Jail Inmates - (Oct. 2019)

No Barriers in Education of Jail Inmates

Apart from affiliated schools, NIOS is presently having Study Centres (AAs, AIs, & AVIs ) in Jails of India also. It was observed that more number of jail inmates wanted to join NIOS courses but because of their poor financial condition, they were unable to do so. Accordingly, it was felt that if NIOS could offer the courses to jail inmates free of cost, it would enable them join NIOS courses for getting themselves educated. Also, if they are provided quality education during their stay in jails, it would certainly help them in earning their livelihood and bringing them into the mainstream of society after they are released from jails.

Eligibility Criteria

Date of admission (academic year 2023-24), fee structure for online admission of stream-1.

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) will not entertain any online Chargeback.

Fee for Dual Enrolment / Part Admission / TOC (Stream -1)

Fee for Streams - 2, 3 and 4

Transfer of Credit (TOC) Fee for all Streams

Change of subject / additional subject for All Streams

Fee payment mode for Online Admission

There will be two options for the payment of fee, supporting documents required.

The learner has to be ready with the Scanned copy/soft copy (jpg, jpeg files) of the given below documents which will be required to be uploaded while registering for the Admission to Secondary and Senior Secondary courses

Passport/Statement of Operational Bank Account/Appointment Letter from the Employer on Printed Letter Head, if living in rented accommodation - copy of any proof of permanent address along with present Rented Agreement

updated in NIOS result. If TOC Board marked with (*Other) is selected then the Result should be available on the Concerned Board Website or Learner has to submit result verification letter from Concerned Board as per NIOS norms

Transfer of Credit (TOC)

Ex-Secondary/Senior Secondary learners of the following Boards of School Education who have passed in at least one subject, but have not qualified in the course, may seek admission in the respective course at NIOS and avail facility of TOC.

A learner should seek Transfer of Credits (TOC) at the time of admission in the subjects which are included in NIOS scheme of studies.

The learners who had applied for Transfer of Credit (TOC) have to send original failed marksheet mentioning the Reference Number on the back of Mark Sheet to the concerned Regional Centre.

Dual Enrollment and Part Admission

Under this provision, if in case a learner is studying in a regular school, or has already passed Secondary/ Senior Secondary examination or any other higher course from any recognised Board/University, he/she may opt for upto four subjects of his/her choice, to update knowledge and educational qualifications. However, on passing, only the Marksheet will be issued and no other Certificate will be issued. The entry requirement for dual enrolment and part admission will be as per NIOS admission rules (Table-3 Entry Requirements).

Instructions for online Admission to Secondary and Sr. Secondary courses in NIOS for the year 2023-24

• 1 After successful submission of Online Application Form for Admission to Stream 1 Block 1, you will get a confirmation on your email address and Mobile Number submitted during registration process.
• 2 You can make the Payment during the registration process or you can also make the payment later by login into Student Panel using the user name and password sent to you in your email.
• 3 After successful payment of the Admission fee, you will be communicated through email with payment receipt. You can also print/download your payment receipt and your Application Form from your dashboard after login.

You are registering for On Demand

On-line admission for learners who want to appear under the on demand examination system (odes) of nios for secondary level (stream-3)or sr. secondary level (stream-4).

Stream for On-line admission is open throughout the year for those learners who have already passed the Secondary Examination from the recognised Board and wish to take part admission in one subject or up to 4 subjects for updating their qualification, or learners who had appeared but could not clear, or who were eligible but could not appear in the Public Examination of the Secondary level from any recognised Board and want to appear through On Demand Examination System of NIOS for the Secondary level only and entry requirement of age, address proof as per table 3. The learners may upload the failed marksheet/Admit Card (Hall Ticket) alongwith relevant/supporting document and photograph on appropriate space available in the Online Admission Form for confirmation of the admission. The learners who had applied for Transfer of Credit (TOC) have to send original failed marksheet mentioning the Reference Number on the back of Mark Sheet to Online Cell, NIOS, Room No. 408, A-24-25, Institutional Area, Sector-62, NOIDA-201309, Uttar Pradesh. The Subjects available for appearing through ODES at Secondary level are Hindi (201), English (202), Sanskrit (209), Mathematics (211), Science & Technology (212), Social Science (213), Economics (214), Business Studies (215), Home Science (216), Psychology (222), Indian Culture & Heritage (223), Painting (225) and Data Entry Operations (229).

Nios 10th, 12th exams 2022 tma submission link has been activated. candidates can check how to upload the tma through these simple steps given below. .

National Institute of Open Schooling has activated the submission link of TMA for NIOS Class 10, 12 Session 2022. The link for downloading or uploading Tutor Mark Assignment has become operational with immediate effect. Candidates can download or upload their TMAs through the official site of students portal of NIOS on sdmis.nios.ac.in. 

As per the <strong>official notice</strong> , for the learners of the current session i.e. Stream (Block 1) of the year 2021, NIOS has given an option to submit the TMAs online or offline at the respective study center. From the next session i.e. Stream 1 of the year 2021, it is mandatory for all the learners to submit/ upload the TMAs online only.

• Visit the official site of Students portal of NIOS on sdmis.nios.ac.in.
• Login to the account.
• Prepare handwritten TMAs for each subject in PDF file.

NIOS Classes 10 and 12 exams 2022: The National Institute of Open Schooling has activated the submission link of TMA for NIOS Class 10 and 12 for the academic session 2022. As per the official notification, the link for downloading Tutor Mark Assignment has been activated with immediate effect. NIOS extends TMA submission date

The last date for the submission of Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs) has been extended by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). Candidates can now submit their NIOS TMA till March 10, 2022, through the official website-- nios.ac.in.

Earlier, the last date of submission was February 15.

“Due to extension of admission in Stream 1 (Block 1) upto 30.11.2021 vide Notification: 64/2021 dated 15th November 2021, the last date for submission of Tutor Marked Assignment (TMAs) by the learners through online (learner dashboard) or offline to the AI (study centre) is further extended upto 10th March 2022 (Thursday) without late fee,” the NIOS said in a statement.

How To Submit NIOS TMA

• Go to the official website-- sdmis.nios.ac.in .
• Login to the account.
• Prepare handwritten TMAs in PDF format for each subject.
• Click on 'download/ upload TMA' link from the student dashboard.
• Click on the subject for which you want to upload TMA.
• Select the medium in which you have prepared TMA to upload.
• To upload the TMA, select the correct PDF and click the submit button.

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has made the provision for downloading/uploading Tutor Mark Assignments (Secondary & Senior Secondary) operational with immediate effect.

Learners of National Institute of Open Schooling may download and upload the Tutor Mark Assignments (TMAs) from the student portal of NIOS -   https://sdmis.nios.ac.in/

Methodical procedure to upload TMA for Class 10th and Class 12th is as follows:

-Visit the student portal - https://sdmis.nios.ac.in/

-Login through your student account

-Click on the link that says download/upload TMA on the student dashboard

-Choose the subject for which you want to upload the TMA

-Upload the handwritten TMAs for each subject in PDF file

-Click on submit to upload the TMA file

As per the  official notice  released on the website by the National Institute of Open Schooling, NIOS learners can download/ upload TMAs from their dashboard as per the schedule of submitting/uploading TMAs.

Learners are also notified that for the current session, which is Stream 1 (Block 1) of year 2021, NIOS has given an option to submit the Tutor Mark Assignments online, through the student dashboard, or offline, by submitting the TMA at the respective study centre of the learner.

However, from the next session i.e. Stream 1 (Block 2) of the year 2021, it will become mandatory for all candidates to submit/upload their Tutor Mark Assignments online only.

The National Institute of Open Schooling is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India and is the largest open schooling system in the world. The minimum age to get admission in the Secondary Course is 14 years and the minimum age to seek admission in the Senior Secondary Course is 15 years.

Where we get NIOS TMA Question Papers?

Nios learners have two option to get nios tutor marked assignment question papers. First 10th & 12th class students can find tma question in his tma book provided by nios board with study materials. Second nios student can download assignment question paper from nos official website in pdf form.

In tma booklet you will find one assignment of each subject. You are required to complete the assignment in your own handwriting in the chosen subjects only. Use one sided lined & one side plain paper to prepare answer script for TMAs and submit them to your teacher at your Study Centre (AI)/Regional Centre.
