Collagen type VI modified by hypoxia-induced PLOD2 is secreted by sarcoma cells and binds to integrin β1 on endothelial cells to induce barrier dysfunction, which promotes sarcoma vascular dissemination and metastasis.
Osteosarcoma Cells Secrete CXCL14 That Activates Integrin α11β1 on Fibroblasts to Form a Lung Metastatic Niche
Cooperation between stem-like osteosarcoma cells and fibroblasts mediated by a CXCL14-integrin α11β1 axis creates a tumor-supportive lung metastatic niche and represents a therapeutic target to suppress osteosarcoma metastasis.
Cytidine Deaminase Resolves Replicative Stress and Protects Pancreatic Cancer from DNA-Targeting Drugs
Cytidine deaminase reduces replication stress and regulates DNA replication to confer resistance to DNA-damaging drugs in pancreatic cancer, unveiling a molecular vulnerability that could enhance treatment response.
Human Tumor–Associated Macrophages and Neutrophils Regulate Antitumor Antibody Efficacy through Lethal and Sublethal Trogocytosis
The elucidation of the conditions and mechanisms by which human FcR + myeloid effectors mediate cancer cell resistance and killing during antibody treatment could help develop improved strategies for treating solid tumors.
Immunometabolic Adaptation of CD19-Targeted CAR T Cells in the Central Nervous System Microenvironment of Patients Promotes Memory Development
The spatiotemporal immunometabolic landscape of CD19-targeted CAR T cells from patients reveals metabolic adaptations in specific microenvironments that can be exploited to maximize the therapeutic efficacy of CAR T cells.
PRMT1 Sustains De Novo Fatty Acid Synthesis by Methylating PHGDH to Drive Chemoresistance in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
PRMT1 promotes chemoresitance in TNBC by methylating metabolic enzymes PFKFB3, PKM2, and PHGDH to augment de novo fatty acid synthesis, indicating that targeting this axis is a potential treatment strategy.
The Imipridone ONC213 Targets α-Ketoglutarate Dehydrogenase to Induce Mitochondrial Stress and Suppress Oxidative Phosphorylation in Acute Myeloid Leukemia
In AML cells, ONC213 suppresses αKGDH, which induces a unique mitochondrial stress response, and reduces MCL1 to decrease oxidative phosphorylation and elicit potent antileukemia activity.
Lactate Utilization Enables Metabolic Escape to Confer Resistance to BET Inhibition in Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Lactate utilization allows AML myeloblasts to maintain metabolic integrity and circumvent antileukemic therapy, which supports testing of lactate utilization inhibitors in clinical settings to overcome BET inhibitor resistance in AML.
The Extracellular Niche and Tumor Microenvironment Enhance KRAS Inhibitor Efficacy in Pancreatic Cancer
Pharmacologic inhibition of KRAS elicits varied responses in pancreatic cancer 2D cell lines, 3D organoid cultures, and xenografts, underscoring the importance of mechanotransduction and the tumor microenvironment in regulating therapeutic responses.
Cyclic Fasting–Mimicking Diet Plus Bortezomib and Rituximab Is an Effective Treatment for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells resist fasting-mimicking diet by inducing proteasome activation to escape starvation, which can be targeted using proteasome inhibition by bortezomib treatment to impede leukemia progression and prolong survival.
Subclonal Cancer Driver Mutations Are Prevalent in the Unresected Peritumoral Edema of Adult Diffuse Gliomas
True2 is a next-generation sequencing workflow that facilitates unbiased discovery of somatic mutations across the full range of variant allele frequencies, which could help identify residual disease vulnerabilities for targeted adjuvant therapies.

Research in health, education and social sciences cannot rely on the same measurement precision as that in the natural sciences, because it is based on reports and recordings of what people think, say or do. This generates issues of comparability and validity that are exacerbated by the need to adapt studies to different contexts and target populations.
