickens.

From its beautiful gardens to its collection of ceramic tiles and precious gemstones, this place feels like a hidden oasis in the midst of the city.

If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, check out the Cabo Girão skywalk.

If there's something I love as much as the outdoors, it's a unique experience . So when I heard of Cabo Girão, the highest sea cliff in Europe , I knew I had to visit.

The top of the cliff features a unique glass-floored skywalk suspended over 1,900 feet above sea level. When standing on the glass, I got unmatched views of Madeira's rugged coastline and the crashing waves underneath.

When in Madeira, skip the beer and stick to its famous wine.

facebook reviews hidden

In addition to being the name of the name of the island, Madeira is also a type of fortified wine. Needless to say, you can't leave without visiting a vineyard to learn more about the island's winemaking heritage.

I highly recommend booking a guided tour with a tasting to see the grapes firsthand and gain insights into the intricate aging process that gives these wines unique flavors.

Take a trip to the local market.

facebook reviews hidden

Whenever I visit a new city or country, I like to stop at the local farmers market . In Madeira, I visited the Mercado dos Lavradores, which is located in the heart of Funchal.

It was a great opportunity to sample local delicacies while buying souvenirs from local craftsmen.

For a glimpse into everyday life, don’t skip a visit to the Camara da Lobos fishing village.

facebook reviews hidden

Away from the city center and less frequented by tourists , the picturesque fishing village of Camara da Lobos offers a slice of authentic island life.

Grab a poncha, a local Madeira cocktail, and admire the dozens of art murals that surround the community, all while enjoying the colorful harbor and fishermen unloading their catch of the day.
