Environment

  • Environmental Health Perspectives This journal is published with the support of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Focus on experimental toxicology, epidemiology, exposure science, and risk assessment. Articles are published on a continuous basis.
  • Park Science* "A journal of the U.S. National Park Service. It reports the implications of recent and ongoing natural and social science and related cultural research for park planning, management, and policy. Translates scientific findings into usable knowledge for park planning and management practices for natural resources and visitor enjoyment."
  • Emerging Infectious Diseases This journal from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention hosts discussion and research on diseases "whose incidence in humans has increased in the past 2 decades or threatens to increase in the near future." Beliefs expressed in this journal are not official standpoints of the CDC, Department of Health, or any other government organization.
  • Journal of Special Operations Medicine The official publication of the Special Operations Medical Association (SOMA) with a focus on "pre-hospital, tactical, wilderness, austere, disaster and deployed medicine." This publication is no longer an official government publication.
  • Preventing Chronic Disease "Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD) is a peer-reviewed public health journal sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and authored by experts worldwide...with a mission to promote dialogue worldwide on the integration and application of research findings and practical experience to improve population health."
  • Public Health Reports "The official journal of the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General and the U.S. Public Health Service. Focuses upon such topics as tobacco control, teenage violence, occupational disease and injury, immunization, drug policy, lead screening, health disparities, and many other key and emerging public health issues.” Publishes six regular issues and 2-5 special topics issues per year.
  • U.S. Army Medical Department Journal "Provides a forum for the presentation and exchange of the most current, high level healthcare, clinical, and medical research information, as well as medically related combat experiences and military doctrine development ideas and proposals."

  • Air & Space Power Journal "The US Air Force’s (USAF) professional peer-reviewed journal and the leading forum for airpower thought and dialogue. ASPJ seeks to foster intellectual discussion and debate among air, space, and cyber power leaders, both domestically and internationally."
  • Journal of Research of the National Institute of Standards and Technology "The flagship publication of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The Journal of Research of NIST publishes peer-reviewed research articles, in addition to dataset and software articles, tutorials, and tech transfer briefs."
  • Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) Journal* "A law enforcement training magazine produced and published by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC). With a mission to explore and disseminate information about law enforcement concepts, research initiatives, programs, and trends that impact or will potentially affect law enforcement training."
  • Marine Corps University Journal* "MCU Journal offers a forum for open dialogue between scholars, policy makers, analysts, and military leaders and of crossing civilian-military boundaries to advance knowledge and solve problems."
  • Naval War College Review* "Published under the auspices of the U.S. Naval War College and the Department of the Navy, but exercising editorial independence; the thoughts and opinions expressed in the publication are those of the authors and not necessarily those of the department or the U.S. Naval War College. It serves as a forum for discussion of public policy matters of interest to the maritime services."
  • Parameters: Journal of the U.S. Army War College "Provides a forum for mature thought on the art and science of land warfare, joint and combined matters, national and international security affairs, military strategy, military leadership and management, military history, ethics, and other topics of significant and current interest to the US Army and the Department of Defense."
