Our Methodology

We used our research methodology to analyze Wix’s pricing and recent plan changes, allowing us to determine whether Wix is good value for money.

Written and researched by:

Wix is our top-rated website builder in our research, meaning we’ve put it to the test and found it to be the best website builder overall! But how much does it cost? More importantly, is it good value for money?

Wix offers four premium plans, which give users a range of options to choose from depending on their needs, from online selling to enterprise businesses. The prices range from $16 per month (for the Light plan)to $159 per month (for the Business Elite plan)  when billed annually. There is also the custom-priced Enterprise plan . Wix stands out in our research because it offers the best range of features available, like an easy-to-use editor, contact forms, and a professional blogging platform. This makes it ideal for personal websites and projects.

You can get 10% off all Wix’s plans using the code ‘ TAKE10 ’ at the checkout. There’s also a free plan you can use indefinitely – but there are a few limitations.

Wix Pricing Plans

  • Free plan: – $0 per month – For those who want to try Wix
  • Light plan: – $16 per month – For portfolios and personal sites
  • Core plan: – $27/month – For small online stores and growing businesses
  • Business: – $32/month – For established businesses
  • Business Elite: – $159/month – For large businesses with advanced needs
  • Enterprise: – Custom pricing – For global brands and industry titans

How Much Does Wix Cost?

Four Wix website builder price plans

Across its four premium plans, Wix costs between $16 per month (billed annually) and $159 per month (billed annually). The cheapest plan, the Light plan , is great for those seeking a personal website or a professional portfolio.

If you want Wix ecommerce features, you’ll have to skip the Light plan and move to either the Core, Business, or Business Elite plans . With these plans, you’ll be able to sell up to 50,000 products and you’ll get access to shipping capabilities and advanced analytics.

The Enterprise plan is only for large business franchises and requires a call with the Wix sales team, as the price will be custom to what you want to achieve. However, thanks to our long-standing research in the industry, we can make a conservative estimate of around $5,000-$25,000 per year (billed annually).

What’s the difference between paying monthly and annually?

For example, Wix lists the Light plan as $16 per month when billed annually, meaning you’ll be paying for 12 months of use in advance. At checkout, you’ll have to pay $192.

Paying monthly means the subscription gets paid each month, much like Netflix or Spotify. Wix entices its users to pay annually by offering a reduced monthly fee. By paying annually, users can save $84 per year for the Light and Core plans than if they paid monthly.

Whichever payment option you choose will depend on your financial situation. If you don’t have the money for the annual payment immediately or don’t see yourself having the website live for over a year, then the monthly plan is a better option. However, we recommend the annual prices as we believe they are a better representation of the value for money of the builder.

Is The Free Plan Really Free?

Yes! There is zero cost involved with building and publishing a website on Wix . Simply go to Wix, put in your email address and you can start building and editing your website with Wix’s fantastic features for $0 (without any credit card details)! Better yet, there’s no time limit, meaning that the Wix website is now yours forever — for free.

However, Wix’s free plan only comes with 500MB of storage, which is barely enough if you plan to upload videos or high-quality images directly to your site. Other limitations can only be solved by upgrading, such as:

  • You can’t use your own domain name
  • You’ll have Wix ads displayed on your site
  • You can’t sell online
  • You only get limited features – for example, you’ll have no access to Google Analytics which means you won’t be able to track your website’s performance with this tool
  • You receive basic customer support – priority support is only available on premium plans so you might be left stranded if you need a helping hand

Wix ad displayed on demo Wix website for Lucy's Cupcakes

So, do we recommend Wix’s free plan? Well, sort of – the free plan is really only suitable for playing around with and testing. The Wix domain and banner ads give any site an unprofessional look and feel. If you’re serious about your site, then picking a paid plan is a much smarter choice. It is worth highlighting that you can always build your site on the free plan and then upgrade.

Is There a Free Trial?

As an alternative to Wix’s free plan, you can opt for a 14-day free trial of one of Wix’s premium plans. This is much better suited for those who may want access to Wix’s premium features, like ecommerce tools or increased storage – plus, there are no ads or other limitations (you still won’t be able to accept payments until you are on a paid-for plan).

The free trial will require you to enter payment details to kick things off.

Are There Any Discounts?

Wix is currently offering 10% off all its pricing plans if you use code TAKE10 at checkout. This deal is a great way to get full access to Wix at a cheaper price than usual.

Take a look at the table below and see how much you could save when using the discount.

Additionally, Wix for Students offers 50% off its plans if you go to Wix or the StudentBeans website. This is a fantastic deal to get the best website-building experience for an affordable price. You’ll need to have a recognized student I.D. to apply.

Is Wix Good Value for Money?

It depends . In our overall website builder ranking, Wix scores 3.7 out of 5 for value for money, coming in at a joint 4th place. While its plans can be expensive, there are very few builders that will offer a free plan with no time limit and an amazing depth of creativity and features.

Also, these features get rolled out with such high quality and at such a fast pace that other builders can barely keep up. In just a year, Wix SEO secured integrations with Google Analytics, Semrush, and Microsoft Clarity, becoming an absolute powerhouse.

But as we mentioned, the Wix free plan comes with a lot of limitations that almost force users to upgrade eventually. The Light plan is Wix’s cheapest, starting at $16 per month, but that plan comes with zero ecommerce capabilities, limited access to Wix features (no site analytics, site chat, or calendar app), and only 2GB of storage. For the best value for money, we recommend users start with the Core plan at $27 per month, which gives you access to a fuller range of essential website-building features, like ecommerce, events booking, and analytics.

How Does Wix Compare to Other Competitors?

a graph of blue and pruple

As you can see from the graph, Wix is an outlier among other website builders due to its cheapest plan not being its best value for money. Comparing Wix vs Squarespace’s cheapest plan, the Personal plan also begins at $16 per month. Feature-wise, it is almost on par with Wix’s Core plan ($27 per month).

The Light plan is just a slightly upgraded version of Wix’s free plan. For $16 per month, that is quite a dent in a budget, especially when considering the starting price of GoDaddy ($10.99 per month) and Hostinger ($2.99 per month).

However, the Core plan is everything you’d want and more from Wix, coming with all the features, integrations, and ecommerce capabilities. If you want to start an online business or professional website, then the Core plan will deliver on its price tag – the price is a little higher than other competitors, but our research shows that the value it brings more than compensates for it.

Light Plan: $16 per Month – For Portfolios and Personal Sites

  • Monthly price: $23 per month
  • Annual price: $16 per month

✔️ 2GB of storage

✔️ Free domain for 1 year

✔️ Removes ads from the site

❌ Limited amount of features

❌ No ecommerce capabilities (you can’t sell online)

❌ No access to website analytics, making it harder to track your site’s performance and engage with your audience

The Light plan is Wix’s cheapest plan. Besides the removal of ads, we found there’s not much difference between it and the free plan. The plan lacks many of the great features Wix is known for, like:

  • No ticket or event management
  • No restaurant management
  • No hotel management
  • No ecommerce

For $16 per month, you get the removal of ads, a free custom domain (for a year), and some basic marketing features. A disappointing amount for any potential new businesses, but ideal for small and informational websites like blogs, portfolios, and resumes.

With no ads and your own domain, your site gains some legitimacy. The Light plan gives you access to automated emails and lead-generation forms, making it good for simple promotion.

Three Wix template results in the template library for

This is all on top of the amazing Wix templates and editor you get to build your site in. Wix gains our highest score for templates in our research, with 4.3 out of 5. So even with limited features, your site will still look stunning.

Core Plan: $27 per Month – For Small Online Stores and Growing Businesses

  • Monthly price: $34 per month
  • Annual price: $27 per month

✔️ 50GB of storage

✔️ Access to a range of features, including ticketing and WixFit

✔️ Unlock ecommerce features, including abandoned cart recovery, discounts, and selling via socials

❌ Limited sales tools – can’t add multiple currencies or product reviews

The Core plan is Wix’s best value-for-money plan and our recommended starting point for anyone choosing Wix as a website builder. It includes ecommerce features – finally letting you sell on the platform – and it also comes with a host of specialist features for certain industries.

We can’t list them ALL here, but a few these are are our choice favorites:

  • 5 collaborators
  • Basic site analytics to monitor traffic and performance
  • Basic ecommerce tools – sell up to 50,000 products, Wix Payments , and sell on marketplaces/social channels
  • Wix dropshipping – up to 25 products by Modalyst
  • No transaction fees
  • Wix Hotel , Restaurant, and Fit platforms for each respective industry
  • Wix Bookings and Event management for scheduling and organizing appointments and in-person events
  • Stream music and videos and sell your original artwork

On top of this, you will get everything from the Light plan, plus explore even more features in the easy-to-use editor.

With all these features, the Core plan is perfect for those starting an online business or taking an existing business online. There is no app store required or extra fees incurred for specific industry tools and features (unlike Shopify or Squarespace). Plus, Wix has over 900 templates that will make sure you have a handy framework when designing it as they cover more industries than you can imagine !

While the Core plan’s features certainly impress, many of them are still offered in a ‘basic’ form – most evidently, the ecommerce tools. Important features like product reviews, accepting multiple currencies, and advanced shipping options are only available on the Business plan.

The Core plan is a decent choice if your website is in the early stages of growth, but once sales pick up it may be time to upgrade once again.

Business Plan: $32 per Month – For Established Businesses

  • Monthly price: $38 per month
  • Annual price: $32 per month

✔️ 100GB of storage

✔️ Unlock advanced shipping and product reviews for your store

✔️ Add multiple currencies and calculate sales tax automatically

❌ No access to premium customer service

❌ Stuck with the same basic analytics as the cheaper Wix plans

Once your store is getting steady sales, advanced tools are needed to keep up with demand. Enter the Business plan, the first of three ecommerce-dedicated plans by Wix.

You get all the aforementioned features that come with the Core plan, plus some brand new features designed primarily for selling online, such as:

  • Automated sales tax on 100 transactions per month
  • 1,000 product reviews provided by KudoBuzz
  • Unlimited ‘Back in Stock’ notifications
  • Advanced shipping plus 250 products available for dropshipping by Modalyst
  • Multiple currencies

These features are surely welcome for any online business wanting to scale up. In our research, Wix came joint second for sales features with 4.2 out of 5 . We found that the Business plan is considerably cheaper when compared with the nearest competition. It costs only $32 per month for Wix’s plan vs Shopify’s $79 per month for a similar plan .

A lot of the features introduced on the Core plan have been upgraded too, giving you 10 collaborators and the ability to assign roles, plus access to external databases. This makes it easier than ever to manage employees. However, not every feature has received this treatment, and even on the Business plan, you’ll still receive the same basic analytics and Wix customer service as those on the Light plan .

Business Elite Plan: $159 per Month – For Large Businesses with Advanced Needs

  • Monthly price: $172 per month
  • Annual price: $159 per month

✔️ Unlimited storage space for larger businesses

✔️ Advanced marketing and ecommerce tools like a loyalty program

✔️ Priority customer support

❌ Very expensive plan

❌ Not a beginner-friendly option

Just from the price alone, you can probably guess that the Business Elite plan is a different beast altogether. If you’re looking for the tippy-top of what Wix can offer your average online business owner, the Business Elite plan takes all the previously mentioned features and turns them to 11 , including:

  • Unlimited storage space
  • 15 collaborators, which is helpful for large businesses to delegate work
  • Advanced features, including marketing tools, analytics, and ecommerce
  • Priority VIP phone support so you can skip the queue
  • Retain customers with loyalty programs to share discounts, coupons, and rewards
  • Collect up to 3,000 product reviews to help improve customer trust
  • Sell unlimited products with Modalyst dropshipping

The biggest mark against this plan is price. We’d only recommend the Business Elite to thriving online businesses that need the support and can easily foot the bill – or established brick-and-mortar stores wanting to make a transition online . Either way, we don’t think this plan is good for beginners, and reiterate that the Core plan is the best value for your money .

That being said, for a high-end ecommerce plan, the Business Elite plan is cheaper than its competitors, with Advanced Shopify costing $299 per month (billed annually). If you are looking to make a switch from Shopify, the Business Elite certainly makes a good alternative, but we’d recommend all potential users try it out first with the 14-day free trial, as it’s a big commitment to make.

Enterprise Plan: Custom Pricing – For Global Brands and Industry Titans

✔️ Face no limitations when scaling your business

✔️ Dedicated account manager to help you succeed

❌ Custom plan means you’ll only know what your total is once you are given a quote that covers all your needs

❌ Only suitable for industry-leading businesses

This plan is not meant for your average Joe. Used by the likes of Kroger, Clarins, and Hello Fresh,  Wix Enterprise is intended to be used by big brands and industry leaders.

You get everything on the Business Elite plan, plus the unique feature of having a dedicated account manager to help you run your business. This includes a custom, super-charged Wix editor with developer-built component blocks and a global infrastructure of networks to support you –  all managed from a multi-site dashboard.

We know the majority of our readers are small-to-medium-sized businesses, but your business could one day get successful enough to need an enterprise plan, so it’s good to know. Since the pricing is custom, we can’t comment on the exact pricing Wix offers, but our research estimates it at around $5,000 – $25,000 per year, depending on size.

Does Wix Have Additional Fees?

Wix has some additional fees  – but all of them can be avoided. A caveat to this is if you are selling online, paying for the processing fees is impossible to avoid with Wix.

Wix Auto-Renewal

If you don’t want your plan to auto-renew, you can simply turn it off in your settings. Here’s how:

  • Go to “Billing and Payments” in your Wix account
  • Click “Plan Actions”
  • Click “Cancel Now”

Don’t worry – clicking “Cancel Now” doesn’t actually cancel your plan then and there. Instead, it means your plan won’t automatically renew the next time your subscription expires.

Wix Domain Name

Wix domains are free for the first year. After this, it will cost between $14.95 – $24.85 per year , depending on how specialized they are.

If you don’t pay for your domain, then someone else can register that domain name and use it for themselves. Your domain name’s renewal happens automatically so that you don’t lose your domain – but you can cancel the auto-renewal at any time in your settings.

Custom Email Address

Wix offers a Google Suite email address through its dashboard for $6 per month (billed annually) and $6.50 if you choose monthly billing.

Most of Wix’s features are built-in, but it does offer an app store for extra functionalities. Wix has +500 apps – of which 24 are free to use.

The rest will cost a monthly fee between $3-$20 per month . This will be heavily dependent on your website’s needs, so do some research on what you may want before building.

Screenshot of Wix's app market and its marketing apps.

Wix Payments Processing Fee

Wix charges a standard 2.9% + $0.30 on each transaction for users using Credit/Debit Cards, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.

If you are using a physical Wix Payments POS, then you will be charged 2.6% for cards and 2.6% + $0.20 for Tap to Pay on mobile .

Each of these fees differs depending on the region you’re in. We’ve shown the US rates, but if you are in a different region, we suggest you check out Wix’s service fees breakdown .

Processing fees are not included on returns either.

How We Test

We put Wix through hours of testing to determine whether it’s good value for money. Our research process looks at a variety of categories, including website features and ease of use, but when it comes to price, we analyze a few key areas.

Every website builder has recently increased its pricing, so our algorithm has been adjusted to reflect this change. Beyond reviewing Wix’s restructuring of its plans, we specifically look at whether Wix has a free trial or free plan (it has both), the average pricing plan, and the minimum standard of features you get for the lowest price you pay.

Summary of Wix Pricing Plans

Wix is our best-rated website builder in our research and offers four premium plans – plus a free plan and an enterprise plan. Let’s recap their prices:

  • Free plan: $0 per month – For those who want to try Wix
  • Light plan: $16 per month – For portfolios and personal sites
  • Core plan: $27 per month – For small online stores and growing businesses
  • Business plan: $32 per month – For established businesses
  • Business Elite plan: $159 per month – For large businesses with advanced needs
  • Enterprise plan: Custom pricing – For global brands and industry titans

Of these plans, the best value for money is the Core plan for $27 per month (billed annually). While it is a little more expensive than Squarespace or GoDaddy, those builders can’t compete with the amount of features and support you get with the Core plan.

If you have a small online store or a growing business, the value of the Core plan is worth its higher price tag. Wix provides all the tools you need to succeed off the bat. All that is left is the key ingredient: you!

Wix Pricing Breakdown: Evaluating the Best and Least Favorable Plan

Luis Santiago Saldivar - Writer for Top10

Finding the best website builder for your unique requirements isn't easy, especially when seeking a balance between functionality, aesthetics, and affordability.

Among the many options, Wix stands out as the world's #1 ranking website builder , well-known for its ease of use and wide range of features.

But with such a diverse scope of plans and pricing options, how do you determine which Wix plan aligns perfectly with your needs and budget? Let's dissect and compare Wix's pricing plans to find the perfect fit for your website—whether you're a freelancer, small business owner, or part of an expanding enterprise.

» Read our in-depth Wix review for more.

Wix's Pricing Plans at a Glance

Getting to know wix's pricing plans.

Wix has a range of pricing plans tailored to various website needs, all the way from free to premium plans packed with advanced features. Here's a breakdown of each.

Wix's Free Plan

Wix's free version is your cost-free gateway to the world of website building. With a secure SSL certificate included, you can ensure your visitors' data is protected, albeit on a basic level. The provision of some customer support, despite being fundamental, is beneficial if you're just starting out.

However, for more serious or business-oriented websites, I'd recommend more robust options provided by Wix's paid plans to expand and maintain a professional online presence.

  • Free entry into web creation
  • Basic security and SSL certificate
  • Beginner-friendly
  • No custom domain
  • Very limited features
  • Wix ads appear on your site

Wix's Connect Domain Plan

Price: $4.50/month

Wix's Connect Domain plan is the most basic paid tier, offering a step up from the free version for those ready to establish a stronger online presence. In my opinion, this plan is ideal if you want a more professional-looking site without diving into all the bells and whistles.

With this plan, you get access to a custom domain . It also includes 1GB of bandwidth and 500MB of storage, which can accommodate small websites with modest traffic. Basic customer support is accessible, but like with the free plan, priority support is not included.

  • Affordable custom domain connection
  • 24/7 customer support
  • Limited bandwidth and storage
  • Lacks advanced features

» Give your website an edge with these free Wix templates .

Wix's Combo Plan

Price: $8.50/month

I use the Combo plan from Wix for my personal projects and find it strikes the right balance between affordability and essential features. With 3GB of storage and 2GB of bandwidth, it's perfect if you need more resources than the most basic plan delivers but don't require the extensive features of higher-tier plans.

This plan is a practical step up if you're looking to enhance your website's functionality and professional appeal—ideal for personal blogs or small businesses aiming to make a bit more noise online.

  • Free domain for one year
  • Google Ads budget
  • 30 minutes of video
  • Cannot accommodate high traffic
  • Lacks advanced features and customer support of more premium plans

business plan wix.com

Wix's Unlimited Plan

Price: $12.50/month

Wix's Unlimited plan is my favorite choice for entrepreneurs and freelancers. It offers unlimited bandwidth—a significant plus for growing websites expecting increasing traffic.

The plan also includes 10GB of storage, which should suffice for various multimedia content without too much concern about running out of space. Plus, including the Site Booster app and Visitor Analytics app for one year can be a substantial benefit for SEO and understanding website traffic patterns.

  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • 10GB of storage
  • Valuable add-ons like Site Booster and Visitor Analytics
  • More expensive than basic plans
  • Content-heavy sites may require even more space

Wix's VIP Plan

Price: $24.50/month

Wix's VIP plan is the best option if you're seeking first-priority support and a full suite of features. It provides substantial storage space at 35GB, catering to content-rich sites. It also includes unlimited bandwidth, which means your website can handle high traffic volumes without any hitches.

I like the added perks, such as the Professional Logo and Social Media Logo files, which bring value for branding, and the Google Ads voucher, which can give marketing efforts a head start.

  • Lots of storage
  • Priority customer support
  • Abandoned cart recovery feature
  • Not beginner-friendly

Wix's Business Basic Plan

Price: $17/month

Wix's Business Basic plan is the entry-level option for small businesses, offering a cost-effective solution for eCommerce sites.

The plan offers unlimited bandwidth, which means it can accommodate an increasing number of visitors and growing website activity without the risk of hitting data limits. It provides 20GB of storage, which is plenty for a variety of small business needs, and five hours of video—enough to get started with multimedia content.

  • Sufficient storage for small business operations
  • Allows online payments and social media sales
  • Video hours may not be enough for content-heavy strategies
  • Lacks advanced eCommerce features

» Need even more options? Check out our best website builders for small businesses .

Wix's Business Unlimited Plan

Price: $25/month

Tagged as their most popular business plan, Wix's Business Unlimited plan is tailored for growing businesses looking to scale their online operations. It offers unlimited bandwidth, 35GB of storage, and 10 hours of video content, which I think is especially useful for businesses leveraging multimedia for engagement.

The plan also includes applications for boosting site traffic and analyzing visitor behavior—which is crucial for online growth strategies .

  • eCommerce features like subscriptions and multiple currencies
  • Tools for traffic generation and visitor analytics
  • Lacks support of higher-tier business plans
  • No access to dropshipping or product reviews

Wix's Business VIP Plan

Price: $35/month

I like Wix's Business VIP plan as a top-tier option for businesses that need a full suite of services. It provides extensive resources with 50GB of storage and unlimited video hours, making it well-suited for content-heavy sites.

Additionally, it includes robust eCommerce features like the ability to offer subscriptions and sell on social media and online marketplaces in multiple currencies.

  • Advanced eCommerce features
  • Priority customer service
  • Access to a loyalty program by Smile.io
  • Steep learning curve for beginners

Wix's Enterprise Plan

Price: Custom

Wix's Enterprise plan is a custom, scalable solution designed to meet large-scale businesses' complex and varied needs. It provides features like a dedicated account manager, multi-site dashboards for streamlined management, and tailored solutions to match your specific business requirements.

If your organization is looking for an all-encompassing web platform that can deliver fast content deployment, customization, and integration, all supported by enterprise-grade security, this high-end offering is designed with your needs in mind.

  • Comprehensive tools for migration, fulfillment, and scalable billing solutions
  • Built to support high-traffic sites with high reliability and uptime
  • Personalized services and support
  • For large businesses only
  • Unclear pricing structure

Navigating Wix's Diverse Plans: Your Perfect Fit Unveiled

In the rapidly expanding world of website builders, which is projected to reach a market size of $3.8 billion by 2030 , Wix's plans offer a diverse range of functionalities. To pick the best fit, you must understand your site's needs and envision its growth.

For the budding blogger or ambitious brand, lower-tier plans like the Combo and Unlimited plans may suffice. But if you're going for content-rich pages or a sleek online store, opt for higher-tier plans like the Business Basic or Business Unlimited plans.

If you're still unsure about which plan is best, try any Wix premium plan for free, and if you decide it's not for you, you can cancel within 14 days and receive a full refund.

Wix Pricing 2024: How Much Does a Wix Website Really Cost?

Wix is a top-tier website builder that prides itself on its slick user experience and excellent value packages. Wix made a big change to its pricing model in July 2023, doing away with some of its options in favor of a more streamlined offering of only four paid plans. Fortunately, the website builder still has a free plan , as well as a 14-day free trial for paid plans.

If you’re interested in using Wix in 2024, we're here to help dissect Wix's pricing plans, fees, upfront costs and hidden charges, as well as looking at how much websites cost with other builders.

  • Wix Pricing: Our Verdict

Wix has a total of four pricing plans ranging from $16 per month to $159 per month, depending on the plan that you choose.

If you're interested in building a standard website, the Light plan is a great place to start at $16 per month — but if you're interested in building an ecommerce platform, you'll need to go with the Core plan from $29 per month , which unlocks the ecommerce features you need to build an online store.

Our recommendations:

  • If you want to test the features, or create a website for personal use only   – Free plan
  • If you want to create a resume website, portfolio, or blog – Light plan ($16 per month)
  • If you want to create an online store for the first time – Core  plan ($29 per month)
  • If you want to expand your existing offline and ecommerce sales   – Business plan ($36 per month)
  • If you need advanced reporting, ecommerce, and marketing features – Business Elite plan ($159 per month)

Wix Pricing: What You Should Know

Wix's pricing structure is fairly typical for a website builder, but here are some factors to note before you commit to a plan.

Annual pricing

All Wix pricing is displayed annually — which is a little sneaky if you're not ready to go all in right away — but, in comparison to other website builders out there, it is good value for money. All premium plans come with a 14-day free trial, if you do change your mind.

Wix's contracts are not the easiest to get out of — we found there were quite a few clauses to keep in mind, so if you're interested in trying a Wix package for free, you're better off signing up for Wix's free plan , initially. This is a great way to see how Wix's website builder works in practice. It's pretty easy to upgrade and switch over to a premium platform of your choosing.

With annual billing, all of Wix's premium plans include a year's free domain hosting — giving you full control over your branding.

What's included with Wix?

Wix offers four paid plans , as well as an Enterprise plan tailored to meet large businesses’ specific needs with no publicly available pricing.

Wix’s Light, Core, Business, and Business Elite plans all include 24/7 customer support, SEO, storage, hosting and your own dedicated domain. With Wix’s premium plans you can take advantage of its extensive feature-rich catalog, intuitive drag-and-drop editor and a choice over 800 customizable templates, ad-free. You'll also have access to Wix ADI which uses artificial intelligence to help you build a basic, tailor-made website for you needs.

According to our extensive research, Wix continues to be the best website builder available. Between the extensive feature list, the reasonable prices, and the great templates, you'll be able to get a well-designed, functional website live easily and effectively. Plus, it offers advanced business features like CRM, making Wix an incredible value on top of a powerful website building platform.

Don't miss out - Wix offers regular deals and discounts

business plan wix.com

Wix pricing is fairly straightforward with four plans — Light, Core, Business, and Business Elite . Below, we'll go through what features you get with each of these plans, as well as the pros and cons of each to give you a better idea of what they offer.

Wix Light plan

  • $16 per month, 2 staff accounts
  • Best for beginners and users building simple portfolios and personal sites.

The Light plan is the first Wix plan that we would advise people to use. You'll get a regular URL, or the ability to connect your site to a domain and URL that you already own. Plus, you'll get full access to Wix’s excellent roster of website building tools. This means you'll be able to take advantage of its powerful drag-and-drop editor, excellent website templates, and range of third-party extensions.

The Light plan gives you 2GB storage, plus you’ll also be able to upload up to 30 minutes of HD video to stream and promote your business online and use the platform's new AI text generator.

You could run a brilliant website with the Light plan, but if you need ecommerce features, you'll have to upgrade, which is common for website builders at this stage. The Squarespace Personal plan is also $16 per month and similarly does not offer ecommerce functionality.

Learn about some other user-friendly website builders in our guide to the best website builders for beginners .

  • Free domain for 1 year
  • 30 min of video storage
  • 24/7 support
  • No ecommerce functionality
  • No professional logo maker

Wix's Light plan is a good choice for newer businesses building their first professional website

Wix Core plan

  • $29 per month, 5 staff accounts
  • Users looking to grow their business and make an occasional sale

With the Core plan your website's storage will be increased to 50GB, giving you more room for videos, photos, and audio. Wix will also allow you to upload up to five hours' worth of video content.

Wix will also give you one-year free access to its Site Booster app. The Site Booster app will give you the tools and tips you need to improve your site's SEO, allowing it to appear closer to the top of Google rankings.

The Core plan is a bit of a bump in price over the Light plan, but it unlocks basic ecommerce functionality, allowing you to launch a simple online store to sell up to 50,000 products, which is more than worth it. Be warned, though, our researchers found the ecommerce platform to be a bit overwhelming with all the features and options, but there's luckily a lot of guidance tips along the way that can guide you through the process, even as a beginner. If you want better ecommerce features like advanced shipping, though, you'll have to upgrade.

Squarespace, on the other hand allows for fully integrated ecommerce with its plans, although with its $23 per month Business plan, there is a 3% transaction fee. Even GoDaddy, one of the cheapest options in our reserach, has ecommerce functionality exclusively in its $21 per month Commerce plan, so either way, you're going to be paying a premium to sell products online.

  • 50GB storage for more videos and images
  • One year access to Wix's site booster
  • Basic ecommerce features
  • No advanced shipping
  • No automated sales tax

Wix's Core plan is the best place to start for business and professional websites that need an online store

Wix Business plan

  • $36 per month, 10 staff accounts
  • Best for established businesses that take regular sales

The Business plan really starts to unlock functionality for businesses trying to get a fully functional site up and running. You'll get 100GB for storage and a more robust set of analytics and ecommerce features, like advanced shipping and product reviews.

Even better, if you're hoping to sell your products internationally, our research found that the Business plan unlocks multiple currencies — five of them, to be specific — so you can really branch out and get your online store running across the world.

The Wix Business plan is a tad more expensive than Squarespace's comparable plan at $36 per month versus $29 per month, but it does offer abandoned cart recovery, which Squarespace does not.

  • Advanced analytics
  • 100GB storage
  • 10 video hours
  • Up to 5 additional currencies
  • No customized reports
  • No loyalty program

Wix's Business plan is the best place for robust businesses that plan to grow their ecommerce business

Wix Business Elite plan

  • $159 per month, 15 staff accounts
  • Best for very large businesses with extensive site needs

The Business Elite plan is Wix's most expensive offering, providing users with unlimited storage and unlimited video hours. What's more, this plan unlocks a suite of advanced features for ecommerce, marketing, and analytics, so you can really dig in and take advantage of the full suite of Wix functionality.

Perhaps one of the most important parts of the Wix Business Elite plan is that you'll get priority support response. This means that in the event something goes wrong with your website, you'll be able to get much faster phone support. This could be essential if you're running a big, successful business.

This plan is admittedly a big jump in price, particularly compared to competitors (Squarespace's most expensive plan is only $49 per month). Still, our research found that this plan from Wix is a true unlimited plan, with unlimited storage, video hours, automated sales tax, product reviews, and dropshipping, so it might be worth it depending on your needs.

  • Priority customer care
  • Unlimited storage and video hours
  • Advanced marketing and ecommerce features
  • Far more expensive than other plans
  • Still limits staff accounts

Wix's Business Elite plan is the perfect package for well-established businesses

Yes, Wix does offer a free forever plan, as well as a 14-day free trial allowing you to test out the premium features before you buy. Here's an in-depth look at both free options from Wix.

Wix free plan

Wix's free plan is a great way to get started with the website builder before you make a financial commitment. It allows you to design your website with a wide range of features, as well as get the site live on the internet for your customers to see.

However, there are some substantial limitations on the free plan, as you can imagine. For starters, you'll be inundated with Wix ads on your page, which won't exactly look professionals to potential visitors. On top of that, you won't have a custom domain, which means your site will be virtually invisible when it comes to SEO.

All that to say, the Wix free plan is a good jumping off point, but if you really want your site to get noticed, you'll likely want to upgrade to a premium plan.

Wix free trial

With Wix's 14-day free trial , you'll get access to any Wix premium plan you choose. You'll be able to build and publish your own website, with all the features you'd find in the premium plan of your choosing. However, you won't be able to actually accept any payment and will need to upgrade at the end of your trial if you don't want to risk losing your website.

While Wix's free trial is good way to test the platform before you buy, but it doesn't provide enough features to build a professional website.

Wix product catagory feature

Wix helped me keep products organized with comprehensive categories. Source: wix.com

In 2023, Wix pricing changed dramatically, reflecting a more comprehensive selection of options, reducing your choices from eight plans — four standard website plans and four ecommerce plans — to only four.

As we outlined in the overview above, Wix now simply has four paid pricing plans (as well as an Enterprise plan with no publicly available pricing) that cater to the majority of website builder needs. The Light plan is now the only plan that does not offer any ecommerce functionality, with the Core, Business, and Business Elite all allowing you to build an online store, with more features for a higher cost.

For users, this just means that you don't have to navigate between standard and ecommerce-enabled website builders when looking for a Wix plan. They've trimmed down the options, providing you with a clearer picture of what you're signing up for, so you won't accidentally set yourself up with a plan that doesn't let you set up an online store.

Does Wix Have Hidden Costs?

Wix pricing follows quite a clear structure, but there are some costs that you should be aware of before taking the plunge. For example, when you upgrade to a Wix premium plan, you'll get a free domain but only for the first year. To qualify, it'll also have to be your first Wix purchase. Once your free year is up, you won't have the opportunity to renew, and will have to start paying for your domain, which will cost you $14.95 per year . Our research suggests having your own domain is definitely worth it in the long run though, as it'll help search engines find your pages, will include custom email addresses and give your website a professional finish.

Another thing to watch out for is that all of Wix's plans are set to auto-renew, so it's important to know what you're signing up before you take the plunge. You can, however, cancel the auto-renewing subscription if you switch it off in your settings on your Wix dashboard — and you won't lose access to your account, or your site.

While Wix's extensive app store can help add a lot of useful extra functionality to your site, some apps will require some extra outlay before you can use them. For example, while you won't have to pay to add an Instagram feed to your site, some accounting apps will only offer short-term trial periods. Premium apps typically cost less than $10 per month , but some can run up to $20 per month .

If the app is going to help you make money, it will probably be worth paying the extra cost. But if it's offering an otherwise free service, we'd probably avoid it.

Don't like the sound of these costly add-ons? Read our guide to the best Wix alternatives to discover other great website builders.

How to Get Wix for Cheaper – Deals and Discounts

Wix is definitely one of the more affordable website builders out there, but that doesn't mean you aren't looking for a little savings to keep costs down. After all, small businesses are always in need of some financial help, and getting the best deal can keep you in the fight a bit longer.

Be sure to use the discount code “ TAKE10 ” at checkout, which will get you 10% off most plans . You can get started with Wix for free here now, then use this discount code when you upgrade to a premium plan.

Cost of Wix Email Accounts

Wix provides access to Google Workspace when you sign up for a premium plan. It'll cost you an extra $6 per month and it will give your business an extra air of professionalism and it's super easy to get started. It might be cheaper to try and find an alternative solution by going through a custom domain hosting provider, or directly through Google.

Here's what you have to do:

  • Connect a domain to your website
  • Click on purchase mailbox
  • Pick how many mailboxes you want
  • Choose a subscription and complete your purchase.

While that all sounds delightfully simple, as always, there are some things to bear in mind.

Wix offers its premium email accounts through Gmail. If you like using Gmail, great. If you don't, it might be worth looking around to see if there's an alternative. However, this does mean that you get access to the whole of Google Workspace – including Google Drive, Docs, Calendar, and Hangouts – which might make it the perfect package for your office.

Since our last update...

“This is the first step to completely automating business management with AI, and opens the door for users to have a unique and personalized experience to set up a business even better and stronger than before.” – Guy Sopher, Head of AI Assistant at Wix

As a website builder, Wix is the best option for the majority of businesses. While it isn't the cheapest, it's an easy to use, feature-heavy powerhouse with top tier customer support available across many channels.

The only real competition in our research is Squarespace, which offers a better user experience, a higher customer satisfaction score, and is our best-rated website builder for beginners. Squarespace doesn't beat Wix's website features however, scoring 4/5 compared to Wix's 4.6/5 , so it may not be the best option for experienced builders with complex demands.

Wix has fallen a tad recently in the value for money category, due to rising prices across the industry and a few added features in that time. Still, it's hard to add to a feature catalog that was already bursting at the seams to begin with. And given its ability to up its help & support score by offering more channels to reach out, Wix remains at the top of our list for the best website builder for small businesses.

See how the solution compares to other website builders in our table below, and follow our step-by-step guide to build a website with Wix .

We take our impartial research and analysis seriously, so you can have complete confidence that we're giving you the clearest, most useful product recommendations.

After conducting an initial exploration to identify the most relevant, popular, and established tools in the market, we put them through their paces with hands-on testing to see their real strengths and weaknesses. In this case, we put ten website builder products to the test across 251 areas of investigation.

Based on years of market and user needs research, we've established a website builder testing methodology that scores each product in six main categories of investigation and 33 subcategories ; this covers everything from customer feedback to design, ease of use, and more.

Our main testing categories for website builders are:

  • Website Features: the capabilities and functionalities offered by a website builder, e.g. blog functionality, SEO capability, and marketing capacity.
  • Design: the aesthetic appeal and visual layout of a website created using a website builder. It encompasses aspects such as page templates and customizable themes.
  • Customer Score: external customer opinion. This is the feedback and ratings given by customers who have used a particular website builder – the market position and reputation a website builder holds.
  • Ease of Use: how user-friendly and intuitive a website builder is for people with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Value for Money: the balance between the cost of a website builder and the benefits it provides. It considers factors such as pricing plans, subscription models, and available features.
  • Help and Support: the assistance and resources available to users when they encounter issues or need guidance while using a website builder.

When it comes to calculating a product's final score, not all testing areas are weighted evenly, as we know some aspects matter more to our readers than others, which are simply "nice to have." After hundreds of hours, our process is complete, and the results should ensure you can find the best solution for your needs.

At Tech.co, we have a number of full-time in-house researchers, who re-run this testing process regularly, to ensure our results remain reflective of the present day.

Verdict: Is Wix Pricing Good Value?

The best part about Wix is that it doesn't matter what kind of business you run either. Whether you need Wix for ecommerce or just to launch a blog, the builder scores high on value across the board. Plus, you'll get access to advanced business features like CRM, which makes Wix an undeniably good-value product.

Plan to Stash Pollution Beneath the Sea Could Save Money and Jobs

The Italian energy giant Eni sees future profits from collecting carbon dioxide and pumping it into natural gas fields that have been exhausted.

Stanley Reed, who writes on energy and the environment, visited Milan and Ravenna to report this story.

  • April 4, 2024

Renowned for ancient churches and the tomb of Dante, the 14th-century poet, the city of Ravenna and its environs along Italy’s Adriatic coast are also home to old-line industries like steel and fertilizer. The manufacturing plants are of little interest to the many tourists who help sustain the area’s economy, but these sites employ tens of thousands of people.

The question is: For how long? The factories, like others in Europe, face increasing pressure from regulators to reduce the climate-altering gases that their operations produce. The worry is that rising costs from regulation will force them to close.

“We are very scared about the future of our industries,” said Michele De Pascale, the mayor of Ravenna. “We have to reach this goal to reduce CO2 emissions, but we want to do it without destroying our industries,” he said.

Italy’s energy giant, Eni, which has a large presence in Ravenna, is pushing a plan that the mayor says could help preserve the region’s heavy industries: create an industrial pollution collector.

The company is proposing to construct a network of pipelines to sweep up the carbon dioxide from the sites and store it away in old natural gas reservoirs. It sees this process, known as carbon capture and storage , as a promising new business line that would aid its shift to cleaner activities.

Michele De Pascale, standing in a suit, smiles for an outdoor portrait.

Eni is working on similar plans elsewhere in Europe, notably in Britain, where many mature oil and gas fields offer large volumes of storage potential. There are other carbon capture projects around the world, including in the United States, often aimed at reducing emissions from oil and natural gas production.

The company wants to diversify away from the oil and gas sales that have long been its mainstay, but it faces an uncertain future because of climate change concerns. Eni executives calculate they will have an edge because they can make use of the company’s existing infrastructure like wells and pipelines and redeploy employees.

“It is very easy to reskill or shift people,” said Claudio Descalzi, Eni’s chief executive.

Mr. Descalzi plans to turn carbon capture into a “satellite” company that could attract other investors seeking profits that he forecasts could be about 10 percent a year.

The transition to cleaner energy will succeed only if it spawns sustainable businesses, Mr. Descalzi said. “Otherwise, it will fail,” he added. “Because resources are limited and you can’t burn money.”

Eni has about 50 operating petroleum platforms in the Adriatic Sea off Ravenna, beyond lagoons dotted with flamingos. With production falling, Eni plans to pump carbon dioxide into the depleted gas reservoirs, which will act as giant sponges for the waste gas.

The company is spending about 100 million euros on modifications designed to remove about half the carbon dioxide emanating from a gas processing plant in nearby Casalborsetti. Work is largely complete, and Eni plans to begin sending the carbon dioxide through a new well into a gas field about 12 miles offshore and 10,000 feet below the seabed soon.

If this first phase goes smoothly, Eni will move to a much larger plan, initially costing as much as €1.5 billion, that will hook up factories and other large polluters in Italy and perhaps even France, to eventually draw as much as 16 million tons of carbon dioxide a year for burial.

Just as oil experts use powerful computers to crunch data into three-dimensional images to figure out how to efficiently extract gas from the ground, they are now using similar techniques to model how to safely inject carbon dioxide into porous rock.

Launching carbon capture projects, though, is proving a grind — an indication of how challenging the energy transition may be as countries shift from some of the easier areas to clean up, like electric power, to more difficult sectors like cement and steel.

Carbon capture needs to account for 8 percent of cumulative emissions reductions if the world is to achieve net zero by 2050, according to the International Energy Agency, an intergovernmental organization. Yet to be on track, the volume of stored carbon dioxide needs to jump twentyfold by 2030, to one billion tons a year — “a very ambitious undertaking” said Carl Greenfield, an analyst at the agency.

Polluters are struggling to evaluate whether it is worthwhile spending tens or even hundreds of millions to retrofit their plants. “They don’t have even the expertise to understand which is the best technology,” said Guido Brusco, Eni’s chief operating officer of natural resources.

business plan wix.com

But pressure from customers and taxes on carbon are pushing businesses to look seriously at carbon capture projects. Some analysts forecast that the European Union’s carbon tax will soar well above €100 a metric ton in future years, making proposals like Eni’s, which Mr. Brusco says will cost less than €80 a metric ton on average, an easier sell.

Andrea Ramonda, chief executive of Herambiente, which burns municipal waste to produce energy, is weighing the pros and cons. He figures that building what he calls a “washing machine of gases” at the plant could mean roughly doubling the €110 per metric ton that it now costs customers to to burn their garbage.

“We have to be very prudent” when managing the money of citizens, he said.

High costs and other obstacles mean that these proposals tend to require government backing, at least in the early stages.

“At the end of the day, you have to have some sort of government support,” said Bassam Fattouh, director of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, a research organization. “Otherwise, many of these projects will not be realized.”

The British government has for years backed work by Eni, including a plan to clean up emissions around Liverpool and Manchester in northwest England. As part of the project, known as HyNet North West, Eni would build and manage a 40-mile pipeline for collecting carbon dioxide from factories and other polluters in the area and pump the gas into wells beneath Liverpool Bay. Eni says it has reached a preliminary agreement with the British government to receive a guaranteed profit.

“We’re backing this industry with £20 billion,” Martin Callanan, Britain’s minister for energy efficiency and green finance, said in an emailed statement.

Negotiations with the Italian government are less advanced, although Eni executives hope Italy will copy Britain’s approach. Vannia Gava, Italy’s deputy energy minister, recently visited the Ravenna project and said afterward, “This is an enormous opportunity for Italy.”

Eni and other operators of carbon capture systems are targeting large emitters like cement and fertilizer plants that analysts say lack options to clean up their operations.

Heidelberg Materials, for instance, operates a large cement plant at Padeswood in Wales that it wants to tie into the Hynet pipeline. Simon Willis, chief executive of the company’s British business, said about 60 percent of the plant’s substantial emissions came from a chemical reaction in the cement-making process.

“There is nothing we can do about that other than collect it and store it,” he said.

Even some environmental groups are inclined to give carbon capture at least a lukewarm pass as long as it is not a means of prolonging the use of fossil fuels.

“If CO2 release to the atmosphere is otherwise inevitable from an industrial installation, then it is better to capture it,” said Doug Parr, chief scientist of Greenpeace UK.

A Delta passenger is calling on the airline to change its policies after she says she was escorted off a flight for not wearing a bra

  • Lisa Archbold says she was escorted off a Delta Air Lines flight for not wearing a bra.
  • She said a gate agent told her it was "offensive" and "revealing."
  • Gloria Allred, her attorney, is calling for a meeting with Delta to discuss a change in policy.

Insider Today

A Delta Air Lines passenger who says she was escorted off a flight for not wearing a bra is calling on the carrier to change its policy.

Lisa Archbold was due to fly from Salt Lake City to San Francisco when airline staff, she said, took issue with her clothing — a loose white T-shirt.

The incident was in January and received some media attention, but Archbold now has legal representation. Her attorney is Gloria Allred , who has been involved in several high-profile women's rights cases — including representing women who accused Donald Trump and R. Kelly of sexual misconduct.

Related stories

In a recent letter to the airline's president, Allred said Archbold wasn't questioned when she boarded the plane but was later escorted off the flight by a Delta gate agent.

Archbold said the employee told her that her outfit was "offensive" and "revealing." She was allowed to reboard the plane after putting on a button-up shirt she had tied around her waist.

"I was targeted and humiliated," Archbold said in a statement . "It felt like a scarlet letter was being attached to me."

She added: "I wore the same clothing any man might wear. I also have a chest smaller than many men on that flight. Where does Delta draw the line?"

In her letter, Allred questioned how wearing a T-shirt without a bra aligned with Delta's policy that removal could be necessary if a person's clothing caused "an unreasonable risk of offense or annoyance."

She requested a meeting with Delta's president, Glen Hauenstein, to discuss a practical solution.

A Delta Air Lines spokesperson told Business Insider that the airline had contacted the customer with an apology.

This isn't the first time a woman has been taken off a flight after somebody took issue with her clothing. In 2019, an American Airlines passenger was told to wrap a blanket around her.

Watch: While Delta's business is 'extremely robust,' the airline's marketing chief stays focused on the data
