For all teaching positions, we usually require at least 3 years of UK curriculum experience. Candidates must have the UK recognised teaching qualification and as part of our Safer recruitment policy, we require an enhanced  DBS (CRB) check  and an  ICPC check .

For national positions, we require qualification and experience based on the nature of the job. All candidates must have obtained a degree in a relevant field from a renowned University/Institute. As part of the safer recruitment process, we require the most recent  Police Clearance Form

Induction Programme at TBS

During induction, we support new colleagues in moving to Nepal and transitioning to our culture at TBS. For all new staff members, the induction process starts prior to arrival and continues to support colleagues throughout their first year here. Our induction team provides all the necessary information and arrangements for moving to Nepal: finding accommodation; setting up a school email account; booking flights and organising freight. Professional and personal buddies are assigned to answer questions about working at TBS and living in Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we have a week-long programme dedicated to settling in and acclimatising. During the second week, there is a whole-school INSET programme where all staff will engage in professional development sessions and prepare for the year ahead.

Continuous Professional Development Plan

The process of developing teaching skills, deepening knowledge of subjects taught and coming to a broader understanding of educational issues is an ongoing one. As a professionally restless and thinking school, we support colleagues in looking for ways to improve the quality, depth and range of student learning and experience. Initially an attitude of constant self-evaluation, appraisal systems, regular whole school, section and other meetings, discussion with colleagues and reading of subject-related and educational books and articles play a vital part in the development of every teacher.  Secondly, in-service training, through the department and the staff plays a crucial role in every member of staff’s development. External CPD for TBS staff in the form of courses attended outside school, falls into three main categories:

• CPD provided by fellow FOBISIA schools, affording the opportunity for the giving and sharing of ideas with colleagues from schools sharing the same philosophy as TBS OR CPD provided within the FOBISIA group for like-minded schools such as the Job Alike Workshops (JAWs).
• CPD from Examination Boards or accreditation bodies, informing staff of changes to the syllabus, reviews of past examinations, testing changes etc.
• CPD provided by external agencies or private companies.

We deliver an internationally accredited curriculum to approximately 220 students who come from around 20 different countries.
