ਤਾਜ ਮਹਿਲ ਆਗਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ । ਆਗਰਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਇਮਾਰਤਾਂ ਹਨ । ਪਰ ਤਾਜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਇਕ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ‘ਮੁਗਲ ਯੁੱਗ’ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਅਜੂਬਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਹੈਰਾਨੀਜਨਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਵੱਖੋ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਚੰਦਰਮਾ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਵੇਖੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਤਾਜ ਮਹਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੋ ਸਮੇਂ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਆਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ।

ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਤਾਜ ਮਹਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਇਸ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਮਨਮੋਹਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ । ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਦੂਰੋਂ-ਦੂਰੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਵਿਚ ਕਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸ਼ਹਿਨਸ਼ਾਹ ਸ਼ਾਹਜਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਮੁਮਤਾਜ਼ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਜ ਮਹਿਲ ਉਸਾਰਿਆ। ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਉਸਦੀ ਕਬਰ ਇਥੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਸੀ । ਇਹ ਯਮੁਨਾ ਦੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ‘ਤੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ।

ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੇ ਲਾਲ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ ‘ਤੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ । ਤਾਜ ਮਹਿਲ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਸੰਗਮਰਮਰ ਦਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿਚ ਸਤਾਰਾਂ ਸਾਲ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ।

ਤਾਜ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਝਰਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਤਲਾਬ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਜ ਦਾ ਪਰਛਾਵਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਤਾਜ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਚਾਰ ਟਾਵਰ ਹਨ । ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਹਰੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਸਥਾਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਰੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਾਂਗ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਹਜਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਮਤਾਜ਼ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਬਰਾਂ ਹਨ ।

ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਯਾਤਰੀ ਦੀ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਤਾਜ ਮਹਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਦਾ । ਤਾਜ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੈ ।

Aitihasik Sthan di Yatra -  Taj Mahal

ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਾ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਲੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫਿਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਅਸਲੀ ਚੀਜਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਦੇ ।

ਪਿੱਛੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦਸੰਬਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਬੰਦ ਹੋਣਾ ਸੀ। ਸਾਡੇ fਪੰਸੀਪਲ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਆਗਰਾ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਮ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੋੜੀਦੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੁਲ ਜਮਾ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ । ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰ ਠੀਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਪੁੱਜ ਗਏ ਤੇ ਗੱਡੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੇ ਪੁੱਜ ਗਏ । ਖਾਣਾ ਖਾਧਾ ਤੇ ਕਪੜੇ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਬੱਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਗਰਾ ਦਾ ਲਾਲ ਕਿਲਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ । ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਦਿਨੇ-ਦਿਨੇ ਕਿਲਾ ਦੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਏ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਨਣੀ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਸੀ । ਕਿਲਾ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ । ਉਹ ਕਿਲਾ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਸੀ । ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਮੁਗਲ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਦੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਗਾਹੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੀਵਾਨੇ ਆਮ, ਦੀਵਾਨੇ ਖਾਸ ਤੇ ਜਹਾਂਗੀਰੀ ਮਹੱਲ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਦੇਖਣ ਯੋਗ ਹਨ।

ਕਿਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਕੇ ਕੁਝ ਦੇਰ ਆਰਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫਿਰ ਖਾਣਾ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਬੱਸ ਰਾਹੀ ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ । ਅਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ । ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣ ਦੀ ਤੀਬਰ ਇੱਛਾ ਸੀ । ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਮੁਗਲ ਸਮਰਾਟ ਸ਼ਾਹਜਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਮੁਮਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ : ਵਿਚ ਜਮਨਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ ਸੀ । ਸੰਗਮਰਮਰ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਮਕਬਰਾ ਦੰਪਤੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਧਾਂਜ਼ਲੀ ਹੈ। ਕਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਗਮਰਮਰ ਵਿਚ , ਸਾਕਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੁਪਨਾ’ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤਾਜ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸ਼ੀਰਾਜ ਨਿਵਾਜੀ ਉਸਤਾਦ ਈਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ । ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਘੜ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸ਼ਰੀਫ ਵੀ ਸੀ। ਇਹ 22 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ । ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਿਆ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ । ਸਭ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਬੱਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਉਤਰ ਕੇ ਤਾਜ ਵੱਲ ਵਧੇ । ਰਾਤ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਦੁੱਧ ਵਰਗੀ ਚਾਨਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਜ ਚਮਕਾਂ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਹਰ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਸੀ । ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਲਾਲ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੇ ਬਣੇ ਉੱਚੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਗਏ ! ਇਸ ਤੇ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਆਇਤਾਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸੀ ਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਲਕ ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਦੇਖਣ ਆਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ । ਚਹੁੰ ਪਾਸੇ ਇਕ ਬਾਗ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਮਖਮਲੀ ਘਾਹਵਿਛਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ । ਇਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਇਕ ਨਹਿਰੂ ਲੰਘਦੀ ਹੈ। ਨਹਿਰਾ ਵਿਚ ਫੁਹਾਰੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਦੋਹੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਸੰਗਮਰਮਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਦਰ' ਰਸਤੇ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਨਹਿਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੋਹੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਤਿੱਖੇ ਨੱਕਦਾਰ ਸਰੂ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਹਨ।

ਲਾਲ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਜ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ । ਅੰਦਰ ਮੀਨਾਕਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਜਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਏ ਤੇ ਮੁਗਲ ਕਾਲ ਦੀ ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਦੀ ਦਾਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ । ਅੰਦਰ ਡਾਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਸ਼ਰੀਫ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਇਤਾਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ ।

ਗੁੰਬਦ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਲੀਦਾਰ ਸੰਗਮਰਮਰ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਜੰਗਲਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੁਮਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਸ਼ਾਹਜਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਬਰ ਹਨ। ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਬਰ ਬੇਗਮ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਉੱਚ ਹੈ। ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਉਤਰ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਤਹਿਖਾਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ। ਉਥੇ ਕਾਫੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ , ਸੀ । ਅਸੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਥੇ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੇਲ ਬੂਟੇ ਤੇ ਮੀਨਾਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਿਆਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਧ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇਹ ਹੁਣੇ ਹੀ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਥੇ ਆਉਣਾ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਪਰ ਰਾਤ ਕਾਫੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ । ਇਸ ਲਈ ਬੱਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੇ ਆ ਗਏ । ਦੂਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਅਸੀਂ ਮੁਗਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਵਨ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਨਮੂਨੇ ਦੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਫਤਿਹਪੁਰ ਸੀਕਰੀ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ । ਉੱਥੇ ਕਈ ਭਵਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਲਈ ਚਾਲੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।

ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ 

ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਜਹਾਨ ਦੀ ਬੇਗਮ ਮੁਮਤਾਜ਼ ਮਹੱਲ ਦਾ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮਕਬਰਾ ਹੈ। ਮੁਮਤਾਜ਼ 7 ਜੂਨ, 1637 ਈ: ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਸੌਂ ਗਈ। ਮੁਗਲ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਬੇਗਮ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਆਗਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਦਰਿਆ ਜਮਨਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ 42 ਏਕੜ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਕਬਰਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ । ਇਹ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਤ ਅਜੂਬਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਗਿਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ 21 ਖੁਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਣੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਹਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਣ ਨਾਲ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਪੱਕੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਲਗਭਗ 360 ਵਰੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਟੱਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੱਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ। ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਹੁੰ ਨੁੱਕਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਚ ਮੁਨਾਰੇ ਹਨ। ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਲਈ 20 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਚਿੱਤਰਕਾਰ 20 ਸਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ; ਮਣਾਂ-ਮੂੰਹੀਂ ਚਿੱਟਾ ਤੇ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗਮਰਮਰ ਦਰੋਂ-ਨੇੜਿਓ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।

ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ

ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਦੁਆਰ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ: ਅੰਦਰ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਲਦਾਰ ਬੂਟਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰਿਆ ਬਾਗ਼ ਵੀ ਘੱਟ ਮਨ-ਮੋਹਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਬਾਗ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਨਹਿਰ ਵਗਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਰੰਗਬਰੰਗੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਲਪਟਾਂ ਛੱਡਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬਾਗ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੁਝ ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਚੜ ਕੇ ਮਕਬਰਾ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਥੇ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਾ ਚਬੂਤਰਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਸੰਗਮਰਮਰ ਦਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਚਬੂਤਰੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਹਣਾ ਗੁੰਬਦ ਹੈ।

ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਬਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਡਾਟਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੇਲਾਂ-ਬੂਟਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮੀਨਾਕਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਚਿੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਪਈ ਹੈ।

ਮੁੱਖ ਦੁਆਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮਕਬਰੇ ਤੱਕ ਇੱਕ ਸੌ ਪੰਜਾਹ ਗਜ਼ ਦੀ ਵਿੱਥ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਸੰਦਰ ਛੁਹਾਰੇ ਹਨ। ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਰੂ ਦੇ ਉੱਚੇ-ਉੱਚੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਸਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਸੰਗਮਰਮਰ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੌਜ਼ ਹੈ।

ਚਾਨਣੀ ਰਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਦਾ ਜਮਨਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਬਿੰਬ ਵੇਖਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਸੈਲਾਨੀ ਪੂਰਨਮਾਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਹੁਣ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਣ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਬੰਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ॥

ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਾਜ ਮਹੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਹੁਸਨ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਛਲਾਵਾ ਜਾਪਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਲਪਨਾ  ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਸ ਅਦਭੁੱਤ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਗਾਰੀ ਫਸੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰਾਂ-ਕਾਰੀਗਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੋ-ਰੋ ਕੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਉਹ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਹਨ :

The renowned Taj Mahal was brought to life by the vision of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan . He got this monument built for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal after she passed away.

To honor the memory of his loving wife, Shah Jahan ordered the finest artisans from all over the world to build it. He wanted to make something that had never been done before for anyone. The emperor wished to give the last gift to his wife whom he loved very much.

The Taj Mahal represents the enduring love of Shah Jahan, who erected it in honour of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The monument is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It serves as the famous Empress Mumtaz Mahal's mausoleum.

About Taj Mahal

The world-famous Taj Mahal was created because of the vision of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. After she passed away, he built this monument in honour of his devoted wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

In honour of his beloved wife, Shah Jahan hired the best artisans worldwide to build it. He was going to make something that had never been done before. The emperor desired to give his beloved wife one last present. People still praise Shah Jahan for his fantastic deed. It encourages you to value and cherish love in new ways. My Experience with Taj Mahal

On the day of the full moon in October of this year, I went to the Taj Mahal with a few of my schoolmates. The silvery moonlight glistening everywhere and glamorising the Taj brings out the best in its splendour. Greenery and flowerbeds nicely adorn the area around it. I was ecstatic to visit the Taj. Hundreds of men, women, and kids gathered to admire the Taj's magnificence. There were sizable groups of foreigners arriving. We also clicked many pictures in front of the monument.

A Symbol of Love

The Taj Mahal was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983 and is regarded as one of the most exquisite structural compositions in the entire world. After Mumtaz Mahal passed away, Shah Jahan erected the Taj Mahal in her honour and as a memorial. According to legend, Shah Jahan gave his wife the Taj Mahal as a gift. It is regarded as a representation of love and the tie between a husband and wife. It's interesting to note that the Taj Mahal is thought to represent Mumtaz's various emotions because it appears pinkish in the morning, milky white in the evening, and golden when the moon is out.

When Shah Jahan's wife was alive, he made her four vows. These commitments include constructing the Taj, getting remarried, going to the grave on each anniversary of his passing, and being kind to his kids. After two years, he decided to erect a memorial in her honour. Therefore, he decided to create a unique monument that had never been built before. With the help of 20,000 workers, he made the Taj Mahal—turning his vision into reality. The Taj Mahal's construction took 22 years to complete. Additionally, it was said that Shah Jahan had all 20,000 labourers' hands amputated to prevent them from ever again constructing monuments of this nature.

My Visit to Taj Mahal

A trip to a historical site is always a thrilling adventure. It is an exciting journey. During my recent summer vacation, when I visited Agra, I had one such encounter. I took the train to get to Agra with my family. After a short period of recovery, we started our sight seeing tour. Agra has a rich history. In India, numerous stunning historical sites are worth visiting. The most spectacular of all, though, is the Taj Mahal in Agra. First, we went to the Taj Mahal. The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan erected the Taj Mahal 350 years ago as a tribute to his beloved queen Mumtaj. It is situated along the Yamuna River's bank.

On all sides, it appeared white and identical. Green glass tufts and hot Cyprus tree shoots enhanced its majestic majesty. We descended the stairs and under the dome, in a dim room, we discovered the king and queen's graves. The side walls were ornamented with bits of glass in various colours and Quranic couplets. Each of the four minarets at the major buildings served as a watchman.

We finished our tour of the Taj Mahal at about noon and left the area. My journey to the Taj Mahal was a lot of fun. It was a unique event that, in addition to being intellectually stimulating, provided us with a taste of our nation's great heritage.

Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of his honourable and beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, after she passed away. It is said that Shah Jahan gifted the Taj Mahal to his wife. After two years, he decided to make a monument to honour the memory of his wife. So, he decided to build an exceptional monument that had never been constructed before. He turned it into a reality by making the Taj Mahal with the effort of 20,000 workers. It took 22 years to complete the construction of the Taj Mahal. It was also suspected that Shah Jahan cut the hands of all the 20,000 workers so that they would never build this type of monument again.

What Makes the Taj Mahal So Special?

The Taj Mahal is termed “the jewel of Muslim art in India”. The architecture of the Taj Mahal has five different main elements. The main gateway of the Taj Mahal is a curved shape and looks beautiful. There comes a beautiful garden after entering through the main gate. The garden has a long pool of water. The garden has beautiful beds of flowers and green trees. The Masjid is located on the left side of the Taj, which is built using red sandstones. The rest house is located on the right side of the Taj; it is named Saqqara Khaana. The Taj Mahal is constructed using 28 different types of precious stones and varieties of marble. It has been structured by combining various architectural styles like Indian, Persian, Islamic and Turkish. The white marbles used in the construction of the Taj Mahal are very expensive, and the architecture is decorated with ornamental gem materials.

The Taj Mahal at Agra is one of the wonders of the world. There are many historical monuments in the world as well as in India but the Taj Mahal is unique in them. It is a matchless building. Lakhs of people from India and abroad visit the Taj every year. They don’t tire while commending its beauty. It is majestic in its beauty; such a beauty can be conceived only in a dream. However, the Taj is a reality, but a dreamy reality, so captivating is its beauty.

The Taj Mahal was caused to be built by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan in the memory of his beloved queen Mumtaj Mahal. The Taj has become symbolic of intense love these days.

I along with my several schoolmates visited the Taj Mahal on the full moon day in October this year. The beauty of the Taj is at its peak under the silvery moonlight spreading all over the place and glamorizing the Taj. Its surroundings are well-decorated with greenery and flower beds. We felt overjoyed to see the Taj. Hundreds of men, women, and children had collected there to enjoy the beauty of the Taj. There were large groups of foreigners clicking their cameras. We also posed for photographs.

The Taj is a wonderful dream come true in marble. Its architectural design is superb. It has four minerals on four corners with an onion-shaped dome in the center. Couplets from Koran are engraved beautifully on its walls which is again a wonder of calligraphy. Flowery designs are inset with precious coloured stones. Above all, it is made up of spotless white marble. We went down the staircase and visited the graves of the emperor and the empress who lie side by side in their graves over there. Nobody is allowed to go there with shoes on; however, canvas shoes were provided to us by the men on duty outside.

The vision cast a magic spell on me and my friends after seeing it under the full moon that day. We felt that it was a sight fit to be seen by the gods so much inviting the ‘fa; appeared to us that time. The green tufts of grass and the green shoots of the Cyprus trees adorned its majestic beauty appeared to add to its majestic beauty many times more.

I took objection to a friend’s remarks when he asked what beauty it had but for its marble-made heavy structure. He also stated that many Hindu temples in Rajasthan and South India were far more beautiful than The Taj Mahal. I agreed with him that the Rajputana temples were quite beautiful and also the temples in south India but tried to convince him that so far as the Taj was concerned it had its own unique design and its execution to which he also nodded. Of course, the Taj is supremely beautiful. We felt rewarded after seeing it.

Taj Mahal is one of the wonders of the world. It is a very beautiful monument. It is the tomb of Mumtaz  Mahal, the Chief Queen of Emperor Shahjahan. It was built by the emperor in memory of his beloved queen.

Taj is built on the bank of the Yamuna river at Agra. It is made of white marble. It is a work of art. When the sun shines on the white marble, the Taj shines like silver.

Last month, my uncle paid us a visit and we went to Agra to see the Taj. We went in our uncle’s car.

Like Delhi, Agra is also a historical city. Besides Taj, there are more historical buildings like the Old Fort, Sikri, and Itmadulah. But Taj is the most beautiful building.

There is a big garden in front of the Taj with a canal made of white marble. There are flowers on both sides of the path. We went down and saw the tombs of Mumtaz and Shahjahan. We did not climb up to watch the river which flows quietly by its side.

The place was full of tourists from all corners of the world. They come to see the Taj. Some come to see the Taj on the full moon night. We spent quite a long time at the Taj.

Next, we went to see the fort and tried to peep at the Taj through a window. There are many shops near the gate selling beautiful things.

We had a nice time at Taj and came back to Delhi by car. I think every Indian should go to Agra to see the Taj. I hope to go there again.

A Visit to the Taj

Taj, the eighth wonder of the world, the ever-living creation of man stands on the bank of the Yamuna River near Agra. It is a symbol of the love of a king Shahjahan for his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal.

We had a group visiting for this memorable monument by the Mughal emperor. The visit was organised by the History professor, who organised the tour for a spot study. We were more than thirty students. We travelled from Delhi to Agra by bus. The journey started early morning and we started at 9.00 a.m and we were there by 12.30. We fixed up our luggage in the student hostel and proceeded towards the destination. Taj, the greatest and the finish carved piece of the Mughal period was there for our objective tour.

We entered through the main gates after crossing a long queue. We were moving on the red-tiled passages of the building. Taj is surrounded by water sprayers Garden and then another encircled arena. It has four minars in white marble and then a tomb in the center. All walls of the building are engraved in colours and lustrous stones. The marble virtually changes colours when the light falls on it. Some guides state that the building was a piece of architecture by Shuraji, the Persian architect. It is further said that he too was thereafter losing his beloved and had a cherished desire to make such a memorable building.

Millions of tourists come to see the unique piece from far-off places. This is a rare depiction which has the graves of Begum and family in the depth of it. Shahjahan was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb in Red Fort in the last part of his reign. He used to see the Taj through a glass piece in a hole in the wall. Shahjahan lost his three sons Dara, Shuja, and Murad at the hands of Aurangzeb in the struggle to capture the seat of the Mughal kingdom.

Taj has lost its glamour when most of the pearls fixed in walls were removed by the next rulers in the country. Although a considerable amount is provided for maintenance and upkeep, even then the environmental pollution is badly affecting the building. The colour of the marble is changing briskly and a noticeable deterioration is appearing. Taj has the craziest attraction on a moon-lit night. It has a very beautiful shining effect in the moonlight.

Visitors are always keen to take photographs of the building. Many Indian visitors try to create some nuisance on the historical buildings. This should be avoided. Taj is a monument for which India can be proud of. Let us keep this precious place neat and clean so that visitors carry a good opinion about it.

With a feeling of contentment, we folded our materials and packed for our return journey. Taj, the great spot of History, was telling in our minds.
