Special Research List

Special Research Lines come in two main flavors: Unlimited and Limited. Unlimited lines unlock at specific points in the game, and  are available to complete at the player's leisure. Limited lines have specific requirements to unlock such as playing during a specific time period, and may or may not have a time-limit.

Unlimited Special Research

Research System Breakdown

Research Tasks are divided into four categories:

  • Field Research - Single-objective goals such as spinning PokeStops and catching Pokemon that reward items and one "stamp" (1 per day). These are the tasks outlined above.
  • Special Research - Story based multi-objective goals such as catching and transferring Pokemon that have unknown rewards
  • Paid Research  - Similar to Special Research, but a ticket must be purchased in order to actually enjoy these Research lines. These are frequently tied to events or seasons.
  • Research Breakthrough - Rewards based on collecting stamps that reward Stardust, items, and a Pokemon encounter.

Task Mechanics

A trainer can hold up to 3 tasks at a time, 4 including an AR task. Also, trainers can trash a task if they do not want to try to complete it.

Trainers receive tasks from spinning PokeStops, and each Pokestop gives the same task to all trainers during the day. If the reward is an encounter, all trainers receive the same species (though IVs will differ). If you get a task on Monday from a stop and don’t clear it until Tuesday, you will not be able to get a task from that same PokeStop on Tuesday as once you receive a task, you will not receive another one from that PokeStop. However, if you delete a task, you can go back to that stop later in the day to get it again.

Various events frequently have their own unique set of tasks with event-themed rewards. Community Days in particular bend the Research rule a bit, as the research assigned to each Stop for the day changes to Community Day-themed research for the duration of the event, and revert back to normal after the event. Note that completing research from a given stop at any point during a given day will cause it to remain claimed for the rest of said day regardless of event-themed task changes.

Tasks give a variety of rewards, often based on the challenge you had to complete. Rewards can be encounters, Stardust, or items such as balls, potions, revives, TMs, and Rare Candy. Generally, more difficult tasks will have higher rewards.

Encounters from tasks are level 15 Pokemon with IVs of at least 10 in all 3 stats. After clearing an encounter task, you will be taken to the encounter. The Pokemon will not be weather boosted regardless of the in-game weather. You can run from the encounter and come back to it in the future.

Once you clear an encounter task, you can immediately collect a new task. Interestingly enough, you can save a large number of encounters! Some trainers do this and choose to catch them during a Lucky Egg or Star Piece session.

Each day when you complete your first task, you receive a Research Stamp. When you have 7 stamps, you will receive a Research Breakthrough.

Research Breakthrough rewards change each season.

General Tips

Special research tasks do not give a daily stamp - only field research does Minimum level for Special Research is level 5 Pokemon encounters appear to be at level Many players have a “refill loop” or “grind loop” of stops and gyms in their PoGo lives, often one they hit multiple times each day.. If you have the option, add a second loop. Having multiple loops will greatly increase the number of tasks seen Try to keep one open task so you can always pick a new one up when you visit a Pokestop for the first time in a day. Find a network of players to report tasks, perhaps through your raid chat of choice. You won’t be able to check every stop, so if people call out TM, Rare Candy or Chansey quests it can really help. Some communities have focused on calling out Charmander encounter quests. This is a great way to farm high IV Pokemon before a community day. Some encounters have very large hit-boxes. Save these for when you are working on a 3 excellent or 3 great throw in a row quest. Try not to hold more than 1 long term quest. Remember there is an opportunity cost to holding 3 “Catch a Ditto for 3 Rare Candy” tasks. Obviously the payoff is awesome, but in the meantime you are missing out on so many other potential rewards from other tasks you cannot get. Don’t miss a day of Research Progress. If you don’t think you can play much tomorrow, leave one task unclaimed today. Tomorrow you can wake up, claim the task, and make progress towards your Research Breakthrough. Consider weather, biome, and active events when deciding whether to keep or delete a task. You likely aren’t going to quickly complete the “3 Pidgey or Murkrow” task on a sunny day during a rock event, but you should blow through “catch 5 Pokemon with Weather Boost” on a cloudy day during a fighting event. If you don’t throw excellents well, it’s not the end of the world to toss a task requiring an excellent throw. Holding on to tasks without substantial rewards for a long period of time is a big mistake. In general, take your playstyle into account when deciding to keep or delete a task. Do you battle gyms constantly? Then the Minium task isn’t bad as you will quickly turn it over. Did you already use your raid pass for the day? Then don’t hold on to that “Defeat a level 3 raid for some potions” type tasks. Free to play? Then the hatch 3 eggs” quest is probably an easy one to delete. Have a task that you know you cannot complete quickly at a stop near your house? Well trash that task while you grind. Then as you return home you can grab it later in the day. That way you can cycle through more tasks without it clogging your inventory. Remember that reward encounters and the Research Breakthrough reward have a 0% flee rate. Use pinaps liberally! Keep track of local nests. “Catch 3 Bugs” is much easier when you know there is a Caterpie nest a couple blocks away.

Research tasks are a game mechanic that offers rewards for Trainers who complete various task objectives. [1] Many of these tasks focus on skill and execution rather than depending on random chance.

Research page [ ]

Research page is accessible from the Map View . Its icon is aligned above the Nearby tab in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Research page is divided into three tabs:

  • Field tab which includes Field Research tasks and Research Breakthrough stamp progress,
  • Special tab which includes ongoing Special Research campaigns and list of completed ones
  • and Today View tab which includes Timed Research campaigns, bonuses for current events , daily PokéCoins and Daily Bonuses progress.

Initially, the Research Breakthrough stamp progress section was present at the top of the Research page and the tabs with Field and Special research were below it, thus the Breakthrough progress was displayed regardless of which kind of research tasks were viewed at the moment. It was misguiding and got changed with later updates — Breakthrough section was moved to the Field tab.

Research tasks and rewards [ ]

There are plenty kinds of Research tasks that work slightly different.

Field Research [ ]

Field Research are tasks that can be gathered by spinning Photo Discs of PokéStops ( Gyms do not give tasks). Each PokéStop can only give one task per day. Each PokéStop changes the tasks at 00:00 AM local time per day. Once the Trainer has completed that PokéStop's task for the day, a small icon is displayed in the top right corner of the PokéStop's Photo Disc view.

Field Research tasks have objectives that include catching certain Pokémon , performing basic actions in the game or battling in Gyms or Raid Battles . These tasks are directed as more casual so players can complete them in 15 to 30 minutes. [2]

While Special Research tasks have specific rewards for each task and each set of tasks, for Field Research there seems to be variety of different rewards for each task completed. The more difficult the task, the greater the reward. Trainer can have up to three Field Research tasks at a time, but they can be also cancelled at any time, so other tasks can be gathered (trainer can obtain the deleted one from the same PokéStop during the same day). There is no limit to the number of research tasks that can be completed each day. [1] It is possible to obtain multiples of the same task from different PokéStops during the same day; in this case, a single action will count towards progress for both of them.

Beginning in 2019, there has been a Limited Research event. During the event, PokéStops will assign tasks to Trainers and reward them with a featured Pokémon. The Pokémon that is rewarded will have a chance to be shiny .

Example Field and Bonus Research tasks

Bonus Research [ ]

Daily, the Trainer receives a bonus Field Research task automatically. The tab is made light green in color to be recognized. A fourth slot will be opened for the bonus task if the three Field Research tabs are filled. However, if all four Field Research slots are filled, Trainer won't receive the bonus task. [3]

This feature was introduced on April 30 th , 2020. The research was the same for all Trainers on the first day, but then it can vary.

Special Research [ ]

Special Research are campaigns split into parts with sets of unique tasks requested by Professor Willow himself. Each Special Research task can be completed only once per player and for each set of Special Research tasks there are unique special rewards. [1]

Example of Special Research tasks set

Timed Research [ ]

Partner Research

Partner Research

Since May 2020, there is an additional kind of Research campaigns called Timed Research that works very similar to Special Research campaigns however its accessibility is limited for a specific period of time after which Timed Research is gone and no longer accessible regardless of the Trainer's progress on it. Unlike Special Research campaigns these kind of Research sets can be viewed in Today View tab instead of Special Research tab. Since Season of Alola , a ticketed Timed Research called Partner Research was implemented. The tickets could be acquired with partners.

Example of Timed Research tasks set

Daily Research [ ]

Today View PokéCoins

Daily Research

Daily Research is a feature that allows Trainer to obtain few more PokéCoins for completing whole set of Daily Research tasks. It is currently tested in several countries, including: Australia, Germany, New Zealand and Taiwan.

PokeCoin

Following tasks were reported to appear in Daily Research:

  • Catch a Pokémon.
  • Transfer a Pokémon.
  • Evolve a Pokémon.
  • Power up a Pokémon.
  • Use a Berry to help catch a Pokémon.
  • Make a Nice Throw.
  • Make a Great Throw.
  • Make an Excellent Throw.
  • Win a Raid.
  • Defeat Team GO Rocket grunt.

Stamps and Research Breakthrough [ ]

Research Breakthrough

Research Breakthrough

Trainers can earn one Stamp per-day by claiming the reward from a Field Research task. Once seven stamps have been obtained, a Research Breakthrough can be achieved. [1]

The stamp is earned upon claiming the task's reward, not when the task is completed, so if you complete two tasks in a day, you can opt to save one to get another stamp for tomorrow by not claiming one of them. For Pokémon appearance rewards, tapping claim reward will give you the stamp, not when you actually catch them.

These breakthroughs offer rewards such as randomly given items and a chance to encounter a Pokémon .

It is currently unknown what is the purpose of Special Research stamps that are present in the game files, as only Field Research stamps can be currently obtained by players.

Official annoucement

  • Few mentions about this game feature was found in the game code few times before it was finally implemented and released, by the name ' quests '.
  • The research feature launched on March 30 th , 2018. [4]
  • According to game creators , research tasks are designed to be exciting and promote exploration with skillful challenges so that encountering Pokémon should never feel like a chore. [2]
  • Hence, the weather icon is now placed above the compass icon.
  • The same Field Research task can be obtained from one, particular PokéStop during the day, so more than one player can have the same task with the same reward simultaneously, and if discarded it will only give the same task during that day.
  • Now as tabs has been moved to the top of the page, the Research Breakthrough progress graphic with stamps is visible only in the Field Research tasks tab and not any more above Special Research tasks.
  • Pokémon encounters from Field Research are considered to be caught at the location of the PokéStop the task is obtained.
  • Unlike the Field Research tasks, there is no possibility to cancel nor skip any of Special Research tasks in order to complete the set of tasks.
  • More than one set of Special Research tasks can be completed within a day.
  • Special Researches related with Trading , sending Gifts and making Friends are pre-completed for Trainers under age of 13, since these don't have access to such game features .
  • A yellow "EVENT" tag has been added to event-exclusive Field Research tasks since Lunar New Year 2021 .
  • Field Research rewarding Mega Energy has added the icon of Pokémon since August 12 th , 2021. [5]

[Updated] Pokemon Go 'Make a new friend' research task progression bugged or not working, issue acknowledged

Anurag Chawake

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on June 30, 2022) follows:

Developed and published by Niantic, the company that brought us the likes of Ingress, Pokemon Go is an Augmented Reality based game released in 2016.

According to data from Sensor Tower, the game has already generated more than $6 billion in lifetime revenue .

Pokemon-Go

One of the major reasons why Pokemon Go is so successful is because the developers constantly work on bringing in new content.

But sometimes these updates cause issues like the Incense and Lure bug where Pokemon’s were disappearing quickly and Shadow Pokemon missing shadows .

That said, recent reports from Pokemon Go players suggest the ‘Make a new friend’ research task progression is bugged or not working ( 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ).

Many say they tried adding several new friends, unfriending them and re-adding but nothing seems to help fix the problem.

Pokemon-Go-Make-a-new-friend-research-task-progression-bugged

I’m trying to finish Misunderstood Mischief questline (I stopped playing halfway through it) and I’m on the quest that says make a new friend. So far I’ve added 10 new friends and it still is unfinished. I’ve restarted the game, my phone, I’ve unfriended and re-added people. I’ve changed my buddy, thinking maybe it’s that. I don’t know what to do. How do I finish that quest? Thanks ( Source )
I’m currently on jump-start research 6/6, where I have a task to find a new friend. Since getting this task, I have added about 4 friends but the task hasn’t been completed. I contacted support and got past the useless automated responses and it said to put details in the chat and a human will come resolve the issue. 12 hours later, I just get another automated response saying: “we know about this issue. Is that all?” (In more professional terms). ( Source )

Thankfully, Pokemon Go developers Niantic seem to be aware of the fact that the ‘Make a new friend’ research task progression is bugged and said they are investigating the issue. But there is no ETA on when it will be fixed.

“Add {#} friends” task may not complete even after adding the required number friends. Issue description: After adding friends to complete tasks such as “add 3 friends” to complete a Special Research task, the task is not marked as complete and Trainers are unable to progress in their Special Research. Issue Status: Investigating ( Source )

We hope they soon find out the root cause of the problem and fix it in a future release so players can complete the task. As always, we will be letting you know once the fix is available so stay tuned.

In the meantime, make sure you check out our Pokemon Go bugs and issues tracker to see similar issues affecting players.

Update 1 (July 4, 2022)

12:19 pm (IST): A Redditor said that they have reached out to support regarding this issue and they have manually completed the quest for them.

Update 2 (July 5, 2022)

02:17 pm (IST): In the recent response to a gamer regarding ‘Make a new friend’ task issue, Niantic support has confirmed that they are still investigating it. Also, they haven’t provided any ETA for the fix.

Hey there, Meldoy! Sorry for the trouble you’re experiencing with the task “Make 3 new friends”. We’re investigating reports associated with this task, and we hope to have a fix soon. ( Source )

Update 3 (July 8, 2022)

05:59 pm (IST): Niantic support has confirmed that the issue with ‘Make a new friend’ task will be resolved in the upcoming 243 release. However, they did not provide any ETA for the same.

Sorry for the trouble, Trainer! The issue with the task “Make a new friend” not progressing even after adding a friend should be resolved in the upcoming 243 release. ( Source )

Update 4 (March 2, 2023)

03:42 pm (IST): Some players are again reporting that ‘Make a new friend’ research task progression is not working for them.

Fortunately, Niantic support said that they are aware of this problem and asked those affected to share their nickname and the associated email ID via DM.

Hello Trainer! Sorry to hear that you’re unable to progress through the Special Research tasks “Make a new friend” and ‘Battle in a Mega Raid’. Please share your Trainer Nickname and associated email address via DM. We will look into it for you! ( Source )

What is Research in Pokémon GO?

Research is a feature in Pokémon GO that gives Trainers the opportunity to help Professor Willow with his Pokémon Research. Completing a Research Task will unlock rewards. The more challenging a task, the greater the reward will be.

There are two types of Research you can contribute to: Field Research and Special Research .

What is Field Research ?

Field Research tasks are assigned/collected by spinning PokéStops. Trainers can only receive and complete one task from each PokéStop each day. Tasks are the same for all trainers on a given day so you can share PokéStop locations for a desirable task with others in your community.

The task will consist of an objective and a reward for completing it. Rewards range from Items to Pokémon encounters. If the task awards items, it will disclose what item and quantity on the task itself. If it’s an encounter, it won’t. Instead you can refer to the handy graphic on this page.

The first Field Research task you complete for a day will reward you with a Stamp towards unlocking a Research Breakthrough .

How do I unlock a Research Breakthrough ?

You can unlock a Research Breakthrough by collect 7 Stamps. Again, Stamps are obtained from your first completed Field Research task for the day. Unlike the ‘First PokéStop of the Day’ or ‘First Catch of the Day’ streaks, you do not need to collect Stamps on consecutive days. You won’t ever lose stamps you earned because you missed a day.

Upon reaching 7 Stamps, you can open the box and earn a handful of helpful Rewards. Rewards will consist of a Pokémon encounter, XP, Stardust and will include one of the following items: Rare Candy, Pinap Berries, Ultra Balls, or Poké Balls.

What is Special Research ?

Special Research is like Field Research but they can be thought of as part of the game’s Story. Like Field Research they consist of tasks that you work through to earn Rewards. However in Special Research completing a set of task will earn you additional rewards. Completing all sets of tasks in the series will earn you a more valuable reward. eg. A Mythical Pokémon encounter.

While, Trainers cannot repeat Special Research tasks, Professor Willow will occasionally seek assistance with new tasks. Special Research can also be assigned at Special Events like GO Fest in Chicago or during in-game Events like Pokémon GO Halloween 2018.

What are the CP numbers next to the Pokémon in the graphic?

That is the range of possible CPs that your Pokémon encounter could be. The highest is Perfect IVs and the lowest is not so perfect IVs.

What is the Sparkle next to some Pokémon in the graphic?

The sparkle indicates that there is a chance of encountering that Pokémon in their Shiny form. The chance of encountering a Shiny from a Field Research task is 1 in 450. However they could possibly be higher for certain encounters (eg. Absol).

Pokémon Go Rediscover Kanto quest steps, rewards and research tasks

Kanto is again being featured in Pokémon Go!

Rediscover Kanto is an event showing off the new visuals in Pokémon Go by taking us back to where the franchise started, back in 1996. That's right, we're focusing on Kanto.

During this Pokémon Go event, you can see the hideous new refreshed avatars, explore the new biomes and rediscover the Pokémon that made the world fall in love. There's a string of bonuses, too, from Field Research and Special Research to increased odds of finding a shiny starter Pokémon!

On this page:

  • Rediscover Kanto Special Research quest steps and rewards

Rediscover Kanto Special Research quest steps and rewards in Pokémon Go

Rediscover Kanto is a Special Research quest line that you can pick up by logging into Pokémon Go between Monday April 22 2024 at 10:00am and Thursday May 9 2024 at 8:00pm PDT .

The best thing about this being a Special Research task is that once you have it, you can take as long as you want to finish the task! However, since you need to catch a lot of Kantonian Pokémon, and there's a lot of them about right now, it might be worth trying to finish the quest line before the event ends.

Below you'll find all of the Rediscover Kanto quest steps and rewards in Pokémon Go. Remember to keep an eye out for spoilers .

The World of Wonders season has come to Pokémon Go, which has brought Rediscover Kanto and Sustainability Week , along with the World of Wonders quest. Don't forget to try out Routes , Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon , fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases .

Rediscover Kanto Field Research tasks in Pokémon Go

By spinning PokéStops during the Rediscover Kanto event in Pokémon Go, you'll be able to pick up event-exclusive Field Research tasks. As always, you can only hold three tasks at a time.

Fortunately (or unfortunately), it's slim pickings this time around, meaning it will be very easy to pick up the same task to complete at the same time. We recommend doing this if you want to maximise your efficiency in the game!

Here are the Rediscover Kanto Field Research tasks in Pokémon Go:

  • Power Up Pokémon 5 Times - 25 Venusaur Mega Energy
  • Power Up Pokémon 5 Times - 25 Charizard Mega Energy
  • Power Up Pokémon 5 Times - 25 Blastoise Mega Energy

Everything you need to know about Rediscover Kanto in Pokémon Go

If you haven't been able to guess from the title, Rediscover Kanto invites you into the game to rediscover all the fun times you had with the Gen 1 Pokémon in Kanto. Rather than trying to recapture players who stopped playing because of the botched feature launches, the buggy and broken PVP or the travesty that was the culling of Remote Raids, this is purely a chance to take a look at the reskinned avatars and environments!

Thanks, we hate it .

Putting the anaemic avatars in the bin to one side, the Rediscover Kanto event comes with a batch of other bonuses that you may want to be aware of. Firstly, this is the perfect opportunity to pick up some Legacy Moves for your Pokémon!

  • Evolve Ivysaur to get a Venusaur that knows the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant .
  • Evolve Charmeleon to get a Charizard that knows the Charged Attack Blast Burn .
  • Evolve Wartortle to get a Blastoise that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon .

All of these are PVP-relevant moves, so if you fancy trying your hand at Go Battle League, make sure you pick these up!

But wait, there's more! During the event, you can also make the most of the following bonuses:

  • Increased XP for a seven-day PokéStop spin streak
  • Increased XP for a seven-day Pokémon catch streak
  • Faster Friendship levelling up when interacting with in-game friends
  • Increased Shiny odds for Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle

Good luck and enjoy the Rediscover Kanto event!

Pokémon Go has a new Special Research Task set, titled “ Let’s Go ,” which is the same name as the event that brought it to the game (confusing!).

The research is free, and you have until June 1 to claim it . Once you log in and begin, it’ll stick around forever, so there’s no rush in completing it.

The rewards are completely free, and sees the debut of the Master Ball . Thankfully, tasks are easy enough to complete, so it’s worth completing as you play your usual amount of Pokémon Go . In other words — no specific need to grind!

Below, we’ve listed out the steps to the “Let’s Go” Special Research, which was concluded on May 22, 2023 , with the introduction of steps four to six.

Let’s Go step 1 of 6

  • Catch 10 Pokémon (5 Poké Balls)
  • Make 10 curveball throws (5 Razz Berries)
  • Power up Pokémon 5 times (1,000 Stardust)

Rewards : 1,500 XP, Mankey encounter

Let’s Go step 2 of 6

  • Catch 15 Pokémon (10 Poké Balls)
  • Make 10 great throws (5 Pinap Berries)
  • Transfer 20 Pokémon (5 Great Balls)

Rewards : 2,000 XP, Meditite encounter

Let’s Go step 3 of 6

  • Power up Pokémon 10 times (10 Great Balls)
  • Make 7 great throws (1 Lure Module)
  • Defeat a Team Go Rocket grunt (3 Revives)

Rewards : 2,500 XP, Machoke encounter

Let’s Go step 4 of 6

  • Catch a Pokémon (500 XP)

Rewards : 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust

Let’s Go step 5 of 6

  • Catch 25 Pokémon (2,500 Stardust)
  • Defeat 3 Team Go Rocket grunts (3 Hyper Potions)
  • Make 5 excellent throws (Galarian Farfetch’d encounter)
  • Evolve 5 Pokémon (2,500 Stardust)
  • Battle in a gym 3 times (5 Revives)

Rewards: Master Ball , 1,000 Stardust, 1000 XP

  • Claim reward (10 Ultra Balls)
  • Claim reward (2 Pinap Berries)
  • Claim reward (1 Star Piece)

Rewards: 3,000 Stardust, 3,000 XP

Remember, you have until the end of the season (up until 10 a.m. local time on June 1) to start the above quest. And with a Master Ball up for grabs, you won’t want to miss it!

Pokemon GO Rediscover Kanto - All Field & Special Research Tasks & Rewards

From Kantonian starter encounters to other exciting rewards, the Pokemon GO Rediscover Kanto Special & Field Research has plenty to offer.

Quick Links

All field research tasks & rewards, all special research tasks & rewards.

Niantic is organising the Rediscover Kanto event in Pokemon GO , featuring a plethora of exciting Pokemon from the classic Pokedex. This comes along with the controversial series of updates that Niantic released in Pokemon GO in April 2024.

While Pokemon GO 's avatar update didn't go as planned , the biome update seems to have added a number of bells and whistles to the game. With some new backdrops and more logical spawn patterns, the biome update has definitely sparked curiosity among the fanbase. The best way to get well acquainted with the biomes is by taking part in the Rediscover Kanto event that features some biome-specific spawns . Apart from that, there are some Field and Special Research tasks as well — here is how players can complete them.

Pokemon GO: Sustainability Week: All Shiny Boosted Pokemon & How To Get Them

The Field Research tasks are significantly easier than the Special Research ones, and it shouldn't take players long to complete them. Players can power up Pokemon by getting Stardust and candy , which in turn can be acquired by the Special Research Tasks if they are short of them.

The Rediscover Kanto Special Research starts off with a few easy tasks, but towards the end things become a bit tedious. The best way to complete the special research is by exploring as much as possible during the event, using items like Incense and Lure Modules to further boost the spawn rates of the Kantonian Pokemon. The good news is that once players acquire the Special Research, it stays, so they will have a lot of time to actually complete it. Getting the Special Research is quite simple, and all players need to do is log into the game during the event .

Pokemon GO: Sustainability Week All Field Research Tasks, Collection Challenges & Rewards

Pokemon GO is back with another interesting event for the month of April, with the return of its unique Sustainability Week for 2024. The event was quite a hit last year with the debut of Bounsweet , and fans will get another chance to catch some exciting Pokemon.

While last year's event packed a punch with debuts and a special research, fans are a bit unhappy with the Sustainablity Week offerings this year . There is neither a Special Research this year, nor any debut as such. Additionally, while players will find a few known faces in the feature Pokemon list, there has been a stark decline in the number of Pokemon that are being featured. That being said, the event still offers a really good chance for players to get their hands on some rare shinies with the boosted rates. Here are all the field research tasks, collection challenges and rewards for the event.

Pokemon GO is Being Review Bombed

All pokemon go sustainability week 2024 field research tasks & rewards.

As part of the event, players will be able to get a number of Pokemon encounters on completing the Field Research tasks. These tasks are quite straightforward for this event, and simply exploring enough during the event should ideally help them complete the challenges .

All Pokemon GO Sustainability Week 2024 Collection Challenges & Rewards

As part of the Collection Challenge for the event, players will get a number of rewards for catching Pokemon. While the base version of the Pokemon can be obtained in the wild or simply via the Field Research it is crucial to note that the evolutions have a requirement for them to count towards the special research. For both Excadrill and Garbodor, finding them in the wild isn't enough as evolving them is a basic requirement for them to count towards the Collection Challenge . Considering that players will be seeing Drilbur and Trubbish more often in Pokemon GO during the event, it shouldn't take them long to get enough candies for the evolution.

Pokémon Go Sustainability Week 2024: all Research Tasks

Check all tasks and rewards Sustainability Week has to offer

  • Author: Marco Wutz

Sustainability Week in Pokémon Go runs from April 22 to April 26, 2024, and is a yearly reminder of the threat to our environment – a theme that’s definitely not out of place in a Pokémon game.

Aside from various bonuses , the event has brand-new Field Research Tasks and a couple of Collection Challenges in store to keep players busy. Still, this can’t quite cover up the fact that Sustainability Week has been downgraded in terms of content year after year – a comparison makes it very difficult not to become disappointed.

Be as it may, here are all Pokémon Go Sustainability Week 2024 tasks and rewards .

Pokémon Go Sustainability Week 2024: Field Research Tasks

Field Research Tasks exclusive to Sustainability Week 2024 will be available from spinning the photo discs at PokéStops during the event, which is ending on April 26, 2024, at 8pm local time. Once you’ve got the missions in your inventory, you can complete them whenever you wish.

Here are all Pokémon Go Sustainability Week 2024 Field Research Tasks :

  • Catch 5 Pokémon : Binacle
  • Catch 10 Pokémon : Foongus
  • Explore 1 km : Trubbish
  • Explore 2 km : Drilbur
  • Hatch an Egg : Combee

Pokémon Go Sustainability Week 2024: Collection Challenges

The Sustainability Week 2024 Collection Challenges need to be completed before the event ends on April 26, 2024, at 8pm local time in order to claim their rewards, so be sure to do so ahead of the deadline.

Here are all Pokémon Go Sustainability Week 2024 Collection Challenges :

Collection Challenge: Drilbur

  • Drilbur (Wild, Field Research)
  • Excadrill (Evolution)
  • Rewards : XP x10,000 and Stardust x5,000

Collection Challenge: Trubbish

  • Trubbish (Wild, Field Research)
  • Garbodor (Evolution)

As you can see, this event doesn’t have all that much to offer when it comes to missions, so you should be able to complete these tasks with ease and enjoy the small rewards they offer.
