“We will beat your hands down!” The boys smirked as they ran onto the football field. The girls glared at them. They would play their best to make sure that the boys did not win the game.

The teacher blew the whistle and the match began. At first, the boys had control of the ball. They dribbled the ball across the field with ease and scored the first goal. They jumped up and gave one another a high five. The girls were determined not to let the boys score another goal. The best player, Melissa, gained control of the ball. Long Essay on A Football Match 500 Words for Kids and Students in English

Matches are an essential part of sports. They give rise to competitive spirit and sportsmanship. Moreover, matches are a kind of get-together where players, apart from playing and displaying their physical stamina, exchange ideas and information and have free and frank discussions among themselves.

Recently, I got the opportunity to witness a football match that was played between Khalsa Higher Secondary School, Qadian and DAV Senior Secondary School, Delhi. The match was played at the playgrounds of SN College. The entire ground was swept clean and the sides decorated. There were chairs on one side and rest of the ground was open for the spectators. Both the teams were in high spirits. They were dressed in their school colours. Both seemed to be equally strong. The spectators were expecting a well-contested and lively game. The ground and its surroundings were jampacked. The match started at 5 p.m. sharp.

Essay on A Football Match

The DAV team won the toss and chose the favourable side. Soon the referee blew the whistle and the match started. They were hopeful of scoring the goal. During the first few minutes, the DAV team dominated. They penetrated into the defences of their rival team but could not score any goal. Anyhow, their splendid performance puzzled the Khalsa Higher Secondary School team and the latter resorted to a rough game. They began kicking the ball at random. But the captain did not lose heart and encouraged his team. So the team was reinvigorated. The Khalsa team soon recovered their lost position and in the heat of the moment they scored a goal. There was thunderous applause when the goal was scored. The whole team was cheered by their supporters. But at the same time, the right half of DAV team was badly injured and the captain had to play the double role throughout the entire game. Soon the referee blew a long whistle and the first half was declared to be over.

Then, the players took some rest and refreshments. There was a loud noise in the playground as the supporters of both the teams rushed to their respective sides in order to cheer them and encourage them.

Again, the referee whistled and the match started. Now, the DAV team tightened their belts and played with determination. The goalkeeper of DAV team also became very alert. In the first few moments, the Khalsa team put pressure on the DAV team; their left half made three hits one after another at the goal of DAV but the goalkeeper of DAV team showed his extraordinary skill by kicking the ball back. At the end moment the DAV side took the ball to their rival side and within no time, their left half gave a pass to right half and the right half kicked the ball straight into the goal and the goal was scored. Now it became a drawn game which delighted the DAV team also and this served to boost their morale. There were loud cheers from their supporters.

Now, the game was passing through a crucial stage. Each side was trying its best to score a goal but soon the time was over and the exciting finale was synchronised with the scoring of a goal by Khalsa team over DAV team. This was a surprising feat that created a great sensation. The winning team received deafening cheers from its supporters while the other spectators admired the courage and sporting spirit shown by both the teams. It was really an exciting match and the spectators appeared to have enjoyed it very much.

Football is one of the most popular games all over the globe. It is played in many forms in different countries, like soccer, rugby, American football and more. As a thumb rule, a team comprises of 11 players, where one is a goalkeeper. The players run around during the whole game, scoring goals by kicking the ball through the post. When you write a short essay on football for relatively higher classes, it would be more appropriate to include more facts like the rules and regulations of the game or so. Here is how you can write up a good paragraph.

My favourite game is football. I have been a big fan of Manchester City’s team ever since I started watching football on TV with my father. I watch all their matches without missing even one. Especially the FIFA world cup is something that keeps me excited for many days before it starts. I also play football in school with my friends every day, and I am the goalkeeper of my team. We have participated in a few league matches and tournaments with other schools. I want to improve my skills like my favourite players in the future. The game of football is so much more than just a simple sport. It is a complex exercise for physical and mental health as it involves a lot of concentration and focus. It also helps to build good team spirit while playing in teams. That’s why, it is my favourite sport.

As we progress to higher classes, the write-ups require longer paragraphs with additional subheadings. When such a situation arises, another factor of paragraph continuity should be kept in mind. Here is an example essay for class 3 on the topic of football.

Football is a game which requires combined mastery and skills in different aspects like strength, fitness, cleverness, and teamwork. It is a game played by 11 players in most cases and for 90 minutes. This game is a fun and entertaining one, where you get to witness the players pass around the ball with swift techniques and score goals left and right.

History And Origin Of Football

Folk football has always been part of medieval times. In ancient days, the ball the players used were made with a wide range of materials, many of which were quite weird. Some even used balls made out of the pig’s bladder, obtained after blowing up the animal. Records say Tsu’ Chu, a game played in the Han Dynasty, was closer to football as it involved a ball that players used to push through a 30-40 cm opening.

Benefits Of Playing Football

There are many benefits of playing football every day, and a few of the noteworthy ones include the following.

  • Improved aerobic capacity because of intense activity for 90 minutes.
  • Better cardiovascular health while maintaining good health and burning calories.
  • Lowers body fat
  • Improves muscle tone and strength
  • Promotes teamwork
  • Good exercise for coordination
  • Better self-esteem
  • How Is Football Played?

Being a short game of just 90 minutes, the game’s entirety is filled with excitement. Every time a player tries to take the ball towards the goal post, it is similar to watching a movie. There are many associated factors like what the opponents do to defend and how much effort they put into scoring the goal. It is always interesting to watch pro players like Ronaldo and Messi show off their skills on the field.

The football teams consist of 11 players and are played in several tournaments both nationally and internationally. The game is literally what is stated in its name, where players kick the ball with their feet towards the goalposts on either side to score points for their team. The different techniques and skills used by professional teams from diverse backgrounds are more interesting. These players tend to show variations with every game, and many fans find it very interesting to keep track of such information and details.

By writing essays about how football is an interesting and exciting sport, your child will be motivated to get into good physical activity as a regular hobby. As we discussed before, having a hobby like a football is good in multiple aspects. Your child also learns about the game’s details while framing the composition on football.

Every child must know how to write a proper essay to improve their writing skills. Hence it is essential to start teaching them such skills from a young age.

a football match essay for 8th class

Subject: Football Match

Hey, Class 8! Today, I want to talk to you about a very exciting sport that we all love - football! It’s a football match essay for you all, and I hope you enjoy reading it.

Imagine two teams, each with their own unique style and characters, facing each other on the football field. The atmosphere is electric, and the crowd is on their feet, cheering loudly for their favorite team. This is what a football match is all about!

The first thing that strikes you when you watch a football match is the speed and agility of the players. They dart back and forth, moving with lightning speed, always looking for that elusive goal. The ball is like a live entity, flying through the air, bouncing off bodies and walls with precision. It’s a test of skill, endurance, and teamwork.

But football is more than just a game. It’s a way of life, a way to express yourself and connect with others. Watching a football match is like watching a story unfold on the field. You see the ups and downs of each team, the highs and lows of each player, and how they come together to achieve their goals.

Now, let’s talk about what makes a good football team. First and foremost, it’s the unity of the team. Everyone has to work together, trust each other, and communicate effectively. Players need to be able to adapt to different situations and make split-second decisions. They need to have a strong defense that can keep the opponents at bay, while the attackers need to be creative, tricky, and hardworking to find those opportunities for a goal.

Next, what do teams look for in good footballers? Independence of thought is crucial – they have to think faster than their opponents to see danger and respond accordingly. Stamina and focus are important, because every single play lasts for long enough for your legs to start tiring but not for you to fall behind psychologically. And finally, teamwork – everyone needs to be able to work together towards a common goal, even when things get tough.

So, Class 8, what do you think? Are you a fan of football? Who are your favorite teams? Do you think we could learn something from these principles in our own lives? Let me know in the comments below!

Remember, football is not just a game – it’s a way of life, a way to connect with others, and a way to showcase your skills and talents. So go out there and enjoy the game! You never know – you might even find yourself on the football field someday!

At about 4.45 p.m. the captain of the Government College team gave a mighty kick and the centre forward received it and ran forward. The players of the other side surrounded him but he very skillfully carried the ball into the semi-circle and managed to give a splendid kick. The ball fell straight into the net, though the goalkeeper did his best to catch it.

Immediately shouts of joy went up into the air. The Government College team had scored a fine goal. And now the other team doubled their efforts to avert the defeat. During the last ten minutes, the game was very brisk and exciting. But till 5 p.m. neither side could score any other goal. Now we all thought that the final match was going to be won by the Government.

The St. John’s players did not lose hope till the last. Their courage and patience was ultimately rewarded. Their captain, a tall , healthy fellow, got hold of the ball and with a strong kick drove it into the opponent’s net. The crowd went wild with shouts. It was 5.7 p.m. and three minutes later, the umpire gave ten more minutes to play.

During these ten minutes, the St. John’s players played with courage and skill. They pressed the other team hard and within the next five minutes succeeded in scoring another goal. This proved to be a decisive goal. The government College players failed to score.

As the clock struck 5.20 p.m. the match was over. The Government college captain congratulated him on the victory his side had won.

Football is one of the most popular games in the world, though in India, cricket is more popular. It is perhaps because of this craze for cricket that India lags behind in football, although she has demonstrated a number of times that she can to be a big nation in all kinds of sports only if a little more enthusiasm for this game is shown by the Indian government and people.

Last week, a District Schools football tournament was organised by our District Godavari Club. The tournament was held in the playground of the local government school. The inaugural match was played between our school team and the local Spring Dale Public School team. Mr. Amandeep was the Captain of our school football team.

The match started at almost 11.30 am. It started two hours behind schedule because of rain.

It was a closely contested match. It seemed to be a no-win match for either team. Till the end of the first half, both the teams were goalless.

However, our school boys upped the momentum in the second half and managed to pierce the rival defence in 45th minute. There was a wave of rejoicing in our school team and our school students who were witnessing the match.

Then, there was suddenly a note of dismay when in the 47th minute, the rival team also scored a goal.

It appeared that the match would end in a draw. However, Rajat of our school team scored the second goal in the tie-breaker and this is how our school team won the match.

World Cup Football-2006

The biggest sporting tournament of the world, the 18th FIFA (Federation International de Football Association) Football World Cup 2006, was declared open by the German President, Horst Koehler in Munich (Germany) on June 9, 2006. The spectacular event was witnessed by a 60,000-strong audience in the Allianz Arena of Munich as well as by hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide on the television. For the first time in the history of the mega event, every living member of the past World Cup-winning teams was present at the opening ceremony. More than 100 former players took part in a parade during the event. The tournament was played from June 9 to July 9, 2006.

In the final of the tournament played between Italy and France, in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin (Germany), on July 9, 2006, Italy defeated France (5-3) in a penalty shootout to win the trophy. This was the fourth World Cup victory for Italy, the previous ones being in 1934, 1938, and 1982. Only Brazil with five wins, has more World Cup victories than Italy. The tournament once again proved that European teams dominate on European soil, while South American teams dominate on non-European soil, a law broken only once with Brazil’s win at the 1958 FIFA World Cup in Sweden.

The World Cup 2006 also marked the return of the dominance of the original superpowers of the game, and proved that the Korea-Japan World Cup 2002 was nothing but an aberration as two of the last World Cup’s four semifinalists—Turkey and South Korea could not even make it to the second round.

Italy beat France 5-3 on penalties in the World Cup final after the two teams finished level at 1-1 after extra time in a dramatic encounter in which French playmaker Zinedine Zidane was sent off. It was only the second shootout at a World Cup final. Brazil beat Italy on penalties after a 0-0 draw in 1994. Germany took third place beating Portugal 3-1 on two sensational goals by Bastians Schweinsteiger. He also set up the third, when his free kick was deflected in for an own-goal by Portugal’s Armando Petit.

Over 30 days of excitement and thrill saw 32 teams playing in 64 matches. A sum total of 147 goals were scored in the 64 matches with an average of 2.3 goals per match in this edition of the World Cup while 161 goals, at an average of 2.52 goals per match, were scored in the 2002 edition. Miroslav Klose of Germany, with five goals to his credit, was the top scorer in the tournament for which he was awarded the ‘Golden Shoe’ award.

In 2010 the FIFA World Cup will be hosted by South Africa. Matches for the 2010 tournament will be staged in 10 stadiums, in nine South African Cities.

Last month I saw an interesting football match. It was played on the Public grounds, between the S.M. School and B.N. School. There were countless spectators. There were students from both schools. The match started at 4 p.m., and Mr. Sriram acted as the referee. The teams entered the field, at the sound of the whistle. There were loud cheers. The players wore their respective uniforms. They looked active and smart.

The game was fast from the start. The forwards of the S.M. School team combined well. They were in complete control of the ball. They made many attacking moves. They tried to kick the ball into the goal of the B.N. School many times. The B.N. School played a very defensive game. Their goalkeeper did his job extremely well. He defied every at- to tempt to score. But still, the forwards of the S.M. School found a gap and scored a goal. There was jubilation in the crowd. Soon it was half-time.

The players of both teams were served with light refreshments. Soon the players regained their lost spirits. After the interval, both teams played with renewed vigor. The B.N. School played a good game. But they were against a superior team. The B.N. School players pressed very hard but they were unable to score. The game did not slow down till the last minute. However, the S.M. School team won by a single goal. It was creditable on the part of the B.N. School team that they were able to restrict the score.

The players of the S.M. School were carried on the shoulders by their school-maters. The students were wild with joy. I enjoyed the match very much. The better team won the match.

Essay on My Favourite Game Football

My Favourite Game – Football

I was only 6 years old when I saw some people playing football on a nearby field. I eagerly looked at the way the players passed the ball with their feet. I was too immersed in the game that I unknowingly let out a huge shout of joy when one of them struck a goal. This excitement was in me even when I reached home, and I knew that learning to play football was my goal.

Due to my persistence, my father bought me a football, and we began playing with it in the evenings. Although I was not an expert in the beginning, I slowly mastered the game through my dedication and hard work . Since I began playing well, I joined the school football team. This further helped me refine my playing tactics as I learnt how to navigate the ball in a team of 11 players and kick the ball into the goal post. Moreover, football improved my stamina and leadership skills. Hence, I can confidently say that football is my preferred game, and this short essay on my favourite game football will validate it.

Rules of Football

In this part of the essay on my favourite game football, we will learn how football is played and what are the rules to follow. In a football game, there will be two teams of 11 players each. The most important thing to remember while playing football is that the ball should be passed from one player to another only by foot. And in case the player touches the ball with his hand, the other team will get a free kick.

The three types of players are also discussed in this short essay on my favourite game football. They are the forward players who put the ball in the goal post, midfielders who pass the ball to the forward player, and defenders who prevent the players from the other team from scoring a goal. There is also a goalkeeper who defends the goal post of the team. Since football is a rough and tough game, injuries may happen, and the referee ensures the game is played fairly.
